Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

you fell off my active list so putting you back on

barkingtreefrog · 24/11/2013 18:59

cd16 here and feeling very crampy (for the past couple of days) and very bloated today. I'm wondering if it could be the clomid but don't remember this back in July. When in your cycle did you get the bad cramps sid? Did you have any bloating as well?

Bunnygirlie · 24/11/2013 10:41

snow the google dr who game was awesome!

Grrrrrrr aquarius to FC GP annoyance

barking Yay to the lie-in despite the interruptions Smile

pip Oooh it's all go for you! Hooray for you fitting one in before Christmas! My FC nurse said if AF isn't here by 25th (tomorrow) then I won't be able to start till after Christmas!

So I feel really stuck in limbo-land! My messed up periods mean I have no idea when she will be here so I have no planSad

barkingtreefrog · 24/11/2013 09:49

aquarius it's bizarre how the nhs treats the same circumstances differently in different FCs. You'd think there were some guidelines or something?! FC said the same to me - I appear to be ovulating, DP's sperm all ok - but we're on the clomid!

Very much enjoying my lie in. Stupid dog woke me up at 5.30, took a while to get back to sleep, then stupid DP woke me up at 7.30, and ditto, but the fact remains I've had 12 hours in bed which hasn't been possible for weeks and I really needed it!! I'm not one for a lie in once I'm awake, but I can't remember the last time I was able to not set an alarm and it was bliss! didn't set an alarm on the hen do but that doesn't count as we were up so late both nights!

Boodle9 · 23/11/2013 18:48

Pip - glad to hear it's all gearing up for your 2nd attempt. Looks like I'll be doing my 1st cycle sometime around jan/feb. I guess I'd better show some restraint at Xmas as my bmi is already about 26 and I don't want it creeping up with all the festive indulgence!

Aquarius1 · 23/11/2013 10:43

Good rant kuma hope you felt better after that. I've been sent to GP from FC with a checklist of tests / records to get - FC didnt have any record of some of the tests i've done - v annoying - seems to daft to me that they can't just share all fertility related records with each other.

I just had a 23 day cycle too Hmm

birdy FC says as I'm probably ovulating and DH sperm ok , so we'd go straight to IVF if laparoscopy doesn't help - I asked him about clomid but he basically said not appropriate for us.

i love coffee too! But can't drink more than a cup as it makes me jittery. I was bad last night and had my entire allowance of three glasses of wine Hmm now have to abstain at a dinner party tonight Hmm

Pipbin · 22/11/2013 23:37

Well no call from the clinic.
So I guess this means that it's all systems go for Friday 13th!

Snowlily · 22/11/2013 22:30

lol @ bunny - I've just been playing the Dr Who Google game- its ace,lol Fingers crossed for Pip & Sid
AF has arrived so I'm out this cycle, - guess we'll be making our anniversary Dr's appointment.
Our acu/GL diet guru lady has told us to come off the caffeine RP so we've gone decaf where we can. (Caffeine is meant to be bad for male & female reproductive stuff apparently).Along with cows milk, due to cow hormones confusing our bodies (!)- we've gone to nut based milk for a while to see how it goes. Its all worth a try! (tmi alert - reducing dairy has improved OH's mucous based issues whilst excercising!). :)

Bunnygirlie · 22/11/2013 19:58

Happy Friday peeps!

Any news from clinic pip?

Sorry to see you return with a rant kuma please stay and be less ranty lol. Grrrrr on your behalf though!

sid I know how you feel, this week with the ivf approaching I am feeling very sad that it hasn't happened naturally and annoyed that for some it is so easy grrrrrrrrrr

barking not obsessing is nice!

It's weird, now that we are heading towards ivf I feel less pressure, knowing that it's highly unlikely to happen naturally means no obsessing about DTD at certain times!

barkingtreefrog · 22/11/2013 18:11

Spent 6 hours helping a mate move house today so I'm not going for a run tonight I'm off for a nap on the sofa in front of the fire!
CD14 but keep forgetting to poas!! Not that I've ever had O before cd19 at the very earliest even on the last clomid cycle, but the sticks are there waiting I just keep forgetting - too much time off while I was waiting for AF to arrive post mc!! I'm out of practice! DP said last night (as I explained that he'd have to try and perform despite us getting in from the pub at midnight and him drinking 3 pints) that we're 'not as organised this month'. I think he meant that I wasn't giving him daily updates about my cycle day and whether he was needed or not that evening... Hmm Just not feeling the ttc love this month, too exhausted from so much other stuff going on. Means I'm not obsessing though, which is nice Smile .

RevoltingPeasant · 22/11/2013 17:42

Kuma that is incredibly annoying. somehow the 'small stuff' actually gets on your tits more than the big issues, I find!

Birdy I think I may have to cut down on the coffee in the New Year if not pg by then. I am at the sort of stage where I could inject it neat through my eyeballs and wouldn't notice. So it's probably time to get a bit healthier.....

It's just been a rough few months at work and somehow, coffee and a biscuit is the thing that enables you to stay that extra hour or come in at the weekend or whatever. I always lose weight when work gets easier....... think I am odd though!

Right ILs over tonight so need to go and tidy kitchen so they won't judge me too much Blush

SidneyBristow · 22/11/2013 17:38

Kuma I'd be fuming. Could they not mail them to you, since you did as requested but the miscommunication was on their end?

RP very exciting about your book; what an awesome accomplishment!

Charming how'd the invoice situation turn out?

pip yay on AF showing up (never thought I'd type that) and fx they can do your second round this month!!

Ho-hum here. DH & I have arranged for all the blood tests barring 2 to be done through our GPs. 2 for me will have to be done at the private FC at or after our initial consultation in a couple of weeks. Still sore from the hysteroscopy but no longer bleeding, hurrah. Getting fed up with all of it and wish TTC weren't such a huge part of our lives. Really gutted by how easy it is for some, while the rest of us struggle. Sad

IamKuma · 22/11/2013 16:54

Just poking my head in again. I've been awol for a few weeks. I took November as a month off TTC, although we did dtd a few times anyway. No miracle 'I'm not trying' diffment though; just a very, very short cycle - 23 days Sad.

I've also been the victim of incompetent staff. I'm seeing the FC next week and my GP told me to pick up test results before the appointment so I phoned at the beginning of the week to check that was ok as I can only easily get there one night a week when it is open late and receptionist said I could come any time so I went last night. The girl on reception last night said she couldn't give them to me and I had to speak with the gp first. gp then rings today asking what I needed a call for so I explained and all she was was 'that's fine I'll print them for you to collect from reception'. I can't understand why the first woman didn't arrange this or why the second woman couldn't have just given them to me. I'm now going to struggle to get them before the appointment as they aren't open late again until the day after my appointment. Grr Angry

Anyway, sorry for returning with a rant .... I hope everyone is having a good Friday.

pip fx for you this time

aqua helloSmile

BlueBirdy · 22/11/2013 15:53

Grr, sorry about AF Pip, hope they can fit you in for this next one!

Well done on your book RP, that's some achievement just writing a book in my eyes! Have you tried decaf coffee? I LOVE the smell and taste of a good coffee but unfortunately if I have even a sip of normal coffee I feel all light headed and shaky, so have to stick to the decaf - which I suppose is a good thing for me at the moment!

Hi Aqua, could the Dr not put you on clomid first for a bit if you feel IVF is too much at the moment, or IUI or something, or would those not work? Do you know what your issues are yet? (Noisy me Smile) My BMI fluctuates around 19/20, and is luckly 20 on my notes so no one has said anything, but my Dr did say (as she was poking around) when she was doing an internal exam how easy it was as she could feel pretty much everything from the outside. I was a bit Hmm that's a bit freaky.

Charming I think hot baths are only unadvised for the men if their SA isn't great. I think hot baths/saunas used to be associated with miscarriages but think research has since ruled it out. Hope you get the invoice sorted - I know how you feel, spoke to an unhelpful receptionist who was trying to get me to cancel my IVF consultation appointment on 27 Dec because she doubted I would get my scan done in time (which is done at a different hospital, so how should she know!) and have since spoken to someone else who said my scan is booked for the 4th, so even though it was just a bad experience with one receptionist I was not exactly filled with confidence about this clinic!

Pipbin · 22/11/2013 12:31

AF here properly. Nice cycle though, 28 days to the hour!
Called the clinic and they said that if they can't do it this cycle they'll call.

RevoltingPeasant · 22/11/2013 08:54

Oh Pip let us know what the clinic says. Sad, but cycle 2 will be your time, I bet!

Oooh barking you put me to shame. The office cleaner who is for some reason convinced I am pregnant keeps telling me off about my caffeine intake ('Is not healthy for you, I think' on seeing the mound of coffee cups in the bin) Confused I definitely drink alcohol outside the 2ww. I dread to think what my BMI is now - it used to be about 23ish but I have got really lardy over the last 6 months.

thanks aquarius non-fic, boringly - I am an academic so only 3.5 people will ever read that book, and it's nice to know one of them liked it!

Aquarius1 · 22/11/2013 08:26

Thanks for the welcome ladies.

Well done on your book RP- fiction or non fiction?

Hope the clomid goes well for you barking. And hope the drugs work bunny

barking thanks for sharing re alcohol and weight. I did cut down for a bit in the early months of ttc but just felt it was a bit pointless as no sign of a baby. Need to start being more positive about it all (and replacing g&ts with pies)

Happy Friday everyone Grin

barkingtreefrog · 22/11/2013 07:28

Grin for your book review rp

barkingtreefrog · 22/11/2013 07:26

Hi Aquarius Grin . I was told by the gp that I just scraped the lower bmi requirements and if I'd been lighter she wouldn't have been able to refer me. The fertility clinic haven't mentioned it at any point though.
I went tee total for over a year when first ttc, then the nurse at the fertility clinic said a glass of wine now and then wouldn't hurt so I started allowing myself the occasional glass before the tww, but not in it. Since the mc I've been a bit more slack but now I'm back on the clomid so after this weekend (shag week next week) I'll be taking it right back again. It's partly because in the spirit of doing everything possible I'm trying to be healthy (and for me alcohol is less of a temptation than cake and chips), partly because some reports suggest alcohol can reduce fertility and I'm not taking any chances, and partly because - you never know - I might actually get pg again and I wouldn't want to touch a drop if I was, even in the very early days. That's a paranoid personal thing because I've had some experience of children with foetal alcohol syndrome and it doesn't take an alcoholic mother every time. Everyone's different though, I think as long as you stop as soon as you know you're pg (which for any berry will be a lot sooner than any woman who isn't trying) then you're ok she says with a gin hangover Wink Shock

pip boo to more bleeding but fx for a speedy start to your ivf bfp Thanks .

Pipbin · 21/11/2013 23:45

More bleeding. I think AF proper will be here by morning. I'm going to call the clinic first chance I get.

Pipbin · 21/11/2013 23:34

My BMI is very close to the point where they tell you to go back when you've eaten less pies!

Gillster · 21/11/2013 23:18

Hi Aquarius - welcome back! Given that my BMI is around 26 then I definitely wasn't told to eat more pies! I do think that if your body fat is pretty low then it messes with your hormones which is probably why they'd like you to put on a few pounds. As to the alcohol, I said I drank a couple of glasses of wine per week and that was fine as long as I stayed within the recommended units (14).

Yay to the drugs Bunny!

Pipbin · 21/11/2013 22:59

Hi Aquarius. Nice to see you back, although of course we all wish we were all meeting the copter.

Bunnygirlie · 21/11/2013 21:59

Yay Aquarius is back Smile
