Sciencegeek: How easily turned on is your husband? I tend to find my bf will easily 'come round' if touched, cuddled, kissed, straddled, told he's handsome, if I'm obviously very up for it, if I sit on his knee in my underwear etc.... Can you try that?

Thanks Jaykay and ScienceGeek - much appreciated. Jaykay: bit of both. They looked way out, but were also taken at funny times. On the 18th and 19th (CD 12 and 13), my temps were taken late and after not much sleep (1815 and 1415) due to night shifts, and the one the other night (presumably the dip you referred to?) was taken after a night when I had only five hours in bed and took ages to get to sleep due to a headache and then kept waking up. Do they sound like reasonable reasons? Unless I've forgotten to chart any, we only had sex the day of ovulation (assuming the chart is right on that) and the day before, and then it was three days before that. Eeek.

Looks like ff is right to me. In fact I've always found them to be annoyingly right even when I wish otherwise.

Ok need help ladies not meant to opk this month (hubby and I agreed). Anyway peed on one earlier and positive so really need to DTD but hubby not in mood. 'Wants to read'. Any advice or experience on how to change his mind without mentioning secret opk-ing?

Raraz - looking at those I think it is right and you ovulated on cd17. The dip after could be implantation, or it could just be your pattern (I get this pattern but have not yet been pregnant). Have you only discarded the temps taken at a if different time? Or the ones that "look" weird?

also, I just read that dtd on four or three days before ov gives you higher chances of conceiving than dtd on ov day. So fingers crossed, Ive still got a (small) chance. Though obviously it is low given we only dtd once around ovulation.

My friend, Ive decided, is a way of proving to me that it only takes one time! So I must take the positive from her story!

I'm only on cycle 2 so I'm not sure what's the norm for me raraz. Last time I had a 35 day, then 28 day cycle, then fell pg with ds and found out finally on cd40, so it was all over the place.

Right now, neither do I! If I didn't work shifts and actually got up at vaguely the same time through the week, it might be a damn sight easier! This is so difficult, isn't it . With yours, maybe you'll just have a longer cycle: ovulate later, but have a longer LP too? Is a 9-day LP normal for you?

Supposedly they don't vary more than one day for the same woman, but mine are usually 14-15 days and the last one was only 11, so clearly that's not entirely true

Still a fainter line on my ov test, and doing my head in now! I'm on cd14, last month it was positive on cd16 but only had a 9 day LP after that so was hoping I'd ov earlier this month if the same cycle length. I only had a darker line for 12 hours before it turned positive last month, so this is dragging a bit!

Would anyone mind giving me their opinion on my chart? I didn't think I'd ovulated, but FF thinks I did and I've just realised I had a few weird temps earlier in the month due to night shifts etc, which I've now discounted.

I've read that too Jaykay so try to stay positive. According to my fertility accupuncturist, some sperm live for 10 days and she's seen people who've got pg from intercourse only a week before ov. Fingers crossed!

jaykay I read recently that 3 days before ov, till ov are the most important of all days, it gives sperm time to get to where they need to go and they can live there firmly in the right place till the egg pops out.

my app gives days either side of that too but guessing it's in case ov isn't exactly when it should be, so you are in the optimum zone at least.

FX Im still in with a chance then. You're right, last month I had a 34 day cycle, if I did ovulation cd13, then this cycle should be much much shorter.

Nulaloo - I have different types of cramps. Yesterday I had what I can only describe as waves of cramps across my belly. I was doubled up in pain. Odd as when I ovulate the pain is usually much much milder. Normally a dull ache. With infrequent stabbing pains. For me AF cramps are across my back and are like a really uncomfortable hug!

Was a bit silly today and did an early hpt. It was a BFN but I'm still 3-4 days before my AF is due. Think it was because it is first month ttc and just overly optimistic! I have more signs for AF than PG so wasn't really expecting anything. Will be very good now and wait for AF to come (due Wed) and hide all HPTs til after then!

Nulanoo, in terms of cramps, I've had both sorts of thing you describe, but then in my view its probably just AF so can't really help!

Sorry you're having a frustrating time jaykay, but at least Thursday would be prime fertile time if you did ov yesterday so don't lose hope!

I ov'd early one cycle and af was earlier too, so watch out for a shorter cycle. At least if you don't get your bfp the chance to try again should come round quicker. Hopefully you will though, your still in with a good chance!
