Your last thread got somewhat derailed so I thought I would treat you to a lovely shiny new place full of real open fires, fluffy blankets and an aga for baking bread and warming soups and stews. Back on with the job in hand ladies, lets have a round up of who's doing what and when.

beedle there's no reason why it won't happen for you. You're having a tough time, and it's completely understandable you're feeling the way you do, but brooking so hard for you Thanks

keepitgoing · 01/10/2013 15:33

It might work, beedle. There's no reason why not. Just keep chugging on with it all. Any news on starting stimms?

Just cos you can't imagine it doesn't mean it won't happen. The gym sounds like a great plan x

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/10/2013 14:58

Beedle don't you dare apologise. It's completely normal to feel like you are. And your hormones are taking such a battering, and you will be feeling more vulnerable. I don't care what people say, it is impossible to feel positive during an IVF cycle, and I think indulging in your worries and dealing with them can be more beneficial than just putting a brave face on it. We are all here as your sounding boards.

Now, go and beat the gym up and have a relaxing evening x

BeedlesPineNeedles · 01/10/2013 14:53

Sorry for being absent, I'm just feeling very pessimistic about this IVF attempt. Getting pregnant normally and even succeeding with IVF just seems like something that happens to other people. I'm off to the gym soon so I hope that will make me feel a bit happier. I'm not sure if its just teh DRing drugs affecting my mood, but I was OK last time (but then I had hope thta it might work then!)

Sorry for being all me me me.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/10/2013 14:42

Yes indeedy Cake another IVF brooking baby here!! 15+1 today and all looks well. Thank god for the brookers is all I can say Grin

Boo some Cake to go with that?

CakePigeon · 01/10/2013 14:23

wow what a rollercoaster you must have been on maybe although hyperemesis means there is a baby maybe on the way so really good news on that front :)

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 01/10/2013 11:47

Ta for the Brew Maybe :)

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 01/10/2013 11:04

Morning all! I've made Brew for you all.

Will send you a FB message Dino Smile

DinoSnores · 30/09/2013 22:59

maybe, this might bore the others so feel free to reply via FB or whatever, but how did you get into medical writing? I've been wondering if this is an option for me.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/09/2013 21:22

You're right Cake I was. Very long story, but I quit as my boss was a twat. But I've left with an mPhil so that's ok. I'm a medical writer now, though I'm currently signed off due to hyperemesis!

Tell us what's new with you Smile

CakePigeon · 30/09/2013 20:32

generic sooo pleased for you Smile actual living proof of the power of brooking - wonderful stuff

and maybe Yay good to see you again SmileWhat are you up to these days? Am I right that you were doing a phd before? Are you finished now?

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/09/2013 19:48

Sounds like you e had a busy day of researching Cups. When's the interview?

Fox it really depends what your PCTs policy is. Mine would only do day 3 and day 21 bloods along with MrMs sperm sample. They wouldn't do anything else until they had these results back. But that's enough to be getting on with in the meantime. The positive OPKs suggest you're ovulating nicely though!

Cake it's good to hear about your relaxed approach Wink. But we brookers are here to keep you sane ish Grin

GenericDietCola · 30/09/2013 18:59

Cake! How lovely to have you back! I'm not TTC, I finally got my brooking baby 9 months ago, so with DD as well, that's me done! Best of brooking to you!

Cups, the new job possibility sounds ace and I agree you should go for it Smile

CakePigeon · 30/09/2013 18:35

cupcakes hello! That is so lovely of you to think of me Thanks I hope you're doing ok? Your interview sounds really exciting best of luck! What is it for? You shouldn't have any guilt about going for a job you want, I'm a complete believer in being happy at work - we spend so much blinking time there!

fox I'm totally not the expert but if you think a scan would put your mind at rest then you might as well ask I reckon.

Fox82 · 30/09/2013 18:17

Exciting about the interview cups! Glad to hear you're going for it and brooking for you that you're successful (although I'm sure you don't need it). And thanks for the advice. Do you think I should I request a scan when I go for my first appointment anyway then?

Fox82 · 30/09/2013 18:14

Yes cake, it's definitely good to be relaxed about it if you can. I've not tried temping, but the opk's have been good for the past 2 or 3 months just to check when I ovulate. And I find them kind of fun, something to wee on do to while away the month! Grin

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 30/09/2013 18:10

Cake!!! Welcome back, I remember you well and have wondered how you were getting on. Glad to hear your back to ttc. I'm brooking for a super quick BFP Smile

Fox I would expect the GP to sort you out a scan as basic tests anyway so I would definitely mention it.

Geek it sounds like you and MrG have a foolproof plan Grin

Stacks I'm brooking you will be one of those that gets pg really quick second time around x

Smegs good to see you. Yep that was me in Rome. It was awesome Smile
The food and drink was so good I put on half a stone!

Thanks for all the reassurance about going for the interview. I've gone from feeling guilty to being desperate to get the job. I need lots of brooking please! I've had the day off today after working all weekend. I've been busy reading lots of policies and updating my portfolio.

CakePigeon · 30/09/2013 17:53

Thanks for the warm welcome fox lovely to meet you :) It was a really hard decision which I regretted at times but I'm glad to be back to it now! Glad to hear your dh is fully invested in the ttc - asking to see the lines your urine has made on an opk certainly qualifies! we are trying to be a bit calmer about the whole thing this time har har I went a bit crazy with temping, opks etc last time, trying to hold off that for at least the first couple of months!

Fox82 · 30/09/2013 17:21

Welcome back cake! Must have been a hard decision to put ttc on hold, but great that you're ready again now! Brooking for you that your bfp is just around the corner! And waves to too! What a stressful and devastating time you had. Brooking for a smooth journey this time.

stacks that's so lovely your ds was born on Christmas Day! What a wonderful Christmas present! I was speaking to a lady at work who has 2 dc's, and she said she took 15 months to conceive dc 1 and so ttc dc 2 fairly quickly after for the same reasons as you, and got her bfp after 2 months! So you never know, could be quick for you this time around!

Would you suggest I just ask my gp for day 3 and 21 bloods to begin with? Or is there anything else? I had a blighted ovum miscarriage years ago and it's occurred to me recently that I wasn't checked to make sure everything had returned back to normal after. Does anyone think it's worth asking for some sort of scan??

Pie sounds yummy keep. I really should diet, but there's so much nice food waiting to be eaten!

Sounds like your DH is very positive and thoughtful geek. And great news about his job! Woohoo! Luckily my DH is willing to do whatever it takes to ttc too. I bought him some vitamins which he takes when he remembers and he is overly interested in the opk's and constantly asks how dark is the line today etc Confused Better than having to do them in secret/arguing about doing them I guess. And he's willing to do a sa test if the gp recommends it. Oh and geek kit kat chunky peanut butter are amazing! DH once bought me a whole box full when they were difficult to get hold of

I think you should go for the interview cups. An interview doesn't mean you need to decide on anything definite, and gives you longer to think what to do. If you don't go you may regret it.

Good luck with the house hunting maybe!

CakePigeon · 30/09/2013 16:05

I think I do remember you stacks hope you are well!

lovely to meet you boo and keep

keep congrats on your brooking baby how exciting! thank you for the brooking :) it's nice to be back in the fold!

keepitgoing · 30/09/2013 15:54

Hi cake welcome back. How annoying to have had to take a ttc break, but I'm brooking it'll be swift this time. We don't know each other, but I am still here brooking for everyone, though nearly 32 weeks preggers after ivf, and next to sneeze. You can never have too many people brooking for you :)

NoMaybeAboutIt · 30/09/2013 15:47

I remember you Cake! Hurrah! Lovely to have you back with us!!

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 30/09/2013 15:12

Oh, hello then Cake nice to meet you :) the easiest way to join the FB as said above is to pm someone your real name, let them friend you on FB then they can sign you up and show you the secret hand shake Wink Also wishing you all the brooking luck in the world with ttc :)

OP posts:
Stacks · 30/09/2013 14:28

I think I remember you Cake I was stasi back then.. I'm sure we can figure out how to get you on the fb group if you're interested. I think it's a secret group so you need to make friends with someone or get an invite by telling someone your real name in a pm.

CakePigeon · 30/09/2013 14:04

boo nope, same name and I'm not on the FB group, mostly through lack of ability to find it rather than any conscious choice!

bullets ooh mysterious! did I read further up the thread that you are coming back to ttc next summer?
