Part 2 this way!

We had 6 BFPs in just over a month on the first thread, so here's hoping the luck continues.

Yay, Donna. That's fantastic :-) I'm so pleased! Scan picture on Facebook please!

And nice to see you Engels. It's great your hcg levels are finally dropping now. And well done on your race. 15k is impressive!

I hope you get to TTC again very soon.

CallingAllEngels · 22/11/2013 14:13

Hello everyone!

Just popping back in to see how you're all getting on. A few bfps have snuck in!

Well, things are still on hold here. Hcg finally started dropping last week, but still above 400. Next check is next week, and will have to keep going back to hospital till it hits 0.

So impatient to ttc! But could be another month before I'm even in the starting blocks!

Did manage to do my 15k last weekend though (and have regained use of my legs!)

donnas1984 · 22/11/2013 14:06

Better congratulations! I wondered were you'd gone we got our implants out the same day so id alway spared a thought for you! A line a line you can get a false negative but false positives are very rare! I Googled!

So I had me scan it went brilliant. I'm 11weeks and 4 days so a couple of days further along than I thought I have some protein in my wee so there gonna check that out. My due date is 9th June. I'm so relieved and the staff were lovely. I feel I can now relax amd enjoy. Thank you everyone for your kind messages over the past few days its lovely to know ppl are thinking of you. xx

mrsm22 · 22/11/2013 14:01

Good afternoon All,

Sorry this is just a quickie as i'm busy at work til 5pm.
Massive Congrats to BetternotBitter - That's wonderful news! Wishing you all of the very best. xxx
Donna - I hope everything has gone ok today with your scan. Please update soon. Sending lots of love xxx
Will post tonight properly so not missing anyone out! Happy Friday to all!

HungryHorace · 22/11/2013 13:09

Congrats, Better! Well done. :-) And thank you for the sympathy. It was very annoying. :-/

Lucy, don't POAS until at least 10 DPO as implantation takes place from 6-12 DPO and you won't get a result until a few days after that.

What cycle are you on? This is our 3rd proper cycle as we didn't decide to TTC until too late after my first AF and it was only a 17 day cycle too!

I'm in the 2WW with you now. Hate it already!

OP posts:
Kt1991 · 22/11/2013 12:43

Welcome back better! bug congrats to you! I was wondering where you had disappeared too! Give it a couple of days and do a digi if you haven’t yet! A line is a line too!
lucy feel exactly the same as you dw! I’ts horrible waiting isn’t it. Try and hold off a little longer, 2 reasons, 1 your waste a test lol, and 2, you don’t want to be disheartened if you get a BFN. longer you hold off, more chance of a BFP appearing! How many months has it been for you again lucy
Sorry to hear you got AF lelly Thanks and Wine for you.
I actually don’t think I have ovulated this cycle yet, as last few months I’ve had really bad cramps whereas nothing this yet especially as I thought it was this week I was. So feeling a bit frustrated. Going to keep DTD anyway! DS is off to my mum and step dads tomorrow night so will make the most of it!

Lucyjojo · 22/11/2013 12:24

Hurray Better!!! That is fantastic news! How long were you trying for?? (Sorry I'm a bit obsessed with numbers at the mo!) I think you can feel a bit periody in early pregancy can't you, I know I had awful period like cramps on and off for the first few weeks. It's so strange that it usually happens when people least expect it too!
Gutted for you lelly, hope you are indeed tucking into the wine, there is some tasty mulled wine out there at the moment!
Hi again Stacks, nice to hear from you, hope you are pushing through the first tri ok, how far along are you now?
I have been a whirlwind of emotions these past few days. I managed to convince myself I was out again this month based on nothing, and then convinced myself it is literally never going to happen for me and I have been trying to tell myself it is ok to have only 1 child despite wanting 4. Someone please give me a virtual slap for being so irrational. Anyway today I told myself I am still not out of the race yet this month, still not due for another week so I am trying to be optimistic and cheerful!! I have been feeling very crampy, periody like, and had terrible heartburn all morning, but that may have been from eating my breakfast too fast! I am so tempted to POAS, is 7DPO too early???
Hope everyone is ok, where are you all! Donna hope the scan went well for you???

Stacks · 22/11/2013 12:17

Congratulations Better!

Ack, DS just woke up. That's a short nap :(

BetterNotBitter · 22/11/2013 12:01

Hello there strangers!!

To explain my very lengthily absence, our LO got a sickness bug which rapidly spread its way through me, my husband, my parents, my sister & her kids so I missed about a week. When I came back on so much had been said I felt I couldn't possibly comment on it all.

And also, the sickness came in our 2nd month of trying right on ovulation so we didn't dtd much and AF inevitably hit so I felt thoroughly disheartened. To be honest I found 'trying' to conceived very stressful and so we decided to throw out ovulation tests and just see what happens. I didn't feel like I could really add to this chat as that would make me put pressure on myself I think.

I haven't been able to forget about you all totally though and have been checking in and catching up regularly! I am another one who got married in the lovely Lake District!

Congrats to all the bfps!! And you mrs as the thread started! hungry I've had much sympathy during your wtf cycle!

Anyway...... This month, my husbands been away with work, our little girl (22 months) has had a nasty water infection etc etc so as a result we only dtd twice in the whole month, a week or so apart but this morning....I got a BFP!! My periods a day late & I'm regular to the hour so I'm hopeful it's a real BFP!! My reservations are that I do feel like I'm due a period, a bit crampy, backache and also, it seems unlikely given the tiny amount of dtd!!

What's everyone's thoughts? I know it only takes once but still....?

And that's been a very self centred post! Sorry! My first post back too! How is everybody? Any exciting christmas plans?

HungryHorace · 21/11/2013 22:20

Hi Stacks, I hope you're feeling more energised soon.

Lelly, that's shit about AF. :-( Have some Wine and chocolate for now.

lelly78 · 21/11/2013 21:58

Donna, Fx for the scan, well dundee for pushing, I was a wuss last time but think I would be stronger second time round!

Utopian, our feeding sounds like yours: am, 4pm and bedtime my period came back at 9 months so hopefully not long. However mine is rubbish, light flow, not sure I have ov 'd and no real luteal phase I think, this was just a 20 day cycle so no use to anyone Angry
Which also means I am long out of the poas party Lucy, instead I am just pissed off!

Stacks · 21/11/2013 13:44

Afternoon everyone. Sorry I've been AWOL, just finding the tiredness of the first trimester really hard. It's getting a bit better now though, I stayed awake till 10 last night! I'm really tired today, but it was nice to not just be dead on my feet from 7 last night.

I've read back a little, but wanted to post before I run out of time with DSs nap. I'm glad to hear there's been some good scan news and that illnesses are starting to go for LOs and mums. DS has had loads of colds already this year, but luckily they've mostly just meant lots of green slug snot!

Donna really hope the scan puts your mind at rest, a bleed must be so scary, I'm really glad I've never experienced one - I'm neurotic enough in early pg as it is!

HungryHorace · 21/11/2013 13:38

An early, not another!

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 21/11/2013 13:38

I'm glad you're getting another scan, Donna. :-)

And you'll get dated too, which is great. Make sure you update us when you've had it.

I really hope we do succeed this cycle. I've had enough of my body mucking me about!

OP posts:
HungryHorace · 21/11/2013 13:35

We do attempt every day around OV. Sometimes it's just not possible though, but we do try!

It's difficult with a very young baby though, sadly.

We fell with DD by DTD the 3 or 4 nights before a positive OPK and the day after. We were away for the day the day of the smiley so couldn't fit it in, so we know that works!

This time we DTD Sunday and Tuesday, positive OPK Weds but didn't quite get there last night. We did manage at about 5 this morning though and will probably try again today and tomorrow, and then Sunday to complete as close to SMEP as possible.

We know what gives us the best chance, but as you've only a 25% chance each month, it's not always possible to get pregnant.

All we can do is try. :-)

Not long til your scan mrs. Exciting!

Hi Guys sorry ive not been on much, I have to get a scan at 10 am tomorrow at the early mat unit. tbh i had to really push for it but i am so uptight theres no way my sanity could have lasted till 2nd Dec, so fx i'll get to see bub tomorrow and everything will be fine. Im scared shitless though Sad
windy gutted your ms has got worse and your work soumd like a bunch of shitheads?? poor you. xx
hungry i hope in 2 weeks time youll be getting a bfp you really deserve it!
mrs how are your keeping not long till you see u your bubba again!
sorry if ive missed anyone out.
will update tomorrow hopefully with good news xx

mrsm22 · 21/11/2013 12:37

Hi everyone, how is everyone doing? Sorry I wasn't on yesterday, always tired after day one at work. My DS is full of cold unfortunately and today I woke up with a sore throat and feel like I might be starting with cold. Hope it's not a bad one. Good news Hungry that you'll know a bit better where you are and can get down to DTD as much as poss. I know on here everyone says to DTD EOD but we DTD every day to be sure we didn't miss so if you can manage that I would.
Talking of the deed itself, it does feel different after having a baby and I get sore easily if it's too much. I also have a painful scar from my episiotomy which hurts when touched. I'm 10 weeks and 3 days today and counting down to see my baby again in first week of dec.
Utopian - I was starting to feel like you too and getting fed up with TTC but turned out I was already. You have to put the effort in and DTD as much as possible to give yourself the best chance . Even when I was really tired I'd try make sure we got a quick one in.
Donna - how are you?
Windy - sorry about your morning sickness. How many weeks are you now?

HungryHorace · 21/11/2013 11:44

If you're DTD a few times a week you're giving yourself the best chance of getting pregnant before you have an AF.

I understand the frustration though after my weird AF.

I'm sure it'll happen. But when was anyone ever patient when TTC?!

OP posts:
utopian99 · 21/11/2013 11:09

Yay for dd hungry!

I feel like we've sort of given up the effort on ttc. We're still dtd whenever we fancy it (a few times a week) but I have no idea if I am Oving and not poas to check every day which I probably should. Also keep forgetting the preseed.
Dh isn't bothered yet as it's only been a month or so, but I'm getting increasingly pissed off at the lack of af as it feels like without that there's no point trying. Ds is almost 11 months and only feeding 6am, midday and bedtime (nothing at night) so I really thought it would have come back by now.

Just being a bit Angry and mememe. Sorry.

HungryHorace · 21/11/2013 09:34

I'd be working to rule in your situation, Windy. No more doing favours. But that's just me!

Sorry your MS has increased, with your heartburn. I think it is linked to babies with a full head of hair later on. I'm not sure when they hire hair though!

We've had our first roll from front to back today. Once. No more attempts since, but it shows DD is capable. :-)

OP posts:
Windywinston · 20/11/2013 23:34

Sorry, I should clarify, I'm not pissed off about having to return part time, it's what I want to do if they'll let me and I can convince DH.

It's just frustrating that I'm expected to be uber flexible with work all the time. I take conference calls from home on my rare days off, I plan all my holiday around a corporate calendar that is fixed to suit other people but doesn't suit me, I can work crazy hours, travelled to London regularly for full days work up until i was 37 weeks pregnant last time, but they constantly change their policies to be less flexible with me. It's so unfair!

Windywinston · 20/11/2013 23:26

Yay to the smiley opk hungry!

I'm feeling rough. My mumps symptoms have all gone (blood tests were inconclusive), but my morning sickness has got loads worse. I thought I was doing much better this pregnancy as I was sick every single day of my last pregnancy. Sadly, it looks like as I enter my second trimester my morning/all day sickness is ramping up. I hate it so much! Also I've got mega heartburn already. Again this happened in my last pregnancy and DD was born with loads of hair so maybe there's something to the old wives' tale!

Sorry, I'm such a moaner! I know I'm very lucky and if this is what I have to experience in order to grow babies then so be it. I just get a bit fed up with feeling ill when I work full time.

Oh AND my frigging company has changed its maternity policy so I can't carry holiday over to the next year, so I have to take all my 2014 holiday entitlement before May! With DD I carried all my holiday over to the next year and used it to take a day off every week for 8 months when i came back from mat leave and it really eased my return to work. I guess that's made my decision to go back part time after this one! It's really pissed me off though.

Gosh I'm such a moaner today! Sorry xx

HungryHorace · 20/11/2013 19:43

Last cycle was 8 days out of 10. That was hard work, especially as DH was working nights.

Thankfully he's not this month so he won't struggle with energy so much!

It will be 5 days out of 6 though, the way it's fallen. I'm knackered already.

It's good to use OPKs in your situation the Lucy. Targeted DTD. :-)

OP posts:
lelly78 · 20/11/2013 19:20

Every day Shock... Even dh is sick of it already!

lucyjojo · 20/11/2013 18:53

Glad your DS is ok Kt, and isn't it funny how you think it's the worst thing in the world that your DC has, and the drs and nurses are soo relaxed about it. I remember when my DD was about 3 months old, there was some blood in her poo-ey nappy and I totally thought there was something awfully wrong with her, rushed her down to the drs, and he just shrugged it off, put it down to piles!! She was fine afterwards and has been ever since!
Hungry good luck with the SMEP plan, I thought about ding that this month, but it's not very easy to DTD with DH over the weekend as he's away such long hours, so will have to wait for it to fall mid week! Good luck though and I hope it works for you. I have been using preseed this month, so we are both trying something new - surely it has to happen for one of us!!
Kt I agree with you, it feels uncomfortable doing it so often for me Blush. It just sort of irritates and I feel a bit sore and delicate the next day or so, I definately couldn't do it everyday. EOD is even pushing it a bit!! DH and I were laughing so much last night at our necessity sex!!
Mrs its is rubbish but glad you are the same as me with your phobia!!! I don't feel quite so ridiculous about it now.
Donna hope everything is ok??
