Has anyone got pregnant more quickly with #2 than #1

Having perused a few threads it seems quite common for it to take longer to get pg with #2. Is this always the case? Just about to start trying for #2 and already worrying that it might not happen!

Dc1 - 3 years and finally after ivf
Dc2 - first month naturally!!

4yoniD · 18/08/2013 21:28

1 - 1.5 years
2 - 1.5 minutes. Give or take.

misshoohaa · 18/08/2013 21:23

Number one was unplanned using the highly unsuccessful withdrawal method, number 2 cycle 4 and still going!

happyfrogger · 17/08/2013 21:44

12 months for #1 and first go for #2. But I think the more we practised the better I got at interpreting my fertile time. And a whole lot of luck!

Piddlepuddle · 17/08/2013 21:38

3 years plus for DC1

1st month trying for DC2

The age gap is 19 months, much less than we'd anticipated!!

internationallove985 · 17/08/2013 21:33

My first which ended in an M.C took just one attempt. I knew I was fertile so I had a O.N.S as I was not in a relationship. My D.D was conceived on a first (and last) date.
I've currently been ttc since April so this is my 5th cycle. xx

DD (now 8 months) - almost a year of trying
DC2 (8 weeks pg) - first time of "not even really trying but we should probably think about it in case it takes as long as the first time" trying.

I'm noticing a theme on this thread! Grin

gintastic · 17/08/2013 21:24

DD1 - 9 months
DS - 5 months
DD2 - one night...

I put it down to being more aware of my body and the fertile times of the month... I reckon DS would have been quicker if DH hadn't been away at some crucial points.

SlowlySlowlySlowly · 17/08/2013 21:22

2 years 3 months for DC 1
3 months for DC 2 :)

hardbeingme · 17/08/2013 00:32

took me a year to fall pregnant with dd, although the first six months were very casual if it happens it happens, after that though i worked out when i was ovulating and made more effort...

my twins on the other hand were conceived the month after i gave up breastfeeding dd (january), we dtd twice using the withdrawal method and on the second time the MAP - too late! realised i was pregnant valentines day; there are 14 months between them...

StealthToddler · 17/08/2013 00:20

3 years for ds1
1 month for ds2
2 weeks for ds3
1 weekend for ds4
Think I got better with practice Grin

applepieinthesky · 17/08/2013 00:14

This thread is encouraging. It took us 11 months to conceive DS. He's 9 months now and we have just started ttc DC2. I'm hoping it won't take as long this time.

SarahBumBarer · 16/08/2013 16:12

DC1 - 6 months

DC2 - 1st month. Poor DH Grin

Duplogiraffe · 16/08/2013 11:50

DC1 - 12 months
DC2 - 1st month

VelmaDaceDinkley · 16/08/2013 10:37

I month with DC1

5 years and 3 rounds of IVF for DC2

Same partner and we started trying for no 2 when DC1 was 15 months old.

utopian99 · 16/08/2013 10:32

My parents had me after 2 months trying and dbro appeared on the horizon just as they were thinking of trying again, but were still technically on precautions.

Dh and I are about to start TTC ds2 (ds took 2 months) but for some reason am really paranoid it won't take..

spacegirl81 · 15/08/2013 19:41

12 months with DS1, 1 months with DS2. They are 17 months apart Grin

MyNameIsAnAnagram · 15/08/2013 19:33

Yup, a year with ds1, 2nd month with ds2.

NaturalBlondeYeahRight · 15/08/2013 19:32

First DD 18 months and starting to get a little concerned. DD2 conceived while still BF 7 month dd1(and let's face it, there was NOT a lot of action in that department with a small baby)
Who on earth started the bf as contraception rumour? Grin

leelteloo · 15/08/2013 19:32

All 4 pregnancies first try. My dh now thinks he has rocket sperm!

Mouthfulofquiz · 15/08/2013 19:27

1st child - 1 month of trying.
2nd (yet to be born!) child - 2 months of trying.

Moche · 15/08/2013 11:59

1st child: 2nd month. 2nd child - still trying (1 and a half years on). Don't think there's a pattern - so just go for it.

Birgitz · 15/08/2013 11:09

1st child: 6 months, 2nd child: straight away. Ended up with a smaller age gap than anticipated!

Gooseysgirl · 15/08/2013 10:44

DC1 - 2nd month of trying
DC2 - 2nd month of trying (but was pretty much the immaculate conception as we DTD once that month)
Someone once said to me that if you try for DC2 within 9-18 months of having DC1 your body is still in pregnancy mode and your more likely to conceive quickly. I know loads of people who took time to conceive DC1, (some had IVF) but then went on to conceive their DC2s very fast Smile

soontobeslendergirl · 15/08/2013 10:41

No1 - over 2 years :(

No2 - just didn't use any protection at all and was still breasfeeding and now have two children 13 months apart, so maybe a month or so?
