Today I'm 18 days late (51 day cycle) but no sign of a BFP. Anyone else?

So my last AF was 28th August for 3 days (they're always 3 days long). I was due 30th September but no sign of AF.

My cycles are on average 33 days long but vary between 29 and 35 days. I've been off the pill for a year. Prior to that I had been on the pill pretty solidly since I was 16. I'm now 30 years old my partner is 36 and this will be our first child.

I've had a couple of doctors appointments as I was getting concerned that a) we hadn't yet conceived and b) I had put on weight since coming off the pill and my understanding is that the opposite is normally true.

Anyway, she took blood on a very early cycle day and tested for hormone levels, rubella immunity and thyroid issues.

I went for my second appointment and was told that my thyroid is fine and I am immune to rubella. my hormone levels were 8.5 FSH and 7.5 LH. My doctor said that normally the LH level at the beginning of your cycle is slightly lower than FSH so that could be a very slight sign of PCOS but she wasn't particularly worried by the levels.

Nevertheless she referred me for an ultrasound at my local hospital and said she would look at putting me on metformin. She suggested I get my blood tested very early in my next cycle, then at 21 days, then at 28 days. I think the idea being that she wanted to see if I was ovulating.

The problem with that is that my AF hasn't showed up. So everything is on hold... Angry

So anyway, I'm now at cycle day 51 and am 18 days over my average 33 day cycle.

I'm really hoping I am pregnant, as is my other half, but don't want to get too excited.

I've done two Internet cheapies about a week ago - both negative.

Symptoms - cramping (daily), aching back, yesterday I had such a bad headache in the afternoon and then felt very very sick, weird full/bloated feeling in my tummy, skin is horrible.

If you're going through the same thing let's buddy up and share/support each other.

Also, if you've been through this I'm keen to hear what you're outcome was.

Oh Nappy!
Are you thing of going to see your GP?

nappyaddict · 26/11/2013 14:51

I think I am the only one who still hasn't got BFP or AF! Cycle day 103 now ...

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 25/11/2013 18:58

Glad to hear from you, Blue. Hope you get some clarity from scan results.

bluefreckles · 25/11/2013 12:38

Hi all

Sorry I haven't posted on here for ages. Life got in the way - you know how it is.

So I had the scan and they confirmed I'm def not pregnant. The nurse said my ovaries all look pretty normal but my right one may be slightly PCOS as there are a few nodules on it. The results were going to be sent through to my doc and I was then supposed to book a follow up appointment with my doc for further advice.

As I mentioned, life and work etc took over and I still haven't gotten round to an appointment with my doc - but I will - ASAP.

Meanwhile though, on cycle day 81 (!!), aunt flo suddenly arrived! Other half and I had 'fun' the night before and he's now convinced he has sorted out my cycle Shock

I suppse stranger things have happened!

Anyway, so I'm now on cycle day 9 and waiting to see what 'joys' this one brings!

Hope everyone else is OK?

Now I'm confused. 2 BFN and 1 BF???? It was negative after 5 mins but then the paper bit where you dip it in came unstuck. I looked after 7 minutes and the dye that was underneath the paper bit had gone but a line had appeared in the test line part. But I wasn't sure if the dye that was under the dipping part had somehow travelled up to the test line part? So I did 2 more and they were both negative. I'm CD 95 now.

AF finally arrived here - day 53. So much for having a regular cycle.

AntoinetteCosway · 16/11/2013 15:13

What does your doctor say nerdy? They must be concerned you haven't had a period for three months?

nappyaddict · 16/11/2013 10:17

I am CD 93 now. I am going to do one last test on Monday just incase as I can't remember if I did my last test before CD 64 and NerdyBird has given me me one last boost of hope.

nicx240187 · 16/11/2013 09:42

I kind of know where your coming from with this. And I'm glad I'm not alone. Were ttc and came of the pill a few months ago had 2 normal timed and spaced periods and now I'm 13 days late. I have a horrible stabbing pain in my lower groin and I was worried. So out came test no 2 (1 negative after 2ww) and again it's negative. So now I'm in confusion land. I have no period I have no baby and I'm in (quite a lot) of pain.
Guess it's just my body playing ticks on me.
Hope you get your period or result soon.

AntoinetteCosway · 16/11/2013 09:39

I know this thread is nothing to do with me but I keep wondering how you're all getting on. My cycles are all over the place though not to this extent-I really feel for you.

GnomieGrace · 12/11/2013 07:34

Congrats nerdy bird! I'm on CD50 of a pretty irregular cycle though 31 days is the longest I've waited for before. Really annoyed! I've tested 3 times with Tescos or Boots own brand on the days 32, 40 and 48. I just want to know! When do you think a trip to GP would be good? Any movement for you other ladies? And how's the arm?

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 12/11/2013 07:28

Wow, brilliant news, Nerdy!
Still no af here...lost count of days...

AntoinetteCosway · 11/11/2013 13:10

Congrats nerdybird Grin

NerdyBird · 11/11/2013 11:56

I got a BFP on day 64. Had tested negative on day 59.
Now hoping this one will stay and it won't be another MMC. also no idea how many weeks but suspect 4.

bluefreckles did you have your scan?

nappyaddict · 10/11/2013 20:25

I'm on CD 87 here. Gave up on BFP a long time ago ....

AntoinetteCosway · 08/11/2013 22:56

Hope things are ok OP and others in limbo.

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 06/11/2013 08:50

No AF here Sad
Keep thinking it's coming but it doesn't...

bluefreckles · 05/11/2013 10:27

Hey everyone.

I still have arm pain but still no AF.

My next AF has been and gone and I'm now on a 69 day cycle.

I have an appointment at the hospital tomorrow for a scan so hopefully will have a better idea of what's going on then.

Anyone got their AF or BFP?

How long did GP say for drugs to kick in for your arm? If no improvement I would go to A&E over weekend.

AndMiffyWentToSleep · 01/11/2013 18:53

How's the pain now, Blue?
Still no af here. Opk said I ovulated on 5th. LMP started 25th Sep. Before that I was regular since having IUS out in June. Really thought I'd got my fertility back - now I'm just confused.
Did GP say anything to you about your late AF?

bluefreckles · 01/11/2013 11:33

Thanks Antoinette.

Nerdy - yes I've got it Wed PM so will update after that.

Hi blue

Glad your arm is getting sorted. You still have your scan on Wednesday don't you?

AntoinetteCosway · 01/11/2013 08:06

We'll I'm glad your arm is getting sorted out. I'm still flabbergasted that any one of these medical professionals could have just done a blood test in order to set your mind at rest and they haven't, but I hope that they are at least taking seriously the fact that your period has gone missing and will investigate that.

bluefreckles · 31/10/2013 22:30

GP dismissed any pregnancy and focused on the arm. I now have anti-inflammatory drugs for the arm because the doctor thinks I have a frozen shoulder.

I've decided to give up the idea that I'm pregnant as I've been told so many times I'm not.

Just want to focus on getting rid of the pain in my arm and regulating my hormones.

How is everyone else?.
