Well I thought I'd get the ball rolling and start up the October bus, there's plenty of Cake and Wine on board and extra comfy seats for relaxing into those BFP's

hello can I join the bus.
ttc2 cycle 4 bfp 13th October.
just a quick question. I was going to use opk this month.I have decided I want to use a digital as not verygood at interpreting lines. would u use the clear blue advance or normal one? shouldI buy 10 sticks or the 20? I tendto have standard 28 day cycle. besidethe odd month where I have had 34 day.
many thanks

Owlie84 · 20/09/2013 13:29

I think I read it on one of the older conception bus threads. I've learnt so much from everyone on here! Smile

SoMuchFruit · 20/09/2013 12:32

I thought I was a bit mad worrying about it. Wasn't sure if I should have been doing something to stop it (handstands ? Somekind of plug?)

This is only cycle 3 and I am worrying about all sorts of random stuff.

What/where did you read about it ?

Owlie84 · 20/09/2013 10:59

Haha!! Good shout! It's his stuff afterall! Wink
But yes, I did worry about losing too much, but I have read that what needs to stay, travels to the right place, and the waste product is what is left behind. I think that's right anyway! So I'm trying not to worry, and as long as you lie there for a bit, it should be fine.

SoMuchFruit · 20/09/2013 10:54

That's very organised Owlie .. I usually just shuffle back over to my warm and dry side of the bed afterwards Grin however this does taker a little bit of limbo to ensure the wet spot is not in my territory. I claim there is a dodgy pokey spring over there..

Do you worry about loosing too much with the leakage ? (Or am I insane)

Owlie84 · 20/09/2013 10:48

thank you! I'm going to do it after work, so I'll let you know the outcome!

SoMuchFruit I have that too, we usually put a towel down, and I lie there for about 20 mins after DTD. Why does it have to be so messy!

SoMuchFruit · 20/09/2013 10:33

Good luck Owlie!

CD10 here in the Fruitbowl. Have been sticking to the plan to DTD every other day - it's been fun Grin, keeping it lighthearted with frisky texts during the daytime. DS is currently sleeping very well too and not appearing in our bed at 4.30am which is great and am hoping is an omen.

TMI question again (sorry) ; DH has a lot of manjuice, product, stuff no idea what the most acceptable term is on MN but you get the idea I am sure. Anyway, after DTD there is leakage. What does everyone else do about this ? Or am I concerning myself with nothing here.

I haven't been doing handstands but I usually sleep like the dead until the morning lie down for a min of 30mins afterwards.

charleslingus · 20/09/2013 09:46

Ahhh, let us know how it goes owlie,

Love a live poas. Have you done it yet?
Best of luck!

Owlie84 · 20/09/2013 09:02

Morning everyone,

I get to POAS today! Well, an OPK, but it's my first time trying them, and I'm excited! It's the little things...!

Yes rockstars, uti post ov, very unpleasant. I try to go to the loo as advised after dtd but while trying not to let anything else slip out. Sorry if - tmi.

rockstars12 · 19/09/2013 21:52

Time to join the October bus, September AF came early, but better early if it wasn't meant to be this month. Been generally ill anyway for last 2 weeks, asthma, virus, poorly tummy, a urinary tract infection.. too much! Anyone else suffered from UTI's? I read they can be quite common whilst ttc and PG.

Rockstars12 ttc#1 cycle 2 BFP due 11th Oct

newforest · 19/09/2013 21:29

Looks like the bus is picking up pace! I'm not confident of my chances this month, as we haven't been able to start trying until tomorrow (cycle day 12)due to feeling really under the weather. I seem to ovulate variably between days 12 to 16 so I'm hoping, but am also quietly unconfident.

CooCooCachoo · 19/09/2013 21:25

I no longer qualify for the September bus, the witch strikes! may I please join?

CooCooCachoo ttc#2 cycle 3 bfp due 16 October

Feeling quite silly, was convinced I was preggers. Oh well, back to it!

Milk no sugar I'm the same. Keeping it to ourselves as coming off implant seems to correlate with MC and I'd hate for anyone else to know if I MC.

Let's keeping using this as our outlay. I know it won't be long. I've got a feeling before Christmas which would be great BUT that means summer- ish babies and trust me that makes a massive difference at school :-(. Bless the little summer babies. Not the most intelligent bit seem to be the nicest, happy go lucky and creative x

johull · 19/09/2013 19:12

Oh and I'm bloody hot recently. Window open whilst teaching today and blazer off. Poor kids were freezing x

johull · 19/09/2013 19:11

Hi jay you can certainly tell us before your oh. :-)

I'm due to test on te 26th if this month but am sceptical because I haven't had a period since having my implant out!! So it might not be but I'm stating hopeful because I have been told its possible to fall pg before you actually get a period after implant. Fingers crossed. I take ivulation test everyday and it hasn't been positive since possible conception day.
Bloody bloated ATM, very tired ( but I teach 11-16 so that might be why) and I'm feeling sick e dry morning until about midday. The only thing I'm not having is sore breast. Like... No pain at all and I hear that's the most common hint!
Xx

SignoraStronza · 19/09/2013 17:44

Well that's answered my question. Am definitely ov right now! Familiar pain, in left side this time, came on about half an hour ago. DH thinks I'm crackers but is humouring me (and afterall, he's the broody one here).

We'll have one for luck tonight, just in case there are none left hanging around from Tuesday night's effortsGrin and then fingers crossed for a bfp!

Stepawayfromthezebras · 19/09/2013 17:29

Can I join the bus?
Stepawayfromthezebras ttc#1, cycle 2, BFP due 16th Oct

Milknosugar33 · 19/09/2013 17:25

Thanks so much Charles and jaykay. It sounds like I need to get me a thermometer! Now where do you get one of those?!

I have ordered a cbfm but it hasn't arrived yet and after reading on here that You need to start on cd1 I'm going to try as hard as I can to get upduffed next week so i don't need it. It'll be the best 60 quid I've ever wasted if I can!

Also, can i just thank whoever set these boards up for keeping me sane! Me and my OH have decided not to tell anyone we're trying or if we are lucky before 12 weeks, so I really appreciate everyone sharing their stories and answering my concerns.

It is so strange to spend all day thinking about something and not to be able to talk about it with anyone I know! Except OH of course, but he'd much rather concentrate on DTD then the science behind it!

Thanks all. I'm really hoping this October bus is lucky for us all!

SignoraStronza · 19/09/2013 15:11

Well, that's unusual. The ewcm seems to still be going - has been from days 14-17 of a 30 day cycle so far. We've dtd on days 12, 14 and 15 but dh is out tonight and am wondering whether I should stay awake and pounce on him when he gets in. Is a full moon tonight too - not that I'm usually woo about such things, but any excuse to squeeze am extra shag in.
Perhaps should have mentioned - am still bf my 15 month old and have only had about four periods so far. Am pretty sure am ov though, as generally get really rampant all the usual symptoms.
Will send him a booty call text tonight and see how quickly he makes it back from the pub. Wink

jaykay987 · 19/09/2013 10:20

Milk - surges can easily last more than one day.

As an example I had three positives (ie a LH surge) which did not result in ovulation. Then 5 days later I had another two positives which did result in ovulation (according to temps). So it's like the body builds for it, then if it doesn't happen hormone levels level out and then they try again a few days later.

Typically my temp rise (evidencing ovulation) happens three days after my first positive test, though last month it was the next day whilst I still had a positive test.

They say the most fertile days are ov-3, ov-2, ov-1, ov and ov +1. So if you ov on a Sunday the best days to dtd are Thursday-Monday.

So depending on your pattern of ov date compared to OPK positive there is a further variance. So for me, assuming ov happens three full days after first positive, I should dtd on the day I get my first positive for 5days straight. However if Ov the day after my first positive (like I did this month) I should dtd from two days before my positive OPK through for 5days.

Plus the extra complication that a temp rise proves ovulation, but some people's temp rises a short while after ovulation not necessarily same day.

So allin all, no matter whether you temp, or OPK or use monitors or symptom spot, no one ever knows 100% exactly when the ovulate Smile

SignoraStronza · 19/09/2013 09:40

Charleslingus No, I'm certainly not a Stronza (well, only rarelyWink ). Just thought it made an interesting username. Thanks for the advice re alcohol. Am not a huge drinker, but have a rare night out/away next Saturday so will probably leave it until Monday 30th to test, which silk be day 28 of my cycle (usually 30 days). Will see how it goes - if I'm lacking in stamina for the night out and don't fancy drinking then I'll just 'know'. The other two were concieved first month of trying well, saying to hell with contraception so am quietly hopeful, even if knocking on a bit now. DC2 is a June birthday too so that would mean two in the same month! Will be obsessively symptom spotting for the next 10 days or so whereas last time I just had a 'feeling' and tested on the day af was due.
