Clomid success rates

Hi AmyLiz23, I also experience hot flushes and mood swings mostly when I am taking the tablets but also for a few days after I have finished.

It is hard... I do try and put it to the back of mind so I don't get my hopes up, which is soooo difficult.

I have been monitoring my tempreature and doing ovulation tests for the first time this month, though have no idea if they work properly because of the tablets.

I should get my results from the blood test tomorrow, so fingers crossed I did ovulate and maybe its just a matter of timing.

Womanlytales: I have been 'doing the deed' at least twice a week and in the middle of my cycle upping to three times. I did see an increase in my temp and a positive ovulation stick this month so hopefully I pinpointed the correct day. Not sure about the regulating of cycle. I go from 28 to 33.

Had my blood test for progestrone done this morning got to call the hospital on friday for the results so now i am worried that i havent ovulated! Since i started the clomid at the beginning of this month ive experienced hot flushes, mood swings which werent too servere to be honest even though my darling other half would probably tell you differnt! BUT lately i have felt bloated and soooo tired. I don't sleep very well at night because i am too warm or just find myself waking up and staring at the ceiling! I put this down to either the clomid or the fact i have too much on my mind! Does anybody understand where i am coming from? Everywhere i look i see pregnant women, or new born babies! it's beginning to get to me quite alot! i don't want to get my hopes up but then i don't want to think negative either!! anybody got any advice or who feel the same?

I am due to start Clomid tomorrow - cycle 1 on NHS. I have had clomid for two cycles before but those were unsuccessful. First time around I had headaches and a serious case of depression and ovulated (36.5) though didn't conceive. What's you advice on the frequency of ttc -- and also considering I have varied lengths of cycle - 28 - 38, does Clomid also regulate the length of the cycle to 28 so can I expect to ovulate on CD14?

Well I have taken my first lot of clomid it's now been over a week since took my last one! I now have had some stomach cramps and have got really sore nipples! Is this the side effects of clomid?

Hi, I'm on third cycle of clomid. Day 22 today, went for a blood test yesterday so fingers crossed i have ovulated. Also I went for a smear last week and have been called bcak to have a colposcopy. I'm really worried now! Has anyone else had same experience and do you know if Clomid has that effect on a smear test? My fertility nurse is on holiday and no one else seems to know!

Hope your all very well and enjoying TTC!! I have been to the hospital again this morning had yet another internal scan the 18mm folicle which was there Wednesday morning has now gone!!! which means i may have ovulated! i go back next wednesday for my Progestrone blood test to find out if i have!! so everything is crossed!! i am still going to do the dirty though because its all fun!! I just hope i have ovulated! i know ill be very lucky to fall pregnant the first month so i am not getting my hopes up, aslong as i have ovulated it is a start!!! We did the (you know what)tuesday and last night so hopefully we timed it well

Bit annoyed at the doctors for not really explaning more. I want to know if I am worrying because I have good cause to, or if it is because I am an idiot

Vallinnapod I am totally unsure what CD20 is lol!! Am i right in thinking that it is what day of your cycle it is, starting from the first day of your period????

If so then i am on day 15!?

I havent really been explained anything and when i have read through all the above i dont understand have of what people have said!!!

Would love to give you some positive new but I am clinging on to hope this month, as I mentioned in the post above. Blood test must have shown there was a teeny bit of hope as I have another scan on Friday but it will be 'CD20'. Out of interest what day are you on?

Hope you are all well and enjoying Trying!! I have been to the hospital yet again this morning for yet another internal scan! fourth one this month grr and back again on friday!! my folicle is 18mm and my womb lining is thick so its a good sign. So lets hope on friday i am ovulating or ovulated and the trying we have done will pay off!!
I dont want to get my hopes up though because we will be disappointed if nothing happens .
Can anybody give me some advice?

Just over 1/2 way through my first month of 50mg clomid, Positive start but no follicle growth since Weds :( Blood test today to see if it is a long cycle or just no ovulation.

I have finished my first month on clomid and have been to the hospital for my cycle tracking. Been this morning and my left side seems to have two folicles which are bigger and hopefully will get even bigger! I go back wednesday for another internal and for them to have another look to see if i am ovulating! so will keep doing the dirty until then lol! I have regualar periods so hopefully my body will just produce enough hormones for me to fall pregnant. I don't want to get my hopes though . I have recently been suffering hot flushes and my temper seemed very short aswell. But part from that nothing else.

Also as I have pcos I have irregular periods does this matter when taking clomid??? X

Yeah I'm trying to think positive!! It's difficult as me and my husband have been trying for years but now have the help we needed!! I like Reading the success stories makes me feel good about clomid and is nice to know that it's helped so many people xx

Positive thinking! My side effects were ok just hot flushes and a bit hormonal. Spoke to hospital who said it takes some people a couple or even three months before their body settles down and it works like or should, so here's hoping! I am sure you will be fine so many people get ph first month, just get busy loads!!! Good luck x

I got pg with dd2 on my first cycle of 50mg clomid. Had no side effects at all.

Hey thank you for replying to me well I have started taking them took my second one this morning, gotta go have a blood test in couple of weeks! I have read some stories on here, it's mad that it's worked first time round for people!! Ha bet I dont have that luck ha!! I'm only on 50g at the moment tho, is the success still good? Xx

Results came back at 38.4 I don't even really understand what this means? Is this good?

Hi Glou I totally understand your concerns, but you only have to read on here about the success stories! It hasn't worked for me this month though as I can period is on it's way, gutted as loads of people seem to have success first time round, but chin up and keep going! Good luck to you, just think you could be writing your own success story very soon :) x

Hey guys I have been having investigations the last couple of months got hospital soon they have spoken to me about clomid I'm so worried this won't work xx

I am on day 20 of my first cycle of clomid, 50mg and have had a few side effects, first it was hot flushes and a bit more hormonal than usual ( days 2-8 or 9) and now really bloated! Going for a blood test tomorrow to see if I ovulated, hope so bit no apparent signs. The ov kits showed positive around day 14 and again 16 and 17 so not convinced that they work on clomid. Thats good then.... As i wrote this earlier today i went to the toilet to find out i had come on my period 2 days early!!! i'm unsure whether it is a proper one because i'm not heavy yet so i will leave it a while and hopefully will be starting my course within the next 2 days!! unsure to whether i need to take it tomorrow or friday as its the afternoon i have come on and not the morning.. i need to call the hospital to arrnage my internal (the joys) , so i will ask them to confirm

Hi All....

I have been up an down the hospital since October last year having internal scans etc. 6 weeks ago i had a Lapaoscopy and dye test which revealed that everything is fine and i have no blockages or leaks. I do however have a cyst on my right overie and a small one growing on my left. But apparently they are nothing to worry about as it is normal in women to have these and they come and go themselves .
My darling fiance has had 2 swim tests which releved his little men were ok which was a releif to us both .
I have also got PCOS, but have regular periods!!!! confusing i know!!! my body is a mess . I have been given 50mg of clomid to take for the next 3 months 1 a day for 5 days. By right i should start them this weekend so lets see what happens!! After reading the statements on here i'm abit nervous with the side affects!!!
