BeckiF - lovely lyrics. I haven't heard that song.

I am going to get tests at lunchtime and test again - what brand should I get. Also, can someone confirm to me that 2 lines on a first response test is a positive, I threw the box away!!!!

Azure · 05/03/2004 09:45

BeckiF - those are lovely lyrics.

jellycat · 05/03/2004 09:40

Mum2Ela, you are probably around 4 weeks' (i.e. 2 weeks from conception) because this is about the earliest a pg test would work. However, lots of people don't get positives till some time after that and others get early positives. Until you have a dating scan, it'll probably just be a best guess'.

BigBird · 05/03/2004 09:39

wonderful news mum2ela !

BeckiF · 05/03/2004 09:38

As you all know I'm on day 146 of my current cycle and no sign og AF still! Anyway, I was listening to an Elton John CD and heard this son called 'Blessed'. It made me cry and when you read th lyrics below you'll see why. It is SO how I feel:-

Hey you, you're a child in my head
You haven't walked yet
Your first words have yet to be said
But I swear you'll be blessed

I know you're still just a dream
Your eyes might be green
Or the bluest that I've ever seen
Anyway you'll be blessed

And you, you'll be blessed
You'll have the best
I promise you that
I'll pick a star from the sky
Pull your name from a hat
I promise you that
I promise you that
Promise you that
You'll be blessed

I need you before I'm too old
To have and to hold
To walk with you and watch you grow
And know that you're blessed

And you, you'll be blessed
You'll have the best
I promise you that
I'll pick a star from the sky
Pull your name from a hat
I promise you that
I promise you that
Promise you that
You'll be blessed

Now isn't that beautiful???

Mum2Ela · 05/03/2004 09:36

Thanks everyone.

I suspected on MOnday I was when I made dinner (salad and tuna steak) and the smell of the tuna made me heave but I had a BFN then monday night.

Azure, I guess I must be 2weeks PG?

I will be sprinkling lots and lots and lots of baby dust over everyone here!!!!!!!

I won't get too excited until I test again lunchtime, so will let you know then.

Typical, Dh has gone off to Portugal for the weekend on a stag do

jellycat · 05/03/2004 09:13

some good news at last! Congratulations Mum2Ela - maybe it was to do with starting the last thread after all, even if it took till this one for you to find out!!

BeckiF · 05/03/2004 09:12

Well done and congrats Mum2Ela!! Rub some of that baby magic on me will you?!! All the best!!

futurity · 05/03/2004 09:05

Congrats Mum2Ela! And I thought you were going for the record of worlds longest cycle!

Well after my positive on the old sticks DH and I have had a busy few days so now the wait starts..I hate this bit! Will try and keep my mind off it by keeping busy this month though.

Quackers · 05/03/2004 09:00

BUnny , tonight honey!! Let his little swimmers regroup

MUM2ELA - CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't worry about spotting too much, the embryo will still be embedding itself in your womb lining. My friend has had spotting on and off for the first week of pgcy but it absolutely fine. Weehee this thread is getting lucky again!!!!

Azure · 05/03/2004 08:53

Mum2Ela as long as the spotting is brown it should be ok, in which case - yipeeeeeeeeee A graduate at last! Many, many congratulations. How on earth do you calculate your due date given your looong cycle??

Mum2Ela · 05/03/2004 08:42

I'm hesitant to be excited. Do you think I am or not? I feel like AF is coming . .

PandaBear · 05/03/2004 08:40

Congratulations Mum2Ela - some good news at last!!

Mum2Ela · 05/03/2004 08:27

I can't believe it. In fact am not believing it. Will get more tests in my lunch hour to confirm but am spotting a bit of 'old blood', like the start of AF. What is that?

Hello,
Bunny your post had me in stitches
Am going to try and BD every other day this cycle. After speaking with ob/gyn it seems that I actually missed ov. I went with the OPK last cycle and perhaps it just detected too much LH or whatever it is. Am going to keep trying and smiling and BD'g...I must be getting old.

Kay1 · 04/03/2004 20:22

Persoanlly i think go for it as much as possible and definately tomorrow - all my opk info has been to bd on day you get lh surge and also on following day. I have read stuff too about how you shouldn't do it too much as it reduces quality of sperm (?) but tbh if you're both up for it, why not have fun trying anyway!

bunny2 · 04/03/2004 19:45

That is lovely news Quacks.

Well, after 3 interruptions we had some success. . Now it is the nail-biting wait till testing time. Can we do it again or is twice in one day no good for sperm?

oooh, the questions we have to ask

Quackers · 04/03/2004 18:26

Go Bunny!! God your DH won't know what's hit him! It's funny we spend months seducing them into bed and then soon as we hit the jackpot don't want to know !! Hope you mange to get you knickers off then tonight!! Good luck to all waiting to test, waiting to BD and waiting ov!!
I had lovely news yesterday, my friend, an ex mumsnetter actually, is pg!!! I'm delighted for her as she only has one ovary working, had a m/c and other gynae probs. She has been using FF and seduction method for a while now and she's now pg with her first! There's some lovely news at the mo, hope it continues!!!!

Kay1 · 04/03/2004 13:20

Go for it bunny!! your post really made me laugh - remember to save some energy for tomorrow too

bunny2 · 04/03/2004 10:12

Pandabear, I know how you feel.

Well positive OPK today, plus pre-ov temp dip and EWCM so it's all systems go. After dropping ds off at pre-school, I dragged dh into the bedroom (luckily her
works from home). Alas, people keep knocking at the door every time I get my knickers off I shall have to make a Do Not Disturb sign to put outside.

PandaBear · 04/03/2004 10:01

Hiya, AF still not arrived and no more signs that it's going to. Bleeding has stopped, and I have started to feel a little nauseaus again. I am trying to convince myself that I'm not pregnant, so that if/when AF arrives, I'm not too disappointed! If AF has not arrived by Monday morning, I will test.

A colleague has just announced that she's 12 weeks PG and although I'm very happy for, my first feeling was of incredible jealousy. Somtimes I don't like myself very much!
