TTC no 3? Anyone just started / about to start / about to start thinking about it?

I am absolutely not going to go nuts about it this time like I did for no 2. Because my kids have each other and won't be alone looking after their ancient parents in years to come. But a 3rd would be a bonus. And part of me doesn't care either way, and another part cannot wait for a lovely little snuggly new born. And part of me is enjoying getting my nights back, and my body, and is worried about the money, the lack of bedrooms, the need for a bigger car, having another miscarriage, or high risk pregnancy, a 3rd CS, a baby in intensive care. But then 5 months of no contraception and nothings happening..... The baby is 11 months, and we said we'd start putting more effort in once he is 1....

Anyone in the same boat? Want to hang out and worry / pretend not to worry?

Thanks bunny for collating the stats. Am rather excited at the prospect of graduates from this thread. Who will be first I wonder? Doubt it's going to be me. I reckon my chart will show I ovulated yesterday. We dtd this morning, but previous time was 4 days ago. I guess we'll just have to endure the 2ww and see...

PS sorry if I missed anyone as I was scrolling up and down..

BunnyBaby · 30/11/2013 20:38

Oooh... I think I found everyone.. I was all alone on the other thread.. perhaps I'll signpost the old one over here..

Can I hop on board too? waves around to everyone

We've been trying half heartedly since August (only getting into gear once a month).

I'm in the 2WW just and we've managed at days 8, 10 and 12, my cycle is only 26 days so we'll see where we get this month.

I'm 37 and DH is 39. Our two DSs are almost 6 and almost 3.

I had a MMC between my two which they think happened at 10+2 so understand the heartache, but haven't been through that the number of times Nordic has.

I keep thinking 'just one ( or 2!!) more / not finished yet', No.3 would be lovely, unsure if my body could cope with 4 thought, but lets get on with 3 first.

DH is working late tonight, so to show my OCD tendencies (joking), I have updated the list:

TTC:

2lilGirls, 30yo, (2xDD), Cycle 5
Bonzo77, 36yo, (2xDS), Cycle 6
BunnyBaby, 37yo, (2xDS), Cycle 4
Cakecrumbs, 38yo, (2xDS 7&3), Cycle 4
Cherieblossom, 35yo, (2xDC 5&3), Cycle 1
ELR 36yo, (DD11, DS8), Cycle 4
FlipFlippingFlippers, 28yo (2xDD 4&5), Cycle 2
Leons, 42yo, (DS6, DD3), Cycle 1
MrsW2809, 27yo, (DS & DD), Cycle no: 0! - coil due out in 9 days!
Nordicmom, 38yo, (DS8, DD1), Cycle 1

Graduates:

For others who want to add, just copy the whole list and add yourself in (I've done it in alphabetic order).

Us on the thread can repost the list with Graduation news (squee!) or an additional cycle.

Once in a while we can dust through with a broom and tidy it up..

Here to lots of Grads!

Bunny x (contemplating whether 1x glass of red ok in 2ww?! - thinking yes..)

Hi cherie, wood and flip. So much for trying not to be "trying" etc

nordic i recognise your name, either we end up on similar threads, or were you on the MC boards a couple of years ago? I have had one MC, I cannot imagine how awful it must be to go though 10. Emotionally and physically draining.

OP posts:
FlipFlippingFlippers · 30/11/2013 17:06

Can I join? I'm 28 with 2 dd's (4 & 5) and ttc #3. Had a mc last year and AF has been a bit all over the place so I'm trying not to worry ive got a horrible feeling something is wrong eek Only been ttc for 2 cycles but it's taking longer than with my previous 2.

Nordicmom · 30/11/2013 12:52

Thanks you both . I developed my illness from steroids that I was given as a last resort after 7 misscarriages and then had three more on them . Once I stopped the steroids my body couldn't recover normal function. So my ilness didn't cause the miscarriages since it happened after we stopped trying and moved on to surrogacy . I did two IVF cycles with our own eggs and sperm and the surrogate actually conceived both times but the first one was an early miscarriage possible ectopic , second round with two embryos resulted in dd:)! Things change though and miracles do happen so I need to try this again first . We conceived every time we tried those 10 times so super fertile just couldn't sustain it for some reason .

woodhj · 30/11/2013 12:46

Hi we are ttc#3.
35. DD age 7 DS age 3 (previous marriage)
Trying for 4 months and going insane already! Should of come on yesterday and have not yet, don't dare take a test as im happy thinking I could be pregnant. Would be very sad if its negative.
No real signs except big boobs (which im loving)
Cant remember if I felt pregnant before missed period with last two.
Good luck girls! good job we have the chat page as my other half would of done a runner if he knew how nuts its driving me.

Cherieblossom · 30/11/2013 10:17

Hi girls
May I join?
35 ttc #3, cycle 1
Dc1 5 years old and dc2 3 years old.
Will be a big gap but would love a third.

nordic, you have been through a lot. Hope you will get lucky this time

X

bonzo77 · 30/11/2013 09:55

Welcome nordic. Sounds like you really have been through the mill. Interesting that your DD is genetically yours, despite so many mc's before. Do you think your illness was the cause? Might it have been your body saying "I'm not capable of sustaining 2 of us as the moment"?

Think nothing will happen this month. DH is really irritating me, so not exactly into DTD. also, I'm getting a cold, which always seems to do wierd things to my cycle. TBH I feel like shite, and feel worse knowing I'm meant to be going to some dull dull dull thing with my mother later, followed by my work Christmas thing. Very close to crying off both.

Can u add me to the stats please?!
Nordicmom 38y, TTC 3, 1 DS 8y,1 DD 19m, cycle 1

Nordicmom · 30/11/2013 02:47

Hi ! Can i join? Have just started ttc no3 . Am 38 , DS is nearly 9y and DD (via gestational surrogacy after 10 miscarriages and an illness its a long story)is 19m. Feel like after the 5y break from trying after the miscarriages my illness etc and having DD via surrogate , I need to see if things are still the same ( conceived easily but unexplained miscarriages, DD genetically ours so go figure , DS normal pregnancy ) before moving on to IVF on myself which i haven't actually tried and then thinking about surrogacy again. Have just convinced DH that this would be a good idea at all. Don't know why i do this to myself but felt always that I wasn't necessarily done even after just having DD unlike DH .We'll we've just started so here we go lovely 2ww. I must be crazy, DD would be only 2 and a bit if it worked now and I'm struggling with these two but as I said to DH this could take years like with DD so we better get started before all my eggs are gone. Wondering what's going on in there anyway . its been years since i had tests and scans and levels were lower than average then already but we did have DD on the second ivf from just a few eggs.used an ov kit and always regular cycles so wheels seem to be still turning which is a good sign . sorry am rambling but can't sleep am in shock of these recent developments can't believe DH changed his mind ...

sj257 · 23/11/2013 22:53

done it, neg again, my pill has seriously messed my body up lol x

bonzo77 · 23/11/2013 20:52

Yes, POAS again. It's been over a week and still no AF!

orange I think you just get the age gap you get. It's not really under your control. I'm just hoping I get pg before DS2 starts school. Because a) i'll be 40 by then, which seems old, though I know it's not really, and several of my friends have had babies after 40. And b) I don't want to go back to work in a less part time way than I am now, as I said I would when my youngest is at school, and then find I end up taking another career break.

Anyway, I'll be CD8 tomorrow, so out come the OPKs and time to get shagging despite what I said about the next few months not being a great idea timing wise

OrangeFizz99 · 23/11/2013 18:10

I'd poas again sj!

I got married in between dcs 1 and 2 coffee and would have started ttc much earlier but I too wanted to wear the lovey dress etc. it was fine and actually the age gap was better as it was I think. A friend was pg with no 2 at my hen do and I was SO jealous!!

I'm feeling stressed because we've decided that the max age ago we want between 2 and 3 is 3 years so now I'm worried it won't happen. I also think I will always have a bit of a regret if we don't have a third child. Silly really given that I also worry that three might be a stretch in every way!

No 3 is a much harder decision than 1 or 2!

sj257 · 23/11/2013 13:57

I poas last friday(15th) and it was neg. I am feeling so sick today. Argh!

Cookiesandcoffee · 22/11/2013 18:27

Just a quick question.. Thinking about TTC DC3.. But we are getting married next year... WWYD?? I didn't think I wanted a 3rd (DP does) but now I'm thinking otherwise, and don't want to wait until TTC until the summer. But do I want to be a pregnant bride.. No. But I'm so broody!! Ahh.

Leons · 22/11/2013 18:18

orangefizz im like u, trying not to obsess, its hard not to when so broody though. Im not relaxed about it at all, I worry it wont happen because of my age and if doesnt I know in years to come I will have a sense of regret. I know im very blessed with my 2 dc, but just have this thought that number 3 wld make us more complete, sorry might be a bit silly. I suppose being pregnant twice this year we were gearing up to be a family of 5 twice and if I hadn't gotten pregnant at all maybe I wldnt feel so broody.
Sorry to rant and rant but where else can u rant.

bonzo77 · 22/11/2013 08:50

Seriously sj. Put us out of our misery. POAS!

OP posts:
OrangeFizz99 · 22/11/2013 07:34

Have you tested sj?

I am trying very hard not to get a bit obsessed ttc at the moment. Feeling very broody. I thought I would be more relaxed with number 3!

sj257 · 21/11/2013 22:20

Hi guys, It's been exactly 5 weeks since I took my last pill. Still no AF, it's bugging me now I want AF to turn up so that I know things are back to normal cycle wise.

OrangeFizz99 · 21/11/2013 21:02

My mum knows. That's it! I also pretend sticking to two!

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 21/11/2013 10:36

Have you all told people that you are ttc? We haven't told a soul, apart from I've told to one old friend who I only see every 6 months or so that we've stopped using contraception. To everyone else I pretend we're sticking at two!

TeaAndCakeOrDeath · 20/11/2013 09:41

Watching with interest if you dont mind, have DS1 (3 in January) and DS2 (5 months) but just can't shake the feeling of not quite being done yet...

We had a 'scare' this month (unprotected sex once followed by af being 8 days late) and whilst it really really wouldn't be optimal timing (in a flat that is quickly getting too small, in the process of buying a house but massively complicated and may well fall through at any point) and with usual fears of no time/no money...still had moments of being excited inbetween the crippling fear!

So just looking for some positive stories or horror ones to convine me I'm done and 3 would be a terrible idea! to bear in mind for the future

Congratulations too dines

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 20/11/2013 09:30

bonzo, yes at least mine is also a 28/29 day cycle this month too.

ELR, I get one of those cysts every so often too - particularly annoying when you are ttc! They can not return for years sometimes though.

ELR · 19/11/2013 19:31

cakes I know what you mean, why rock the boat? But then I think aaah wouldn't it be nice to have one more!!
Found the an ic test and another bfn!
