Kitty you can use different methods to stick the sweets on depending on which sweets are being used - melted chocolate, icing sugar, cocktail sticks, cool glue gun. As I'm using wrapped sweets I'm using double sided glue dots. Just been to Hobbycraft to stock up - love it in there!! Will let you know how the sweet tree turns out!

BlindKitty · 15/06/2013 09:54

I really should get up too. I don't have any plans but housework Sad. Did have an engagement party but I e canceled as too scared to drive so far on the motorway and I'll be surrounded by babies!

MrsB00Mbastic · 15/06/2013 09:42

Haha Kitty jealous of a beer gut! Good effort! Grin The snake was a ref to Thunder's jelly snakes but anyway, tell more about the quaffing of snake blood!! Shock

Thunder am amazoning as we speak...

Hi Happy! What's a sweet tree? And can I have one for my garden?

Right, got to get the house tidied, pick sister up from the station and get ready to go boogie the night away in a wedding marquee... (cue scything rain all day no doubt!)

BlindKitty · 15/06/2013 09:39

happy that looks fab! How do you get the chocolate to stick to it? X

BlindKitty · 15/06/2013 08:44

thunder well you got a free shot in this bar of one of two spirits. One had a dead snake in it (which I obviously refused) and the other looked like it had black currant cordial in it, so I chose the latter. Ended up having several. It was the next day when the bar maid said 'you want the snakes blood one again?' Obviously I was horrified and then I had another because it was free

happylass · 15/06/2013 08:41

Lol at Kitty's beer belly envy Grin.
Yes Thunder was good to hear some RL experiences about TTc but didn't actually mention that we were trying as MIL was sat right next to me and lovely as she is we'd never hear the end of it if she found out!
This is a sweet tree

Thundercatsarego · 15/06/2013 08:32

Grin kitty! We'll be jealous of beer guts next!

BlindKitty · 15/06/2013 08:23

Oh and went to see man of steel last night - caught sight of a massive bump about to walk past me, immediately making me think ffs I can't even escape in the cinema...only to realise it was a man's beer belly haha Grin

Thundercatsarego · 15/06/2013 08:14

boom I would definitely recommend the book - I just couldn't put it down until it was finished and then when I was awake at 4am I went onto amazon and bought another one of hers. Very different topic this time but I really like how she writes.

blind erm... Snake blood?!.. Need more information! Hope you're now cuddling that cat? Did you see that Horizon documentary on the secret lives of cats? (Just wrote cars by mistake- definitely not so interesting!)

Hi happy, it sounds great that you found some other prople in RL to talk about fertility to. I dont think any of my friends really understand judging by some of their stupid comments

What's a sweet tree?

BlindKitty · 15/06/2013 07:45

thunder she's crying outside my bedroom door atm wanting to come in and give me cuddles more like cupboard love Looking after my friend's cat atm, he's a real sweetie but wouldn't come in yesterday morning so spent all day in the rain, silly pussy! How's yours? X

BlindKitty · 15/06/2013 07:42

happy what's a sweet tree? X

BlindKitty · 15/06/2013 07:41

boom detox 'snake'??? Is that some kind of euphemism for oral sex??? You know you can't get prevgers like that don't you haha? Speaking of 'snake' drinks though, I did (unknowingly) drink snakes blood once in Thailand (why am I admitted this???).

barking sorry I missed your birthday yesterday? Did you have a fab time? What did dh get you? X

Aquarius, sounds like ovulation to me! It won't be very accurate but you could always try temping from now just to see if you see a rise? You might have already ov'd though so won't necessarily see it.

Sorry to feel sorry for myself but the lists always make me sad now as it always points out I'm the longest ttc, apart from those who have tragically had a mc Sad

happylass · 15/06/2013 06:44

Morning all. DP woke me at 5.30 when he got up to watch the rugby cos he couldn't possibly use Sky+ and watch it later grrr and I haven't been able to get back to sleep so am catching up on recent happenings here. Spent all yesterday at DPs grandad's funeral. His cousin who has a 3 month old after IVF plus another cousins wife who's been TTC for 2-3 years were there so spent ages chatting to them about their experiences. Nice to know there are other people with issues but can't even escape thinking about TTC at a funeral!!
Sorry to hear about DPs grandma Barking Flowers
Very Envy of all you Berries who are heading off on hols. Another 7 weeks before ours.
Cd12 here and no temp rise despite copious amounts of EWCM on CDs 9 and 10 Sad. Wondering if its gonna be a repeat of last month where I get all the signs around cd11 but nothing happens temp wise until cd17 Hmm
Planning on attempting a sweet tree later for my dad then got my best mate and her 6 and 3 yo DDs coming to visit so think I'm in for a hectic one! Have a lovely day all!

MrsB00Mbastic · 14/06/2013 23:58

I've not read it thunder but I did read one called The Snow Child the other day, based on old European/Russian fairy tales about an old childless couple making a child out of snow. It also went into infertility/loss and childlessness although not in analytical depth. I liked it, it was kind of whimsical and otherworldly - set in Alaska I think. I'll have to buy the one you're talking about - sure I saw it in a bookshop the other day but passed over it, now I'll have to go back secret yays, I love books

Hi Aquarius yep brand new shiny cycle here, only on day 8 so still full of some of barking's yellow brick positivity! Hope all the signs are right and it was ovulation today for you Smile

Right, to bed. This has been a long long day and tomorrow I've got a wedding to go to and I have nothing organised! Panic stations!

Going to curl up under the duvet and think positive thoughts until I fall asleep. Can we have a Futon of Fertility? Grin xx

Gillster · 14/06/2013 21:13

It seems like ovulation to me Aquarius. I supposes there's always a chance that your body is getting ready for ovulation but doesn't actually do it. Fairly unlikely though but the blood test is the proof I guess.

Aquarius1 · 14/06/2013 20:47

Hello ladyberries have been a bit absent with work & hols & trains... Haven't managed to catch up with all the chat but have spotted that boom finally reached the end of her cycle - whoop- and foody is making everyone jealous by going on a far flung holiday - well deserved no doubt.

I've a question about cm- had a lot of it yesterday &it was v liquid and whitish. Then today a bit of ewcm and a smiley face on ov test & lots of lower abdo pain/ bloating / wind. Cd 16. After being told I hadn't ovulated by cd20 last month I don't want to get too hopeful this month but it does sound like ovulation doesn't it? Anyone agree?

Am Waiting for another cd21 blood test and FC referral but secretly hoping for bfp before we get there - hello fellow positivity crew Smile

For the list: Aquarius, 32, ttc 14/15mths, no hint if bfp yet, suspected endo, previous depo user, hoping for dog if not baby

Bunnygirlie · 14/06/2013 18:37

Happy birthdaybarking sorry to hear about granny in lawSad

Ooh foody you are off to Australia?!? How exciting!!!

Where you from then sid?

Def have some birthday wine barking after all you won't be able to drink much soon Wink

Thundercatsarego · 14/06/2013 17:07

barking that sounds like a lovely day Smile

LOVE the positivity! And why not- it must be our turn berries?!

Maybe it should be mrsboomivator actually?

Has anyone read Watch Over Me by Daniela Sacerdoti? I randomly bought it and then was shocked by the first page being about a woman's pain at having trouble conceiving and then miscarrying. I am a little way in now and I have to say I'm absolutley hooked. Just wondered if anyone else has read it or had any thoughts.

barkingtreefrog · 14/06/2013 14:46

thunder I'm dogsitting my mate's dog (little sprocker, gorgeous, but a little bit lively...) so they're currently fighting over a blanket while I try and get our trip to California properly organised, planned out and accommodation booked.... Went for a walk with the two dogs earlier, going for a run tomorrow morning followed by a nice breakfast, then round to a mate's for a bbq then it's a 40th birthday party of a friend of DP's in the evening. Going to see the family on Sunday. Should be a good weekend Smile.

foody well, to Wine or not to Wine, that is the question... Given I'm definitely due my BFP this cycle, and I'm now 7 dpo, I really can't decide. Can you tell I'm starting to believe this might be possible myself after all this positive thinking? Tipping over into crazy lady territory

sid can you link to your chart so we can see how much of a spike you're talking about? My cycle has been fairly spiky for me this time but I can still see a clear enough coverline take a look I didn't temp when I was in hospital post HSG then visiting DP's Granny in hospital (CD8-10), and I skipped Tuesday as I woke up at 5am and never got back to sleep so it seemed pointless to temp at 7am!

OP posts:
MrsB00Mbastic · 14/06/2013 11:34

Barking clearly I left you off the list on purpose Hmm because you're getting a birthday BFP so don't need to be on it! Sorry to hear about DP's grandma, very sad news.

Thunder ta . I'll take Mrboomivator, now where did I put my neon spandex?

Bunny that sounds like a lovely weekend! I'm going to an evening wedding do in the village I grew up in so all my childhood friends will be there, looking forward to it Grin although the antisocial DH is grumbling already haha. He wants to take the dog...

Thundercatsarego · 14/06/2013 11:29

Hey sid good work on the lunchtime action! Hats off to you and your man for that.

I couldn't believe that nurse's comment either? SO out of order. I think you need to try and block it out now yeah yeah easier said than done eh

Where are you from?

SidneyBristow · 14/06/2013 11:08

Oh barking Happy Birthday to you Thanks and really sorry about DH's grandma. I'm glad you were able to see her.

Gil ooo Cornwall! Lovely! Bunny food festival, how fun! We missed the one down our way a few weeks ago.

Hi Thunder! Did the break help? Hi Boodle, how's the new house? Everyone else feeling alright?

Messed up temp-taking this morning, which is ironic bc I had what I believe was EWCM yesterday, so DH raced home at lunchtime to see to things Smile CBFM still shows High, temp which is prob wrong was high, and FFriend 'details' suggest that temp spikes might indicate anovulation (or just temping at diff times, which I definitely do). How many cycles did it take you lot to be put at ease by temping?

Nurse's idiotic is haunting me, which is dumb on my part. I've never had intimacy issues and it's stupid to let a stranger's awkward comment make me wonder if I'm not the sexpot I've always thought I was Grin She couldn't have known we'd been TTC for nearly a year and that I already have enough worries over that issue w/o adding more. that being said, if I were more forthright, I'd have complained. From what I can tell, the English are much more comfortable asserting themselves (obv in an appropriate way) than I've ever been. I admire that and hopefully will learn how in time.
