Hope you all find me here, t'is a bit lonely.

OP posts:
misdee · 04/03/2004 09:37

i think we can manage that. think dh will be pleased as well lol.

BigBird · 04/03/2004 09:34

misdee - try and have a go on days 10, 12, 14 and 16 if you can manage it !

Azure · 04/03/2004 08:50

Misdee, ovulation should be around day 14 of a 28 day cycle, so start BDing a few days before that. Sperm can last for up to 4 days (I think), but eggs have a quick life cycle. Some say that it is better to BD every other day rather than every day - quality rather than quantity. Cushion under the bum for 20 minutes after BDing also recommended. Best of luck for this month!

ChaCha · 04/03/2004 08:36

Thanks bunny and azure, will still keep trying. Baby dust to all ((())))

misdee · 04/03/2004 08:00

ok, quick questions (sorry if i sound thick). AF started yesterday, so when is the best time to BD? what days should we be trying really hard? cycle is around 28days, tho is a few days early this time.

Moomin · 03/03/2004 23:17

I'm not going to test early because I can't be doing with the hassle and fuss. I shall just see if I come on Saturday and if nothing by Sunday afty/evening, I'll test then. I'm very regular so I shall know something's up if AF hasn't arrived by then.
Still not feeling very hormonal, which I usually am by now at this time of the month. I think it's to do with the reflexology, though, as I had a session last night. Dh thinks it's a great improvement on the usual PMT nightmare! He also reminded me that I didn't have any pg symptoms with dd until a week after AF was due, so I won't read anything into any twinges I might have between now and Saturday. It's so strange - I feel so much calmer about it all this month - definitely less stressed - hurrah!

bunny2 · 03/03/2004 22:46

Azure - do it! somehow they can make sense of the most erratic temps. ChaCha, I never get 3 hours sleep. Ds comes into our bed every night at about 1.00 am and he wriggles, scratches and kicks all night long. I usually wake @ 1.00, then 3ish or 4, then again at 6. BUT Fertility Friend still seems to sort the data out and pinpoint my ov.

Moomin and Bluestar - get testing and let us know! Good luck to both of you.

Hi there. I find temping really irritating - this is my second month of trying (started CD7 last month). My temperature is all over the place and I've often woken up thinking it's morning, taken my temperature (in the dark) and discovered it's 1.30am or something. But, it did show an ovulation surge last month, which was nice to see (if unsuccessful). Haven't tried putting the information on Fertility Friend yet, but it sounds as if others recommend it.

ermentrude · 03/03/2004 21:18

I never have 3 hours unbroken sleep. I am persisting with my first month of temping - on cd 17 now and still have a rocky mountain chart

ChaCha · 03/03/2004 21:16

I cant do the BBT thing. I keep waking up in the night to use the bathroom!!! TCOYF manual says you should have been asleep for 3 hours. I cant do it!! Help!!

Kay1 · 03/03/2004 21:06

meant to say - i have used pg tests - in fact loads of them - but not tried the cheap ones from this site!!

Kay1 · 03/03/2004 21:04

beckief - glad it went well - doc sounds great.

mum2ela - i haven't used pg tests but use this site for opk's and they have loads of cheapie tests which seem to be ok. I never know whether to keep testing or not, it is painful to keep getting neg results but sometimes i just need to know..and NOW! here

good luck to all those bding tonight!! I'm on cd 6 and still logging those temps - trying to keep positive despite very negative vibes coming from dh. He's never been that keen on the whole idea tbh and as time goes on it just becomes more of an issue. We have dr appt next week and i think that's making us both a bit anxious.

bluestar · 03/03/2004 15:42

Moomin, only a day behind you, AF due Sunday, like you, not sure what way it will go this month. Was extremely tired yesterday and went to sleep in the afternoon and feel tired today, but could just be that I have a cold. Oh well only a few days to go to know one way or the other.

BeckiF, glad the dr apt went well.

Mum2Ela · 03/03/2004 13:39

Day 57 for me today. BFN last Thursday. Just still waiting and waiting . . . . . . . .

May buy a bumper pack of PG tests on the internet. Which are the best to buy in bulk and where from?

When should I test again, or am I putting mysekf through unnecessary grief?

Mum2Ela · 03/03/2004 13:37

Glad to hear that you are feeling positive today - I think you will keep it up now - at least now you know you can go ahead with IVF if that is what you want to do.

Quackers · 03/03/2004 11:14

That's not good azure, especially as you've reprogrammed. My advice is to call the helpline, they are very informative and will know what to do. I'm surprised it didn't ask you to test. IT's usually day 6 and then day 9 or 10 isn't it depending on your cycles. Hope you get some answers!

Azure · 03/03/2004 11:10

All sounds very promising Moomin. Lord knows we are overdue some good news on this thread.

Question for any Persona gals - last cycle was my first since reprogramming on Persona, so double dose of test sticks. That cycle lasted 23 days and I had a double line (i.e. ovulation positive) on day 9, although no "O". Today is day 9 of the new cycle and I was expecting Persona to want me to test, but it has only instructed testing on day 6. When will it accept a testing stick again and what if it misses my OV day? I did test this morning using a left-over Persona stick from previously and it didn't indicate OV, but that's not really the point. Not impressed.

Moomin · 03/03/2004 10:40

Hello again all. Got the two lines last Sat (day 14 spot on) and did the do. Got a funny hormones surge a few days after this - felt like rotten PMT but far too early. Yesterday and today when PMT usually sets in, am feeling very jolly and surprisingly energetic. I think the benefits of the reflexology are starting to kick in maybe? AF due on Sat. Have to say though I don't feel hormonal one way or the other so don't really know what to expect.
I wish I'd paid more attention to my pg symptoms 1st time round then I could compare. I know I got mega-sore boobs but I don't think that was until past my expected AF date, at about 4 and a half weeks.
Oh well. Happy bd'ing all those with the green light at the moment.

bunny2 · 03/03/2004 09:36

BeckiF, I am really glad you are feeling more positive. Your gyn sounds like a very wise woman. Good luck thi month with the healthy eating.

Hi Misdee and Collision. Hope you are not here long!!

Futurity, dont waste time weeing on sticks, get yourself in the bedroom! I have EWCM today so shall be doing the same. Fertility Friend tells me I am at my most fertile, Whoopee!!

OP posts:
Azure · 03/03/2004 09:20

Collision - welcome to the thread. Futurity - glad the OV sign came at last. Happy BDing

Azure · 03/03/2004 09:17

Good news BeckiF - your doctor sounds really nice. I'm so glad your appointment went well and you can now focus on the positive. Let's hope you can get started on IVF soon.

BeckiF · 03/03/2004 09:11

Hi all - saw my gynae doc yesterday and she has told me to get back on and stick with the Metformin on the lower dose. Explained that I was border line diabetic and need to get to grips with my weight asap. This scared me as my dad is a diabetic and is is quite bad health now. She also told me my oestrogen levels were on the low side of normal. THey should be 300-400, both times mine have been taken they have been 116 & 150. This is why they checked me for early menopause which hasn't occured (thank the heavens). Also said that if the IVF hosptal will treat me at this weight, then I should consider it as my age will start to decrease chances for me if I wait much longer. DP expressed his fears and she told him not to be such a pesamist (sp)! She said plenty women my size and bigger have had perfectly normal pregnancies, likewise plenty of slim and apparently healthy women have had terrible pregnancies. She says in life nothing is perfect and you work with what you have ... I love her attitude!

Anyway, healthy eating back in place, and we are going to give it a month before we make in-roads to applying back for treatment, depending on how I feel. If I have lost some good weight and am feeling positive about it I'll probably try to lose a bit more first. Anyway, feeling a little more positive toady (hope it lasts)

futurity · 03/03/2004 07:23

Well today is definetely the positive on my stick (day 19) Horray! Does this mean I don't need to do one tomorrow?

Kay1 · 02/03/2004 21:30

beckief - hope all went ok at docs today xx

Kay1 · 02/03/2004 21:27

Hello to misdee and collision - its lovely to see new people on this thread - good luck with ttc.

Big bird, cha cha and pandabear - i think we all convince ourselves we're pg - it seems to all be a part of ttc!! - here's hoping for next month. cha cha - definately try fertility friend - it's an amazing site where you just input your temp and a few other interesting facts about how you're feeling etc and it produces an instant graph showing when you ov etc etc. I've been doing it for 2 months now and although it hasn't given me immediate success, it has helped me to understand my body and (to some extent) what's happening!
