A new thread for all you lovely, crazy ladies. Here's to lots of BFPs!

Congrats sapphire, jbrd, cam!!! Amazing news! (Although a small sardine for cam too, made smaller because I loved the real time updates on your BFP and the fact that you waited to ask for permission before poas on a Thursday!!) So lovely to have some good news and keeping my fingers crossed tightly for all three of you.

Went to my first acupuncture appt on Thursday which was really good - in part because it was a chance to talk to someone who's not at all involved in my life about how I'm feeling etc, and in the process I realised quite how wound up I am by, well, everything - and came out at the end feeling resolved to make some time for myself to stop and be still and just BE rather than constantly rushing around doing things every second of the day. And the treatment itself - acupuncture and shiatsu massage - left me feeling very chilled out and I went straight home afterwards and went to bed with a cup of camomile tea and my book, about an hour earlier than usual. So all in all a success in terms of making me feel better - going back every week for the next few weeks, and the plan is to see if she can make my cycles shorter and more regular. emki, if you're lurking, thank you so much for the tip - the acupuncture lady is lovely!

Sorry to see all the newbies and alice so sad for you that you're back here. But this is a lovely thread and it's cheered me so much on this crazy ttc mission.

So this month's project desperate for me includes: acupuncture, drinking pink grapefruit juice, using conceive plus and temping...and sex every other day based on everyone's doctors' recommendations!!

(PS. AF arrived last Sunday - so much for my 'symptoms' - had a horribly emotional weepy day - but have picked myself up again now.)

Enjoy the sunshine today ladies! And sorry for mammoth post, that's what happens when I haven't been on for ages! X

Congratulations JBrd great news.
Thanks MissP that's good to know. Still bleeding bright red today, Dr did warn that it would bleed after he took a swab but I didn't expect it to go on as long. In my last pregnancy I bled every week from 6 to 12 but no one actually thought to check for cervical erosion. I have goggled a local fertility acupuncture place so will give them a call on Monday.

BlackberryandNettle · 06/07/2013 17:22

Hi everyone,
Not been on for a couple of weeks but congrats to guff, sapphire and Jbrd and anyone else I've missed. Fingers crossed for you missmakes stuff.
Tested this morning (13dpo I was guessing) as too late for work yesterday and BFN despite high hopes, then literally 2 mins later felt crampy and bloody AF when wiped!
This is not v positive but why bfn??!! Working back if this is 14dpo we'd have have doen the deed 3,1 days before and day of ov. Anyway moan over, went for a long run and have taken vits today ready for July. We are away for 3 wknds this month, all nice things so at least I can have wine :-)

triplespin · 06/07/2013 16:53

Congratulations Jbrd !!

badhairday there is still a chance, with my first pregnancy I had BFP 2 days post AF date and with this mc BFP was 4 days before AF due !!

I accidentally threw away the holder for my clearblue digital ovpk - so now I have plenty of sticks but no holder to test. CM check seems to suggest that I may be ovulating or close to it. So now I've been googling about TTC before first AF, which is giving me mixed info. I do remember the doctor saying after the scan that its good to wait so that the lining of the uterus can shed one more time. So i'm going into my paranoid mode now.

Badhairday76 · 06/07/2013 13:44

Oops - does make me think its a miracle anybody ever gets born sometimes.

Hope all you lovely ladies are enjoying the sunshine!! X

Badhairday76 · 06/07/2013 13:43

Congratulations Jbrd - fabulous news!

Misspositivity - thanks for the kind words. I feel a bit better today. Tested again and got a BFN again as expected so am going to treat myself to a few cold glasses of wine this eve. F*ck it - I'll just have to go for it this month. At least I can drink at all the end of term piss ups, eh?

Seaside - I know what you mean about being scared your body might mess up again. It d

JBrd · 06/07/2013 11:06

Hi all, I've not been on here much lately, as it's been manic, but have been reading all your heartbreaking stories.

Like Sapphire, I want to contribute re-installing faith in the Fertile Friday - I tested yesterday and got a BFP Smile I really didn't expect this, I had written this month off already. But then my temp just kept staying up, in spite of getting later and later in my cycle.

I'm going from feeling giddy to petrified/numb. Third time lucky? I really really hope so... Have to resist the temptation of keeping my calendar empty around the 8 week mark Sad But just realised that's when my mum is coming to visit... Not sure if that's a good or bad thing!

missmakesstuff · 06/07/2013 08:52

Hi to everyone and welcome to the newbies, sorry you find yourselves here. Great news on this thread recently, I haven't posted in a while as have had a manic week at work.
Crazy alert thought, haven't said this to anyone in RL yet but even though we only DTD 4-5 days before ovulation, I have a feeling I'm pregnant, I can't shake it. Definitely crazy, as the chances are very slim, we meant it that way.as dh still doesn't have a new job and we decided not to try for a while till he got something....
I had very sharp poking pains in one ovary area last week, about 8dpo, then from the last 3 days or so have felt sick in the mornings. Tingly boobs also, along with odd feelings in my abdomen.

Someone hit me with a fish though cause stupidly I used an opk as the only sticks I have in the house and it showed the faintest of lines for pos opk, which is what happened last.time I was pregnant. Aunt flo due on tues or poss weds, so we shall see....
Dh will be alternately happy and worried I think, as is really fed up with the work situation. We really thought we were safe!
Right, off to feel a bit sick again, I did however drink last night, living in denial...I am going to feel very silly when AF arrives aren't I? This is what TTC does, sends usually rational people into madness! All symptoms can be explaine by other things of course, but I kind of feel like it might be the law of sod working against.me...or for me......

Misspositivity · 05/07/2013 22:51

Hey nearly. I have bled all three pregnancies Apparantly acu has some great results in stopping spotting etc. it was an erosion in my first pregnancy and I totally understand how scary it is. I bled so heavily the nurse told me it was game over and scan showed a bouncing baby. My bleeding stopped at about 14 weeks. Ask them to keep scanning you each week for re assurance. Natural to be nervous be it's good news it's an erosion.

nearlyreadytopop · 05/07/2013 22:35

congratulations sapphire
missp can I ask how the accupunture has helped with bleeding? I'm now 7 weeks (and still to afraid to move to the graduates thread). I had some red bleeding yesterday and thought it was all over. I had a checkup today at epc and apparently everything looks fine baby wise. Turns out I have some cervical erosion and thats where the fresh blood is coming from. im booked in for another scan next week. Im glad to know where its coming from but its still making me very nervousSad

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 05/07/2013 22:21

Congratulations to Sapphire. I was beginning to think fertile Friday was all washed up! Grin

Misspositivity · 05/07/2013 21:14

badhair. Could be still too early. Really depends when you ovulated and implanted. Your still in with a chance until the evil AF makes an appearance. Fingers crossed. Sorry your feeling down. The due date will be a sad day for us all. It's hard to be positive all the time isn't it?
There is nothing to stop you looking into other ways and means and keep TTC. Big hugs.

Badhairday76 · 05/07/2013 21:00

Seaside - your friend lost both tubes? How horrific. Did she have her three children through IVF? Am starting to think we ought to look into it - sigh. Am feeling miserable this month and that I'll never be able to have more children. The baby I lost through the ectopic would have been due st the end of this month so am feeling miserable tonight.

Misspositivity - it was me asking how soon people got their BFPs - thanks for responding. I am stupidly clinging to hope that I've just tested too early. AF due on Sunday but surely if I was preggo a test would have picked it up by now. Not even a sniff of a line. Sigh.....

Misspositivity · 05/07/2013 18:47

katatonic. Love your link. I was addicted to it last month. Going to try not to symptom spot This month.

On acunpuncture. I love it. Had it weekly after mc now on monthly a week before ovulation. Once I get BFP then will go weekly to try and stop bleeding in pregnancy which I am tortured with.

Someone was asking what day they got BFP. With my only successful preg I did get BFP until day 32 of 28 day cycle from due date ovulated about day 16. With 2 mc got poss results about 11-12 dpo for both. Go figures!!!

alyant. How's 2ww going. You are right about the every other day BD. I told a obs gynae consultant I was doing SMEP and she told me there was no need calm down and i am obviously a nympho. ha ha. Also told me to throw opk in bin as she knows i am ovulating and should only use them if question mark over it as false positives are common as i know. So next month I am temping only as I didn't tell her I was doing that.
emki if your lurking About hope your doing ok.
Congrats to the BFP today.

SeasideLily · 05/07/2013 18:22

badhair - also yes, having one tube sucks. Like many are saying, it takes some of the prospective excitement of getting pg again away for me, because i've always got that nagging question: 'is my body going to try and kill me again? Am i going to lose the other tube and things get really tricky?' Although there's always hope: my friend lost both tubes and now has a three y.o and twins...

SeasideLily · 05/07/2013 16:19

Thanks rainbows, it certainly makes me less hopeful now, but in a way that's no bad thing as i'm less inclined to symptom spot, though still managed to feel that this might be my month.

Badhair, sorry i'm in Edinburgh, not terribly helpful. It has help relieve tension i think triplespin, although perhaps part of that is that each month brings another 'symptom' i need to add to the 'ignore' list: boobs, hungry, lightheaded, feeling sick...as they've all been proved wrong.

triplespin · 05/07/2013 15:34

Ooh lots of support for starting straight away - just checked if i'm ov, but no sign so far (3 wks post mc - sigh...).
seaside 14/15 sounds like an amazing record. I have heard that if nothing else, acupuncture at least helps to relieve the stress and I know what you mean. I'm already driving myself nuts - waiting for any sign of ovulation or AF.
katatonic I would prefer something in Central London, simply because I can go after work or even during lunch time. I hope it doesn't make me too lightheaded though !

Sorry Seaside and Badhairday. Hope you have a nice weekend in the sun. I know little about getting pregnant after ectopic but it sounds awful to have an extra layer of worry. (Seaside - i think you put a but more effort into your A-levels than i did!)

Kat does sound a bit early. I tested 5dpo last time, hard to wait isn't it.

Congratulations to sapphire

Why does everyone keep going on about pineapples on this thread? Is this something I should know about?

Badhairday76 · 05/07/2013 12:32

Thanks Seaside - it's shit having one tube, isn't it? Am interested in your Accupuncture lady. Are you in London?

SeasideLily · 05/07/2013 12:24

I'll join you in that BFN Badhair - and it's a definite from me, as AF stopped by half an hour after testing. Hey ho, it's reasonably 'good' timing as I have a fun long weekend planned, that will be all the more fun with a bottle glass of wine or two. I've decided waiting to POAS is like waiting for A Level results every month - we've done all the hard work, there's nothing more we can do to change the outcome except wait. But this is one exam I'm pretty confident I'll fail now I've only got the one tube.

Super happy for you though Sapphire!

Triplespin I've been having acupuncture for 3 months now - I went mostly to try and sort my head out, I was so stressed and going crazy with it all when we started TTC again after the ectopic. She advised me a give it a break for 2 months to sort my periods out, and this is the first month TTC again - I do feel much better. Not up the duff yet, but think I ovulated from the wrong side this month. It's been worth it to calm me down, I think, and she has a stupendous track record. 14 of the last 15 of her fertility patients are now knocked up, some of whom have had major problems - failed IVF, ectopics, miscarriages, years of trying etc. So I have high hopes. She better deliver, it's £45 a time and I go twice a month! Won't be able to afford a kid at the end of it all!

Badhairday76 · 05/07/2013 11:56

Congrats to Sapphire and the other ladies who've got BFPs.

I POAS this morning feeling very excited but got a BFN. Boooooooo. Am feeling v disappointed because have convinced myself of symptoms this month. AF not due until Sun/Mon so might have a minuscule chance but not holding out much hope now. Can I ask how soon you ladies got your BFPs? The other three times I got pregnant, I tested once I was at least a week late....
