A new thread for all you lovely, crazy ladies. Here's to lots of BFPs!

OP posts:
icklemssunshine1 · 02/07/2013 10:22

That should reading "causing me to have a period mid cycle" - how did my iPhone get that?!

icklemssunshine1 · 02/07/2013 10:21

Alyant I've never temped but is say trust your body. Before the MC f-ed up my cycles I knew I OV as I spotted a little - now I have full on heavy bleeding around OV. Not very inviting for DH & I doubt any of his swimmers could past that torrent anyway :(

Rainbow the bleeding is easing, funnily enough coinciding with the invisible OPK line which clarifies my thought that my hormones are crazy & are Malone my have a "period" midcycle. Hoping the fertility clinic can sort me out, be reading about clomid? Anyone had experienced of it? I know it's prescribed for people with PCOS (I have the ovaries not the syndrome) so hoping it'll be prescribed for me.

How are you doing stars?

RainbowConnections · 02/07/2013 09:22

stars sorry you're going through this. Thinking of you today.

ickle glad you had someone helpful at hospital. Has the bleeding eased? You must be feeling very drained.

Seems trivial, but my hair has been falling out over the last couple of days. Literally by the handful after shower, quite shocking. Hoping its MC related and will stop. Seemed less today.

alyant79 · 02/07/2013 09:22

stars i hope everything goes as smoothly as possible today

alyant79 · 02/07/2013 09:21

I have a question for those of you experienced with temping.
I've been taking my temp every morning for a week now. For the first few days it was very stable. On sunday it dipped a bit, yesterday it was higher than it ever had been before and today it was even higher. Saturday and Sunday I had ewcm. All those signs point towards ovulation on sunday or monday, am I right??
The thing is i've also been using cheapie opks that came with the bbt and up until sunday I had no line at all (except for the control line). sunday and yesterday I had a very very faint line, same intensity both days. According to the packet that should still count as negative, but my body is telling me that i've already ovulated. Perhaps the sticks missed my LH surge?
What do you think? Trust my body and ignore the sticks?? What are your experiences??

Tomkat79 · 02/07/2013 08:56

Thinking of you stars x

fedupofrainydays · 02/07/2013 07:58

icklemssunshine1 · 02/07/2013 06:32

Thank you badhair. I'm a teacher too! So looking forward to the hol. I will have had my first fertility appointment & hoping 6 weeks of stress-free will improve my chances of TTC!

icklemssunshine1 · 02/07/2013 06:29

Stars, I had medical management of my MMC (11+4weeks) and it really wasn't so bad. I had read horror stories online and was dreading it.

I had the pessaries and antibiotics up the bum at around 9:10. I sat on the bed and felt my waters 'pop' at 10:20ish, moved to the commode and passed the baby/sac almost immediately. The placenta followed about 20 minutes later. The nurse checked everything to ensure that the miscarriage was complete.

I took paracetamol in between passing the baby and the placenta, but I only had very mild cramping. Period pains, really. Not the slightest bit like actual labour (that I had experienced).

I had lunch at the hospital and was home and tucked up in bed by 1:30.

Obviously everyone has very different experiences, but they are not all bad, and I sincerely hope that everything goes as well as can be expected for you tomorrow x

alyant79 · 01/07/2013 21:45

Stars I had medical management. It was a bit painful for an hour or two - It was like the first stage of labour, but over much more quickly. The drugs they gave me were good and some studious back rubbing by dh saw me through. That was the build up. The actual miscarriage bit was painless and the cramps stopped pretty much immediately after that. I got a bit stuck on my cervix and had to endure lots of poking and prodding to figure out why the (copious ) bleeding wouldn't stop, but hopefully that won't happen to you. I've also had an erpc to compare to: the bit in hospital for a medical management is more painful but the recovery was much faster. I had no pain at all in the follow up, just a bit weak from blood loss.
So try not to worry. It will be ok.
So sorry that you have to go through it again

Badhairday76 · 01/07/2013 21:44

Stars and Ickle, am so sorry to hear of the shitty times you are both having. Am trying to send you both good vibes and virtual hugs xxx

Over pleased to hear your HFCs levels are coming down. Try not to worry about going back to work. Some people won't know what to say to you (so might say nothing!) and others will probably say something stupid, but well-meaning, but going back to work will probably do you some good. I am a Secondary School Teacher and going back made me feel a lot more 'normal' afterwards and gave me something else to focus on. As for your pains, I do remember having the odd twinge for a few weeks after the op, but nothing major. As you just said (I think - I can't scroll back to check!) it will just be your body recovering from being poked and prodded about so much, I'm sure. It's over six months since I had my laparoscopy and can honestly say that if it wasn't for the scars (and the bloody BFNs!) I wouldn't know I'd had a tube removed. I don't get twinges or anything at all now. I'm not one of those women who can feel ovulation pains, but apparently some women feel this more strongly after surgery. Hope this is helpful!

I am so bored of symptom spotting. I feel rotten, achey and sick but think I'm probably just ill. Am in bed already like an old lady!

StarsInTheNightSky · 01/07/2013 20:55

Thanks everyone. Katatonic not great, but thanks, hospital nurse has just called and said I have to have medical management rather than EPRC due to high blood pressure, so still going in tomorrow but very scared now as I've heard horror stories of medical management and the agonising pain. Am studiously trying to get drunk tonight, which is probably very irresponsible of me.

OveranxiousUnderated · 01/07/2013 20:37

stars Sorry to hear your sad news, sending you a hug. x

I am due back at work on Thursday, so 2 more days of getting myself together before I have to face people I haven't seen for 3 weeks. Feeling very anxious but got to do it at some point. Did a pregnancy test yesterday and the line has faded (slightly) so I'm hoping that my hcg levels are on their way down...and quickly!

Thought my bleeding had stopped yesterday but has come back a little bit today...Grrr...just f&*$ off!!! Never been so desperate for a negative pregnancy test & a period.

Hope everyone is doing okay.

For those who have had ectopics...Seaside (hello, by the way Smile) and badhair - It's two weeks tomorrow since my Op, last night and this morning I was getting really sharp pains in what feels like my 'ovary/tube' area, almost like dull contractions, really painful at the time but they soon go. Did you experience this at all? Thinking it might just be everything adjusting and getting back to normal...

x

Sorry to hear your news stars :(

Alyant, what have you been using to track your OV? I know my cycles are messed up due to my PCOS & the cyst am still OPK to try & see if I am ovulating. So far I've only had a faint line (day 13&14) & today was totally invisible. Not sure if that means I've OV or not?

DearlyDepartedMrsFinch · 01/07/2013 20:14

ickle, it sounds like you have been through the mill. Thank goodness you have seen someone useful though, and now a plan is in hand, and you have explanations and possible solutions for your bleeding\fertility issues. A plan always makes me feel better I find though I may be talking rubbish. Also coming here to offload or rant is a great stress relief.

Oh, stars, you poor thing. So sorry for your loss Sad

miss positivity, you can actually release the hormone to 'ramp up' to ovulation without actually ovulating. Stress can stop ovulation in some cases I think. Then you might have a second LH surge and actually follow through with ovulation. That might explain it?

alyant79 · 01/07/2013 20:00

Oh no stars. Biggest hugs. Take it easy the next few days and look after yourself

missp I waited for the peak smiley. I had 4 days of flashing, so just as well that I waited.
Yesterday I got a very very faint line on my cheapie opk. This morning was temp was a little bit higher, so was kind of expecting a dark line today. But no, it's faint again. Hmm
Not sure if we should just go for it tonight as I'd planned or keep to the every second day plan.

TeaAndANatter · 01/07/2013 19:34

So sorry to hear that. That's really unhappy news. Wishing you the very best for trying again x

StarsInTheNightSky · 01/07/2013 19:26

I should probably add that consultant said fine to start ttc right away.

StarsInTheNightSky · 01/07/2013 19:25

Hi everyone, can I re-join please? I was on the graduates page but MMC diannosed today at 9 + 4, EPRC tomorrow but DH and I want to start ttc right away. Really hoping that one day we will have a live child. Sorry if this sounds at all callous, not meant that way. xx

Misspositivity · 01/07/2013 18:56

saggy glad your friend was found safe and well
dpmf I don't bother with the no drinking though not a big drinker. Lots of studies say alcohol fine in first 4 weeks as does not cross over.
ickles hi sorry to hear you having been having problems but as the guys say referral is another step in right direction.

Well so glad I didnt go for 3 days in a row at last poss opk on day 11 as postive again today day 14 and I seriously woul have collapsed. Flashing smiley. alyant did you go for 3 days from your flashing on or did you wait for peak. Would love to know why I get 2 peaks each month with no temp shift with first one. Think I will give the opk a miss next month.
Good luck to all waiting to poas on Friday.

icklemssunshine1 · 01/07/2013 16:24

Thanks all, feel much better just coming on here & getting it all off my chest. I guess the upside of the cyst is that I actually got to speak to a gynae consultant who I basically off-loaded to. Think the last 4 month's worth of pain & frustration came out in one consult! Must admit she was very good (actually seemed sincere when discussing the MC) & said going to a fertility clinic would be a start on the right path. I also feel better knowing part of the reason I feel so down is because my hormones are haywire at the mo. Hoping some BFPs will rub off on me!
