Well I thought I'd get the ball rolling and start up the October bus, there's plenty of Cake and Wine on board and extra comfy seats for relaxing into those BFP's

Hi milk, I think some people's surges last longer than others. I'd just go for it as soon as you get a positive for 3 days, skip a day than another 1 or 2 times just in case of a slightly later ov.

You could temp, this would tell you once you've ov'd. So with opks and temping you could pinpoint it better!

Good luck

Milknosugar33 · 19/09/2013 07:16

I'm hoping for third time lucky too!

And (if I can be so bold this early in the morning) am planning a bit of a shagfest next week!

But, as a newbie, I would like some advice please. I have opk'd the last two months using cheapie sticks and have had two days with two strong lines.

Having read a whole heap more info on here over the last couple of days, I now know that the LH line means you are about to ovulate not that you have.... But how can I be on the brink two days on the trot?!

Both times the lines have come have been on a Thursday and Friday so should we be DTD on Thursday, Friday and Saturday?! Wednesday too? Sunday for luck?

I've seen the SMEP plan, but with two LH days I'm not sure if timings.

Ultimately I'm trying to stay calm and pragmatic, and not think about all this too much..but i cant help it and would really like to give us the best chance possible! Any tips?!

Morning all! Jayjay I'm hoping for third time lucky too. Not sure when AF is due, she's only just buggered off so probably about the same time as you. This month I'll be trying OPKs and am trying to temp as well but I work shifts so its a bit hard to track it.
In fact I'm still at work now, only just over an hour until I get to go home to bedSmile Can't wait.
Hopefully get to DTD every other day this month, just to cover all bases.
Hope everyone has a lovely day.

jaykay987 · 19/09/2013 06:09

That's my website of choice johill. I like the graphs! Smile

So....AF intensity is starting to wind down, cd 4 here today.

Im starting to get super positive about this bus.....my life seems to have frequent instances of Sod's law! DH is due for a boys week end, followed by two days away with work from 18th Oct. BFP/AF is due on 19th. So, if/when I get my BFP this month, Id either have to tell him over the phone, or wait 5 days to tell him! I'm terrible at internalising information, but can't imagine telling him over the phone. So, I'll have to turn to you lot to get me through!

Plus, I want to tell PIL and parents after 12 weeks, but before Xmas if I can (fingers and toes crossed) So this bus is my 'last' chance to follow this dream.

Plus Im a little superstitious - third month lucky?

So johill, you'll be first to POAS. How long do we have to wait for this bus to get rolling?

www.countdowntopregnancy.com/pregnancy-test/results-by-day-past-ovulation.php

Just found this, seems like a good tool to use to decide when to take a test after ovulating. It shows you're more likely to get an accurate reading 17-21 days after you ovulate. But in all seriousness who can wait that long??? I'm dying to test now but I have 9 days to wait. X

johull · 18/09/2013 21:18

Aw thanks :-)

I'm testing on the 26th!!! I ovulated on the 12th and an due AF on 19th-22nd so it depends in what comes first

X

Hi signorastronza (are you really a stronza?)

I don't think you need to worry whilst ttc, unless your verging on the alcoholic side of drinking. The egg doesn't live off your body till post implantation, so generally you get a bfp and that's when to stop!

Some people do give up in the spirit of being healthy whilst ttc alongside maybe losing weight, eating well and taking vits. But we are allowed some fun and it could be months so no point denying yourself!

I remember someone's gp sister saying something to this effect on mn but I'm not claiming any medical background (disclaimer)

Jo, stick with us, we need some action, when are you testing?

SignoraStronza · 18/09/2013 18:14

Can I hop on? Am 34 and ttc#3. This is the first time I've 'actively' ttc - the other two were more of a let's see what happens approach! BFP 2nd Oct (is this the same as date af would normally be expected to visit?).
Plenty of ewcm (and rampaging hormonesWink ) in the last three days so we'll see what happens. Expect I'll capitulate and test early though. Got a night out next Sat so don't want to test before then - do I need to worry about stopping drinking in the run up to testing though?

johull · 18/09/2013 17:48

Also just realised I should be on sept bus but I don't want to jinx anything so I'll stay here if that's ok. More comfy than the sept bus and not as full :-)

Xxx

johull · 18/09/2013 17:47

Thanks very much. I'll keep you posted. It's the first time I've ovulated since having inplant taken out so an very nervous. If its a BFP I believe its likely I'll MC as its so soon. Lots to worry about x

charleslingus · 18/09/2013 17:42

Good luck if that's soon?

Let us know!

charleslingus · 18/09/2013 17:42

Maybe give it till 14dpo johull, if you can wait that long as you have more chance of an accurate result.

So that would be around CD 26.

Most people start testing around 12 dpo (CD 24 for you) but there is the risk of a false negative and a wasted test!

Depends how iron your will is really?!

johull · 18/09/2013 17:35

What cd day should I test on if I ovulated (and I did) on cd12 x

SoMuchFruit · 18/09/2013 10:41

choccy could I ov so soon after AF leaving ? Is that possible ?

Today is CD8. DTD last night and plan to do EOD apart from 3 days when will DTD every day (over ovulation dates according to calendar)

Choccywoccydodah · 17/09/2013 18:43

Somuchfruit, might be ov bleeding......

SoMuchFruit · 17/09/2013 17:38

Thanks PanicMechanic & JayKay .. I'd never heard of SMEP until now. I am clearly way under-informed. Read up on it now and I see the similarities. If this plan doesn't work will try the actual SMEP plan next cycle.

CD7 today and weirdly have something that looks .. (a bit TMI so look away now if you don't want to read this bit..)

Like watery EWCM but with a pink stain to it. AF is officially gone since Sunday evening but yesterday on CD6 there was some pinky/red EWCM type stuff when wiping. Is this just a lingery AF ?

Choccywoccydodah · 17/09/2013 12:14

Far from stalled frostina ha ha!

leezl · 17/09/2013 12:13

Frostina the September bus is on thread 4!

frostina · 17/09/2013 12:01

I may be in the wrong month here, but the September bus seems to have stalled?
Waiting to test on the 26th fingers crossed
I'm 33, we've waited three years before ttc, and this is our first attempt. Here's to beginners luck!

leezl · 17/09/2013 11:46

Sigh. Please add me to the bus, guys :(
Leezl ttc #1, cycle 3, bfp 18th?

Choccywoccydodah · 17/09/2013 10:10

SMEP
conceive plus meant to be better than preseed, the same sort of stuff.

Jessewalt · 17/09/2013 10:01

Can I join the bus please?
Ttc #1, cycle 4, bmp due 8th October.
Feeling positive this month!

Kemie · 17/09/2013 08:46

milknosugar SMEP is a conception plan where you time dtd I think every other day until a smiley face/lines on opk then dtd every day for 3(?) Days have a rest for a day then dtd again. I think I've got that from what I've read but not actually tried it.

OP posts:
Kemie · 17/09/2013 08:41

Hey, due to lots of AF type cramping during the day I think I ov'd yesterday (cd14) OH has developed a cold man flu though so no dtding, managed cd 11 and 12 and that is all so far this month (fx it's enough)

english concieve plus I believe is a lube which helps spermies swim through to where they need to get to.

Welcome newbies, sorry AF got you and is playing with your emotions.

OP posts:
Milknosugar33 · 17/09/2013 08:34

And while someone explains Conceive Plus can someone also explain SMEP for this newbie! Soz.
I'm on Pregnacare, he's on Wellmans and I've ordered a fertility monitor. Always nice to see a smiley face!
Also, had been DTD straight after the first positive sign after the POAS method, but read yesterday that a positive line means 12-36 hours to go til ovulation. Oooos. I was getting positive line for two days, then none, so I'm guessing the third day is ovulation?! We'd stopped by then. He was knackered! Ha ha!
