Chuckle re 'new balls please'

I know you are right sal re doc but will devise plan b when that happens and they tell me to go away and come back in another six months. One thing at a time here!

Sal1977 · 17/07/2013 17:41

I know it feels like forever, I'm just a month after you but it took me 6 cycles to conceive MMC and I tried for a year with my ex-husband (new balls please!), so I get your frustration!

I fear that the doc will say that if you're having regular cycles and have had what they class as a pregnancy in the last year (as well as a healthy baby), they won't see you for 12 months from the MC. I'm 36 in September and he said as I had acheived PG twice (both MC) they wouldn't see me til the end of the year. It's bollocks really, but we just can't afford to go private and our only choice is to keep going!

Grrrr....

fedupofrainydays · 17/07/2013 17:38

aly we could be the same person. Conceived dc1 on second cycle of trying, and the second pregnancy that ii subsequently lost to MMC was conceiced in first month of trying. Foolishly thought this ttc was going to be easy for us, even after the mc. But Mc was in feb and now 5/6 cycles down the line and been PUPO too many times to keep believing it. And super sperm also being debated in our household!! I too am giving it one more go this month then off to the doctors. Feel I had my lucky spell that's now officially run out and so don't want to leave it too long without seeking some medical advice and help.

Good luck to those in 2ww and POAS Friday... Will be looking out for some bfps!

cosmickitten · 17/07/2013 17:06

See typos hangs head in shame, stupid phone and fat fingers combo !!

cosmickitten · 17/07/2013 16:58

Aly you may have tarried it already but I used Vitea Agnes cactus for short luteal. I did see an improvement after 3 months. Of course that could have been time not Agnes cactus but I felt it was worth it.

TTC can be very very hard. I mentioned before how scary the idea if being back ttc is to me. For me I'm planning on trying to be busy and healthy. Will do all ttc madness but will try to limit the amount of head space I give it. Ie only obsessing 3 times a day for 15 min. This will be a Massive improvent on how I was at the start of the year!

alyant79 · 17/07/2013 16:10

It was in Feb. This is ttc cycle 5 (or 6 if you count the wtf cycle), and I know that isn't a long time really and that lots of you are in a similar boat, but it still feels like FOREVER. Also because I got pg after 2 cycles with dd and on the first go with my mmc, I've never really actually properly experienced the frustration of ttc until now.
Also my luteal phase seems to be very short which is worrying me (having reanalysed my FF chart, it was only 10 days this last cycle).

Enough complaining from me! I'm just feeling a bit down today.
Sorry.

I should focus on the stats that say you've got roughly equal chance of conceiving every month for the first 6 or so months of trying. And if I look at my batting average it's not too bad actually. This just balances out the incredible luck I had previously. (but I think we can now safely say that DH doesn't have the super sperm he used to gloat about, haha!)

Sal1977 · 17/07/2013 13:19

When was your MC Aly?

alyant79 · 17/07/2013 13:04

I've been PUPO too many times since my mc to keep up the optimism for that, but i'm glad that you guys can :)

I'm CD6 today and should be gearing up for the shagathon - but am going to be sweltering in a tent with DD from thu-mon so that's out. My strategy this month is going to be at least 3 days in a row over what i hope is the critical period. And temping to tell when we can collapse in exhaustion.
If it doesn't work this month i'm off to the docs. It's getting very depressing that i'm still here.

Sal1977 · 17/07/2013 12:53

Lets be strong Penguin.

I always think its worse to test early and get a negative cos then it feels like a lifetime before AF arrives and you're just prolonging the agony. At least if you wait tgise few extra days, if AF comes, you're already into the next cycle and if she doesn't, you have a few more days of hope. PLUS, if you test at 10dpo and get a BFP there is the chance it's a chemical (boo hiss) and you only get to say that you're 3+3....which sounds crap.

We can do it.....

Penguinita · 17/07/2013 11:19

I love the PUPO concept! I'll be PUPO too, have had sore boobs for a few days (probably all in my mind though).

Ooh sal, can we be that strong? Maybe we can hold on if we encourage each other!

Why not get some Internet cheapies triplespin? They are about 30p each if you buy in bulk! I'd be bankrupt by now if I stuck to CB tests Grin

triplespin · 17/07/2013 09:17

Hi everyone - just marking my place. Welcome to all the new joiners and sorry that you find yourself here.
penguin and sal yes please poas on friday - it would be nice to hear some positive news before the weekend ! I will be 10 dpo (or supposed ovulation as per the opk ) after my miscarriage on Friday, so am also a bit tempted to poas, but will probably pass on it. I don't have any internet cheapies and want to save my CB HPT when there is a greater chance of my being pregnant.

alyant79 · 17/07/2013 08:40

penguin and sal exciting times! I love to POAS so if I were you i'd POAS friday, but not get too down if it's negative. But i'm a POAS addict.

funny as others have said you're good to go again as soon as the bleeding stops, but it's important to check that you get a negative pg test. Sounds like everything went smoothly for you so i'm sure that won't take too long.
Also you're not insane - many people want to try again ASAP, it seems to be a normal feeling. I certainly did.

cosmic I think making lots of plans is a sensible idea. You can't just put your life on hold expecting that you'll be pg soon. I missed out on signing up for a few things because I thought I'd be heavily pg - nope. And that feeling of missing out makes me even more bitter than just the mc or lack of another pregnancy.
KS78 you should aim for plan B too! tempt the gods of fate...

Sal1977 · 16/07/2013 22:20

Right penguin, I'm on day 27 on Friday with a 30 day cycle, I'll hold on til next Friday (if AF doesn't arrive) if you will...?

Felt a bit nauseous today and have now decided that I'm PUPO - pregnant until proven otherwise. Anyone joining me? Grin

Penguinita · 16/07/2013 22:13

Grapefruit juice - bleurgh. That is way down my list of things to try, don't think I could ever grow to like it!

Trying to decide if I should POAS on Friday. CD26 seems a bit early, but I don't think I could wait a whole week longer and I don't want to be a naughty girl and get "fished" for rule breaking Grin

Penguinita · 16/07/2013 22:08

Welcome thatsofunny, sorry you find yourself here with us.

My view is that you can start TTC again as soon as you feel emotionally ready and you've had a negative test. However, it took me 4 weeks to go from beta hcg of 226 to negative. You might be totally different and I don't want to depress you, but it's better to be emotionally prepared for a potential wait, just in case. Flowers

cosmickitten · 16/07/2013 21:04

Thatsofunny - sorry for your lose. There are different schools of thought re trying again. Many people want wait for one period post misscarriage. The misscarriage assocation advised me that waiting for a period isn't necessary. However unprotected sex before the bleeding / spotting stops is an infection risk, so best avoided. Waiting for a - ve is probably wise too, so you can be sure a +ve is a new pregnancy ( and that you have no retained products).

Trying again is personal choice and if you're feeling ready then its right for you. I started trying the day my test was -ve. For me and my partner it felt right. In fact could cope with idea of preventing a pregnancy despite still mourning the one we'd lost.

KS78- it's hard isn't, teaching in school gives me little joy ( love the classroom hate all the rest) but teaching environmental education is amazing (and os more weighted to what i lice about education). Plan b is looking more likely. If a baby muddles it up I would be thrilled. But another supply contract would be very hard.

KS78 · 16/07/2013 20:43

Tea - you are so right about the grapefruit juice!! Starts off horrible and then you find yourself quite fancying a glass! Cosmic I'm in the same position as you - I've been looking into getting out of teaching - the only reason I would stay at my current school is if I got pregnant. I feel like I'm at a real crossroads - stay in teaching and hope I get pregnant soon - or go for a new career. I think you should go for plan B - you're bound to get pregnant much quicker!

Thatssofunny · 16/07/2013 20:42

Hi there...please, may I join you? I had an mc last Friday at about 5 weeks (very early,...cd36 or 37,..at times my cycles go on to cd34). I know, I should be feeling more upset, but I've done the "feeling upset" bit now (been in tears and quite hysterical several times between Thursday and yesterday) and just want to move on. I'm feeling a bit like I always feel when I find out that the pregnancy test is negative yet again - we had been trying for two years to get this first pregnancy. Sad

Any idea when we can start to ttc again? It was a natural mc, no pain, no great blood loss...just seemed to quietly and calmly slip away. Sad My periods are worse than this...Angry (I really do feel like someone's taking the piss by telling me I've had an mc.) I'm still spotting and lightly bleeding "dark brown stuff" (tmi), which a normal sanitary towel can easily cope with (not really needed more than a panty liner so far, but it's starting to get a little heavier...but not much).
Can we try again once I've stopped spotting? EPU told me to take a test on the weekend and it should be negative by then. HCG levels were apparently already dropping,...from a low starting point of 350 on the Thursday.
Am I just insane to want to try again so quickly? (It's not a coping mechanism,...at least I don't think it is. I'm coping ok.) Hmm

cosmickitten · 16/07/2013 20:19

Someone mention trying not to let ttc define you. I struggled from months 9-14 with this. I found it hard to make plans when we trying for baby. It seem rash and unwise.

18 months after the lets get pregnant and one missed misscarriage later. I feel a bit lost. I need to give my body a chance to recover and then see if we fall pregnant naturally ( was due to start infertility treatment a week after falling pregnant ).

Although we are trying (have been since getting -ve test post erpc). I can't let myself think about it too much, it's all too scary. Making lots plans for next 6 months around my career ( looking to move into environmental education from teaching). This means less supply work and more volunteering. Money wise not best plan pre baby but a voice in head tells me time for plan b. No child and a the wrong job 3 years from now is too hard to consider.

Am I mad for trying this? I figure if we have our longed for baby I can change the plan.

TeaAndANatter · 16/07/2013 18:37

One month into the grapefruit juice, I can confirm that it goes from

flohs · 16/07/2013 18:35

Thanks Aly - feeling pretty low but I guess it's because I was so hopeful. I can't even remember what it was like to feel pregnant now. Someone told me today to not let TTC define who you are and I am really trying but it's all consuming and is such a rollercoaster. Have you got any plans for this month? I just bought grapefruit juice for the first time! I hate grapefruit juice - such sacrifices!

alyant79 · 16/07/2013 15:20

jelly a lot of people have a long cycle straight after a mc. if you did ov when you thought that you did, it could just have implanted late. still possible to get a bfp. If i were you i'd test in another few days unless AF appears first. But it's quite possible that you didnt' ovulate, as an anovulatory cycle is quite common too.
IT's a pain the waiting!

great news christine! I remember you. I hope that the scan goes well tomorrow. fingers crossed!

ChristineDaae · 16/07/2013 11:19

Hello, I haven't been on here for a while as too scared to 'say it out loud' but I'm now pregnant again after MC over Valentines day, I have my 12 week scan booked in for tomorrow and am absolutely terrified!!
Good luck to all in here TTC!

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 16/07/2013 11:10

Normally have 30/31 day cycles I meant to say! But is a long cycle to be expected post-mc?

OrangeMochaFrappucino · 16/07/2013 11:08

Hi, am lurking around as I have no idea what my body is doing now. I had an early mc last month at 5+6 and counting the first day of bleeding as CD1 I'm now on CD34 with no sign of AF but BFN this morning. I thought I ovulated on CD17 as I had EWCM and some of it was slightly blood-tinged which I thought could be ov spotting? But that would make me 16 dpo now so I guess if I was pregnant I would definitely have got BFP by now?
