Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

I've been trawling the net again was wondering if anyone had any experience with/info on DHEA? It's a hormone that you can get as tablets and is supposed to be good for low ovarian reserve, improving chances of IVF sticking and erectile dysfunction. I've been googling but I value berry info a lot more!

BlueBirdy · 29/11/2013 15:10

Hi Win Thanks Welcome! (but sorry you are in this position)

The second set of tests could very well yield better results, and would it be worth trying a different clinic to get a second opinion on the IVF? I don't think it is unusual to have an anovulatory cycle once in a while. Do you know if your luteal phase is normally normal? Hope you get to sort out your options soon!

Just remember that 'low chance' doesn't mean 'impossible' Smile

winohhh · 29/11/2013 13:58

Afternoon Lovely Elderberries, I was hoping I would be allowed to join. I'm a lurker, who's been hoping to meet the instadiffer criteria, but unfortunately that ship has sailed.

We've been ttc for about 8months now. I've been happily peeing on sticks and in pots, expecting that something would happen. But it didn't. So, as I'm 36, I dutifully went off for my tests. We got the results today. High FSH, low AMH, no ovulation this month. Low chance of conceiving naturally, and given the high FSH, the clinic we went to wouldn't think about IVF. I'm feeling shocked and lonely and not really sure what to make of things. The FC said it may still be the result of being on the pill for a long time, and want to re-do the tests in a couple of months. sigh.

I was hoping to come in for a bit of support and hand holding?

Sorry for everyone elses struggles, and congrats Charming!

barkingtreefrog · 28/11/2013 23:10

Hi cherry how are you doing? Smile

cherrycoconut · 28/11/2013 22:49

Just popping in to pass on congrats to Charming you little beauty. I haven't been around for ages and pop by to read this amazing news, really chuffed for you!

Pipbin · 28/11/2013 21:31

No idea when transfer will be yet, I'm waiting for the schedule.
We are super lucky here and get three full goes and then three frozen transfers.

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/11/2013 21:21

Pip when do you expect transfer day to be? (I'm assuming 13th is the start not the transfer). Every single part of my body crossed that you're second time lucky with a late Xmas pressie of a bfp Grin

BlueBirdy · 28/11/2013 21:09

Pip we will be starting in the new year, hopefully won't have to wait to long. All the best for your cycle! Friday the 13th! Lucky for some - sure it will be for you Smile

BlueBirdy · 28/11/2013 21:05

Yeh Aqua, post code lottery Angry Think NICE recommends 3 cycles as normally about 35% chance of a live birth per cycle, so if offered 3 then you should normally have a baby at some point. In my area you only get one, and FC ruled out clomid or IUI helping, so straight onto IVF for us. At least it includes a frozen egg transfer if 1st go doesn't work (if enough eggs are collected and if they thaw out ok). I can see how the whole thing can be so stressful and heartbreaking, I'm managing to feel quite positive about it though (so far)!

I normally feel like we haven't done enough during shag week - it can be quite a chore sometimes!!

Pipbin · 28/11/2013 20:56

Charming Wonderful news! So happy for you.

Sid and Blue are we going to be IVF buddies?
I spoke to the clinic today and they confirmed that we are on for this cycle. I should start injections on the 13th. Friday the 13th.

CatsCantFlyFast · 28/11/2013 20:47

RP you haven't O'd, you always get a raise about this time in your cycle. They'll come down again pre O so afraid you will need to woman up and get shagging soon!
Aquarius FX that your lap fixes the endo. I've always been quite lucky with AF but have friends who have horrific issues so I really feel for you
Charming you need to come and jump on the helicopter thread

Aquarius1 · 28/11/2013 19:31

RP yes v much so. We've had a pretty poor month on dtd front- both tired and stressed from work and extra curriculum stuff we both do.

blue that's rubbish. Had no idea you could only get one round depending where you live. Really hope all goes well for you.

On a separate note, having recently had first FC apptmt i now have a Lap scheduled for a few wks time which is scary but also a huge relief (can't remember if I said that already). I dread my periods and really hope they find and remove any Endo that's lurking in there. Has anyone else had this? Did it take long to recover?

RevoltingPeasant · 28/11/2013 19:12

Hello all. Charming has it sunk in yet??

Sid I'm sorry you felt so rubbish the other night. I'm not at that stage yet so can't say I really know how you feel, but I can imagine a little - Thanks

CD9 here and my temps shot up this morning so hoping I didn't OV early. Normally OV around CD16/17. So hadn't even started using OPKs yet this month! If I have I think we might have to miss this month because we are both so tired from work: DH had a work presentation in Birmingham which about 3-4 hours from us so won't be back till late and I am having the traditional last-two-weeks-of-term hellishness. Lecture tomorrow which I've hardly looked at since giving it last year - gulp - and mahoooosive deadline for a journal on Monday. Eurgh.

Does anyone else find that work totally gets in the way of ttc? I know I need to just woman up and get shagging, but jeezzzzz............

barkingtreefrog · 28/11/2013 18:54

Luck of the postcode lottery I think Aqua Sad .

Aquarius1 · 28/11/2013 18:38

Hi all

Blue - can I ask - how come you're only getting one cycle of IVF?

BlueBirdy · 28/11/2013 14:54

YAAAAAAY Charming!!! Congratulations! Love hearing of BFP's - gives me hope Smile

Feather hope you can enjoy your time away - what a lovely DP you have!! Maybe it is good you have found out about friend before you left, hearing about it after might have undone all the good the trip will bring

Sid I know what you mean, we have been put straight onto IVF and only get one cycle of it. The odds of it working aren't great, I don't even want to think about what we'll do if it doesn't work Sad Glad we get one free go at least! FX for you in the mean time!

BlindKitty · 28/11/2013 12:16

sid surely now you've had your polyp removed you've better chances anyway? X

SidneyBristow · 28/11/2013 10:01

Please ignore my wobble from last night Blush the idea of IVF being the end of the line for us does scare me to death, bc up til now it's always felt like our safety net that we were saving for our last resort. Rationally I do know that it's our best move and I feel proud that I''ve toughened up (at least a little), bc even up til a month or two ago just having the conversation would've reduced me to tears. I'm sure I'll feel better after our consultation next week. It's just a bit daunting, as when the problem is "unexplained", how can they hone in on what to fix...?

That being said, I'm happy bc today's CD13 and I've gotten a Peak reading on CBFM & a very strong line on an OPK. Our timing so far is great and it's a relief having control back of when to DTD - even if it doesn't work, at least there'll be no regrets of following instructions that didn't necessarily make sense.

BlindKitty · 28/11/2013 07:10

Good work charming!!!!! Grin

mrswalker13 · 27/11/2013 23:03

Brilliant news charming

PuppyMummy · 27/11/2013 21:38

Congratulations charming lovely news.

CharmingCats · 27/11/2013 21:37

Thanks berries. Really hoping that my announcement wasn't insensitive. You've been with me through thick and thin.
It doesn't feel real, hoping it doesn't turn out to be cp as I think I'm probably only 12-13 dpo.
mrsw glad you're going away, it may help.
God, this ttc is such a roller coaster.

sid despite the BFP I know what you mean about exhausting options. My mum had 5 miscarriages before me, so I'm not taking anything for granted. I felt very sad to be having to take clomid. It was as though I'm not as good as these instadiffers. I just relaxed and had sex, but no joy. Try to focus on the positive aspects of getting help. Sending you lots of love.

RevoltingPeasant · 27/11/2013 21:24

Charming Grin congrats.

SidneyBristow · 27/11/2013 20:58

Feather be gentle with yourself; I'm glad your DH it taking you away, maybe a change of scenery will help bring you back to yourself a bit. You've had an upsetting loss and it will take time for you both to process it Thanks

Mrs W so sorry to hear this Thanks Not sure there really is a bright side to a CP but I know a few berries have had them. It's all just such a rough road. Makes me sad that any of us ever thought getting pg would be a cakewalk, because it's turned out to be anything but!!

Charming lady I am so pleased for you, really glad the Clomid worked and that Lovely Consultant has done his bit in getting you into the 'copter. Really hoping I can join you all up there soon; the closer I get to IVF the more scared I get that if it doesn't work, we'll be out of options Sad

Boomgoestheweasel · 27/11/2013 20:57

Charming!! Fantastic news, in your FACE pcos!! xxx
