Mmmm, lots of lovely food on this thread today!

sarlat · 02/06/2013 06:49

Mmmmm loving the sound of shellfish dinners and chocolate creme brule.

Gin and critter - I am overjoyed to hear you both had successful scans. Wonderful news and brings so much hope.

Mad - sorry for the ongoing confusion.

Buzz -I hope you are doing ok. This is such a difficult time, especially with Barry working away. I would certainly consider going back to epau tomorrow, xxx

ThatWayMadnessLies · 01/06/2013 23:04

*is uncharacteristically

ThatWayMadnessLies · 01/06/2013 20:04

Ah critter was supposed to be cleaning today but ended up shopping instead Blush. We can absolutely not have any visitors round until I sort this stuff out. MrM doing DIY so he in us characteristically off the hook.

mrsd chocolate creme brûlée does sound nice......

euro we had booze, caffeine and a huge platter of shellfish last night. Was ridiculous but why the hell not????? Enjoy your treats xx

CritterPants · 01/06/2013 19:47

Ps den xpost - oh my goodness at a chocolate creme brûlée. That sounds unbelievably delicious.

CritterPants · 01/06/2013 19:45

Just quickly checking in to give a hug to buzzy and congratulate gin. Highs and lows - gin what lovely news. I can't believe that it was only Easter when you were talkin about donor sperm as the next step. How quickly thigs change. Buzz hang in there. Thinking of you. Waves to everyone else, euro the apple cake sounds gorgeous. Mad I am cleaning and thinking of you I know you like to spring clean! Good that you're getting a follow up appointment, maybe make a list of questions in advance? Sorry not to name check more, on phone so trickier!

mrsden · 01/06/2013 19:45

It's funny how things like smears seem so routine now. I find it odd now to think that someone would hate having a smear, or be nervous about baring all their bits to doctors, nurses. I find it hard to think that someone can get to the end of their pregnancy without ever having had an internal.

Euro, you don't need a reason to treat yourself. I'm very jealous of your posh butcher and fishmonger. I've had salmon for dinner, and I'm about to indulge in a chocolate version of a creme brûlée. When I'm feeling low, chocolate does make me feel a little better.

EuroShaggleton · 01/06/2013 19:01

That's brilliant news gin! I guess you're in with the normals now!

mad that sounds confusing. It seems really wrong that you don't get a follow up appointment.

mrsd they won't treat if pregnant, just monitor (which is my preference, pregnant or not). They will just do another colposcopy (peering up the chuff with a magnifying glass and painting the cervix with two different solutions that show up abnormalities) and possibly smear. I don't get any cramping or anything after smears or colposcopies (I've had 3 of the latter now), so I'd have no qualms about having that done during pregnancy.

You're so right about Mr euro's tests.

buzz thinking of you.

I've had a lazy day. Did nothing at all all morning. Spent this afternoon buying lovely food on a visit to the fancy fishmonger & butcher in Dulwich, so we have giant tiger prawns for dinner tonight and steak for tomorrow! We figured we'd treat ourselves because, well, just because. Then I baked an apple cake when we got back.

ThatWayMadnessLies · 01/06/2013 17:15

So happy for you gin. You do indeed give us hope that early treatment failures don't mean that we should give up or lose faith xx

buzzy this is so hard. it is indeed good news about extended contracts but living apart is difficult, especially given your current circumstances. i still have everything crossed for you.

Afm the bleeding continues but not as bad as full on af. that for me would mean really heavy bleeding and lots of pain. really don't know what's happening but got a letter through offering a follow up appointment (nurse had said they didn't offer them as standard Confused) so will book in to talk it through. if they don't give satisfactory answers i will ring the endo consultant for a chat. i am not good at being pushy though.....

Hope everyone is enjoying a warm and sunny weekend!

mrsden · 01/06/2013 17:15

Shropshire is lovely, nice and green and Shrewsbury is a nice city also. It's also cheap compared to the south east but then I suppose anywhere is. Ive moved lots because of dh's work and it never takes long to settle in somewhere new so long as you look on it as an adventure.

buzzybee123 · 01/06/2013 17:06

well we wouldn't have much of a choice about moving really as this is the first real job offer in about 4 years, its in Shropshire so its nice, I haven't really looked at jobs yet but for a while I'd be happy doing most things

mrsden · 01/06/2013 16:50

Buzzy, good news that Barry has had his contract extended. How do you feel about moving? Would it be easy for you to find work up there?

mrsden · 01/06/2013 16:49

Wonderful, wonderful news gin. Was that your 12 weeks scan? Are you going to tell everyone now? Your story really does give me hope, I'm so happy for you.

Critter, wonderful news for you to. Congratulations!

Buzz, I'm still thinking of you.

Euro, nag mr euro to get back for his tests! Men are so bad for this. Mr den is always moaning about his back but refuses to go to the dr about it. That's sounds like good news about the smear result. What will happen of you're pregnant in 6 months though? What does treatment involve?

buzzybee123 · 01/06/2013 16:49

pout do you think you#ll start monitoring next cycle then?? Yes Barry is back, the contract has been extended 3 months so at some point I will go up there and see what the place is like before we decide to move, well thats if they offer him a job at the end of it all,

gin Thats great news

GinSoaked · 01/06/2013 16:40

Just a really quick post to let you know everything was ok at the scan! Measurement are now all fine and a v low risk of downs. Was amazing to see it and how much it's changed since the last scan. Really hope this gives you all some hope xx

Poutintrout · 01/06/2013 14:54

Aw buzz. So sorry you are feeling like this. Is MrB back home?
Sinuses are okay thanks. No fixed date for FET owing to not doing the cycle monitoring this month as planned with the hospital.
Thinking of you today.

buzzybee123 · 01/06/2013 13:17

exhausted pout the drugs and stress are literally sucking the life out of me, i just want it to all end

when are you and Colin getting together then, have they given you a date to start, who are your sinuses

Poutintrout · 01/06/2013 13:09

Good luck today gin

buzz how are you today?

buzzybee123 · 01/06/2013 12:54

gin thinking of you

akuabadoll · 31/05/2013 19:48

gin have a good time tomorrow, don't be scared. Try not to think about it too much, once the scan is underway you will be fine, I promise Smile

buzzybee123 · 31/05/2013 19:34

gin good luck for your scan, the scan is what I expected, I know I wouldn't see a heartbeat today but what I didn't expect was my symptoms to go and as for the digi, I have always found them reliable it wouldn't drop by that much just because I didn't use FMU, it really doesn't have to be FMU,I did a digi the other night and it was 3+

GinSoaked · 31/05/2013 19:23

Oh buzzy tight hand hold. I'm so sorry you feel it's all over. For what it's worth, I don't think it is, but I know that doesn't help. At my clinic they don't date by size, but rather show you where the size is in a range of normal. I don't see how they could say that size is def that date. Ignore the cb digital. I didn't get 3 + until week 6 and you weren't using FMU, which it specifies. Also I've read at a certain hcg level, hpts can't read it properly. Seeing a yolk during week 5 is really good news. You wouldn't expect to see a heartbeat until at least week 6. Sorry I know none of this helps. Is Barry back home? Take care x

Fab news critter Grin, but ouch on the mashive ovaries.

Promise to catch up properly soon. I've just done a 10 hour day at work, had a retch in the work loos and am finally on my way home, so am a bit fooked and brain not working. Am shitting myself bout tomoz, but thanks for the good wishes lovelies. It means a lot x

ThatWayMadnessLies · 31/05/2013 18:26

Hello again everyone,

So sorry buzzy that you're in such turmoil. There is nothing I can say to allay your fears but please stay and keep posting. I have everything crossed for a positive outcome for you xx

critter some good news is more than welcome around here!! So pleased for you and MrC. Not surprised your ovaries are still swollen given how many eggs they produced. I'm glad they're keeping an eye on you. Was it you who suggested I see a dr tubes prison a la sar? Or was it rabbit? Either way I think I will do if we don't have success on the next ivf round. There are things I would want to explore before going private.

Lovely to see you doll. I hope that you aren't overdoing it. Your job sounds pretty full on. I am very optimistic that you'll be able to have your baby at home (wherever that may be). If not Bangkok sounds exotic :)

sar fingers crossed you're through the worst but deffo head to the GP if it flares up again.

mrsd can I sign up for the bargain basement ivf with you and doll?Sounds ideal for my budget Wink.

rabbit I think a monitored cycle and a trial run before ivf would be really good for you. Hopefully it will take away some of the fear and uncertainty and get you diffed before doing ivf at all

nelly I hope you're feeling more cheerful soon. A bit of a brk from TTC obsession can be rally good though.

Well, I heard from the clinic. They want me to wait for my next period before starting the decapeptyl now because they need to be sure that they give it at the right time (days 1-3). If the bleeding stops over the weekend and my period comes as expected in a week and a half then I can still go for it this month. I can call them on Monday to let them know what happens. This has freaked me right out though because my first decapeptyl injection back in december was given in the hospital (around day 10 or 12 I think) and I didn't read the info until I got home by which point it was too late to do anything about it. I am now worried that they have mucked up my cycles and damaged my ovaries by giving it at the wrong time. No one really seemed to know much about it, despite the fact that I had just had a lap on the gynae ward and you'd think they would be familiar with this crap. Feeling very emotional which perhaps confirms that this is a very very early Af. I didn't use opks this month because I didn't want to stress. Now I really wish I had.

Okay, must snap out of this and go drink lots of Wine and eat lots of preggo unfriendly shellfish!

Good luck tomorrow gin. More good news, please Grin

rabbitonthemoon · 31/05/2013 17:27

Wave to gin thinking of you for tomorrow - one more sleep!

EuroShaggleton · 31/05/2013 16:09

critter I'm thrilled for you. Am grinning away here. :)
