Hi wish. I'm so sorry this cycle hasn't worked out for you. When did you stop with the pessaries? Really hope AF doesn't muck you about too much. Can't help on the ARGC front I'm afraid. I had to wait 6 weeks for my consult after failed cycle #1. It felt like forever but with hindsight, the break helped me think clearly. Fwiw I would not make any decisions until you've had your consult. Keep all your options open until then (it doesn't stop you looking into other clinics in the meantime though). xx

starsandmoonandback · 16/10/2013 13:08

Brooker brilliant news that tomorrow is the beginning of Stimms. You will feel soooooo much better without a doubt!

Wish, thanks hun. Glad I'm not the only one having those thoughts. Sorry af hasn't shown up yet, I swear it does it to tease us in these situations! Where are you based? If I'm right, the time lapse technology is the embryoscope and lots of clinics are using these or offering these now. My clinic in London (Ivf Hammersmith) have it as do my local clinic too. Hope you can make the right decisions. It's not easy choosing between clinics, I know.

It's peeing down with rain here! Yuk! Hoping it stops this arvo as DS and dog both need a trip to the park but I don't fancy getting drenched!!

stars I'm glad your results came back clear. I completely understand to wanting there to be something there to be able to fix! I feel the same. We're in complete limbo eh?

brooker I'm glad you get to start stimming soon Smile

Sorry I've been a bit absent. Obviously I'm getting over the bfn but also not bleeding so it's very annoying. I think AF is on her way but I have felt that for nearly a week now!

We've been looking at private clinics and ruled ARGC out as although the have very high success rates, there are some serious horror stories out there. We're now looking at The Centre for Reproductive and Genetic Health who have a 64% live birth rate or CARE who have a lower success rate but claim that with 'time lapse technology' their success rates go up to 78%.

All of this would mean me taking 3 weeks off work unpaid and staying in Northampton but is it worth it? We're still trying to work that out...

BrookerC · 15/10/2013 22:44

Evening all!
Very quiet on here today...
Hi stars glad the results came back all clear. Understand you wanting to find an answer as to why it's not working - not warped thinking at all. Look
at it as ticking something else off the list. x
Afm - had confirmation this afternoon that I start stimming on Thursday. Halle-fecking-lujah! Didn't find out anything else other than lining nice & thin & hormones where they need to be-? Who cares - hopefully I will be feeling more like myself in another few days'.
Hope everyone is ok xx

starsandmoonandback · 15/10/2013 21:44

Thanks nobeer, hope you have been productive with packing Wink

Brooker, thanks hun, great news that all is looking good at scan and Stimms should be thurs. Did you get confirmation? Did they give you an idea I mid how many follies you have lurking?!

Wish, hope you're ok lovely? Hugs.

Both my nk cells results and thyroid results were normal, do that's good news. Weirdly almost wanted something to be wrong to give me an answer to why it's bit bloody working, guess that's a bit warped, but ultimately I'm happy I don't have any immune issues... God this Ivf really messes with your mind! Anyway next week is hsg results, see what's what with those.

Hope everyone is ok? X

On way to work from clinic. All looking good so fx I can start stimming on Thursday. Just need blood results this afternoon to confirm. Good luck with the results today stars
Understand nobeer - packing must come first! x

nobeer · 15/10/2013 07:37

Good luck today brooker and stars.

I'm trying to minimize my mn time so I get some stuff done! See you all soon. xx

Oh wish, I'm so sorry :-( bloody Ivf crap. You could always go private to have the tests and see what the results say, before giving up your nhs slot? Although can see the temptation of going private. I definitely had more options once I was paying for my cycles.

Brooker, good luck got scan tomorrow. Really hoping you can get in the Gonal F and start feeling much better.

Everyone else hellooooo :-D

Local clinic appt tomo for me. Nk cells and thyroid results.

wish so so sorry. Make sure you take it easy the next couple of days. Can't believe the clinic is taking so long for the follow up. No wonder you are looking at alternatives, I certainly would.
tallulah a big hand hold for you sweetie. I'm sure sunnier days are up ahead
fab can't believe your clinic either. That is shocking.
bikes I am so impressed with the whole swimming before breakfast. I have done it too. But it was in Australia. And summer.
Bugs Did I really read that you eat Banana and blueberry omelettes???? You must post that recipe.
Brooker I am praying that tomorrow is the start of the rest of your life
Iwant how are you today?
nobeer get off bloody MN and get some packing done! Grin Only joking
Waves and hugs to everyone else.

Well, AF turned up today out of the blue. That certainly stopped me in my tracks. Heaven knows what all those drugs have done....

wishwash · 14/10/2013 15:43

Thanks everyone. It hasn't hit me as hard as the last one but I really did think it was going to work this time and I have no idea why!

I phoned the clinic and I now have to wait 5 weeks for a follow up appointment (even if I pay privately) which is annoying! that means it'll be feb/march before we get to do another FET/IVF!
I feel like we're just another number to the clinic because we're NHS. The after care is terrible! I didn't even get a phone call let alone a follow up appointment last time. Nothing was changed or explored and I'm sure it won't be this time unless we really push for it! I'm just royally pissed off!

It may sound really ungrateful but we're thinking about skipping our NHS cycles and going privately. Maybe then we will get exploration tests/answers to why this isn't working when I don't seem to have a single thing wrong with my lining! We live in Somerset but are happy to travel to London, we just need to speak to family who are helping us financially.

The ARGC clinic looks more like what we want/need. Does anyone have any advice?

bikesaregreat · 14/10/2013 11:32

wish so sorry to hear that - hope you can take some time to look after youself xx

IWantOneNow · 14/10/2013 10:06

Sorry wish. Treat yourself to something nice and keep ur chin up if u can. Hand hold and squeeze x

bikesaregreat · 14/10/2013 10:03

choco I live in a pretty remote rural area - we have to entertain ourselves by jumping in the sea or running up hills! Swim again this morning - it's a lovely way to start the day! Only thing is that then I get hungry and eat EVERYTHING. So much for pre-ivf diet...

Hope all are well today Smile

BrookerC · 14/10/2013 09:43

Oh wish so sorry lovely. Take care of yourself x

chocolocodowninacapulco · 14/10/2013 09:26

wish really sorry to hear that Xx

nobeer · 14/10/2013 08:12

Sad so sorry wish. Be kind to yourself and have a good old cry.

Good evening ladies!
So sorry to hear about your cancelled cycle talulah. I have to agree that if you had the transfer without a good quality lining, you may have had regrets if the cycle subsequently failed. Hope you're able to cycle in December. The thought of a drug free FET sounds very appealing to me (and surely is better for the body). Hugs x
iwant thank you so much for sharing such a personal part of your life with me. I hope the hot flushes ease off & allow you to get some sleep. I've had a good day today with little side effects
wish hoping that tomorrow's test brings some joy. Here for you whatever the outcome x (btw, my scratch was £140)
choco glad you found the article. I failed spectacularly! On the eye colour subject, I really understand your fears but in the end, this child will be yours. You will carry, feed, develop, nurture & raise this baby. But you & DH need to be happy with any decision you make. Keep talking to us lovely x
nobeer I have been imagining you & your brothers all with multi-coloured eyes Wink. Thank you for your kind words. This stuff is truly horrendous! I have just read through my clinic notes which state that I could be on this shit for another week or two before stimming. AAAAHHHHH! All I'm saying is get ready ladies. I may be requiring mucho hand holding
bugs bananas in an omelette has me intrigued. I may have to try it Smile How are you doing? Any chance of that ironi-diff?
bikes that bracing swim sounds....cold. Brrrrr. What day of the DR are you on? Totally relate to you making the most of the goods days.
maryp hope DS is improving today x
llw & driz If you're lurking ladies, hope everything is ok with you both xx
Hi to everyone else

chocolocodowninacapulco · 13/10/2013 20:57

Thanks bugger for your point of view, I think you're right about the eyes, just having a bit of a wobble.

bikes glad you're feeling better today, a swim in the sea?! Half marathon - wow, I'm in awe.

wish everything crossed for testing tomorrow x Said clinic charged a whopping £379 for the scratch!! On my new clinic's price list it's 150. The blood tests I had were about £800, but I probably paid over the odds there too. It's hard to know what to do re changing clinics, I felt the embryology team there were really good and I liked the nurses, Mr D was good, but some things relating to treatment e.g. different drugs only came about if you asked - I didn't think he was as proactive as I'd have liked sometimes. Thanks for your input on the eye colour conundrum, DH will support whatever decision I make and the colour doesn't bother him in the slightest. My heart is telling me to go for it, but my head is unsure!

talulah so sorry to hear that you can't go ahead with this cycle, as you say you wouldn't want to go ahead if things weren't right and you can make sure you are super fit and ready when you can go again.

nobeer I too recommend Dr Beer's book, it's a really interesting read. Thanks for your input about the eye colour, I don't really know why I'm getting hung up on it. I don't know how long it would be until another match comes along, but we're happy with all the other details about the donor.

nobeer · 13/10/2013 15:29

Wow it's been a busy weekend on here, just caught up. I've been away at the inlaws, and then marking this morning. Lots of sorting on Friday, but not much more packing. Interesting to read the immunology costs on here too! I'll see what immunologist says later this month, hopefully she'll say that it's highly unlikely that I'll have immune issues and not to bother wasting my money Grin. However I suspect that's doubtful from a private clinic!

MaryP sorry your DS has been poorly, sounds like he's been having tough time of it. Sending you a hug.

Talulah I'm sorry to hear this cycle hasn't worked out, but maybe we'll be cycling together in Dec. Sounds like those patches really didn't suit you. I decided against them on my last FET because I've got sensitive skin and didn't fancy an allergic reaction.

Wish how are you doing my love? Hope you're ok xx

Choco how long would it be until another donor match came along? I think you should go for it! My brothers and my eyes are blue, green and brown (not a mixture in each eye, oh you know what I mean!!). Mum has green and dad had blue eyes.

brooker are you feeling a bit better? Although I've never met you in RL I agree that the crying in the car doesn't sound like you. You're a strong woman, just keep reminding yourself that it is the hormones NOT you.

fab I ordered the Dr Beer book but it never arrived Sad. There was a problem with Royal Mail so I got a refund from the seller. You've reminded me to order it again.

Waves to stars, bugger, Llw res, bikes, badhair and still. Hope I haven't forgotten anyone. And a hug for Pram cos I miss you!

Right, I'd better go and do some more marking then put some stuff in boxes.
