So who's next in line for that BFP???

OP posts:
BeedlesPineNeedles · 10/06/2013 12:36

Oh geek you poor thing. I've also never had piles, I never realised they hurt all the time I thought it was just when you did a poo Blush (blushing at my lack of knowledge, not at the use of the word poo :o )

I hope MrGeek's mercy mission is a sucess and you feel better soon

ControlGeek · 10/06/2013 11:19

boo I know, isn't that an amazing coincidence? Also, my gran died on a full moon so every full moon I talk to her, and I've taken her brooch to every appointment, including EC and ET. So even if I don't get a BFP on that day I will know she's with me

beedle that's so much easier, just having to ring them with the result. At least it keeps the whole process a lot more private that way. Good luck for Sunday/the day before OTD (and of course every day in between and after).

maybe I hadn't realised it had been done at another clinic. I am sure everything will be perfect. They must do this freezing/defrosting process so much. If there was a high risk of it going wrong they would surely have either taken two samples, or insisted you have a backup plan, no? As for me having a couple of dips, it all depends on what the previous days are showing. If I do get my BFP beforehand, then one dip of the OTD FMU will probably satisfy me that they are not going to give me a different answer. Otherwise, I may have to divide my FMU into two pots Blush

solars (((hugs))) this one is your time, lovely. I understand how hard this must be for you, and the waiting is a killer, but you have done everything in your power to make this a success. Brooking like crazy for your BFP. Sorry about your meltdown with MrS, these men of ours just don't get it half the time. Oh, and yes, I do honestly need to take my FMU into the clinic

cups!!! lovely to see you! Brooking for your ironic BFP/clinic acceptance like you wouldn't believe.

kitty oops about the tan lines! I had ET yesterday so am now 25 hours PUPO not that I am counting Little Eglantine should be at the morula stage about now, so won't be implanting for another 2-3 days.

It's so good to see that you are still around. I'm loving your pamper plan. You of all people seriously need some 'you' time. You've been through so much, lovely. Hopefully this will get you and MrS back on track and give you both space to concentrate on yourselves and each other for a bit. Everything else can wait. Do keep popping back to let us know how you are getting on, I love a good weightloss story :)

keep yes, quite how they expect me not to test at home I don't know! I will definitely be dipping a stick or ten before screwing the lid on. Sorry, I've been a bit remiss with my science experiment results, haven't I? Yes, I'm still testing out the trigger and think I may possibly get another faint line tomorrow but today's was much fainter than the previous day's, and took a good two or three minutes to become visible. I am veeeeeery disappointed in the Morrisons Own test sticks. Their lines come up later than the ICs, fainter than the ICs and it's only about 24 hours later when everything's dried out that they show slightly darker than the ICs. They have a lot more dye passing across, which I think makes it harder to see the line for a good couple of minutes.

Well my latest (and only) symptom is that I am sitting here feeling sick and in agony. Way TMI but I have piles for the first time in my life I could cry, I really could. I had no idea they could hurt so much. MrG is back at work today and has been pressed into running a mercy mission to Boots in his lunch hour for me, since I can barely even make it up and down stairs right now.

Solars · 10/06/2013 09:59

I'm glad it is out in the open but I still don't think he really gets it. I try and put in a context he can understand that usually means a golfing analogy with dh but even then they never engage brain before mouth!! I hope your dh will be able to deal with all their questions then without involving you. By the way I'm still in bed, tiredness from lack of sleep has subsided so I guess I should get ready and do a bit of work today!!

BeedlesPineNeedles · 10/06/2013 09:57

scarlett take all the time you need, and well done on the health kick. I'll definitely be needing one if this doesn't work.

solars we have told my parents (well mum, but I reckon she told my dad) that the IVF was going ahead but actually told them that we wouldn't tell them specific dates. Mum asked me the other day if we had told my brother and family but I said we hadn't and didn't really feel the need to tell them either. If it works we'll probably tell them. I'm fairly certain that MrB hasn't told his parents anything! But his boss does know a fair bit even down to which day we had EC Shock but he's a middle-aged man so I'm assuming he knows nothing about timings and therefore won't ask either of us any difficult questions.

Still feeling rather crampy here, and my muscles in my legs and bum ache. I have no idea why, we didn't do anything remotely strenuous over the weekend. I was going to phone the clinic today and ask them about teh crampyness, but I left the number at home and don't fancy negotiating my way through the hospital switchboard. So I'll call them tomorrow.

I'm not reading anything into these symptoms, by the way, but I am feeling rather fed up with them. Though I should be grateful that I had such an easy time DRing and stimming.

NoMaybeAboutIt · 10/06/2013 09:41

Oh Solars you poor thing. I orally know where you're coming from. MrM's parents decided to tell his who,e family we are having IVF. Totally against our wishes. He won't pull them up on it. But we are now not telling them any dates. They don't even know I've started jabbing. It's too much dealing with others expectations. I'm sure you'll feel better now it's all out in the open x

Solars · 10/06/2013 09:30

Scarlett so lovely to see you and great news on the weight loss. You take all the time in the world to do what you feel is right for you, big brooking love to you too x

You are so right Keep but the nutty part of me seems to have taken residence at the moment. Big melt down with DH this morning. I couldn't sleep last night until about 3 in the morning. DH went and told his mum when we are testing yesterday which freaked me out. I don't mind them knowing we are going through treatment but with my family I haven't been specific about details in terms of dates etc. I should have said something last night but instead went to bed fuming, so this morning it all came out. I just can't be dealing with other people's reaction when I need to be dealing with my own.

Oh Maybe I'm sure it will be ok, you're a brooker and it will all work out. Not long til the 18th now.

Kitty oops about the tan lines, sounds like another holiday in the sun will sort that out!

How are the other 2 PUPO's doing?

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 10/06/2013 08:47

Scarlett so good to see you lovely. Well done on the weight loss. I've got majorly back into my running too. I think it's the only thing keeping me sane at the moment! It would be lovely for you to keep popping in until you're ready to think about another cycle x

Kitty epic fail Grin but it is nice to have a reference so you can see how good the tan is Wink

Keep we weren't given a percentage. According to the urologist, he took 'enough sperm forarleast one cycle' and we were so chuffed. Then we saw my consultant and she went on about donors. So I don't know who to go with. At that point, MrM wasn't sure what to do, butk think now he wishes we had a back up for this cycle as he can see what I'm going through. They have said they can freeze my eggs, but apparently they don't defrost very well. It's terrible, as I think this is going to fail before we even get to ET.

Geek are you really not going to haves dip when the day comes?!

How you doing Solars? And Beedle?

keepitgoing · 10/06/2013 07:49

scarlett!! lovely to hear from you. Good on you for the healthy living and the weight loss. Take all the time you need, and we'll all be here when/if you decide to come back

Hi kitty how's things with you? Do you have your IUI appointment letter yet?

cups I am brooking like anything that you'll get accepted this month. I can't remember if you're going to be long or short protocol?

solars i think you are very brave to wait for that phone call, to be honest. I can't tell you how much I want it to be positive for you. Just two days now. This is the worst bit. I tried to think that all the people here who 'knew' things had failed, or those convinced they had preggo symptoms. People are so often wrong, and we don't really know our bodies that well. So whatever you feel or don't feel, you just can't tell.

maybe you have the whole extra palaver of defrosting sperm, you poor thing. But you are young and have such a good chance here. Are you both happy to go ahead with the donor if the sperm don't defrost well? Did they give you a feeling of the % that they normally do defrost ok?

geek I am laughing at the thought of you taking in your FMU without having tested ten times already! Are you testing the trigger out every day still? Has it gone yet? Give us the scientific update please!

ScarlettInSpace · 09/06/2013 21:55

From afar

Update from ScarlettLand, I've fairly given up I'm sorry to say brookers, I can't cope with feeling like such a failure on a regular basis so Ive tried to findsomething else to focus on sooooooo I've started yoga and Pilates, and I've taken up running again, just done another detox so I'm 7lbs down which is fab Grin

I'm not even thinking about anymore treatment until I've lost 2 stone, I'm sick off putting myself through it with the only result being another half stone gained Hmm. When I get to that point I'll reassess where my heads at hopefully not still up my ass lol

Anyways, just thought I'd say hi and I'll still dip in from time to time, so you haven't Totally got rid of me Grin but to be honest being away from here has helped me hugely to disengage, big brooking love xxx

ScarlettInSpace · 09/06/2013 21:46

Evening all, been dipping in and out, lovely to see so many PUPO's and a few Potential PUPO's on the cards too, am brooking for you all fr

BlindKitty · 09/06/2013 21:05

Hi guys! Just popping in for the goss! namely geek's bfp when is the et? Hope you've all had a fab sun. I stupidly didn't take my sports bra off before sunbathing and now have epic fail tan lines! X

NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/06/2013 20:28

Cups so good to see you. Don't hide, pull up a pew and make yourself comfy Grin. Brooking like mad that you are accepted.

Solars that makes toal sense. As does thinking the worst in order to minimise the disappointment. But I am simply brooking no argument that this has worked. Why do you think it hasn't?

NoCupcakesOrCocktails · 09/06/2013 18:09

Hi everyone,

I've missed so much! I've had a busy few days. Massive congratulations to our newest PUPO Geek GrinGrin sounds like you have got a top notch emby on board.

I can't wait for all the inevitable BFPs starting with Solars it's going to be an exciting few weeks around here.

AF hasn't arrived yet, I'm on cd 28 I'm expecting her any day now. I'll be hiding in the corner until she arrives and I find out if I've been accepted or not.

Solars · 09/06/2013 15:19

Geek I would definitely watch it, it is a little violent but when you understand the storyline you can see why. It's a very good storyline even if you don't like LDC, but how can you not?? Do you really have to take your fmu in?

Keep I'm ok, but having my moments, to be honest at this moment in time I feel it hasn't worked maybe I'm thinking that to lower my expectations and hence will be able to handle my emotions better.

Maybe I just can't bring myself to test early, so scared to see that blank test so would rather wait and be told, plus i have no tests at home. I'm going in early on Wednesday and from what I've read it can take a good 3-4 hours before they get back to you, so I'll be safely at home then to take the call. How long does it take for the sperm to thaw out? Ie when do they tell you all is ok? On the day of your egg collection?

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/06/2013 14:45

There is so much coming up in the next couple of weeks!

Solars when are you testing?

Hope you're ok Cups

Thanks for all your lovely words brookers. There won't be another sample taken on the day, as it will need to be done at another clinic under GA. that's why were advised to have a donor as a back up.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 09/06/2013 14:20

Congratulations on being PUPO geek and I hope the other one grows well enough to freeze.

My OTD is the 20th, but I reckon I'll test earlier than that, next Sunday if I'm feeling brave, the night before if I'm not. I just have to POAS and ring them with the result, it will probably be the lucky brooking peestick sent to me by olives

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 09/06/2013 13:57

Geek I was wondering if your BFP would coincide with the solstice, almost like it was meant to be Wink
Booby is amazing thank you all for asking, a proper little beauty! Such a good girl too (check out our FB if you don't believe me) Grin but brooking babies are, you will all find out soon enough.

ControlGeek · 09/06/2013 13:44

Fab dancing, boo and booby :)

maybe the sperm will be fine (if a little chilly at first). There will have been so many more of them than your eggs that it won't matter so much if one or two don't pull through. Did they say whether they could take another sample on the day, if all else failed?

solars I've not seen that one, I'm not a huge LDC fan. Is it worth watching for someone who is not into LDC, or violent/crime/thriller films? Are you going to wait for Wednesday before testing then? You must have nerves of steel.

rubber not since the tripe whammiers, at least!

yes sparks 12 days for me - will be on a full moon, and midsummer's day - it really will feel like the longest day of the year! My clinic only do blood tests upon insistence by the patient. I have to bring my FMU to the clinic for them to dip their stick. Like that's not going to have happened several times already by then!

thanks keep :)

keepitgoing · 09/06/2013 12:18

maybe I'm sure they'll defrost fine. IOTO, but I'm brooking no argument there'll be loads to choose from. One step at a time.

keepitgoing · 09/06/2013 12:16

cups WILL be starting next week...

Congratulations on being pupo geek

solars hope you are ok, I went a bit mental towards the end. X

I don't think we have ever had so many preggos together on a conception thread before :o

Solars · 09/06/2013 11:03

Geek congrats on being pupo, that's great news! You have a couple of embies there that are growing to schedule, between 6-8 cells on day 3 is fantastic! Feet up and relax now!

Boo loving little booby's dancing! My test date is this Wednesday, to say I am terrified is an understatement!

Maybe lovely, it will all go to plan, so please don't worry.

Olives it was a fantastic movie, although we have seen it before and still both DH and I cried at the end

OP posts:
NoMaybeAboutIt · 09/06/2013 10:21

That's amazing Geek I'm so chuffed for you!

I hope it will be Boo. Am very worried sperm won't make it through the defrost stage, but we shall wait and see. How is booby?

ControlGeek · 09/06/2013 10:12

Been and done now maybe, my clinic don't hang about!!! I am now the latest PUPO brooker (grin)
