Here we go again.....

The smallprint –
Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 6+months, NO instadiffers, must have a special pot) and def no mention of baby dust or baby dancing UGH !!! Ooooh aren’t we strict!

Hey elderberries, I don't suppose any of you will remember me but I was on the berry threads a few months back having ttc since june 12. There's lots of names I recognise and good to see yellow brick road and copter are still in action. Thought I'd pop in and share my totally crap news. The end of months and months of tests gave us devastating news that we're not gonna be able to have kids of our own. DH doesn't produce any swimmers (as in totally zero). Was such a massive shock as you can imagine. So we're waiting to get referral to FC but not sure what they can do, other than donor.
In all the berry threads have you come across anyone else in this situation? Trying hard to keep going each day but all quite depressing so trying to find someone that can relate.

Gillster · 09/12/2013 21:24

If not it

Gillster · 09/12/2013 21:24

It is was just the sake of a few months I'd be tempted to stick with the clomid Feathers. How old are you? If you were late 30s then that would be my only reason to go for the IVF route sooner rather than later as success rates would obviously be better.

barkingtreefrog · 09/12/2013 21:03

boodle DP came in as I just started watching it and said 'oh, is this the one 's/he' goes out' just as the eliminated person was dancing. Hmm. Thanks for that! Shock

barkingtreefrog · 09/12/2013 21:01

I think we're in a similar position feather in that it was clomid that finally got us our bfps and even if it shouldn't have worked according to whoever it did and therefore is worth trying again.

but best to wait until af actually arrives instead of getting overly excited and taking them randomly on a whim

FeatherFeather11 · 09/12/2013 20:51

boodle & barking I think so. My instinct says to give if another go in the new year, although the nurse said I could do it on my next period this month if I want - that doesn't feel right to me though. I also asked if they would dk another hsg to check that my tube isn't blocked. Nurse said she thought I was mad to push for that because it's unpleasant, but I'd rather not do my next round of clomid not knowing! If it's blocked, I'll go straight for IVF.

What do you ladies think? Is that the mist stupid plan ever? Should I just get on the IVF list and night give clomid another go?

BoodleDoo · 09/12/2013 20:44

Feather, glad things are looking cleared up after the ectopic. Tricky decision for you with the clomid. What do you think you'll do?

Barking, I watched strictly yesterday from the safe haven of my bath tub! (Put the laptop on a stool outside the door...inspired!)

barkingtreefrog · 09/12/2013 20:38

Good news the tube is clear feather but must have been difficult being in the epu Thanks .

Are you going to give clomid another go then?

FeatherFeather11 · 09/12/2013 20:34

Mystery = must feel. Bloody autocorrect.

FeatherFeather11 · 09/12/2013 20:33

Great news gill! Here's to a speedy recovery and a shiny palace!

Went for my scan today - exactly one month and one day after getting the ectopic diagnosis. Looks like it's all gone - fertility nurse couldn't see anything in my tube. She said the consultant would probably say that I should be moved to IVF, but her opinion us that there's no reason not to give clomid another go - she said she'd twist his arm if that's really what I want to do in the new year. Feeling ok about it all. Was a little sad when I left, and very difficult to be in the epu with all the glorious bumps around.

barking fx your consultant calls back. All terribly confusing and mystery feel weird. Argh!

barkingtreefrog · 09/12/2013 20:30

Very quiet in here... I'm feeling rubbish and off for an early night. Can't even catch up on strictly as I'm too tired to concentrate, just keep switching off and realising I've missed another dance! Shock

IamKuma · 09/12/2013 20:30

I'm glad it went ok Gill, I was thinking of you today! Enjoy your recuperation time CakeBiscuitBrew

barkingtreefrog · 09/12/2013 19:14

Wishing you a healthy, springy palace gillster Grin .

Glad it went ok.

Gillster · 09/12/2013 19:04

So all went OK with my fibroid removal op. Had a lovely sleep this afternoon and now just relaxing and being waited on hand and foot by DH. Hopefully this is it and I'll have a lovely springy palace of the child (!) for when IVF starts in Feb/March.

winohhh · 09/12/2013 18:36

Hope you get the answers tomorrow barking! So frustrating!!

Yep, I'm signed up to ff. my alarm is going off at 6am every morning! I'm hoping it gets easier. And also provides some clarity about when af is starting with all this spotting!

barkingtreefrog · 09/12/2013 18:18

I called his secretary earlier rp and explained the problem. He wasn't there so I've asked for a call back after 3.30 tomorrow if possible.

RevoltingPeasant · 09/12/2013 17:45

barking I think you should call his/ her secretary and say you are worried you are wasting the drug because it's not clear when to take it. It isn't fair on you for them to be effectively wasting your chances like this - I'm guessing you only get so much clomid - by not giving clear guidance!

yy to Fertility Friend - it has changed my life in the sense that I stick a thermometer into my mouth at 6.15 every morning even Sundays

barkingtreefrog · 09/12/2013 16:32

Have you started a FF chart win? The app is very good.

Still no bleeding here. Either AF lasted less than 24 hours or that wasn't AF and another cycle is already screwed up because I've taken the clomid at entirely the wrong time. Balls.

I need to speak to the consultant but don't know how easy that will be....

winohhh · 08/12/2013 23:49

My thermometer has arrived btw. Temping has commenced!!

winohhh · 08/12/2013 23:47

Sorry for all the af confusion barking. I'm in a similar boat trying to work out when and if mine started. I went for acupuncture on Thursday and on Friday sat and today I've had spotting, only cd25, so early for my af to get here. Need to book in for my cd 3 blood test again (hoping the first ones were wrong). think I'm going to wait for full flow.

RP, sorry to hear about you DH. Definitely drag him to thd doctors next week if he's still not feeling right.

BoodleDoo · 08/12/2013 22:51

Happy - I changed the 9 to a Doo; not sure why! To quote Sheldon: What is life without whimsy? Grin

Gillster · 08/12/2013 22:30

Don't think I can offer you any advice on your strange cycles Barking, they are quite puzzling. Hopefully they'll settle down now.

Just bought "Waiting for a baby" by Sabrina Sargeant on Kindle - only 77p! It's all about IVF. Not sure if it's any good or whether it will lead to me obsessing about stuff but will give it a go.

barkingtreefrog · 08/12/2013 22:05

My experience of NHS direct has always been complete rubbish, and last time I spoke to a gp she didn't have a clue about clomid. I think I just need to jump in and make a decision! Given my temps I would say the chances of being pg or even having O'd is ridiculously tiny, so I'll just keep taking the clomid. If I stop now I've used up this round anyway. Next cycle I will try 5-9 instead! Shock
Fingers crossed I won't have made my fkd cycles even worse!!!

CatsCantFlyFast · 08/12/2013 21:59

Captain is a besh I think

FeatherFeather11 · 08/12/2013 21:31

barking might be worth calling nhs direct and asking. Not sure what to advise you to do. If it were me, and I was sure that what I was having was not a period, then I would stop the clomid and see a doc. I can't get over the fact that you're taking clomid totally unmonitored. I think it's a disgrace!
