Ooh scarlett you know we all love a good symptom-spot! 7 days could well be the start of implantation, so you never know Grin Well done on getting acu sorted, I hope it goes well and leaves you feeling fabulous and relaxed. As my DM constantly tries to drum into me, expect the worst and hope for the best. Brooking for you x

cups I think your bloodwork expiry is a great line to try with the clinic. I really hope something comes of it so that you don't have to go through a third refusal. And def speak to your former colleagues. As someone else said, it's not like they can put you to the top of the list so no wrong-doing by having a word.

beedle Have you had your bloods done yet? Do you know your protocol yet or will it be a few days before the results come back?

kitty that's great about your friend's hairdresser, it's lovely to know some people can get there without help after so long.

In preparation for next cycle's ICSI, I decided to stock up on supermarket tests so that I could test my trigger out without having to resort to my ever-increasingly faulty (in the worst possible way) ICs. The lady on the checkout had raised an eyebrow when she put the third twin-pack through the till, both eyebrows when she put the fourth through, and couldn't shut her mouth when the fifth one came down the conveyor belt towards her Grin Grin Grin

My stash of tests now looks something like:

  • approx 20ish x ICs
  • 10 x Morrisons Own pink dye tests
  • 6 x FRER
  • 4 x Superdrug Own pink dye tests
  • 1 x Clear Blue 'Plus' type test
  • 1 x Clear Blue Digital

Do you think I have enough yet? Confused

By the way, I am in awe of the clinic that sent out the schedule as a spreadsheet complete with colours! There was another spreadsheet reference as well, I remember reading about it on my phone but couldn't respond straight away and it slipped my mind Blush All vair impressive!

ScarlettInSpace · 16/05/2013 11:57

Morning brookers, quick phone post from work loos to say wooooooohoooooooo sweetie and your potential to firm a family 5aside football team this year Grin

Mixed update from Scarlett HQ, have spent must of the week [TMI coning up] feeling like I need a poo all the time even when I don't Confused funny tight feeling in my tummy probably trapped wind and still have a headache since Saturday not drinking enough water probably also very very tired, had an afternoon nap on Tuesday lazy bastid but at 7 days past IUI I am pretty certain these are all psychosomatic and I don't feel like this has worked.

Implantation Acu this eve so am outwardly keeping the faith but expecting a very BFN next week brookers x

BlindKitty · 16/05/2013 03:03

maybe I know! Can't believe she'd not asked for help!!!

Solars that is great news! So glad the blood results were ok.

Well I've read all the paperwork and been on fertility friends and they can refuse you 3 times. However it also says that your baseline scans and bloods should be no more than 6 months old. Next month it will be 6 months since I had them done so I'm planning on pushing that point next time I request.

Well it was my leaving do tonight so I had no choice but to stop wallowing and go out. It was a lovely evening, my work friends are so nice. I think everyone was a bit upset that I didn't cry but little did they know I'd spent most of the afternoon in tears so I felt emotionally dead inside Sad

Thanks for all the support today, it's been the worst I've felt in ages. God knows what I'd do without you lot Thanks

GenericDietCola · 15/05/2013 21:18

Squeeeeeeze! Back at ya, maybe!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 15/05/2013 20:10

Solars that's fantastic news!! How exciting! Am looking forward to hearing all about it tomorrow.

Cups lovely, how are you feeling now? I agree, I think speaking to your old colleagues may help. I hope MrCups is looking after you tonight x

Kitty 4 years, wow. Well done her, she must be over the moon!

Beedlea boo to the spots. I hate having a spot. But I always think you are the only one that notices it!

GenericDietCola · 15/05/2013 18:18

Hello brookers! Just marking place for all the BFPs on the new thread.

So excited for the assisted brookers and still certain there will be at least one ironic BFP...

Solars · 15/05/2013 17:10

Beedle the nurse said they will decide my protocol after tmrws bloods and scan, I think because my fsh had gone down from my previous cycle that they may want to down reg me a little first so won't know for sure until tmrw. Do you feel like a teenager with the spots? :) I think you've done really well being symptom free, when is your scan again?

Cups I've just thought is it possible to speak to your consultant and just confirm about their treatment refusal policy as you seemed so sure about them having to take you on the 3rd attempt.

BlindKitty · 15/05/2013 17:04

cups I think I always expect something to go wrong with fertility appointments, don't mean to n so negative but at least I'm pleasantly surprised when they're ok. Imagine I won't be getting iui next month

beedles I really hope you're right x

In other people's news, my friends hairdresser is heavily pregnant and it apparantly took 4 years for get to concieve. She didn't even get any help in the end! She just says to keep persevering!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 15/05/2013 16:45

Excellent news solars so might you be starting straight away with the stabbing?

Yes, AF popped by for a short visit last week. Oh and I might have found a side -effect! I'm very spotty around my jaw and chest. But as no-one has run away screaming after looking at me I don't think its too noticeable :o

cups I don't think there's anything wrong with contacting your old colleagues. Its not like they can bump you up to the top of the list.

Solars · 15/05/2013 16:31

Oh no Cups I feel so upset on your behalf. I would definitely complain about your call yesterday with that nurse? Plus I don't think there's any harm in speaking to your ex colleagues about your experience so far with the clinic. I can't believe they can refuse you 3 times though, does that mean they will definitely take you on at the fourth attempt?

Sweetie you will cope fantastically well with however many you have!

Geek you will be a lovely mum. Errrrmmm by the way DH has been known to throw balls at babies, he claims that it helps with their hand eye coordination, it is gently rolling the ball I hasten to add! So there'll be lots of ball throwing in our household as DH is a big cricket fan and would want our offspring to be international sports stars Hmm

Maybe I have just had the call from the clinic and I'm pleased to say I am good to go. Fsh was down to 7.2 or did she say 7.8? Anyway, I'm in again early for more bloods, a scan and teaching session after which they will confirm my protocol.

Beedle how are you doing? Have you had your withdrawal bleed yet?

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 15/05/2013 15:19

Oh crap cups that's just rotten. No wonder you were upset, who wouldn't have been? I think it will do the clinic good to have to deal with some of the emotional fallout of their processes. How awful that they can refuse you three times, too. That's just beyond. I really hope the nurse you spoke to is able to do something about getting you booked into a separate stab-training session, regardless of the timing. That way you will only need the dildocam appointment which takes far less time and surely they will be able to squeeze you in for that. More (((hugs))) and Wine, and a plateful of Biscuit for the clinic.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 15/05/2013 15:16

She said they have had to reduce the number of appointments as they don't have the staff to cover the teach sessions. I think it's just an excuse to be honest. Some of my old colleagues work there but I feel uncomfortable contacting them over this. It's not professional. I don't expect any special treatment or fast tracking but maybe I should speak to some of them so they can see how frustrating the system is from the patients point of view.

Thanks for all the support, I've finally stopped crying. I feel bad as I called DH in tears at work so now he's worried about me.

cartoontrickster · 15/05/2013 15:09

cups that's shit. I'm not suprised you got upset. nothing to be embarrassed about. ummm here Wine

BeedlesPineNeedles · 15/05/2013 15:04

Oh cups I'm sorry you have to wait again. I could understand if they were too busy to fit you in for EC/ET (that's why I'm DRing 3 weeks as they were already full for EC the week before I'll be having it IYSWIM). But surely as you're a nurse thye can book you in a bit earlier than normal for your teaching session, and have it this month even if you don't start stabbing till next month.
And how long does it take? My appointment on Monday is for a dildocam and stabbing lesson :o and its only 1 hour. How can they not have enough nurses for those appointments? I do hope they get you sorted out soon (hugs)

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 15/05/2013 14:46

That's the worst part, the nurse said on the phone they can refuse treatment 3 times. So we could still get turned down next month. I obviously misunderstood the consultant. She says its because of the teach appointments that they are struggling to fit people in not due to booking people in for EC/ET. Talk about ironic, I don't even really need a bloody teach appointment. I already know how to give injections. She said everyone has to go to the teach appointments even if your a doctor or a nurse. I cried on the phone to her, so embarrassed. She said she will put a note on seeing if there is anyway I can be squeezed in next month but I doubt that will make any difference.

cartoontrickster · 15/05/2013 14:41

cups how gutting. I don't really know how these things work. do you know why they've said no? can you complain?
sorry if I'm being nosy.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 15/05/2013 14:37

Oh Cups I'm so sorry. They are such arses. But as Geek says, next month is THE month. And I too would complain

ControlGeek · 15/05/2013 14:30

Oh cup huuuuuge hugs and lots of Wine to you. Bloody clinic. I thought mine were a bit shoddy but yours takes the biscuit. On the positive side, it doesn't matter how 'unusually busy' they are next month, they have to take you no matter what. I definitely think a complaint is in order though. They seem to have forgotten they are dealing with human beings. (((more hugs)))

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 15/05/2013 14:25

Well I've finally had the phone call back to say we can't have the treatment this cycle. I'm so upset, I don't think the 3 day wait has helped. I'm so sick of waiting.

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 15/05/2013 14:16

There are other clinics but they are private. I know people have care transferred but I think they still end up waiting a far bit of time at the other clinics. From looking on fertility friends it looks unusual to wait this long to find out about being accepted. Every time they have called I've been told they are having an unusually busy time. I just want to know if we are going to be turned down so I can come to terms with it and get on with another natural cycle. I've not stopped looking at my phone for the past 3 days!

NoMaybeAboutIt · 15/05/2013 14:05

Oh Geek you are more than cut out to be a mum now. Of this I am sure.

4 babies Sweetie Shock

Solars any news on the results yet?

Cups we are NHS funded too, and we have had no problems. Is there another clinic nearby?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 15/05/2013 14:00

Geek Grin I have an image of you playing fetch with a toddler! It's not a bad idea as it might tire them out Grin

I'm NHS so I guess what do I expect?! I'm sure if we were paying it would be a different story. The clinic seems to work very different to others from what I've read. I suppose I've not waited long so far really, I'm mean I was only referred in November. The nurse I spoke to today was at least polite, she listened to me and went to check that my notes are there waiting to be dealt with. I was worried I had been forgotten but she assured me they are at the top of the pile. I just don't understand how it can take so long to decide. I think it is possible to transfer funding over to a private clinic if you are not happy with this clinic. I think we have to do the first cycle here though.

ControlGeek · 15/05/2013 13:28

solars your BFP is now guaranteed - sweetie started the last thread and got her BFP. Hopefully this is the start of a new trend.

cups that's just awful. I have no idea how clinics are set up but is there the equivalent of a practice manager or a duty manager that you can complain to? That is a horrible, insensitive way of dealing with their customers. Are you happy with your care there in other respects? I can't remember if this is NHS funded or private, sorry.

sweetie I'd missed the Mary & Joseph comment, that is utterly hilarious! Do it Grin
