Our brand spanking new thread full of luck, baby dust, BFPs and a few choice swear words.

The Rules...

(1) A lady may only POAS on a Friday.
(2) Friday means the day that everyone calls Friday in the time zone where you spent the night.
(3) Rule (1) does not apply to POA-OPK-S, UNLESS they are being illegitimately used as surrogate HCG detectors, in which case Rule (1) most definitely does apply
(4) Rule (1) does not apply following a BFP because if you want to waste £25 a day POADigiS that's your prerogative
(5) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady is POAS in an attempt to get a BFN to prove she can start DTD with intent
(6) Rule (1) does not apply if a lady wants for unknown reason to pee on an actual stick, like a twig or some such, if that lady is unexpectedly caught short whilst tramping in the forest looking for bears.
(7) These rules (including Rule (1)) are subject to the change at any time if the ladies of the Posifrickentivity thread decide on a whim come up with empirical evidence to prove that it is luckier to POAS on any other day of the week
(8) Violators of Rule (1) shall be subject to fish throwing.

And as a grand finale, why not pledge to NEVER POAS before 14DPO?

cam 8 weeks to wedding. Trying to eat clean and hitting to gym like a demon.
seaside. It's lovely to have your mums support. Mums worry no matter what age we are.

SeasideLily · 30/11/2013 19:44

Well done for diet success!

I suppose one massive positive out of this whole shit-storm is actually how supportive people have been, esp my mum. Normally sex is a no-go topic for us, but I think she's just so desperate to see me happily knocked up it's brought us closer. She's always emailing me forum threads and ectopic info, I know she spends ages online researching in my behalf, it's very touching.

I even came totally clean in Oz on the first massive party night when everyone was asking me why I wasn't drinking, just told them I was trying to get pg. Everyone was so sweet about it, had loads of drunk people coming up to me later wishing me a speedy positive pg test!

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 30/11/2013 17:15

Hey guys,

Massive congrats Over - wishing you all the best for a healthy happy nine months.

Ha ha seaside.

Sal - sorry Mother Nature is being a bit of a cow to you at the moment.

Well done on the weight loss MissP. How long until the wedding? Am 24 pounds off my happy weight (faints having worked that out for first time having just allowed it to creep on).

I've just finished a week of consistent shagging. Typically I was using the new clearblue advanced digital stick which has simply flashed for two weeks (it claims to flash for two days before peak). No peak to be seen (yet) but pretty sure I've ov'ed by now. so I think it's a bit shite (disappointed as other cb products have worked quite well). So I think I'm now in 2ww but no clue really.

Fairypants · 30/11/2013 17:03

Well I think both your mums sound supportive seaside and sal. It's great you can share (even if a bit awkward at times).
Holly - I hope you've gone quiet with good news.
I'm doing smep this month. Downloaded the booklet to my kindle and DH actually read itSmile
I got a positive opk today so starting shag week now.

Misspositivity · 30/11/2013 11:03

seaside. Bless your mum. Most helpful!!!
sal. If only banging away guaranteed a sticky one we would be well on our way.

Not temping this month (a break for analysing will do no harm) ovulate around the same time each month anyway.
Every other day.

The good news is I have lost 5 pounds on my wedding diet and exercise regime pleased with myself as have been doing body pump too and tend to gain weight muscle.
Only another 7 pounds to go before I am at my happy weight. See this would never happen if I was pregnant.

sundance good luck for results
sal. Good luck for app next week

Guys. I salute your sewing I am not going to even try useless

Off I go back to looking after toddler with croup (it's like having a pet seal)

Sal1977 · 29/11/2013 14:51

Haha..good old mums!

Mine told me to just keep banging away! Er...thanks mum, will do!

hahahahahah seaside Grin

SeasideLily · 29/11/2013 14:15

A flying post, but I just had to share this. My MUM of all people emailed it to me!!! My body is truly public property now.

I will have to be veeery desperate before I try this one: the Instead Cup.

My mum. From my mum...

alyant79 · 29/11/2013 10:58

dammit another pregnancy announcement. Envy
she hasn't actually had her 12 week scan yet and is very nervous because she knows what happened to me and a few other friends - so now i'm horribly nervous for her as well as feeling sick with jealousy.

alyant79 · 29/11/2013 09:16

poas report from anyone??

still waiting for ov here. thought that it was yesterday by my symptoms but my temp wasn't high this morning although it could just be a slow rise month.... dtd tonight as well to be safe I guess. ho hum.

After staring at my fabric and a blank piece of paper all last night I think I finally know how i'm going to make my skirt - I completely changed my plan to something I haven't tried before. eeek!

have just googled the polar express and it does sound fun! Are you going to weary your pjs too sal?
We're off to brighton for the weekend to visit a friend/see the sights. First time i've been and SO looking forward to it

OveranxiousUnderated · 29/11/2013 09:12

Good luck to anyone poas ing today.

Did another digital yesterday and it now says 2-3 weeks, slightly reassuring but also got the 2-3 followed by 3+ when pg with ectopic so all too aware that everything can still go horribly wrong...still waiting for scan letter to come through, it's only been 5 days but feels like a lifetime. Keep prodding my boobs to see if they're sore yet! Worrying about lack of symptoms but I am still just short of 5 weeks I think so maybe too early.

x

fedupofrainydays · 29/11/2013 07:26

Hello! Anyone POAS today? Good luck to those who are. I should have been but as I tested yesterday (fish slaps please) for various reasons I'm not allowed (and don't see the point) today. Bfn. I believe I will never see two lines again. Wish I had kept my bfp so I could look at it sometimes to know it was real and they do exist!

Glad af is out the window sal and polar express sounds ace!! The wee in the commode made me chuckle.

Also crap at sewing. Last thing I made was a cushion at school in home ec lessons (remember those?!) but wish I was good at it!

Sal1977 · 28/11/2013 16:50

They asked us to go in for chromosome results only to be told they're normal (as were all tests - except low morph spermies) and as all results were there we could be referred to the RMC.

Had a big gap at work today so bunked off to get a head start on the cleaning as DS and kiddiwinklesare arriving tomorrow afternoon for the weekend and flat resembles a building site still!

We're off on the Polar Express Devon on Saturday where you have to wear your PJs! Wish I had my own brood to take with but Bruce and nephew come a close second! Google it, it sounds amazing!!

AF staring to leave the building here after a gunky couple of days, so FX all is back to normal albeit a few days behind schedule. Appt at hospital on Tuesday so will report back to base on what happens there. Am I in pole position for a RMC referral at the minute or has anyone else been yet?? X

Happy Thursday indeed - it does seem quite cheery in here today which is lovely. I've already added crochet starter kit to my XMas shopping list - I've been meaning to teach myself for ages but never got around to it. My last experience with a sewing machine resulted in wonky curtain hems so leaving that well alone for now.

Af has been and gone, thank goodness, but feeling massively apprehensive about how long it's going to take before I'm up-duffed again. 5 cycles last time and even that felt like forever.

The results of my chromosone testing from mc are in...I got a letter from the doctor yesterday asking me to go in and talk about them. Sounds quite terrifying but not sure what to expect.

Anyone gearing up for POAS Friday tomorrow? Our 14 week pregnant friend is coming to stay for the weekend...fun fun fun. Soft cheese, pate and alcohol anyone??

Handsfullandlovingit · 28/11/2013 13:56

aly I love the sound of your skirt, what an amazing idea! Will you post photos once it's done? It is a bit refreshing to talk about something cheery on this thread, thank you for changing the subject a little.

HollyBen, I can't believe you are still waiting. I can't imagine the frustration. I do hope things sort themselves out soon. Tender nipples? Queasy? Ooooh!

I reckon you could get up to speed with sewing pretty swiftly. A course sounds amazing, but I have improved a great deal with can't sew at all without the help of Gertie's Guide to Better Sewing and the Encyclopedia of Sewing Techniques by Wendy Gardiner.

Happy Thursdays to everyone.

HollyBen · 28/11/2013 13:51

alyant I have been here before symptom wise during my marathon wait. However at lunch I hit the shops and treated myself to some bargain shoes (£85 reduced tp £49) and a pack of superdrug hpts!!!! I think I will crack one open tomorrow

I probably vould have a go on my own (if i had a machine). I am particularly interested in making curtains and blinds which I don't feel so confident off

alyant79 · 28/11/2013 11:41

hollyben it's quite easy to teach yourself I think - the interwebs is a wonderful source of knowledge.

tender nipples, queasy and emotional - sounds good for bfp???

HollyBen · 28/11/2013 10:37

posted too early - darn phone!

.... feel quite queasy and emotional. Been here before but feeling positive that something will happen after gp tests.

HollyBen · 28/11/2013 10:34

Wow aren't you a talented bunch! I would love to be able to sew properly. I was looking at doing a course but mc got in the way. You have inspired me to check when the next one is - new schedule being release next week.

I am still waiting for AF (11 weeks now). Currently have tender nipples

alyant79 · 28/11/2013 09:11

oh boo hiss sal. but yay for that commode, who would have thought that it'd come in handy one day?

oooh a vintage skirt, that sounds lovely handsfull. i'm about to start a skirt too, but i'm going to self draft the pattern. simple A-line with patch pockets so no biggie, but i'm going to sew together a whole bunch of different fat quarters to make it exciting and colourful - I hope! very excited to start, it's been in my head for ages. Have almost finished a cape but waiting for buttons to come from etsy. I hate waiting of all types, including the 2ww.

Handsfullandlovingit · 27/11/2013 18:02

Aw boo Sal, AF to contend with and no loo. Things can only get better, right? I love the image of a vintage loo, handy!

Moomin I reckon you can knock off and put your feet up. I use my old persona contraception jobby which tells you when you ovulate. 4 days later it gives me a green light, which means no risk of pregnancy. Much respect for the marathon you have been through!

Aly, I have been cheering myself with my sewing machine as well! I am halfway through a warm winter skirt from an old 40s pattern and it is coming out drop dead gorgeous, I can't wait to wear it. I can only do this because I have no bump, which is a tiny bit cheering I guess.

I'm now on my first two week wait since August. Not a happy place to be.

Sal1977 · 27/11/2013 16:00

And so it arrives! Oof! Grim.

Knocked off work early excited about seeing the new flooring down in the bathroom and shower up etc. instead, no builder, toilet in the hallway and the flat STINKS of shit from the soil pipe. Gross. Plus, I needed a wee so badly! So, I have an antique commode that we use as a stool that used to be my great grandmothers...wheeled it into the bedroom and had a lovely comfortable wee in there! Haha

OP posts:
alyant79 · 27/11/2013 09:45

holy moly moomin that's a lot of dtd!! I admire your stamina.
are you temping? if so you should see the temp spike to show that you've ovulated - you can stop dtd then and give yourself a rest.

sorry for AF missp. that's such a bugger.

sal good work on such a productive day (and sorry for the evil spotting). I agree that it's much better to do something productive instead of wallowing in misery. I get my sewing machine out - my self-made wardrobe is increasing slowly but surely, as is my DDs.

hi triple! interesting about the lack of ovulation dip this cycle. wouldn't it be nice to know exactly what's going on in there?

moominlike · 26/11/2013 22:59

Hi everyone, I've been mainly lurking of late but just wanted to say that I get a lot of comfort from this thread. It makes me feel less alone, not to mention less crazy for feeling the way I do sometimes!

Is anyone else finding it harder with Christmas coming up? That probably sounds weird but I would love to have some good (no, amazing) news to tell my family when I see them. I know that's putting more pressure on us which isn't helpful. On the plus side AF is due before all of our xmas parties/lunches/drinks so if it isn't our month I can drown my sorrows Grin
Am on cd22 today and have managed to dtd almost daily since cd6 so it won't be for lack of trying!

Something I'd like to ask...I'm only using the FF app at the moment which I appreciate is pretty basic but it shows today as my last potential ovulation day - should we keep going until AF is due anyway? My cycles are usually around 31 days. Would be grateful for any advice!

Feeling quite positive for a change, I think all the pre xmas socialising is a good distraction. Plus it's our anniversary tomorrow and we've got a weekend away to celebrate so lots to look forward to. Makes me count my blessings too :)

Sending lots of posifrickentivity x

Handsfullandlovingit · 26/11/2013 22:23

Aw Miss sorry to hear about AF, I do hope it isn't too horribly painful. And Sal, I'm so sorry to hear it's started. I am all admiration for your efforts in the bathroom - there is nothing like fresh grout in your shower to perk you up (well, the opposite applies if your grout is grotty!) First day of the new cycle and all that cheery nonsense... Whoop whoop whoop! I have always had crampy thighs and lower back during AF, unpleasant isn't it?

I am 2 days past ovulation and thoroughly worn out by our sterling efforts. I now have a sick toddler who will keep me up all night so I am going to toddle off and get some sleep while I can.

Night all. x
