We just got married in July and I always thought we would have a honeymoon baby. Well I got a BFN on my first cycle so didn't happen! So onto cycle 2...

Would be great to have someone on here to chat to.

I'm 32 and DH is 31 ttc #1 cycle #1

I agree with you jaykay it is exciting and scary!

After 12 years on the pill I do worry if ive left it too late, and no idea what my body is doing naturally! I have been taking folic acid and vit d. Need to start eating healthy again, fell off the wagon after the wedding lol

jaykay987 · 24/08/2013 11:32

I'm 32 as is DH. ttc #1.

Scary times!
Exciting times!
I swing from one emotion to the other! (sometimes on an hourly basis!)

lucyfluff · 24/08/2013 10:50

Im 30 and ttc number 4, second with hubster. My first two are from a previous relationship so are a bit older, its nice having little helpers :)

I couldnt wait to stop my patch, dh will have the snip if we are lucky enough to concieve again so I never have to use it again :)

keepswimming1 · 24/08/2013 10:03

Im also 29 and trying for No 1 :)

I agree wispa - so happy now I am off the pill

wispaxmas · 24/08/2013 09:28

Omg, newlywed, that sounds absolutely awful! I've never been happier to have not been on birth control! I wouldn't say you don't count yet, though. You ARE a newlywed and you're thinking baby, so welcome to the club Grin

I know we're all newlyweds in here, but how old are we? Does anyone already have children, or are we all trying for #1?

I'm 29, h is 34, no kids for either of us yet, and I think he's starting worry that there's something wrong with his swimmers, he must have thought the minute we ditched the condoms I'd be upduffed!

B1985 · 24/08/2013 09:16

Best of luck newlywed x

Newlywed2013 · 24/08/2013 03:54

Not sure if I qualify just yet, Got married 3rd aug, so only 3 weeks ago!! am patiently waiting for hospital referal to get my implanon out! it has gone missing and cannot be located on ultrasound!! but as soon as that bad boy is out we are going to TTC!!
Think im going to get frustrated as I have never had a regular period, ranging from 18 day cycle up to 44days!!
Also result of implant has been lack of sex drive and excruitiating pain during sex which is a bit of a problem!! hopefully when its out things will improve! :)

Good look to you all trying!!
xx

jaykay987 · 23/08/2013 22:25

woop woop! Despite a low opk this morning, I just spotted some EWCM!

(wow - the strangest things excite me these days! Grin )

offtogetmesomebrains · 23/08/2013 22:06

Thanks?I'll stop thinking about it. Women have been having babies for thousands of years and they weren't taking any folic acid?but I'm on pregnacare nonetheless!

keepswimming1 · 23/08/2013 21:32

Hey offtogetsomebrain I wouldn't worry to much.
I have only just started taking them, on my 10th tablet of pregnancy care. Just trying to eat healthy(ish) and upping my exercise. Most people I know never new they were pregnant let alone take these tabs

Good luck all :)

B1985 · 23/08/2013 20:39

I wouldn't worry brains it's just an extra thing u can do...plenty have no issues and get preg and healthy pregnacy a without ever taking!

1st time round I got preg without taking and only started taking once was pregnant.
X

B1985 · 23/08/2013 20:38

Been taking pregnacare conception one for 3 months now. But only started trying last month!

jaykay987 · 23/08/2013 20:28

I take pregnacare or my folic acid. I'm a bit worried though cause I read that those with bMi >35(which unfortunately I have) should take a much larger dose. But it seems you can only get that size on prescription.

wispaxmas · 23/08/2013 20:10

I've been taking pregnancy vitamins w/ folic acid for the past few weeks.

wispaxmas · 23/08/2013 20:09

Hello! Got married end of June and started vaguely 'trying' after. So, on cycle3, but not really kept track of anything other than AF, so we're being quite loosey goosey. I'm pretty lucky, though, have very regular 28/9 day and not been on the pill for years!

I'm getting a bit obsessed at the minute, though. I tested early and a bfn, but I'm not really due until Tuesday. Stupidly symptom spotting and thinking my fatigue and achy-ness is somehow a sign, but more likely just pms Sad

offtogetmesomebrains · 23/08/2013 19:35

Yep?I'm another hypothetical situation worrier! That's why I was worried about the folic acid situation having not been taking for the 3 months. DH thought I was being mental and stressing about nothing.

What are you lot doing re folic acid? Am I being mental worrying about it?! I've been taking it for 1.5 months now, plus improved diet etc.

Crystal049 · 23/08/2013 18:54

Hiya guys

Got married last August and came off pill in May to give my body a break, got my period straight away and bang on time every month so all great. Haven't started TTC yet but will be towards the end of this year just waiting for some building work to finish at our house and need to be earning, so excited and can't wait xxx

captaincake · 23/08/2013 16:21

PinkHat1 Not too good so far but it was the first cycle. It was 51 days so wouldn't have worked. I got 2 highs before I ran out of sticks but no peak. It does say it doesn't work for cycles over 42 days (I think) so I'm not surprised. I used the cheap amazon sticks later. I'm hoping that I will have a shorter cycle this month.

keepswimming1 · 23/08/2013 16:17

Jaykay - Yes exactly - I must of known I wasn't just wasting money :)

jaykay987 · 23/08/2013 16:07

That's good news Keepswimming. So using your opks might be insightful AND be put to good use!

B1985 · 23/08/2013 15:59

lol I worry over hypothetical scenarios atleast 20 times a day! hehe @jaykay

keepswimming1 · 23/08/2013 15:59

Hiya pinkhat,
I would just worry constantly, last time I went I got the dreaded belly bug. I don't think you can quite guarantee what your eating over there and its not the cleanest of places. I just don't think I could risk it.

I also love the sound of the Maldives, my parents went and the pictures was lovely!!

Well I have just had a tx from dh, he was due home mid Oct but now its looking like the beginning of Sept, now I just need him to be stick around for next months o.... fingers crossed (clearly I'm not holding out much hope for this months) :(

B1985 · 23/08/2013 15:57

LOL @ pinkhat.... my office has same! these odd mouse traps everywhere..im not sitting near them though!

M/S are so common, i didnt realise before or when i was preg! read up alot since though. Its quite frustrating u cant get an answer of WHY it happened im so OCD and perfectionist so i want to try get things right this time but we did nothing wrong ...hard thing to accept that "it just happens" but Drs say usually do because something is wrong with feotus so could be good thing!

Anyway good thoughts and positive thinking girls!

HoneyM was fab so glad we did it then was totally ready mind body and soul. Grin Was hoping to conceive then to but didnt fall anywhere near my fertile days (i think) cycles i think are messed up more cos im a stress head now!

jaykay987 · 23/08/2013 15:54

HMS Newly wed. I love it! (Wonder if it can be as lucky as the really exciting August bus!)

I love Thailand, but won't go pregnant. I'm sure it'd be fine. But Id worry constantly about everything I was eating and drinking. I think it's so easy to get a stomach bug and if I MMC Id blame myself (even though it prob wouldn't be related).
Also, Im not confident in the health care over there and it's a long way from home to rush back for anything medical!

Also flight probably wouldn't be that comfy (I get travel sick easy - so not sure if that wold mix well with pregnancy!)

Wow - for a hypothetical scenario - I've worried about a lot of aspects! Grin

PinkHat1 · 23/08/2013 15:22

Hi can I join? I got married early this year but only started ttc in July. So far have had 1 bfn, i'm due to test this time next week although may cave in and test on Monday or Tuesday! I didn't think I would, but I felt really disappointed when I got a bfn last month. Stupidly I though I would just get pregnant straight away, can't for the life of me think where I got that silly idea from...!

captaincake how are you finding the CBFM? I only started using it this month after all the recommendations from people on here as was finding it difficult to work out when I ovulated.

b1985 sorry to hear about your mmc, until coming on here I didn't realise just how common they were. Fingers crossed for your next cycle and for everyone else too! By the way, your honeymoon sounds amazing! We're yet to go on ours yet as we had a lot of stuff to do on our home which I wanted to get out of the way first. But the idea of Maldives and Belize just sounds like heaven especially where I'm sitting today! (Horrible horrible offices with mice traps ON and UNDER my desk!)

keepswimming is there a reason you wouldn't go to Thailand if you were pregnant?
