TTC no 3? Anyone just started / about to start / about to start thinking about it?

I am absolutely not going to go nuts about it this time like I did for no 2. Because my kids have each other and won't be alone looking after their ancient parents in years to come. But a 3rd would be a bonus. And part of me doesn't care either way, and another part cannot wait for a lovely little snuggly new born. And part of me is enjoying getting my nights back, and my body, and is worried about the money, the lack of bedrooms, the need for a bigger car, having another miscarriage, or high risk pregnancy, a 3rd CS, a baby in intensive care. But then 5 months of no contraception and nothings happening..... The baby is 11 months, and we said we'd start putting more effort in once he is 1....

Anyone in the same boat? Want to hang out and worry / pretend not to worry?

well, I'll be hopeful for you then stinky

Can anyone explain why I am getting occasional "ovulation" pains on CD5, and had them on CD3? Clearly not ovulation! Very short period and feeling like crap. If I didn't know better I'd say I was pregnant! I reckon I'm full of adhesions after 2 CSs, hence all the aches and pains. Bet its not doing my fertility any good. Oh, aren't I full of cheer today?!

have cheered myself up by ordering this and this. found a 10% off code, and tis free delivery and returns if they're no good.

Ooh good luck stinky!

stinkypants · 20/12/2013 18:16

hello
ttc no. 3 since August and period is 4 days late.... not going to test until a week late though, if get that far!! had miscarriage before ds1 and ds2 so not even thinking too optimistically... but a teeny bit hopeful!!

OrangeFizz99 · 20/12/2013 16:16

I was on cezarette before dd1. When I stopped it I had six weeks, then a period, then caught with dd1 in the second cycle and got a bfp on cycle day 25 I think (likely to have been 11-12 dpi I think).

When I tried to go back on it post dd1 I bled continually and my gp took me off it.

bonzo77 · 19/12/2013 20:45

*sorry, by nothing I mean no BFP. I think I'm ovulating, and have done since cycle 1 off the pill.

OP posts:
bonzo77 · 19/12/2013 20:44

bumble I got pg with DS1 immediately after stopping the pill, after about 12 years of taking it continuously. After ds1 I went back on it for 6 months, then off for 7 before getting pg again. After ds2 I went in it again for about 6 months , off now for 6 months and nothing. Though my periods have come back both times and are fairly regular. I'm sure it's different for everyone, and certainly for me, changes with time.

has anyone thought they had trouble coming off birth control pills?

my loestrin makes me not even have a period most months and i am wondering when I convince my hubby for number three if it will take a long time to even ovulate…get periods back?

have anyone here come off birth control and got back to normal easily?

snowpink · 18/12/2013 20:56

Orange, totally on board with this New Years resolution !

I got to hold a 10 day old baby today! Made me feel broody but her mum looked a bit knackered so not looking forward to the immediate post birth period...

OrangeFizz99 · 18/12/2013 14:27

Sorry to hear that for you too cake.

Yes yes yes to lots of 2014 bfps.

That's our NYE resolutions sorted then I guess..!

bonzo77 · 18/12/2013 13:07

I think with modern surgery, the number of CSs you can have is not as limited as in the days of vertical incisions. Especially if you have a reasonable gap between them. After my last one I asked if I was ok to have another. The surgeon said "best to wait till you're off the operating table"!

OP posts:
HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 18/12/2013 12:40

Thanks for the responses. It's tricky. Realistically I can't see myself going for a VBAC but another CS does limit your future options a bit. I went into labour spontaneously with DS1 at 38 weeks but he was back to back (undiagnosed until cut open) and head very high which never descended, big head, small pelvis etc etc. Right - that's me decided!

Cakecrumbsinmybra · 18/12/2013 09:35

Sorry bonzo. Same here though, AF started today Sad, although as I said, out of all the cycles I would have been the most surprised if I'd got pg this month. So here's to some bfps in 2014.

haveyou, I had a EMCS, followed by a VBAC. To this day I still wish I'd had a ELCS! If I do have a third, there is no way I'd be giving birth 'naturally' again, I'll be demanding a ELCS!

MissingMyMarbles · 17/12/2013 23:56

Sorry, Bonzo, missed your wine comment, but definitely yay for riding Xmas Grin

MissingMyMarbles · 17/12/2013 23:55

Ah stink, Bonzo. Can have a drink for Christmas though Xmas WinkWine

Haveyou, I've had 2 c-sections; one emergency and one semi-emergency as in failed induction. That was second time around. They will induce after a c-section but it is kind of rare. I think that the fact mine were seven years apart, with no probs after the first, meant they would induce if poss. They would only let me have the pessary though and only gave it 12 hours. Nothing happened though so had to go for section. Both were pretty rough though, and I would definitely try for VBAC again.

I'm still breast feeding too, although she is in her own bed and doesn't feed overnight. Still waiting for AF though. Wish it would hurry up. Have a distinct cycle, with regular cramps and occasional mardiness but no bleeding yet.

Went to nativity at school today. So cute! There was a tiny baby in the audience though. He's only about 6 weeks - broody much!

bonzo77 · 17/12/2013 18:48

Hi haveyou. I've had 2 CS. One emcs as they'd tried and failed to get me into labour for nearly 3 days and I was knackered and pissed off, with no reserves of energy or mind to deal with labour. The 2nd was semi-elective, in that I had 3 days notice, but no actual choice because DS2 was deemed in danger, too poorly to survive labour and they wouldn't induce after a CS anyway. Like you my second was worse than the first. The anaesthetist was awful, it took over half an hour to get the baby out, and he them went straight to NiCU. I'd be thinking seriously about a GA next time, though it'd mean DH would miss out too. You know you can still try for a VB after 2 CS. It's not common but people do.

Not sure about wine. Not that interested in it. But will start my meds for this supposed reflux and hopefully my cough will go away! And I get another month of horse riding.

OrangeFizz99 · 17/12/2013 18:23

Af is rubbish. Totally.

Wine bonzo?

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 17/12/2013 15:14

Bad luck Bonzo It is always a horrible disappointment isn't it, however rational you try to be.

I'm sure there'll be some disappointments for me ahead too, I'm going to do my best to focus on that six months thing.... and think of all the things I can do when not pg!

Snow DS2 seems to be starting on his back molars. [MASSIVE SIGH] Kicking and screaming next to us in bed through the night and chewing my nipples..... really feel two years post birth is too late for sore nipples!

Oh btw - has anyone else had 2 CS? I have one EMCS and one ELCS behind me. Second section was horrible to recover from. Wish I had tried a VBAC now - was adamant there were giong to be no more than 2 children!

snowpink · 17/12/2013 13:56

AF can be so random. I get the modyness too and dh was convinced last time I couldn't be pregnant as I was irritable as hell. But just wait for it bonzo, you'll probably get pregnant before 6 months are up when it's not so convenient! It's always like this...

Haveyoutried... I'm totally freaked out about how I'm going to manage another pregnancy with two little ones. I'm still breastfeeding too and co sleeping, that was admittedly also the case when I fell pregnant with ds2, but now I have a 4 year old as well (only in daycare between 9-12) and I'm a sahm so it's physically exhausting. But as you say, it's good to know that others are panicking too

BunnyBaby · 17/12/2013 13:49

Oh Bonzo, Sad sorry to hear that, though my last cycle may have been a symptomless one which surprised me, and then I got lucky this month.

Will be keep poping back in to celebrate the BFPs!

Love Bunny x

bonzo77 · 17/12/2013 12:21

Bloody AF (excuse the pun) showed up. The bitch. Without any warning at all. No cramps yesterday, no major moodyness, no cravings, no weight gain. Wtf! Anyway, as I said to a friend, it'd be more convenient in about 6-12 months really.

Hello ladies - can I jump on board?
34, DS1 5.11, DS2 2.2

DP was very reluctant but miraculously had a sudden change of heart recently. I've no idea where it came from! Last night he suggested waiting another year but I pointed out my age... time to conceive...age gap.... and I think I'm ovulating so he said - alright then - and we gave it a whirl! First step accomplished.

Fighting down feelings of panic Grin - very hard pregnancies with nausea and exhaustion and my 2yo is a right bugger! Still bf and still in with us every night. I work three days and am also doing a degree in computing (very slowly!) It's good to know other people are worried about things too!

Really nice to see a couple of good news stories already. Hopefully some more good news for others over christmas?

Sorry to hear about your mc snow - fingers xd for you for the next time.

bonzo77 · 16/12/2013 19:54

If I were just going by my average 28 day cycle, then yes late because Saturday was day 28. But if I assume 14 days from ovulation then no, because that would make AF due tomorrow. And my longest cycle ever was 34 days, which would be Friday. So I'd say realistically AF is due tomorrow. Fuck knows really. I went to the dr about this stupid cough, she thought not asthma but reflux (possible, I do have a history of it). She gave me a script for omeprazole but told me not to take it till I know I'm not pregnant! I'm going to try gaviscon in the mean time. Tbh I'm fed up today. Hmm, that sounds like pms though doesn't it?!

OP posts:
Cakecrumbsinmybra · 16/12/2013 15:14

Interesting bonzo! Are you actually late then??

bonzo77 · 15/12/2013 20:50

Welcome missing

snow we've several friends with 3, some with 4. Also, DH and I are both the oldest of 3, so 3 makes sense.

Hmmm, still no AF. Getting very mild intermittent cramps and the odd stabby pain that is not AF related. No diarrhoea either, despite my mother's cooking. I've had really bad ovulation pains every time I've ovulated from the time I came off the pill to ttc DS1. They are very stabby, last from CD 10 onwards, though are worst on the day I ovulate then tail off, stopping about 4 days before AF comes. It's bloody awful, needs painkillers. If we were not ttc I'd be on something to stop me ovulating it's that bad. Point is I'm still getting the odd twinge like that too. And with my 2 successful pregnancies I had crippling nausea (not vomiting) very early on, 11dpo with DS2. If this is it well have an 18 month gap, probably less as both mine were early. Eek. And DS2 is 1 and not crawling, let alone walking.

Congratulations Bunny! My DS was a faint line about 21 days po and I'm a regular cycle girl. He's 3 now but we were so scared we'd lose him in those first fragile weeks. Good luck everyone. Nice to see lots wanting big families xxx
