A new thread for all you lovely, crazy ladies. Here's to lots of BFPs!

OP posts:
DearlyDepartedMrsFinch · 05/07/2013 11:39

Congrats sapphire! Oh, the BFPs are coming in thick and fast now! Who is next?!

The syringe idea is a good one, but not sure positive that DH will go for it. However, the short and sweet, then snoring idea is definitely a plus. God, isn't this making a baby business romantic.

Congratulations Sapphireday. Thats fantastic news! And what a great start to Friday.
Roll on Fertile Friday...

Sapphireday · 05/07/2013 05:29

Hi ladies, I don't often post but I wanted to reinstall some faith in Fertile Friday. Just tested and pregnant!

Hope they're are other people who have successfully BDed this month. My DP and I haven't done the deed since the end of May due to infertility treatment, so I'm looking forward to a bit of lovin' now!

Fingers crossed for anyone else testing today.

RainbowConnections · 04/07/2013 23:06

DDMF last time we had visitors at OV time it was a great relief to have to make it short and sweet and roll over go to sleep straight after. I haven't worked out how to let DH know we can skip all the palaver around the actual deed!

Sal did you mention the syringe to your GP?!

Sal1977 · 04/07/2013 22:53

Can I ask if anyone else has had spotting/pinky CM just before ovulating? I know one of you girls had full on bleeding etc, but its more a bit pink when I wipe and have a dig around as clearly I can't just leave it at that?

Sorry if its a bit late for a gooey question, just can't decide if its good or bad cos clearly it has to be one or the other.

Thanks chickadees!

Moving into the horndog zone of the chart, this month will consist of a shag/syringe combo, preseed, pineapple, OVkits and temping. Bloody hell, seriously, its like a fricking science experiment in our bedroom!!!

Sal1977 · 04/07/2013 22:47

I think the sneaky sneaky ones are the hottest ones!!

Or

Do the syringe.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 04/07/2013 22:15

You could always try a syringe when the guests are visiting Finchy! Wink

DearlyDepartedMrsFinch · 04/07/2013 20:47

Oh Cam, huge congratulations! Tell us all how you did it. Well, not literally of course Grin, but which bits of Project Desperate did you invoke? Tell all.

I am currently on CD4 - booorrring! - and I'm feeling tired at the thought of the shagathon to come (isn't that terrible?!). And we have visitors around OV time next weekend. so it'll have to be quiet antics. Not relishing the thought TBH.

RainbowConnections · 04/07/2013 18:56

KS78 well done on booking manicure, good to treat yourself. But also good to hide out in bed if thats what you need. Sometimes after moping in pyjamas watching crap dvds I've felt much better.
I think the advice most people get is that there is no need to wait to start trying again. Definitely gives me a positive focus. But it may feel right for you and DH to wait.

Katatonic that website sounds great for symptom spotting craziness!

Its a really nervous time Camomille but the odds are very much in your favour.

We DTD just for fun last night. Very novel!

With the great big shagathon that has been happening on this thread it feels like some BFPs must be on the way.

Tomkat79 · 04/07/2013 18:32

Yeah camomile please stay for a bit and keep praying to them fertility gods x

KS78 · 04/07/2013 18:08

CamomileHoneyVanilla I for one would love it if you stick around - give us all some hope!! Tell me more about the pineapple - I read that you should eat the core for about five days after ovulation?? Did you do that while skipping anti-clockwise around a north facing tree or anything? Grin

CamomileHoneyVanilla · 04/07/2013 17:18

hey folks,
Thanks for all the congratulations messages. DH very pleased obviously - its a quieter pleased than last time (from both of us). Its sad not to have the excited naivety that we did last time but I supposed its good in that it'll be less of a shock if I have another mc. I think its probably a couple of days-post honeymoon baby given last weeks bfn but I think that's close enough to count.

I hope you don't mind but I'm going to lurk here for a bit as feel too nervous to join any grad threat/antenatal clubs just yet.

tailspin - we didn't wait till AF. I figured in my heart I knew I was ready emotionally, and my body would know if it was ready physically if you see what I mean. Didn't conceive that month or anything but I found the chance that I might gave a sense of hope which helped. Different for different people though.

Katatonic - I found that website too I think! Very addictive isn't it.

I really hope we get some more bfps soon. Please please please fertility gods.

I'm planning on penning an ode to pineapple when I get a chance!

Katatonic - Is the acupuncture treatment painful in itself? I don't have a phobia of needles, but i can't imagine having so many stuck in my body for 45min-1hr ! How long have you been getting the treatment for? Are you based in London - if so would be interested in a recommendation.

Aylant78 - I'm almost ready to defy the 1 month rule, but DH feels its best to wait and also just to avoid any doubt we thought its better to wait. I've heard the first AF after mc can also be fairly horrible and painful !

Wishing good luck to all of you waiting for BFPs this month !!

If you and your dh feel ready for it, get back on the horse! I am and it's helped given me something positive to focus on.

Trinpy · 04/07/2013 15:09

ks78 - know exactly how you feel. It sets you back a bit but it will get easier.

Hi tailspin I'm in a similar position to you, mc at 5+3, 2 weeks ago. My doctor said it's physically fine to start ttc again straight away. It's more down to when you feel emotionally ready. The only reason some doctors tell women to wait until first af is it makes it easier for them to date the pregnancy before the first scan. But do what feels best for you.
I was also told that cycles after a mc are like cycles after any pregnancy, im that some people go straight back to normal while others take a bit longer.

KS78 · 04/07/2013 14:54

Ok! Fridge cleaned, hair washed and pedicure booked for Wednesday! Royal bee pollen jelly vitamin things arrived - along with a beautiful bunch of flowers from a friend at work. Bring it on! Did many of you wait till first AF before trying again? We are going on holiday next week - am hoping I will ovulate while we are away and was planning to get straight back on the horse so to speak....

alyant79 · 04/07/2013 13:38

hi triplespin. absolutely no need to wait for first AF especially with such an early mc and negative pg test.
But you have to do what feels best for you, and if that's waiting for first AF, then wait.

ks78 you're still very much in the hormone crash period, and totally entitled to stay in bed all day if you like! As saggy said, it does get easier. My mmc was diagnosed in feb too, and now the periods of sadness are much fewer and further apart - mostly they come when my motherf*ucker AF turns up yet again.
So I guess that fact that I'm still here isn't much of a ray of hope, but I've come to terms with it a lot more

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 04/07/2013 12:52

KS78 these are our buddies and we know that they've been through the same crap. Each person on this thread who gets PG again is a ray of hope. In RL I always feel that they are just rubbing my nose in it.
The misery does lift. My MC was at the beginning of February, and even last month I was having days of total depression when I didn't get dressed. Touch wood, it hasn't happened since, but AF is soon due, so Im bracing myself. The days of depression are getting further apart though which is definitely a blessing.

KS78 · 04/07/2013 12:12

Yey - positivity-def need some more! Had my erpc on the same day as my niece was born - so had no positivity left thank you! DH has just popped home - told me to get dressed. Have had a shower and now am going to clean my fridge....Any more success stories out there? Or things to try? Why is I get really excited when someone on here gets BFP but in RL it kills me??

Can I join too? MC at 5+3 wks, 2.5 weeks ago. Had bleeding at home over the weekend and by the time I went to EPU for a scan, my pregnancy test was negative and no sac was visible either i.e. a complete miscarriage. Bleeding stopped a week after and now I am anxiously waiting for AF to arrive so that we can start trying again. I have come across several posts where they have not waited for AF, but we thought its best not to go against the doctor's advice (which was to wait for AF to arrive before trying again). Already testing with OPKs but no sign of ovulation so far (yes I'm being impatient to be checking already!).
We conceived on the second cycle. So I'm hoping that we don't have to wait too long to get BFP but googling suggests that a lot of people's cycle's do go haywire after mc. I hope that is not the case.

I'm also thinking of investigating acupuncture / chinese herbal medicines. It may seem that we don't have trouble getting pregnant, but I would really like to do all that is possible to ensure a smooth pregnancy next time. Has anyone looked into any of the above - and know of any success stories?

KS78 · 04/07/2013 09:54

Oh dear - anyone got any positivity I can borrow?? Feeling awful this morning - best friend rang me last night to tell she is pregnant - made it much worse by being very apologetic and begging me not to hate her. Don't even want to get up this morning - am convinced I will never ovulate again.
