Very sad Sad

Have been ttc for 9 months, had my ultrasound today and she showed me the black dots on the scan.

It did show I had ovulated but she said my tubes could be blocked.

Sad

Does anyone have this who has successfully gone on to conceive naturally?

tigress were you also given norethisterone to bring on AF before you had clomid?

Liquoriceallsort · 04/09/2013 22:03

Essexgirl you are still young, I just meant 30 is a milestone. It's silly really, it's only another year older Grin

Congrats Tigress that's excellent news!

Yes. Got Clomid & conceived in 3rd cycle. Felt like a miracle after 18m of TTC & erratic/non-existent periods.

Good luck x

Liquorice I am 32 so don't worry to much. Was a bit of a shock to see the BFP was expecting to need clomid.
Have a look at Verity is a website for woman with PCOS.
Hope you get a BFP very soon.

Liquoriceallsort · 04/09/2013 21:47

Daisy I think we are the same person!

Sorry to hear your sad news too, the good thing is that the diagnosis doesn't change the fact we have it, it just means you now have the knowledge to do something about it.

Good luck, they should be able to kick start your af now!!

Liquoriceallsort · 04/09/2013 21:33

Congratulations Rain! That's excellent news Grin

That's good that you didn't have to have the scan, it's not very pleasant. Fingers and toes crossed for you, now you are taking medication everything should start to fall into place for you!

My doc referred me to the fertility clinic and I expected them to tell me they would test for things like PCOS etc and we would go from there, turns out a blood test I had a couple of months before identified it straight away so he diagnosed me there and then and I left with norethisterone to bring on AF (I have just finished the last tablet today) and I start the clomid when AF arrives, I havent even had a scan to see what it looks like but I can totally understand why that would be upsetting!! The only symptoms I had was no AF!

YouAreMyRain · 04/09/2013 21:00

I am 40, overweight, have endometriosis and PCOS, currently 28 weeks pregnant. Natural conception. Smile

Sorry to hear that Woodwaj it's horrible isn't it. Did you ask for clomid or did they prescribe it to you automatically?

I am dreading going to see my gp I really don't like her but she's the fertility expert at my surgery.

Congrats essexgirl and everything! Wishing you very happy and healthy pregnancies Thanks

Thanks so much for your lovely messages! Just what I needed to hear :)

I went in convinced I didn't have it mainly because I have none of the symptoms that present in most people. Silly I know, lots of people have no symptoms!

The thing that made me sad was looking at my empty womb on the screen. The nurse was so lovely and I was in there for a good half an hour asking all sorts of questions and she didn't make me feel hurried.

I guess it's good to know now, I turn 30 next week which isn't great timing!

I was diagnosed with PCOS a week ago and I have been given clomid. The doc was really positive about it, try not to worry about it too much and just think about what you can do going forward! good luck x

rubyflipper · 04/09/2013 20:17

I was diagnosed at 30; I was a classic case - irregular periods, adult acne, hair sprouting on chin and weight gain.

I lost 2 stone through diet and exercise and have two DC now.

everythinghippie29 · 04/09/2013 20:13

Ooh should add, naturally conceived too. x

everythinghippie29 · 04/09/2013 20:10

Diagnosed with PCOS at 21. Not had a proper period in 3/4 years.

I'm currently 27 weeks pregnant! Don't worry, I don't think it is always as much as a barrier as they lead you to believe.

Sorry to hear you have been diagnosed, its always horrible to have the worry there. Good luck. x Thanks.

Essexgirlupnorth · 04/09/2013 19:54

Yes was diagnosed with PCOS at 22 after 6 months without periods.
Now 35 weeks with my first baby conceived naturally after 16 months TTC. Had just been referred to the fertility clinic as well.
I lost 1 and a half stone which regulated my cycles and helped. Angus Castus can also help regulate cycles.
Clomid is also effective in some women with PCOS.

Sparrowlegs248 · 04/09/2013 19:50

Sorry to hear that. Not me but a good friend has it and has two gorgeous little girls conceived naturally. She struggled with the first - she was quite overweight and was trying two years without luck. Stopped trying, lost 4 stone and got pregnant 2nd cycle. I think it took her 3 cycles with her 2nd. Good luck to you.
