TTC no 3? Anyone just started / about to start / about to start thinking about it?

I am absolutely not going to go nuts about it this time like I did for no 2. Because my kids have each other and won't be alone looking after their ancient parents in years to come. But a 3rd would be a bonus. And part of me doesn't care either way, and another part cannot wait for a lovely little snuggly new born. And part of me is enjoying getting my nights back, and my body, and is worried about the money, the lack of bedrooms, the need for a bigger car, having another miscarriage, or high risk pregnancy, a 3rd CS, a baby in intensive care. But then 5 months of no contraception and nothings happening..... The baby is 11 months, and we said we'd start putting more effort in once he is 1....

Anyone in the same boat? Want to hang out and worry / pretend not to worry?

Sorry to hear that max. I completely know how you feel about getting your hopes up.

I thought I would pop back in to update. I haven't been around since Feb as we are not trying yet. I would love a third straight away but dh is taking some convincing. A few days ago he said that he is open to the idea of trying next year and recently we have not been using much contraception so things are looking up for meSmile

Af arrived :-( feel bad for getting dhs hopes up. The only times I've had pg symptoms I've been pregnant so I felt pretty confident. But cest la vie. Here's to next month.

maxpower · 13/04/2014 15:52

Another bfn this morning but still no af. Will see what happens during the week and if no af test again on Friday.

Passthebiscuitspls · 12/04/2014 18:10

Oohhh Max; when are you due AF? How exciting, I'm crossing my fingers for you! Let us know how you get on.
I'm officially in the 2WW. Ovulated yesterday so I'm hoping we've done enough. To be fair, I've never been able to plan babies, and they have both taken 4 months so it would be extremely lucky to be the first month. And a Christmas baby which wouldn't be ideal but what will be will be! Xx

maxpower · 12/04/2014 14:18

Just got a bfn but still having pg symptoms. Tbf I've never tested this early before. Will test again in the morning.

Aeth1992 · 10/04/2014 12:54

Yeah I used to worry about the luck pushing thing but I won't let it hold me to random. I know people who have had complications whether it's their first or 5th. There must be enough babies to go round!

I've just ordered some cheapy pg tests on amazon. Will test on Easter Monday. Obviously unless AF shows up!

Passthebiscuitspls · 10/04/2014 10:11

Mine were sections as well. The first was emergency and quite traumatic. The 2nd was elective and a much better experience! I'm hoping a third will be ok too. Pregnancy has been a breeze both times so hopefully it will be again. Does anyone feel like you're pushing your luck with a third pregnancy, good labour and a healthy baby? I always used to think this but I'm pushing it to the back of my mind now we are going to do it! It WILL be fine! ;)
Zombie; if you're anything like me, even if someone told me it wasn't a good idea, I'd still want it! Only you two can decide. And other peoples opinions are based on what they want and what they think is acceptable for them so I try not to take too much notice. My mum is against people having three children. She thinks the dynamics are wrong, one always gets left out, you can't afford three etc etc. I haven't told her we are trying as I know what she'll say. It's right for our family, we have room for another and it will complete our family so I'll smile and nod when she tells me I shouldn't but I don't really listen!
I'm on day 17 and still not sure I've ov'd yet. I'm going to keep going until after CD20 as my cycles were always long. I've had spotting in between and either period pains or ov pains, I can't decide which, arghhh! Xx

Aeth1992 · 10/04/2014 07:37

My 2 Dcs were also born by c section. They're now 6&4. Hopefully a 3rd section will be ok.

ZombieBelle · 09/04/2014 23:36

should add 2nd preg was a c-section (elec)

ZombieBelle · 09/04/2014 23:30

My implant came out 2 weeks ago, I've been broody for months, and though we had decided to stop at 2 DC, i desperately want another. DH has forms to fill in for a vasectomy and I feel like time is running out.

First pregnancy was fine until i went into labour. I started bleeding horribly, it was placenta praevia (sp?) so emergency csec

2nd was ok, but horrific spd in the last trimester.

I know I should be happy with the 2 wonderful DC i have already, and all I really can say in favour of a 3rd is that I want one. We're in a 2 bed flat so space is an issue, though we have been looking at moving

I guess I just need someone to tell me I should suck up my wants. I don't need another child, i just really really want one. I should concentrate on my 2 dc (5 and 3.2) shouldn't I. I should enjoy the life me and my family have instead of pining for another.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this. I know its something DH and I have to decide for ourselves, but we keep backwarding and forwarding about it. My main concern is how this pregnancy could affect me, I know every one is different but i'm worried that my history could make it very bad.

Aeth1992 · 09/04/2014 10:23

Yes the third is a luxury isn't it? I have one of each but want to ttc with new husband.

We agreed to start in July but both of us have been very lax with condoms. ie still in wrapper

I think I did ovulate in the last few days, so could be pg?

Passthebiscuitspls · 09/04/2014 08:38

Good luck Bonzo! And Cake; that is sooooo Sod's law isn't it! Damn it! I timed coming off the pill so that on our holiday next month I'd be ovulating, think it's all going a bit wrong with that! I keep spotting, had ov pains yesterday and the day before which was only CD15, used to ov on CD20. It never works out the way you want it does it? Xx

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 08/04/2014 13:02

Good luck bonzo. Nothing to report here. Only that AF will be due when I go on holiday on Sunday. Typical!!!

bonzo77 · 07/04/2014 14:02

I guess a third is a luxury. You have your first because you want a baby band your second to provide a sibling for the first, because 2 is company. And the third, you want to have because, well fuck it, let's see if we even can!

Over here, well my chart is like a map of the alps. Not sure why. My GP has agreed to blood tests and an ultrasound, then a referral to an NHS fertility clinic after those results are in, also asked DH for a repeat SA. She's warned me that as I've already had children they won't offer me much.

Why is it so much trickier to decide to have three for everyone? It seems like such a bigger decision doesn't it? My DH has gone back and forth for ages and thinks that we're just starting to come out of the baby phase and everything's getting easier, don't think he fully gets it! Bless him. I'm starting to have a few ov like pains, I'm not sure if it's gonna be early but I don't want to use OPK's yet so I'll just have to guess I think! Fingers crossed for everyone else! Xx

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 06/04/2014 12:12

Oh ELR, bless you, it is really tricky isn't it! We are going to stop ttc soon. And part of me is really happy with that as life is getting so much easier! On 2WW but I don't feel pg at all, as usual!

ELR · 05/04/2014 21:30

Evening ladies, not been on here since late November. DH and I took a break in December from ttc as wanted to enjoy Christmas. We then decided in January that we were happy with two so stopped trying.
This week both DH and myself have had dreams about having a third which has got us thinking again!!! Had a chat with DH this morning and we both agreed a third would be nice but prob not the most sensible thing to do.
But now I find myself here again on mumsnet in the conception threads! Aarrgggg I just don't know, I know I would only have to say the word and DH would be ok to start trying again but do I really want a third?? Yes, yes, yes, but then no no no!

maxpower · 05/04/2014 19:51

Nothing definite to report yet but still got sore boobs and I think they've got bigger - I have nothing to boast about in the nork department but I'm pretty sure they look fuller. Still got another week to go though.

I've been reasonably good at distracting myself over the week due to work but I've got this coming week off so it might be more of a challenge. I think I'm ready for a positive result as I've been having my mandatory panic about the possibility of actually being pregnant and got most of that out the way!

It's my birthday in a few days :-)

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 03/04/2014 18:57

Any news max?

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 03/04/2014 18:57

Welcome biscuits!
CD18 here now. Have had so much spotting around ov this month. Didn't get a positive on the opk's though - same last month. Do you think this means anything? Had ov pains as normal. They are a different brand of opk's. Who knows? At nearly 39 I am expecting all these different things to be happening to my body anyway. It just makes me so glad that I already have 2. My brother and his wife haven't started ttc yet, although they say they want kids. She is my age. I so hope they have not left it too late.

bonzo77 · 03/04/2014 18:26

i think day 1 is the first day of red flow. no red flow.... keep counting, so stick with CD10 etc. Doesn't mother nature wind you up?!

OP posts:
Passthebiscuitspls · 03/04/2014 12:38

Damn it! I've started to bleed mid cycle, I'm on day 10 now. It's old blood and a tiny bit I.e. Doesn't warrant a tampon etc but should I count this as CD 1 or stick with CD10? I can't have ovulated yet so my cycles must be a bit out as I've come off the pill. I thought I'd timed it so well to coincide with when I ovulated as well, bloody body!!

bonzo77 · 02/04/2014 21:51

hi passthebiscuits, course you can join! I definitely agree that DTD for longer in one's cycle works. My last 2 pregnancies were definitely the result of that (one was a mc, but YKWIM).

OP posts:
Passthebiscuitspls · 02/04/2014 17:57

Hey everyone, can I join pls?
I'm 32, DH 34, we have a DS 6 and DD 2 and on our first month TTC number 3! He's finally agreed that we can have a third so I'm very excited!! I have long cycles of around 34 days so have stopped the pill, had a bleed and am around CD 10, last two babies were conceived on cycle 4 so. Hoping it will be a fairly short wait again! I just need to keep DTD longer in my cycle, that was my secret last time ;)
Looking forward to chatting to you all soon! Xx

bonzo77 · 01/04/2014 21:24

I had too many things to discuss with the dr, 2 of which were higher priority than this. She made me rebook for the ttc thing, so will see her next Monday.

Not sure what CD I'm on. Or how long we've been trying in earnest. I'm still temping, and this month we are dtd every other day. Too tired for more than that, and it should theoretically be enough. DH gets sore, as do I (see my other thread I'm on a the moment). Weirdly I've had ovulation pain on the wrong side (the left) this month. Wtf is that about?!
