Our brand spanking new thread full of luck, baby dust, BFPs and a few choice swear words.

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

Congrats over that's so exciting! But appreciate how scared you must be feeling. Try step away from the sticks as will only drive yourself crazy looking at line darkness.

Fx for you too miss p

Misspositivity · 23/11/2013 22:00

Thanks for the best wishes folks. AF still missing in action. I don't have any tests in house so won't test in the morning. Or can you keep FMU until after lunch when the shops open or do the hormones leave pee when they hit the air??? (maybe a stupid question).

Probably best to leave until 12dpo on Monday.

alyant. I know what you mean about not wanting DD to be an only child. I hope it happens for you really soon.

sal. How are you getting on?

OveranxiousUnderated · 23/11/2013 20:12

Oh and I also spent lots of time cuddling my best friends newborn baby as someone once said on here it's meant to stimulate something somewhere!! X

OveranxiousUnderated · 23/11/2013 20:09

Thanks everyone, I know there's not much I can do just so hard not to obsess. Been looking at my data and I don't think I ovulated until day 17/18 and today is day 30 so I am possibly only 12dpo. If AF doesn't arrive tomorrow then I am officially late as I never go over 29/30 days. Praying and keeping everything crossed!

Interestingly I did have a few changes to my regular ttc routine this month. Now I am not suggesting you all go out and get antidepressants because I'm certain that's not good advice! But I can't help but think they did have a positive effect on my mental state as this has been the calmest, tear free month I've had this year. I have stopped taking them since the BFP as advised. We also didn't start dtd until cd14 (then 15,16,17 and 18) as we always start every other day from cd8 usually. I also stopped taking any pregnacare tablets etc and just took plain old folic acid every day and evening primrose oil from days 1-15. I also gave up religious temping and was just taking it occasionally for pure interest but I never really noticed any significant changes, although its now always around 36.9/37.2. But who knows, I will never know, and it may not even work out, just thought I'd share.

Missp...temp rise sounds promising...I really hope you get a BFP.

HollyBen · 23/11/2013 19:30

Fingers crossed missp sounds good

alyant79 · 23/11/2013 13:02

oh missp that's sounding so hopeful!!!!

over hang in there. there's nothing to be done at this point, it's just a waiting game now. So hard not to worry.... i've got no helpful advice to stop the worrying except to keep yourself busy. Hard when you're feeling rubbish.

Last night my friends were talking about how lonely it is to be an only child. made me feel really sad for my DD. oh I so want to give her a sister. or brother. freudian slip there, but it's true that I would prefer a girl Blush. although would be happy with anything obviously! come on body.

Misspositivity · 23/11/2013 11:24

over. Hang on in there. As someone said previously today you are pregnant - focus on that. Hugs.

sundance. I hope AF comes soon and you can get going again

Well AF due today and nothing - no spotting and temp had a big rise this morning. I am technically 10dpo and got a BFN this morning. Bought a first response but turns out it wasn't an early one. Scared to get my hopes up but just maybe! B

daftgeranium · 23/11/2013 09:29

over congrats! and as others have said, it shows everything's working which is good....

sundance keeping my fingers crossed for you that AF turns up soon, I know so much how you feel......

HollyBen · 23/11/2013 09:28

oops dropped phone and posted too early. What I was about to say was sorry to hear you are still waiting on AF sundance. Me too. it is the pits Sad

HollyBen · 23/11/2013 09:24

Hi over. it is completely normal to feel like this. I know this is easy for me to say, but step away from the tests! As awful as it is at this stage what will be will be. Will you be given an early scan? Perhaps contact your midwife for support? Whatever you do keep in talking anout it. There is always someone to listen here. I will keep everything crossed for you (except my legs or I will never get s BFP) Wink

Sorry to hear )

OveranxiousUnderated · 23/11/2013 07:56

Thanks for the good wishes everybody, need all the luck I can get. I swore I wouldn't drive myself insane this time around but I have already started Hmm I am worrying myself sick already. Want to get DH to hide all my pg tests but then I will regret it and feel like I have no control.

I did an IC cheapie last night and this morning, and the line appears to be getting fainter (I know, I know!) so now I am predicting the worst...I must have done about 7 tests so far...they were def darker before. I just did a cb digital and it says pregnant 1-2 weeks, which is correct because I am only due on my period today or tomorrow at the latest. How do I stop obsessing? I need to not test for at least 2 days but I just can't help myself...can anyone offer any advice?

I am also so ill atm with a horrendous cough and cold, been up basically all night on the iPad, currently sitting on the sofa watching coronation street. Insomnia doesn't help the worrying thoughts whizzing through my head either.

Hope everyone is doing okay, and brimming with posifrickintivity.

Floweroct · 22/11/2013 13:54

Congrats over and fab news about the scan nerdy.

Hopefully ov this weekend so been dtd every other day at the moment!

NerdyBird · 22/11/2013 13:16

Congrats over, looks like you are on your way! My tests definitely got darker, and CB digis showed the right amount of weeks.
Fingers crossed for anyone waiting for AF.

Had a scan today and ok so far.

cosmickitten · 22/11/2013 12:55

Just popping in to congrats to over the next 8 weeks will be hard but remember today you are pregnant.

Thinking of you all, I know that it sounds trite but its true. Ttc is heartbreaking, FTC after a loss is even worse. Keeping my fingers crossed for lots more bfp in the next few weeks.

Sundance2007 · 22/11/2013 12:50

Congrats over I'm keeping everything crossed for you.

Good luck as well to those holding out for bfp in the next couple if days.

I'm still waiting for af...how boring. Saw some friends last night who cried when they heard about our 2nd miscarriage. Bit odd comforting someone who is crying for you, but still sweet I suppose.

alyant79 · 22/11/2013 12:10

yay over that's fantastic news! as you say, even if it doesn't stick (but hopefully it will) at least you know that everything is in working order. great!

missp and sal that's sounding hopeful... will have my fingers crossed for both of you for the next couple of days.

Fairypants · 22/11/2013 12:00

Yay! Fingers crossed overanxiousGrin

Sal1977 · 22/11/2013 10:50

Yay anxious !!! Sit tight lovely, nothi g you can do now but wait it out!!

AF due tomorrow, but I'm of the not testing til the day AF is due brigade! Had a rise in temp today but feeling a bit campy I think not that I'm over analysing or anything stupid like that so not expecting a BFP this month!

One of the hairdressers at work pulled me aside this morning and gave me a crystal to help with my fertility I'll try anything which is a sweet thing to do. All the girls know the full situation and even cover for me when I 'nip out to the wholesaler' race home for a shag.

overanxious. Hooray. Great news. Fx it sticks.

cam. Nothing wrong with a bit of premier inn. The city has come a long way. I love nights out in Belfast now. There is a different feel about it.

Well after my temp drop yesterday it went back up a bit this morning. Still crampy but no sitting yet. Will be on knicker watch today lol. Too early to test for me at 9dpo. FF says test Sunday so if nothing happens tomorrow will go for it. No doubt I will start spotting today:-((

HollyBen · 22/11/2013 09:25

How exciting overanxious That sounds really positive. Fingers and toes and everything thing else crossed for you xx

OveranxiousUnderated · 22/11/2013 09:12

Morning Smile

BFP for me this morning (and 4 yesterday) but extremely faint. Feeling extremely anxious, refusing to believe anything right now. I am due on tomorrow so I suppose a faint BFP is expected but I never thought I'd see a second line. Even if this doesn't work out at least I know something has got through my remaining tube because I was starting to think I was only ovulating from my tubeless side. I am terrified its going to be another ectopic. DH being very sensible refusing to even acknowledge positive test and telling me to 'forget about it for now' hmmm yeah right haha.

Got a digital test in my drawer but trying to save it as long as possible...fingers crossed for some more BFPs today.

Seaside - I know what you mean about it being upsetting that this experience taints what should be happy moments for you. Totally there with you. As Aly said I think it's fair to deal with it however you need to. I hate scan pics.

Ooo, MissP - I know I'm doing that 'I'm Irish' thing but my parents are both from Belfast and I bl00dy love the place! Had our mini-moon there (in the premiere inn in titanic quarter, I'm classy me!).

I'm hitting BD week soon. Yippee.

Misspositivity · 21/11/2013 19:20

seaside. Totally understand how you feel. It's hard and I know you want to be an excited supportive auntie but you def don't need to look at a scan picture. I live on the same road as a big maternity hospital in Belfast I constantly see people walking around with green maternity folders. Make me so sad.
fairy. Ever since i had my mc I have been put in the - must be trying for a baby bracket and totally sidelined. It's crap but our time will come again
alyant have to say my few months break from TTc did south good for my head and our relationship. I felt quite free and not bogged down with it all though there was a niggle in my head and I was wasting cycles lol.

Fairypants · 21/11/2013 18:20

I really hope it's not af missp, but at least your DH sound nice and supportive.
I think it's totally understandable that you find it difficult seaside. You are being really strong where you need to be (to her face) and sensible where it doesn't matter ( she will never know whether you keep the pic so it would be causing you pain for nothing).

I feel a bit like I should give up this month as the dates aren't great but know I'd regret it a later date.
On the positive side, I really love my tiny car and each month without a bfp means another month I get to enjoy it.Grin
On the negative side, I have been completely sidelined at work due to my mc and won't be able to progress even if I don't get a bfp so I'm rather annoyedAngry

alyant79 · 21/11/2013 13:22

oh no missp. at 8 dpo it is still possible that it could be implantation, but probably better to prepare yourself for the worst. Sad

seaside of course you feel jealous. How could you not?? completely agree that deleting the scan pic was for the best.

CD7 here. should be starting to gear up for shag fest but just dont' feel like it at the moment. So tempted to give up - not sure how much longer I can withstand this not-getting-pregnant for. Not give up in the sense of start using contraception, but give up actively charting and monitoring etc etc, forget everything I know about fertile days and not care for a few months....... I've decided that if i'm not pg by the new year then that's what I'll do.
Have just heard that a friend of mine is pg. She had been trying for 2+ years and in the end had given up because she couldn't handle the stress anymore. Not entirely sure how long she tried for after "giving up" but think it was still a few months - but a few months of less stress and more emotional happiness. Tempting...
