Wonderful news Rainbow! Just a little minnow being lobbed your way for cheering me up Smile.

Just been lurking and catching up; sorry to see new faces, and that people are feeling blue. I'm feeling - wistful, I guess. Just met friend's newborn for the first time - two weeks old. She's beautiful, the youngest baby I've ever met, and I just feel like...that could have been me in a month. But I keep telling myself it couldn't have been, because it wasn't.

I know what you all mean about it feeling like forever - this will be our 2nd month TTC since the time out, and it already feels like an age. I can't really imagine it ever happening. A bit of me just feels like it would be too good to be true. But then I remember when I was a teenager, and worrying and worrying because everyone else had started their periods (oh the days when I wanted AF to arrive!) or had lost their virginity, it felt like it would never be my turn. But then it was, and I wondered why I'd been so worried. We will all be there soon!! We got there before, and we'll get there again.

triplespin · 18/07/2013 19:45

congratulations rainbow! really exciting news. Something to cheer us up too as we were all getting a bit down on the thread.

Trinpy · 18/07/2013 18:36

Congratulations Rainbow! You have no self-control Grin .

cosmic just been reading what you wrote about being made a year post mc for another fertility appointment. I was 10 days away from my first fertility appointment when I got my bfp (also first ever). When I mc my gp told me to call the clinic asap and see if I could still have my cancelled appointment. Clinic had given it away but they made me another appointment immediately - there was no mention of waiting for another year (which I'm very thankful for). Maybe different clinics have different rules about this?

Would love to poas tomorrow as Im a poas addict, but this is cycle 0, I have irregular cycles, and I did once have a 28 day luteal phase, so it is still very possible that af will show up in the next week.

nearlyreadytopop · 18/07/2013 18:20

I'm just wondering about 'the syringe method'??? im not sure who it was but I need to know if it workedGrin

Penguinita · 18/07/2013 17:40

Great news rainbow! But have a big salmon slap for not being able to wait another 8 hours until Friday! Really hope it is third time lucky for you.

In the nicest way, i hope the pigeon poo doesn't work sundance, as I'm not sure i want to add that to my list of things to try for getting pg... Grin We'll all be chasing pigeons around if you get a bfp!

nearlyreadytopop · 18/07/2013 16:57

congratulations rainbow Grin Lucky number 3

Sundance2007 · 18/07/2013 16:34

Congratulations Rainbow, but..... ! :) that's fantastic news, congratulations.

3 times, definitely a lucky number so hope this is a sticky bean for you!

RainbowConnections · 18/07/2013 16:13

Bloody hell. HPTs arrived today, couldnt resist having a go....BF(scary)P!

Sorry I know I've jumped the queue. Feels very unreal rather than exciting. This is the third time since March. Third time lucky?

I have absolutely no symptoms like I did for last 2. Maybe a good sign. Fingers crossed.

Sundance2007 · 18/07/2013 16:12

Have a great time Aly

Right, I'm booked in with the doctors at 9am to finally speak to someone about these pains that I'm getting continuously - ever since my mc I've been getting sharp pains in what feels like my right ovary area, it was the same pain I got just before I started to miscarry but it's been there ever since. Hopefully it will be nothing but DH is insisting I get it checked out.

Also, and I know it's weird to ask, but any advice on what I can say to my dr that isn't as blunt as..."I want to have some sort of fertility check up as I'm still not preggers yet"? Not sure they will go for that.

Emki · 18/07/2013 13:26

aly hope you have a great time

cosmickitten · 18/07/2013 12:47

Ooh Latitude jealous. Have a fab time :-)

alyant79 · 18/07/2013 12:33

Trinpy poas you crazy girl. How can you stand it?

Good luck for any others poas tomorrow.

Thanks for the bbt til sal, will check it out. Genius.
Cosmic thanks for the gynae info.

Welcome back from hols sundance! Pigeon poo is defo lucky.

Right, I'm off to latitude, see you all next week!

cosmickitten · 18/07/2013 11:25

Aly if a scan will help you ( knowing helps me) maybe look at a private gynecological scan.. A company near me that does antenatal scans also does these for £80. Not cheap but do able.

My local health authority will not find any fertiliy treatment if you have paid for any private care before hand. Just 1 test, scan or consultantion voids your right to nhs care. However private gynecological care is fine!!! Hence gynecological scan not fertiliy investigation.

I was 5 days off starting fertility treatment before bfp ( first ever) and have been told to wait a year post misscarriage. So although I hope your Gp is more helpful a plan b might be wise.

Re not obsessing it is almost impossible but I found it really started to damage my mental health and marriage after 9'months last time, so I'm trying to limit that now if possible. That said at 5 weeks posted mmc I'm fed up of waiting for mu first period. I really hope it comes soon ( unless a bfp comes but trying not to hope for that), waiting another 3 weeks plus sounds grim.

Sundance2007 · 18/07/2013 10:51

Hello ladies, I'm back from my Jolly Holidays. Been out the loop for a fortnight so I've scanned through quickly to get a brief update on where everyone is... congratulations to saggy and thundercats, really exciting news. Welcome newbies, sorry you find yourselves here but it's the most supportive group and you're in good company.

Having 2 weeks away has been great, I decided to just drink what I want and dtd whenever rather than referring to any sort of calendar, I didn't even take any opks with me though I know I must have ov whilst we were away so it's a case of waiting now. I'm 3 days into the 2 ww and feeling quite relaxed about it.

I got pood on by pigeons 4 TIMES whilst we were away, on separate occasions I might add, hopefully that's a sign of good luck, though it certainyl didn't feel like that on the fourth occasion when it felt like someone had thrown an egg in my face!!

good luck to anyone poas tomorrow! Any takers?

triplespin · 18/07/2013 10:43

penguin you are right I better buy a load of internet cheapies before dh sees the credit card statement.
I also have a feeling that I am in here for the long haul like some of you. First pregnancy and mc were conceived in 1-2 cycles, but I just have a feeling that it will take me longer this time.

trinpy how can you hold out so long ! when is af due? Surely 17 dpo and no af is a good sign.

I have no pregnancy symptoms (unlike last time - when i tested 10dpo and had a BFP !).

Trinpy · 18/07/2013 09:20

Forgot to say - hello to new people Smile

Trinpy · 18/07/2013 09:19

Rainbow my cake tummy is awful! I've already been described as 'nice and cuddly' by someone today Shock .

Im 16 dpo (I think) but too scared of a bfn to test. Maybe next week if no af by then.

Good luck to everyone testing tomorrow! Hoping to see lots of bfps.

RainbowConnections · 18/07/2013 08:43

Morning. Welcome to new people, sorry you're here.

Glad I'm not the only comfort eater! If i get BFN tomorrow, which i fully expect, i'm going to really throw myself into getting fit. I have developed a round cake tummy which is not at all good.

I started running a couple of weeks ago but its been far too hot.

I'll be 11dpo (i think as OPKs didnt really work), have no symptoms but wont be able to stop myself POAS.

fedupofrainydays · 18/07/2013 07:35

I'm still uncomfortably full of pizza from last night!

Emki · 18/07/2013 06:40

Thank you!!! Shall start next week - hope you all have good days today xxx

Sal1977 · 18/07/2013 00:26

If you google 'bbt adjustment calculator' there are links that come up that will adjust your temp depending on how different your wake up time is. Clever.

alyant79 · 17/07/2013 22:47

Been wonderjng where you were emki. i Just stuffed my face with Indian and I'm not even in the 2ww.
I like temping so far. I'm doing it first thing when I wake up rather than setting my alarm. That means the time varies between 5:30 this morning and 7 if I'm lucky. I know you're meant to be consistent but they seem to be relatively stable anyway.
Last cycle it was quite clear when I ov'd at least down to one or two days. So at least you know when to give up sexing.
Oh and I signed up to fertility friend and they sent me 18 days worth of emails teaching me all about it. The most useful ones were the last couple where they show a whole lot of abnormal charts and how to interpret them.

Emki · 17/07/2013 21:05

Hello ladies, i've been lurking ....

fedup and aly* I also had mc in February (2nd mc) and also with DD, we didn't even try to get pregnant, with 1st mc, first try again and then with 2nd mc took about 5 months!!!! That's when we were trying! When we weren't trying it just happened straight away.

I'm a bit behind you on cycles, as AF took 11 weeks to arrive after ERPC, I've now had 2 full cycles (3 including WTF cycle) and it still feels like FOREVER!!!!

I'm not sure what to think about this month.. I'm using OPK sticks, and I don't know what happened last week, I'm not sure when/ if I got the positive ... think I was a little stressed by it all and also I was POAS so early in the morning I don't think I focused properly. Anyway we DTD 3 times, Mon, Wed and Fri, DH was away the other nights .... hoping that was enough and it was at the right tme .... AF is due next Thursday (i think).

I've started acupuncture this month, more to help with stress, and she has suggested temping, so that's what i'll do next month - I see some of you do this, any advice???

Does anyone else find that they start off very healthy in their cycle and then during the 2WW start being not quite so?? I don't know the matter with me is ... today, I had some of DD chocolate covered raisins (yuk), an icelolly, some biscuits and just stuffed my face at dinner .... comfort eating perhaps?? EEK iv'e gotta get in a bikini in few weeks!

alyant79 · 17/07/2013 20:30

fedup are you sure you're not me? Shock that's freaky!

sal the new balls seem to be working already, if 6 months instead of a year is anything to go by. You are of course completely right re doc, but i'm going to go anyway. It's mostly the short luteal phase that i'm worried about and i just want them to do a scan and see if they can see anything. I'm sure they'll send me packing but it's worth a try.

cosmic thanks for the tip re agnus castus. I haven't tried it but i have heard about it. I've really only just discovered my short luteal phase because i've only just started temping/ov sticks. I might give it a try if nothing changes in the next month or two.

also great plan to not obsess and be healthy and busy. Easier said than done methinks. On that note though, I will go for a run tomorrow morning! booyah!

Penguinita · 17/07/2013 18:48

Shame they removed that Tennis smiley! Grin
