alynat I remember my mum telling me about being shaved when she had me too. I'm amazed that they could actually do my Erpc through the undergrowth but the minute I got pregnant I was too sick to care about my bikini line! Now I don't want to speak too soon but I think I've stopped bleeding!! Had loads of pain and bleeding so dr gave me a "hefty dose" of antibiotics to try and shift infection before we go on holiday on next week. Fingers crossed - although the thought of a bikini with my no-longer-pregnant-but-lumpy-belly is not appealing - may have to think about the old bikini line too....

alyant79 · 14/07/2013 18:37

Are those of you thinking about adoption looking locally or abroad? Not sure how it all works. My dad has two adopted siblings but I suspect it was a lot easier back then.

Missp we seem to be in synch - both very short abnormal cycles

Misspositivity · 13/07/2013 23:27

Welcome cosmic. Sorry you find yourself here.

AF well and truly here. Painkillers hot water bottle and tmi but it's just lump of black clots. No red blood. Not sure what's going on but something isn't right. Started 10dpo and day 25 ( have never had such a shortperiod before).

trinpy hope AF dosen't get you. We need some good news to keep spirits up.

I have to admit I got a Good wax about 1 week before I had DD. To be honest I am not sure why I bothered as I had a big pile hanging out my bum as DD was a 10lb so I am sure the docs were too busy laughing at my misfortune to notice my "tidy garden".

alyant79 · 13/07/2013 22:54

Maybe they don't like pubes because it makes it harder to do the stitches???
According to my mum, when I was born it was standard practice to shave you first thing when you came in to give birth. She hippied out and refused that, had to get a special dr and all. Also my dad had to have a letter on him at all times saying that he had the docs permission to be at the birth. Sounds like I was born in the 50s right? But no, I'm only 34

Hooray for champagne, whiskey and shagathons

fedupofrainydays · 13/07/2013 22:33

Oh yes, I had to remove my nail varnish too when I got there. Wasted effort! All a bit of a blur now..

So pleased you are feeling positive seaside and I'm with you on fertile being the least hardest time of the month. I start mine mid next week. Bring on the shagathon.

Ah just think what an ace house you will have at the end of this and new baby will have a lovely kitchen to wean in and splat food all over the place

Good plan re dart board, I like it!!

SeasideLily · 13/07/2013 22:20

I can't believe docs would even consider it - maybe if they had hair right down to their knees or something, but surely the messier side of childbirth (yet to experience but most of my friends are doctors so heard all the stories...) would be worse than a few pubes?!

I had to take all my toenail varnish off before surgery fedup - my DH actually did it for me, which was an oddly sweet moment amongst all the crap. Thanks for adoption tips - I wonder if it's the same in Scotland? I've heard there are moves to make it easier, that would be great. I am scared about possibly starting the process - it sounds like an emotional minefield. I'm sure I'll be happily knocked up by Christmas though, must keep the positivity up!

Glass of whisky also helping positivity :-) About to go into fertile window, this is my least hated bit of the month. Feel I can actually be productive. My silver lining to the ectopic is that we've been doing our house up over the last 6 months, and still have no kitchen - won't until at least end of Sept. I was due in a month, what a nightmare that would have been - my first child and no kitchen...

Sorry AF has lynched so many people, it's such a kicker. Whistles therapy sounds a good idea! And maybe a dart board with a pic of that woman from the Tampax advert who pretends to be Mother Nature in the middle...

fedupofrainydays · 13/07/2013 21:39

Ha ha - just read about the hairiness. I gave up waxing after 4 months pregnant as was sooooo painful. But I do recall with dc 1 getting out the Veet a couple of days before my due date. Plus I also de haired before my erpc. And painted my toe nails. And I've heard I'm not the only one!

Sorry you are here 'cosmic' ... Sounds like a long and sad journey for you. We are all here to listen and support. Big hugs.

sal I agree it could be implantation - you could have ov'd maybe earlier or 5 dpo is possible too!! Exciting!

missp am sorry af has turned up. Hope you are ok. Big hugs

So i was on the champagne today after aly's lead yesterday.... Good plan aly!

Sal1977 · 13/07/2013 20:52

You'd be surprised how many 'about to pop' ladies I have to do Brazilians or Hollywood waxes for. Maybe there is a hot Gynae type doctor here in Plymouth even more reason to get knocked up....

alyant79 · 13/07/2013 20:50

I was horrified to hear from a doctor friend of mine that her gynae friends sometimes comment on women's grooming during childbirth. I was like, wtf? Surely they have better things to do than care if we've gotten a bit overly hairy.
I remain convinced that they were really talking about people with serious hygiene problems.
That friend of mine made sure she got waxed before the big day...
No doubt they commented on my hairiness, but I don't care. They had many more dramatic things to worry about in the end

Trinpy · 13/07/2013 18:59

hello to cosmic

sal I think it is possible to have implantation on 5 dpo. fc for you!

missp sorry to hear af got you Sad

penguinita I imagine so you look nice for the midwives? Wink

I'm currently on 11dpo and all signs are pointing to af. Hoping it's not really true, but its a lot harder to kid myself that af signs are preg signs now I know what pregnancy feels like Angry .

Penguinita · 13/07/2013 17:09

Hi cosmic, and welcome. Sounds like you have had a long hard journey to here, hope we can give you some support.

I'm not really sure what the point is of having a Hollywood wax when you are 38 weeks?

Temp this morning suggests ovulation, so I'm not holding out much hope for this month unless DH's sperm can live three and a half days Confused

alyant79 · 13/07/2013 16:20

Welcome cosmic. Sorry to hear about your mc and ttc journey - hopefully you'll have an easier time of it this go round.

Bugger missp!! Bugger bugger bugger. Enjoy the alcohol on the beach then.

Sal it could be implantation? 6-10 is average so 5 is only one day off that. Oooh fingers crossed!

My stupidly early af is a bit heavier than usual and I'm taking that as a good sign. I've been worried that my post-mc afs have been too light, so maybe this is a delayed clear out.
Nothing like positive thinking is there girls?

I agree sal, I've two friends due any day now and I'm fine with that and super excited. It's the two due in August when I was who are more painful to see

I had no bubbles induced ill effects this morning and even went for a run Grin. Obviously didn't drink enough Wink

Sal1977 · 13/07/2013 15:35

Welcome cosmic, sorry you are here, but you're in good company!

Had to do a Hollywood wax on a 38wk preggo lady today. Felt fine about it did consider pulling the wax off slowly for just a split second it's more people who would be the same as me that I get a bit loopy about!!

I'm on 5DPO and had a weeny streak of blood when I wiped and some slighty tinted CM yesterday. Too early for implantation I think and way too early for AF. Could it be from OV do you think?

cosmickitten · 13/07/2013 10:01

Hi can I come and join you please? It's 4 weeks since my erpc after a missed miscarriage at 11 weeks). We tried for 15 months before and it was my first pregnancy. The TTC was harder to to cope with than losing baby in some ways.

Very scared to find myself back here and need all the positivity ( and honest venting) going. Not yet had first AF but have plenty of signs she is on her way, just want it over with so we can start again.

Misspositivity · 13/07/2013 09:03

:-(((. Temp drop this morning below cover line then brown discharge when wiped. Looks like it is all over for me this month.
Oh well dust oneself off and get on the horse again.

Lunch today with my pregnant (17weeks) cousin beach then family BBQ (with alcohol!!!!)

alyant hope your head dosen't hurt with all the bubbles last night

fedupofrainydays · 13/07/2013 07:29

alyhope you enjoyed the champagne - nice way to end the week!!!

fedupofrainydays · 13/07/2013 07:27

Morning, ready for hottest day of the year?!

ks78 I think aly advice re telling work makes good sense. I debated making something up but didnt have the energy/ know how long it was going to go on for / didn't want the stress of continuing a story so I told my team. They've been good and not told the rest of the (smallish) company I work for apart from HR and the MD. but i understand why they needed too. i was worried they would put me in the 'baby obsessed woman who doesn't care about her career and wants to leave" box which they really haven't although it's totally true and being primarily men (but all fathers) they have been suprisingly good about it!

I too wanted to get back to work as otherwise would feel I was just stewing over something I couldn't change. So I worked from home the week after erpc and then back the following week. I felt ok physically but a mess emotionally, but felt I needed to get back on with it to help me.

Obviously everyone is different and so is their work environment.

But am pleased everyone is putting on their nice new underwear (weird how it makes you feel good!)

Penguinita · 13/07/2013 00:23

Hi all, I've been out of it for a while due to mad busyness at work and lots of sunshine out of work. Checking in to see the POAS results - massive congrats saggy! You've been so supportive of all of us on here, you really deserve such great news! But have a haddock slap all the same Grin

I'm officially on CD19 and in the 2ww, but my temps don't seem to be suggesting ovulation yet. I suppose things might be a bit messed up still following the MC. We DTD lots recently, but DH is now away for 5 days. I did briefly consider suggesting the syringe method to him, but I thought he might never come back if I did Grin

alyant79 · 12/07/2013 21:54

Ks78 do your co-workers know why you were off? I found it good going back as it stopped me sitting at home stewing over everything, but at the same time hardly anyone knew why I'd been off (2 weeks only). So on my first day back a few people asked if I'd had a bad flu. I mumbled in answer that it was a bit worse than that, but couldn't say more or I'd've cried. In hindsight I wish I'd told them what had happened, as I then felt that I'd been through something awful but wasn't getting credit for it. If you know what I mean. Silly I know.
I kind of wish it had been acknowledged, but not dwelt on.My boss did good, he's a really untactful German guy who usually puts his foot in everything, but he said just the right things. I reckon his wife coached him ;)

Anyway good luck and I'm sure you'll be fine

Emki I'm blushing.

Hi kata!! I like the smelly fish

Emki · 12/07/2013 21:12

ks78 hugs to you - and good luck next week x

alyant79 · 12/07/2013 20:33

Champagne!! What every good Friday evening needs.

Emki · 12/07/2013 18:51

aly cos you are so positive and full of beans and always say the right things to people - hope you have a lovely evening with dh

Retail therapy is definitely a good idea !

KS78 · 12/07/2013 18:44
