BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 12:06

little did you only do 1 test to confirm your pregnancy? Shock

TheLittleFriend · 27/05/2013 11:54

Hi Brookers

Wow, loads of excitement in here. Brooking like billio that the bfps come soon for you all Smile

I've found 11 cbfm test sticks in the cupboard, pm me if you want them.

There is also a frer hpt, the other one from the pack was used on the fabled tripe whammy Friday to produce a super strong and early bfp, so it might be lucky! Pm me if you want it

Enjoy the bank holiday everyone Grin x

Solars · 27/05/2013 11:44

Solars · 27/05/2013 11:43

Having said all that I'm pretty sure I was told the day before ET what time to come in on my NHS round.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 27/05/2013 11:38

Wow brookers, it's all go go go in here!

Just a quick post and run from me as we have lots to sort before Italy tomorrow, just wanted to say I'm brooking for you all.

here I'd the link for the cocktails. Hope it works.

Ooh, and Geek it's not an NHS thing as for the bloods. My clinic gives me scans and bloods every other day when I start stimming. Crazy about the differences!

I'm going to say chow belle now, and brook for you from Italy x

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 11:38

I suppose its good that I already know it will be a day 2 transfer in the afternoon. I imagine they'll decide the time when they do EC. Hopefully they'll write it down so I don't have to remember it after all those drugs they're going to give me :o

ControlGeek · 27/05/2013 11:36

Shock solars one hour!!! It takes me longer than that to get to the clinic from work! I know the timing of these things can't be helped, but surely these clinics realise that we can't just be sat at home for the entire time. And to then be running two hours late...

Ooh beedle def cycle buddies, day 3 in my nice, sunny golden egg growing house here. I was so sure, the way my last cycle seemed to be going, that I'd be weeks behind you.

Solars · 27/05/2013 11:29

Yep Beedle Shock indeed!! Then the clinic were running late by 2 hours so she could have taken her time, I'm a bit worried as I'll need more than an hours notice!! 6 days not long to go then!!

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 11:22

do you mean she was given an hour's notice to come in? solars Shock

Today is day 6 in the golden egg growing house!

Solars · 27/05/2013 11:17

Geek I got up at 8am naturally but it was a good uninterrupted sleep, got to be be in bed early tonight as we need to get to the clinic for 6.30am. Milk is actually a good source of protein, if you look at the labels it can contain 3.6g per 100ml, hence easy to keep up your intake of it. In terms of egg collection I would say its alright to go back the next day to work, but if you want to avoid dink boss stress take the day off.

I may try the sff before ET, Keep I was speaking to a lady yesterday at the clinic who was given an hour to come in for her 3 day transfer. but then she was delayed by a couple of hours after that

Beedle well done on the bloods, hope you get to hear from them soon. It's all go with you now, what day stimming are you on now?

OP posts:
ControlGeek · 27/05/2013 10:50

We've been told two days of abstinence before EC, no more, no less. That ties in nicely with giving the trigger. SFF between then and ET, in that case GrinGrinGrin

I'm hoping for a bit of notice for ET, as MrG has to take the day off work to drive me. Neither of our managers know the reason for the time off, they just know we are at the mercy of hospital schedules.

keepitgoing · 27/05/2013 10:45

Nope, it's before ET, to get the body used to the sperm, or some such. Save them up for EC...

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 10:41

Oh and I think the research was done SFF before EC and after ET but I can't see how you could do it just before EC (unless you have a very young rampant partner, I think MrB will want to save up a couple of days worth!!) But I can see that after could work, and I think the theory was that it would help implantation.

keepitgoing · 27/05/2013 10:41

Sff just before ET!
Geek that sick leave sounds like a plan.

They said to us on day 3 that we'd be a day5, but I don't know what they'd have done if they weren't doing well on d3. Get here now!! Cue 'migraine' for work...?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 10:38

I just hope its only MrB that can detect them, I work with quite a few men Blush

ControlGeek · 27/05/2013 10:35

Just seen I've x-posted - beedle I have just laughed into my coffee at the 'take me now' pheromones, brilliant! I seem to recall keep had found a science paper suggesting that a bit of SFF around EC/ET (can't remember which - must re-read!) was highly beneficial. WFH sounds like a good idea, I might see if I can do that between EC and ET, minimise the dink boss stress as much as possible Grin

ControlGeek · 27/05/2013 10:18

Thanks keep, I'm keeping absolutely everything crossed that I can get to a day 5 transfer. But of course that all depends on the number of eggs, fertilisation rate, how well they grow etc.

If I'm at work there is no chance whatsoever of avoiding dink boss stress. I have a week's annual leave booked at the beginning of July that I will be bringing forward to hopefully coincide with finding out if this round's been successful or not. Re EC/ET, I can take up to five days as self-certified sick leave without needing a dr's note so I was thinking of taking the day after EC off, depending what day that falls on, and a couple of days after ET.

When you get the call from the clinic, do they say 'come in tomorrow for transfer', or 'they're ready, get your ass in here now'? That could make it kind of awkward to explain...

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 10:15

well geek I have booked Mon-wed off next week, told my boss I might work from home a bit, and if I'm lucky and everything goes to plan and I have EC on Mon I will also get an extra day off after ET as Thurs is a holiday here. I think too much time at home will give me too much time to stress about everything.

Oh and they said nothing about milk to me either. And I'd have thought a blood test would be cheaper than a scan, so I don't think you're getting a "worse/cheaper" service. I assume my clinc does teh first blood test to help them decide when to do the first scan. I'm not sure if they will do any more blood tests later.

I think my ovaries are awake, I could definately feel them whilst I was walking this morning (well I think I could, something felt sort of heavy down there) and I'm having masses of EWCM. And I think I might be giving off "take me now" pheromones as MrB was quite rampant yesterday :o

keepitgoing · 27/05/2013 10:09

And its protein you need geek, not nec milk. To grow juicy eggs. Steak'd do it...

I kind of preferred day 5- I knew what was happening and felt it wasn't up to me... And shorter tww. But those phone calls were scary!

keepitgoing · 27/05/2013 10:05

Mmm, I thought they had to keep an eye on oestrogen, if too high they won't put embies back. And Lh, to check yore not gonna ov. But I'm sure they know what they're doing, you just have to trust them.

Geek, I'd say you could do a desk job the day after EC. Ditto ET, I was told no lifting or stairs or exertion for 3-4 days post transfer (5 day), I guess that's when the emby would implant, nor sure if you do day two. But you could work. Any way of avoiding sink boss stress though?

ControlGeek · 27/05/2013 09:54

I remember what I was going to say - my clinic said nothing about drinking milk, and they just said the menopur might make me feel a bit thirsty so to make sure I drink plenty (no hint as to quantities though). They also don't do blood tests - they determine whether your stims need to go up or down purely on what they see in the scans. I don't know if this is because I am NHS, maybe they give their private patients a more thorough picture. Isn't it strange how different the procedures are between clinics.

ControlGeek · 27/05/2013 09:48

Oh you ladies do make me laugh - though I did wonder about the recruitment process myself. I keep imagining a newspaper ad along the lines of "Are you post menopausal? Is your aim good? Why not pee in our pot for cash!"

solars I hope you don't read this post for hours, because you are having the mother of all lie-ins! Well done on your trigger, I hope today is restful for you. Yay for no bloods!

beedle good luck for your blood results, I'm brooking that your ovaries are well and truly awake, and churning away at their golden egg factory. I'd forgotten they have to go back in on day 2 in Sweden, at least you won't have a long period of will-they-won't-they and waiting for update calls.

kitty don't count yourself out just yet my dear, you're a brooker now! There is plenty of time to go, and things to try, before you need to start injecting yourself with old ladies' wee IVF.

Quick question for the IVFers past and present - how much time around EC/ET are you planning on taking off? Is there much recovery time needed from EC, ie do you need at least the next day off work? Is it advisable to have a couple of days off after ET, to let the emby bed in?

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 09:35

:o

BlindKitty · 27/05/2013 08:18

And how do they collect it? I'm envisaging a battery farm of old ladies sat on toilets!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/05/2013 08:12

I wonder how they recruit the post-menopausal women to provide the wee, do you think they pay well? :o
