I dunno guff. I read yesterday that you should dtd for 3 consecutive nights from peak smiley. There is NO WAY we can do that, so i figure we'll either dtd tonight OR tomorrow night and then call it a day. Tonight would probably be better but i'm not sure that we can manage it.
Those little swimmers last for a while, right?

It feels like we've been at it constantly all month but I just consulted my period tracker and it seems it's only been 4 times since last saturday Blush. that actually doesn't seem very much, the pressure is obv getting to me.

alice i dunno about the vitamins - i'm taking sanatogen mumtobe and my cycle has been 24/25 days since mc. last month i was one day late but then AF came Sad. Perhaps that was the vitamins starting to make it longer?
fingers crossed for you!!

alicebear · 07/06/2013 14:51

vix you poor thing that sounds truly heartbreaking. So sorry.
mummy hope things go as ok as poss. In my one experience the erpc whilst still obv a horrid thing to go through was far easier than the natural mc that preceded it.
sal very exciting your wedding is so close now. What's with the new dtd approach?!
birds I suppose that's an alternative to meringues for using up the egg whites! But seriously gross! Couldn't do that I'm sure. Isn't there a cough treatment that's meant to increase cm?
aly glad DH was still up to the job post match.
So do we have no poas-ers today? I'm 11dpo but have never had a BFP pre 14dpo so waiting a few more days. Luteal phase pre mc was 10 days though so whilst AF looks late my hopes increase. Although could it just be pregnacare conceive increasing the length of LP? Anyone ever noticed vitamins doing that?

mini28 · 07/06/2013 13:59

Hi everyone! I'm wishing the day away today - can't wait for the weekend. I've been having weird bubbles and rumblings in lower abdomen today. I have been really sensitive to anything going on in there since the mmc. it's like I can feel things more readily. Have others found the same?

vix sorry to hear your story, sounds like you've had a very traumatic time of things Flowers

isit please don't worry about lifting etc. After my horrid 12wk scan where we were told the pregnancy wasn't viable, I (like many others have done) had to wait for a week for 2nd scan. I was really sure in my mind that the pregnancy was over and was kind of hoping things would start naturally (didn't want to have to make the decision between med management and a d&c) Anyway, during that week, I did loads of heavy lifting, including digging up half the garden and building a new veg patch. Nothing happened. This really proved to me that nothing I was doing in my day-to-day life could have caused my miscarriage, and I took a lot of comfort from that.

mummy thinking of you today

GuffSmuggler · 07/06/2013 13:55

alyant so how long after peak smiley are you meant to keep DTD? A few days ideally I guess..? (if you're not both totally knackered and crying 'no more!')

GuffSmuggler · 07/06/2013 13:52

Oh yeah I forgot it was friday, any POASers out there??

BakingBunty · 07/06/2013 13:07

Eewww birds rather you than me! Preseed may be preferable?! I also read that drinking grapefruit juice helps with ewcm. Hate the stuff but forced it down in the name of duty Grin

alyant79 · 07/06/2013 12:38

one more thing isit: POAS! It's friday!

alyant79 · 07/06/2013 12:37

haha isit I only wish i had an absent AF to be paranoid about...
as guff said though, don't stress about the lifting of toddlers or files, that will have had nothing to do with it

guff great news on the flashing smiley!! Woo! I didn't get to pee on my one remaining stick this morning because the monitor was stil displaying the peak smiley. I re-read the directions and it says it will display peak for 2 days, and not to pee after that. So that's it. Officially 2ww now, although somehow we have to muster the enthusiasm for dtd tonight too i am going to take a syringe home from work just in case

GuffSmuggler · 07/06/2013 11:50

PS isit you made me laugh being scared to cough or poo Grin I really don't think lifting a toddler would have made any difference to your MC otherwise no-one with young kids would ever get PG. Try not to be too hard on yourself and worry (easier said I know!)

GuffSmuggler · 07/06/2013 11:41

So sorry for what you've been through vix MMC is such a terrible, awful thing. I had no idea before it happened to me. I hope we can help you onwards with your TTC journey.

birds that is rancid, REAL egg white?! I'd be worry about having a half chickenbaby Wink

Glad you managed to DTD the deed alyant

Big news is I have a flashing smiling so its go go go!!! We are SO busy this weekend, I have no idea how we're going to manage it, but we WILL!!

Think of you mummy x

IsItMyArseOrMyElbow · 07/06/2013 11:19

Is it just me or is anyone else who is awaiting the conspicuous absence of AF, terrified to cough or push for a poo?

Still convinced I mc last time because I stupidly lifted my neighbour's toddler into her car seat (started bleeding that same night), so am paranoid. Big pile of files for me to check before archiving is growing as I don't want to say anything to anyone, but am too scared to try and lift them!

Sundance2007 · 07/06/2013 09:53

Hi all,

Goodness me...as I've not been on here for a couple of days, I lost this thread and ended up on some other "ttc after mc" post where all the ladies were fighting and being horrible to eachother! Thank goodness for all the lovelies on here!

alyant - Glad your other half made it home to perform his duties! haha, at least cricket isn't as exhausting as some other sports...I'm officially banning my DH from football on smiley face days so he has no excuses!!

Mummy - Even if you don't read this today, I hope everything goes as well as can be expected. It's heartbreaking but you're amongst friends here...hope you make it back to us soon...this site really helped me after my mc.

Vix - So sorry to hear about your experience, it's horrendous, and soooo wrong that anyone would lie about having a mc. What's wrong with people??

Sal - what's with the artificial method? haha At least it sounds like you had fun - and how exciting that you're getting married next week! Congratulations!!

Phew - good luck to anyone performing the Friday POAS ritual, hope you get some good news. x

OneLittleToddleTerror · 07/06/2013 09:30

I haven't posted for a while, but have been keeping up by popping in.

vix your post really moved me. It must have been so hard. In a way, I'm glad that I lost so much blood during my mc (like you, after a mmc confirmed by 12 week scan). I have to go into A&E, put on IV drip and had a ERPC that evening. I was spared the trauma of having to meet the foetus. I can't imagine how emotional I would be. And I know what you mean by you have to bury him.

BirdsDoIt · 07/06/2013 09:15

vix poor you. I hope your luck changes from hereon in! Your partner's ex sounds like a nutter.

BirdsDoIt · 07/06/2013 09:14

Haha hilarious, you actually did it sal! Can't believe it. If this one results in a bfp, you know we'll all be at it, don't you?

I agree alyant, romance is fast evaporating in our household (though my lovely DH as keen as ever Smile). I was reading in the Toni Wechsler book about what to do if you don't get much/any ewcm and she suggests real egg white + syringe instead. Now that's when you know romance has officially left the building. (Quite intrigued by the idea though!!)

alyant79 · 07/06/2013 08:40

I'm surprised your DH went through with it sal - I thought maybe he was just calling your bluff.
Have to admit that when my DH FINALLY came home last night I felt like pulling the cup out as well. Hmmmm... if it doesn't work this month I think i'm going to have to try and take it more easy next month. Romance - what's that?

alyant79 · 07/06/2013 08:37

ah vix it's so horrible isn't it?
I can't believe that you know someone who's lied about having a mc! I assume that she lied and said she'd had one (rather than had a mc and denied it)? What a nutcase.

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 06/06/2013 23:36

I may have missed something Sal but why have you decided to do the artificial insemination? Is there more chance of getting pregnant that way?

Sal1977 · 06/06/2013 22:04

Seriously.....that was the most unromantic moment of receiving baby juice EVER but easy least for me!

Now laying in bed, bum on a pillow, awaiting a bloody miracle!! Hehehe.....

I was soo tempted to video him under the duvet doing his thing I am evil. Wahahaha!!!

Penguinita · 06/06/2013 21:55

Sal, I think you should tape a photo of yourself in a bikini to that cup. Just to remind him of the real thing in case he gets to like the cup a bit too much... Grin

Penguinita · 06/06/2013 21:53

Oh vix, you poor thing, that is so sad. You might not feel it but I think you are really strong and brave to have come through that and still to have posifrickingtivity. Thanks

vix2812 · 06/06/2013 21:22

Thanks to Alyant for the welcome,
Reading through some posts, it's amazing how many of us are going through the mill of TTC.
Just remember girls, when it's meant to be, it will be. The child you eventually catch with and you give birth to, is who they are through the good and the bad you've had to experience. And you'll love them for that.

I didn't explain much about my m/c, or why I'm here. So here goes;
I used ovulation tests and conceived the first month testing. Around 9 weeks i told the Dr to get my 11 week scan. On April 29th 2012, I had the scan which told me the baby had no heartbeat. I had a missed miscarriage. I decided to wait and see for 2 weeks before agreeing to medical management. I took the oral pill and everything came out that night (May 20th 2012). The following 4 weeks was arranging it to be buried. As i m/c at home and we had to 'check the contents' of everything, we saw him/her (personally i think it was him). Once we saw him/her, we couldn't do anything other than bury him. He/She was 12+1, and had all the general features, even eyes and nostrils.
The emotions involved are so complicated, I was angry at the baby for being weak, my partner for maybe not being so supportive during the pregnancy (i was working 2 jobs, when he didn't), i was sad and greiving, i was envious and jealous at other mums-to-be, i was bitter and cold.
The worst part is, i've known and heard of women that lie about m/c. One woman was my partners ex, and caused our first few months together to be hell. If she'd really had a m/c, she never would even think to lie about one. I wouldn't wish this on an enemy, the most traumatic experience for a woman.

Besides from that, there is hope. My very own sister-in-law m/c and conceived my beautiful niece only 4 months after, even after an infection caused by left-over tissue from the m/c.
