This all new to me so just looking for people I can chat with who know as much as me. I am 22 years old and me and my Husband have been thinking about having children for over a year now. I don't know any of the the abbreviations on here so I might not understand everything you are trying to say but I'm sure I will pick it up quickly. I have nieces and a nephew so know a few things about pregnancy and things but not so much on the conception considering none of them were planned.

I had my first period since my Depo in September and have just finished my 2nd. I had my last Depo Aug 2012 so its been a good few months for my body to get back to normal, after 5 years of being on contraceptives.

I know I haven't asked anything specific just thought it would be nice to speak to someone in the same boat as me. :)

I've got the dog, not done the wedding yet though - we had it booked but interfering family ruined it for us. Maybe we will elope Wink xx

Howly · 28/10/2013 21:32

Its my DH birthday Thurs do had to make a load of cakes for him to take into work! Getting to grips with a piping bag having been inspired by GBBO!

Babies EVERYWHERE my facebook is all babies, weddings and dogs! I've done the wedding so over all the countdown and planning shenanigans, the baby is in the pipeline and I am desperate for a dog but my conscience keeps getting the better of me, it wouldn't be fair to leave a dog all day alone whilst we both work full time!

ReginaFelange22 · 28/10/2013 20:59

Haha I was going to bake tonight too!! Do you not feel like everyone seems to be talking about them too? Even people I wouldn't think would talk about it has made comments and I've had to bite my tongue!!

Howly · 28/10/2013 20:53

We've had lots of people discussing babies with us and my mother is always dropping baby and maternity stuff into conversations and i'm like 'where the hell did that come from'! I think a lot of her work colleagues have all become grandmothers and she wants to join the club! If we get pregnant my xmas, I know it will still be a while til our first scan, but I will tell both sets of parents, they don't like being kept out of the loop. Not telling anyone else though until scan date! OMG I am so excited! Just been doing some baking too and that makes me feel maternal!

SaraRB123 · 28/10/2013 20:48

I know how you feel. We've not even been trying a week and I'm dying to tell my friends - particularly the ones with children for advice and just general chat. I find these threads a god send in that respect xx

ReginaFelange22 · 28/10/2013 20:21

I reckon the worst thing to do is tell people cos then it's a constant, oh are you? And the look at the stomach! We'll prob keep it quiet until the time comes that we have a scan picture. So hard and really have to stop myself blurting it out lol!! x

SaraRB123 · 28/10/2013 20:02

Hibou - me too!! I actually caught my other half looking at nursery furniture last night!!! Bless him. Its just such an exciting time, and its very hard to resist looking at baby things :-) xx

Hibou7688 · 28/10/2013 19:45

We haven't told anyone either.. Well i've told my sister i've came off the pill but she won't mention it to mum or dad so i'm safe! I'm 25, will be 26 in june.. Bf is almost 30. I'm so obsessed I find myself looking at lots of baby related stuff.. Prams, beds, names!! Definitely ott!

SaraRB123 · 28/10/2013 19:38

Yes it does become obsessive, people in work are constantly asking me when it will be my turn for a little bundle, as lots of people at work are currently sporting bumps or babies!! x

Howly · 28/10/2013 19:32

I'm 26, 27 in July! I am excited, not started actively trying just yet as recovering from having my appendix out last week so dtd is a little uncomfortable!! My DH is very much looking forward to the trying bit I think! You do become obsessed about things like; when do you tell people? When do you start to show? etc...

SaraRB123 · 28/10/2013 19:11

Pft too young! As if! I think its a perfect age - I am 26 - 27 in March, and my other half is 32. We've been together 10 years. The thing is, when the time is right, its right. So no matter how long you've been together, or how old you are, if the time is right then its perfect. The rest is just detail. Its such an exciting time! I just wish I wasn't as impatient as I am! xx

Howly · 28/10/2013 19:06

Ditto on what SaraRB123 says, we have not told anyone as we don't want the pressure of people asking if we are pregnant yet, I think it would be nicer as a surprise for our parents too. My MIL and FIL would probably try and talk us out of it too as they deem 26 and 27 too young (they didnt have my DH until 33 plus!)

SaraRB123 · 28/10/2013 18:58

Ha! Yes blaming him sounds like a plan, my other half gets the blame for everything ha ha. I haven't evenbeen off the pill for a week yet and I'm already becoming hyterically obsessed with it. Its taken me so long to get to the point that I'm ready to start trying for a baby, and now I've made the decision, I want it to happen like yesterday! This thread is GOD SEND - no one in our families or friends circle know that we are trying, didnt want the added pressure of people having a quick glance at my stomach followed by a little wink everytime I see them. This is just somewhere I can come to just chat about it whenever I feel like I want to - which at the minute is all the time! xx

Hibou7688 · 28/10/2013 18:52

I'm the same! I can't wait for anything! I was hassling bf to start trying this month but he's being sensible and saying no! I'll just blame him if we don't hit the perfect time!

SaraRB123 · 28/10/2013 18:04

I'm trying so hard just to forget about it and let nature take it's course, but it seems now that we've definitely made the decision, I can't think of anything else and it's like an obsession!! I've just bought some opks online to give them a whirl, I would really love to be pregnant by Christmas - what a present to give our families, a stick that I've peed on with a nice blue line hahaha xxx

ReginaFelange22 · 28/10/2013 17:57

Haha yeh! I'm not the best at being patient! Just trying to put it to the back of mind and think it will take care of itself! xx

SaraRB123 · 28/10/2013 17:49

Tell me about it. It's do frustrating that it's out of your hands. There's not really much you can do about it, other than be patient, which is not my strongest point!! Xx

ReginaFelange22 · 28/10/2013 17:41

It's so bizarre that you try for so long not to to fall pregnant. Then as soon as you decide to, your mind goes into overdrive thinking about that and that only!! x

SaraRB123 · 28/10/2013 16:34

Hi Hibou - so pleased theres a few teachers on here who know exactly how I'm thinking about trying to time this! But in answerto your question I will carry on trying - Its taken me a good few years to even feel any where near ready where as my partner has been asking me to think about it for years (we've been together almost 10) so now that I've made the decision, I'm so so impatient! I wanted it to happen like yesterday! Its funny, I said on here yesterday (somewhere, maybe on another thread) We have tried not to get pregnant for almost 10 years, now its all I can think about! Please bear with me with abbreviations...I have absolutely no clue what they are!! xx

Regina - we are pretty much in exactly the same boat time wise - I take - or should I say 'took'! - my pill in the evenings, and I took my last one on Thursday night...fingers crossed it happens for us! xx

Hibou7688 · 28/10/2013 16:27

Regina and sara.. Another teacher here! Also wanting a september/oct baby. Going to start from Nov onwards! Fingers crossed for us all!
I came off the pill at the end of aug, so far i've had a 28 day and then a 31 day cycle so not too awful.
Bought some cheapy opks from amazon but sometimes they don't even work so I have to wait til i need to pee again, can be annoying! Do you think you'll carry on ttc if you don't hit the magical sept/oct baby window? Or will you wait til next year?

KathAP80 · 28/10/2013 15:35

After a month of reading here and there, this is my first post. Exciting.

I am 33 and TTC for the 1st time since September. I came off the pill back in April/May and seemed to get AF back in my life pretty quick but first cycle we weren't successful. My two sister's have 8 kids between them so I have advice on tap, but would love to chat to people who are going through the same at the moment.

My cycle seems to be between 29 & 33 days and I have no idea when I ovulate really. Period tracker doesn't seem to be that accurate for me as I had no signs that I am ovulating when it predicted last week (shrug). We decided to go with dtd every other to every couple of days in the hope of getting pregnant. Fingers crossed and trying not to be impatient Grin. At least it's fun.

Newlywed2013 · 28/10/2013 13:39

3 days late just poas and negative maybe I am not as regular as I thought I was! :-(

Howly · 28/10/2013 08:54

During my withdrawal bleed I thought I was pregnant, my body just went a little mad with hormones! All is good now apart from irregular cycle and flow!

ReginaFelange22 · 28/10/2013 07:12

Friday was my last one. :)

SaraRB123 · 27/10/2013 23:03

ReginaFelange22 when did you come off the pill? X
