TTC no 3? Anyone just started / about to start / about to start thinking about it?

I am absolutely not going to go nuts about it this time like I did for no 2. Because my kids have each other and won't be alone looking after their ancient parents in years to come. But a 3rd would be a bonus. And part of me doesn't care either way, and another part cannot wait for a lovely little snuggly new born. And part of me is enjoying getting my nights back, and my body, and is worried about the money, the lack of bedrooms, the need for a bigger car, having another miscarriage, or high risk pregnancy, a 3rd CS, a baby in intensive care. But then 5 months of no contraception and nothings happening..... The baby is 11 months, and we said we'd start putting more effort in once he is 1....

Anyone in the same boat? Want to hang out and worry / pretend not to worry?

Hi all can I join the thread. Just fallen preg with my third.......v nervous and v excited!

snowpink · 29/12/2013 08:19

Clara, I think I'm only relaxed for the first three cycles max and then I'll get some ovulation sticks too. Luckily I fell pregnant both times easily, just kept track of my cycle days but you never know, not getting any younger. I've never had SPD thankfully and can't even imagine the pain! Is this something like you're bound to get in every pregnancy?

clara85 · 28/12/2013 20:51

good luck for Tuesday HaveYou, the one benefit of getting a BFN will be you can have a drink at new year :)

fingers crossed snowpink, sorry to hear of your mc. I used the clearblue fertility monitor when TTC both times before and it was brlliant , also took b12 vits and natures own clomid soy isoflavens for DS1 and got preg 2nd month using them , i cant seem to just stay relaxed hehe

so nice to hear im not alone in being scared of another another, all our friends have 2 with no desire for a 3rd so its hard to talk to anyone about. I forgot to say I had terrible SPD in both pregnancies with crutches from 20 weeks so the thought of that with 2 toddlers plays heavily on my mind and does make me think sticking at 2 is by far the easier option!

snowpink · 28/12/2013 17:54

Congratulations clarys!

Clara tbh I'm totally petrified! Just today I thought will I be able to go through pregnancy again (my births have been ok ish), I'm very bad at coping with the worry and am so so nervous let alone the exhaustion.

I just finished my first period post miscarriage so this will be our first proper lets try for a baby cycle but I'm still far off taking temperature etc. I think we'll just have lots of unprotected sex for now.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 28/12/2013 15:09

Congratulations Clary! How fantastic, what a lovely christmas surprise.
Welcome Clara. As you will have seen a lot of us are in the slightly petrified camp!
AF is due on Monday and am planning to POAS on Tuesday (just so I know if I can drink properly that night!) otherwise I wouldn't bother. Only cycle 1 for us and tbh it was a bit of a half hearted attempt Grin

clara85 · 27/12/2013 20:51

just found this thread and has been great to read... we are still debating ttc no 3 , some days I cannot imagine anything worse now we are through the baby days which i found hard, but stopped taking pill 2 months ago to see what happens - took 18 months to concieve ds1 and only 2 weeks after stopping pill to concieve ds2 which was a slight shock!

15 month gap between ds1 ( just turned 3 ) and ds 2 ( 22 months ), 1 emergency c section and 1 elective, hospitals in general scare me and the thought of walking into the operating theatre again petrifies me although not as much as going through a 5 day labour with ds1 being back to back and getting to 9cm before being told c section lol

worries for having a 3rd mainly around money, cars, no bedroom space, both ds's bad sleepers and i work late shifts and cant afford much mat leave... but with all that i simply dont feel finished and would rather have a small a gap as possible as it already feels massive compared to my current gap :) I think im mad and just so used to being obsesed with getting pregnant its not secnd nature, and as pp said DH has tentativley agreed to unprotected sex purely to get more !!!

BunnyBaby · 27/12/2013 11:14

Sticking my head around the door, congratulations Clary! And FX for everyone else x

OrangeFizz99 · 27/12/2013 07:08

Happy Christmas everyone

Nordicmom · 26/12/2013 23:25

Haven't been writing lately sorry . Af arrived mid dec and have now just tried again in the second cycle . BFP due around 8.1. I think so on the dreaded 2 ww again. Not feeling positive at all due to past experiences and will try not to think about it until then . Crazily symptom spotting last time though so don't know if I can . Merry Christmas to all . Hope you've had a lovely time ! And congrats to all lucky ones with recent BFP!!!

Mmmbacon · 26/12/2013 10:30

Congratulations, what an amazing christmas present,

Best of luck to all still on the 2ww and merry christmas,

Claryrocks · 25/12/2013 21:18

I only got a positive this morning!!! What an amazing Christmas present. Weren't even meant to be trying properly until next month so had left it until a 5 days after what I thought would be the danger zone!!! Period due on Christmas Eve and became suspicious when a hot bath made me light headed and wine made me feel sick!!! Can't believe it!!! Fingers crossed all fine. Good luck everyone else xxx

Mmmbacon · 24/12/2013 19:52

Hi snow glad your little one is ok,

No news here, no af, but did buy a 3 pack of cb, weirdly the chemist I went to, (15 miles away lol) was out of fr tests so I was wondering how many people were buying them up in order to test over the holidays

will update with news tomorrow some stage, going to poas first thing in the morning after santa has arrived,

MissingMyMarbles · 24/12/2013 18:39

Wooooooohooooooo, Stinky!!!!!! Xmas Grin

Any news, Bacon?

Glad LO ok, Snow. Booooo for periods over Christmas.

snowpink · 24/12/2013 14:36

Thank god ds and I are back home again I just need to get back into the Christmas spirit! AF arrived too properly while in hospital, thank God the nice nurse gave me some sanitary towels.

Bacon - exciting stuff! When are you going to POAS?

Mmmbacon · 23/12/2013 23:49

Well no visit from af yet and its officially 2 weeks for us, so off to the chemist with me in the am if nothing over night, might be a wonderful christmas present for us yet, af a bit irregular here, so g to get a fr test as I think they are most accurate for testing early, so should be able to detect a bfp two weeks after unprotected sex shouldn't it???

stinkypants · 23/12/2013 23:42

Oh no! Hope he's ok and that u both get some sleep! Agree, at least not tomorrow night.

snowpink · 23/12/2013 21:47

Stinky woohoo!! Congratulations!! I hope it all goes well.

I'm spending the night in the fucking hospital with ds2, he fell off his highchair and needs to stay in for observation in case of concussion. I think he's fine and I'm glad it didn't happen on Christmas Day but still!

And dh forgot to bring me tampons in case my period starts!

bonzo77 · 23/12/2013 21:04

Have now read through all- thought I'd add a few details in case of interest.
38 yo, ds 4 and ds 3, 4 th cycle successful.
Early preg symptoms were/are:
-No spots when normally get them- in fact skin looking fab!
-Being intensely ticklish so when dh tries to be amorous I just laugh

  • slight nausea esp when think of food and needing to
swallow constantly
  • heavy feeling like period about to start
  • boobs big but not sore
-falling asleep on sofa Good luck to everyone, how it happened for us this month was just lots of dtd - daily for about 5 days! ! Not easy but just wanted to conceive before I turn 39 and was the last chance for that. Will be an August bday though, all being well.
OrangeFizz99 · 23/12/2013 19:06

Whoop whoop stinky! Congratulations, what a lovely Xmas surprise.

stinkypants · 23/12/2013 18:52

Hello again...
Thanks for your interest! And... It's good news! 2 bfp tests. Can hardly believe it. So think that means I am 5 weeks pregnant.
am happy to share any details that may be of interest! ! Just going to read through the rest of this thread as only read the beginning and end bits so far.

MissingMyMarbles · 23/12/2013 18:44

Evening allSmile

Ooh interesting things afoot with people's cycles. Christmas bfp's would be exciting! Amazingly, I am on cd3!! First one since giving birth to dd2! She's now 17 1/2 months, which means it's the first one in over 2 years! We can genuinely start think about a third. So, whilst I feel like poo, I am glad it's here.

bonzo77 · 23/12/2013 14:10

stinky, well......?

snow, I agree, good news. Though I have to say, the month my cycles went back to normal after my mc and erpc was the month I got pg with DS2....

orange good work DTD every other day, definitely agree that you need to keep it up for a week after ovulation. So to speak. God, in laws. Don't get me started. Mine are just intensely irritating and thoughtless, rather than intentionally horrid. Still avoid them like the plaque.

CD7 here, so need to start thinking about shagging again. I expect to be ovulating somewhere around NY. Which is a pain as DH has agreed to some ridiculous plan involving communal living, people I don't know, £400, a long drive and 2 nights with away. I said no from the start and he agreed anyway. So I've said he can go with DS1 (who is likely to sleep and enjoy it), and I'll stay home with the baby.

snowpink · 23/12/2013 12:47

Yes stinky any news??

I actually had a few drops of blood this morning so either it's AF (which would be good, at least my cycles are back on track after mc) or an implantation bleed, but I don't dare being that optimistic. Either way it's good news.

OrangeFizz99 · 23/12/2013 10:57

Nice bit of retail therapy bonzo, always helps!

I was feeling like that when I was late, turns out one of the little monsters has a tummy bug so it was actually that.

Umm, stinky - POAS!!! What a lovely Xmas pressie that would be.

CD13 today, we have been did every other day so far this cycle so now important to keep it up for the next week! DH needing lots of encouragement at the moment, given thats it the only bit of the reproduction process he is needed for its a bit galling but there we go. In the name of dtd I even curbed my moaning about mil during the pils visit this weekend. I am an actual angel :)
