Our brand spanking new thread full of luck, baby dust, BFPs and a few choice swear words.

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

No fish slap from me Nerdy - Rule 4 applies! Grin Fingers crossed for a sticky bean!

No f'ng clue what's up with this cycle; normally I ov around day 10-12. This time it wasn't until CD22. So technically, if this is one of my "normal" 27-day cycles, I'm due on tomorrow - but with ov this late, it should actually not be due until the 16th, which will be CD36. Hmm So if there's no AF by Friday, I probably ought to test - except I'd only be 7dpo so probably nothing would show up anyway.

Argh. WTF, body??

(Also, haven't been around much because I'm doing NaNoWriMo this year and am currently 19,000 words in and likely to hit the 50K target by the 15th at this rate....)

DaisyDoo44 · 06/11/2013 12:33

Oooh! nerdybird that's so exciting!!! Congrats. Am pleased for you - especially given your crazy long cycle... Yay, that gives me a glimmer of hope actually!

NerdyBird · 06/11/2013 11:25

I accept all fish slaps! I was trying very hard to wait but for some reason just did it this morning. We are out tonight so I think I must have had half a mind on whether I should drink or not.

Anyway. Did another IC at work, fainter line but still there and of course it is not fmu.
DTD wise I didn't do anything special I'm afraid. I had been carrying on using OPKs and made sure we DTD at least once when I got a positive on those but actually I'd been thinking to myself we probably weren't doing it enough.

But it's early days and who knows if this one will stick around, am trying not to be too excited, but don't want to worry too much either!

fedupofrainydays · 06/11/2013 10:53

Af arrived here. :(
Congrats nerdy !!! And after the no af show! I echo aly what did you do dtd wise??

alyant79 · 06/11/2013 10:40

I had a dream last night that I found out I was pregnant. an omen??

alyant79 · 06/11/2013 10:39

oooooooh nerdy!!!! that's fantabulous news.
for being naughty and not even waiting for 14dpo, let alone friday.
how often did you dtd around the critical time? curious since your cycle was so long, had you sort of given up? or were you still religiously dtd at every opportunity?

got my fingers crossed for you too thatssofunny

sal i'm glad that your chromosomes came back normal, and that DHs swimmers were looking a bit more perky. How long will you have to wait for the recurrent mc appointment?

NerdyBird · 06/11/2013 08:43

Well. Randomly tested this morning, as FF has me at 13dpo and I thought if they are right and I did ov, then surely it would show up if something had happened.

I got a BFP. This time standing for Bloody Faint Positive!
Only on internet cheapie though. Given that I've always had negatives from them before, I'm hoping its real.

Not sure if I should buy a FR at lunchtime?

NerdyBird · 05/11/2013 23:54

Hi all

ruggle I'd say a positive of any kind is a step in the right direction. Can't help you on the faintness though. My BFPs were all pretty clear and still ended in MC.

Commiserations to those with AF, although perversely I wish I could join you! Today was cd63...bored now!

sal glad your tests were ok and that you'll now get more investigations.

Sal1977 · 05/11/2013 21:25

I said the same thing to DH last night, that I was scared of getting pregnant again, but I want it soo much!

Our chromosome blood tests were normal! Thank God! And DH's swimmers morphology had gone from 1% to a whopping 4%! Haha...anyway, tests back mean that we'll now get an appointment at the recurrent miscarriage unit! Hooray!!

Hi,...it's been a while. Hope everyone is doing ok so far...

Had mc at the beginning of July, and it seemed to take forever to get back to anything resembling "normality". My cycles are still a tad erratic. Last ones were 21 days and 24 days. They used to be about 31-34 days long, so this has taken some getting used to. Any idea whether they are going to stay this way for long?

However, I do seem to be late. It could, of course, be nothing...and just my cycles getting back to how they used to be. I'm pretty sure I'm now on 14 dpo, though,...which is weird, since even in the short cycles, my lp is generally 12 days. Hmm I've had the weird "shit, am I pregnant?"-feeling since early last week...my ribs are hurting again and I'm slowly going off tea (I generally don't leave half a cup...ever).

I'm utterly terrified of testing and have no intention of doing so until I would at least be 6 weeks on - which is when I mc'ed last time. (At the same time, I'm expecting AF to announce herself any day...) The worst thing is, I'm possibly more worried about a positive result than a negative one. Sad Confused

alyant79 · 05/11/2013 21:11

I'm sorry ruggle I've got no clue. Haven't had a cp - only af turning up over and over again (since mc in feb).

Sorry for af daisy. I hope they do refer you for piece of mind. But try to remember that trying for a year is really common trying to remember that myself

moominlike · 05/11/2013 20:07

Hi Ruggle, I don't have any useful advice but really hope your positive sticks.

Sorry to hear that Daisydoo. We've only been going through this for 6 months and it's really hard, I can't imagine another 6. I do wonder if I should try harder, as in temping / ov sticks etc. On one hand I worry that I'll get obsessed/stressed about it if I do that, but then I feel like I'm getting that way anyway!

Ah well, tomorrow's another day.

DaisyDoo44 · 05/11/2013 18:30

Sorry ruggle I can't help. My experience in that regard hadn't been positive :-( hope it's a stick anomaly for you.

I have AF here. That's 10 cycles of ttc which includes 2 cp's. Think I'm all out of positivity. Got to do DH's tests now then go to GP together and I get the impression they'll refer us now as it's almost a year. Think I'm ready to embrace some drugs to get this thing started. Just Hope it helps. Feeling more and more these days that wonderful DS may be only child and I may have to learn to adjust to that.

Sorry for downbeat post!

Ruggle · 05/11/2013 16:31

Hello!

I posted on the previous incarnation of this thread not realising there's a new one.
Anyhow, I had a mmc at the end of July. Last Wednesday I got a faint positive on a FR stick (yep..I know it's not in the rules to test on a Weds, but it was the first day I had an inkling...after being hellishly grumpy all day). So the following day I tested again and it was a bit darker. I tested every day (yep, I know...I shouldn't have)...and got a 1-2 weeks on a CB digi. Well, since then, I have continued to get faint positives on FR, but tried a Superdrug stick which showed a line so faint it might not have even been there. Tried another, same thing. In a panic I bought some more FR sticks, and still yesterday it showed a faint (but definite) positive. I am saving my second CB digi until Friday.....but I have a feeling that it's going to end in AF returning, sadly.

Has anyone else experienced a run of faint positives for over a week that didn't end in a chemical or miscarriage?
I've done a lot of googling and it doesn't look good. Technically my period isn't late until tomorrow....but it does feel like it's coming.

wingandtalon · 05/11/2013 10:10

Welcome newbies, I hope that your stay is short.

Been away and just catching up with everyone.

Sorry to hear Af has arrived moomin, mine is due on Thursday but seems to be putting in an early appearance Sad. I was sure this was going to be our month (but then I am every month).

Good luck sal let us know what happens.

Sundance2007 · 05/11/2013 09:35

Sorry af got you moomin, I found the first few days of af always the most upsetting but hang in there.

Keeping fx for you aly, I hope this is going to be your lucky thread!

The vegan coming for Xmas is my sil's new bf, and did I also mention he is allergic to eggs??? FFS - you couldn't even make it up!!
I was all set to just give him a bread roll and water but apparently there is hope...he likes tomatoes and eats tomato sandwiches. I wonder if Jamie Oliver has a good recipe for that!!

alyant79 · 05/11/2013 09:18

I forgot to say earlier: misschord i'm suffering from the same FF affliction so can't help you Sad

alyant79 · 05/11/2013 09:00

sal good luck and don't forget to tell us what the doc says. Loving the DH and the bathroom story. haha. men are useless. completely useless.

a vegan who doesn't like vegetables?? what on earth will you fed them sundance? Water? that's safe.

sorry for af moomin. totally stay in bed today if you can.

temp shot up this morning, so I guess I ov'd yesterday. There's a tiny little part of me that hopes that actually I did ov when I normally do, had a very slow rise, and that this temp spike actually indicates implantation. I'm trying very, very, very hard to ignore that possibility though.
If I did ov yesterday we probably missed the fertile window, so I guess i'm out for this month, damnit.

moominlike · 05/11/2013 08:11

Well AF has arrived, I've got period pain and there's no paracetamol in the house. It's also raining. AIBU to wish I could just stay in bed?! Fed up of the disappointment. I wish I could go back to a time where all of this didn't matter so much.

Good luck today Sal.

fedupofrainydays · 05/11/2013 08:06

sundance was feeling v miserable this morning then your catering task did make me chuckle!! Hope you get af soon.
Good luck sal let us know how you get on
Re those with charts showing you haven't ovulated, mine did that but I 'discarded' one anomaly temp (morn after excessive wineage) and it decided then that I did in fact ovulate... If I now undiscard that temp it's still decided I've ovulated! Temps been on decline last few days so just waiting for af now...

Sundance2007 · 04/11/2013 22:59

Keep us 'posted' Sal!!

Sundance2007 · 04/11/2013 22:58

Welcome newbies, sorry you find yourselves here but you're in good company.

Good luck at the docs tomorrow Sal, hope it goes okay and you get some constructive help....keep us

4 weeks post mc and still no signs of af!! Don't you just live these wtf cycles?!

Oh yeah, and our quiet Christmas with no family that we've been planning for the last year, has now somehow ended up with us hosting Christmas Eve 'drinks and nibbles', I have to cater for 14 people, including 2 who don't eat carbs or sugar, 2 coeliacs and a vegan who doesn't like vegetables!!!

Sal1977 · 04/11/2013 18:14

Hello there ladybees!

CD11 here today so about to start shaggamuffin week tomorrow....can't be arsed wait! Grin

Off to the quacks in the morning to get chromosome blood results and 2nd lot of sperm results for DH, to see what the next step is for us. Am optimistic about the bloods, not so sure about his swimmers though!

He's done my head in today. Been sat in B&Q and Bathstore for a total of 4 hours today after he decided to pretty much rip our bathroom out on Friday (you have to sit/squat in the bath to have a shower - great) and after spending £1500 on a new bathroom, I came home to measure for tiles and he's measured it wrong so the whole thing won't bloody fit! What a knobhead!! I feel like battering him not shagging him!! Lol.

SuzyBean · 04/11/2013 17:35

Welcome all newbies!

Aly I have no idea what has gone on with this cycle for me either. I had ewcm from day 12 and a + opk on day 15. I had a temp drop too on day 14 just before the + opk and then a steady rise to today 23 and ff still doesn't think I've ovulated! So frustrated, dtd daily from day 12 to 17 then gave up as ewcm dried up and I was quite frankly knackered! Starting to get pmt symptoms so I don't think all the shagging is working anyway!

I've got a scan on Saturday to check that everything is ok and there isn't anything Undiagnosed going on eg endometriosis etc. I've got a feeling all will be ok, like my 21 day bloods which is good but doesn't make me any wiser as to why nothing's happening in the baby dept!

misschord · 04/11/2013 16:22

Maca is some kind of herb and the root is supposed to promote fertility, particularly in men (doubling motility in some cases) but also for women. Farmers use it for breeding animals! If you Google it there's lots of info and you can get capsules from health food shops or Ebay.

Somebody please persuade me that opening up the FertilityFriend app several times a day will not actually make the 2ww tick by any faster. Grin
