Ohhh saggy!!!! FFS!!!! All at the same time!!!! You really really need to treat yourself tomorrow - please pamper yourself or go out for a nice lunch or something - thinking of you xxxx

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 08/06/2013 23:24

Fucksake!
Ten minutes after writing that post, I emerged from the bathroom having discovered AF has turned up early AGAIN, to be handed a letter which came for me today. From my GP surgery. Offering me the whooping cough vaccination as I am currently pregnant! Fuckers! Angry
I don't think I can keep playing this game. Sad

vix BFP is Big Fat Positive so you can work out BFN.
DTD is doing the deed ie baby making!
CD- cycle day
OV - ovulation

I think that's the basics! Xx

vix2812 · 08/06/2013 22:46

thnx hun, and BFP? lol, not down with the lingo. I think i get POAS, Pi** on a stick? Is BFP before first day of period? i feel like im doing a cryptic crossword...maybe there should be a page for mumsnet slang and terminology!

Saggy I would wait until at least Friday anyway, keep yourself busy and forget about it. Focus on enjoying yourself!

RainbowConnections · 08/06/2013 21:36

AF - "Auntie Flo" - slang for period.
I had to look that one up when i was new too

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 08/06/2013 21:31

Right, I need you all to come and sit on me and administer a good fish slapping please!
I have HUGELY sore breasts, and random niggly pains. I am itching to POAS. AF is not due until Wednesday, and I know that I have occasional cycles like this, but I just cant help myself! So please please please restrain me! I only have 3 cheapies left from my job lot, (of 10!!) and I don't want to waste them without a BFP!

OP posts:
vix2812 · 08/06/2013 21:25

Im new here so can somebody explain what AF is?

Rainbow just think though, you were quick enough to conceive so you've obviously got a very good chance for future references!
They do say to give your body some time to come to terms with the trauma of a miscarriage but everybody is different and here's to you have a successful scan and pregnancy to come!

RainbowConnections · 08/06/2013 21:17

Hi all

Sorry to read of your experience vix. glad you're finding support here.

Sorry too mummy, hope you are resting.

Sal i bet others will be following your lead. I really like the sound if getting into position, then reading a good book!

I saw a locum GP yesterday at 5 wks pregnant and she was really critical about getting pregnant straight after MC without AF first. I felt like an idiotic teenager who hadnt bothered with contraception. And she was really negative about bleeding/cramping - if not an MC could still be previous pregnancy. Luckily I'd read about Bakingbunty having to consider this (glad your scan went well) so was not totally unexpected. Nonetheless the whole appt left me embarrassed and sad. I have a scan Friday. Hope staff there are a little more compassionate.

Sorry to grumble, i know I'm lucky to concieve so quickly.

vix2812 · 08/06/2013 19:53

thankyou all for being so polite and considerate, tbh I've talked to few people about the experience and it's seemed like an every-day occurance to hear about to them. And here I am, telling the most brief version i could to women who have experienced the same miserable sht of losing part of yourself and you all read it and appreciatte the individual. So thankyou, it means a lot. really* means a lot.

The whole experience was so awful, it's one of those events you think back and wonder if it actually happened because you can't imagine being able to get through it. But somehow we all did, and we're here to go through another day until we are somewhat justified as loving, caring mothers/mothers-to-be.

Seeing the baby was the most delightful thing I did in the whole process, a mother should always be able to hold their baby especially when it's their only chance to hold them whilst they're asleep.
I have a full version down on blog now if anybody would like to know more about MMC and being left to it, nothing prepared me for it at all, and maybe my story will help somebody else. vix2812Cardiff.blogspot.com

To those interested in hearing about the perverted minds of ones that lie about M/C's; my fiancee's ex announced she was pregnant (just as we got together and he stopped all communication with her), I was also pregnant by an ex-partner. My fiancee never responded to her as this was one in a many string of lies throughout their time together and apart. Eventually he received a facebook message from her saying she had miscarried due to 'stress'. (which we all know for your first m/c, and a few after, they dont even bother giving you a reason). We found out she was lying as her own friend said she knew about the whole thing and that it was made-up.

Im reading some of these posts and congratulations lies try not to be too worried and relax, you don't want this whole pregnancy to be stressful and tense.
Also, so devastated to read about you Mummy, i can't believe how tough you are. I've only been through it once, don't think i could cope a second. Just remember what's meant to be, will be.

Maybe sometimes something/God/whatever you believe in is trying to protect us, maybe sometimes the fate of our children would've been worse had the pregnancy or their life had continued? I personally believe that there wasn't something right with my baby (biologically) and my body shut it down. Maybe it saved me from still-birthing or worse, the baby dying from sudden death. That would've been far more painful.

Fingers crossed for the ladies here and everywhere, my period's slowing today so due to an early ovualtion in my cycle, i'll hopefully be active in a week or so and with some good news in a month.

Sal1977 · 08/06/2013 18:29

Hey mummy, hope you're doing Ok this evening? Surround yourself with nice food and your duvet for a couple of days so your body has a chance to fix itself up!

Day 3 of project 'Syringe' here in the South West. This is day 8 of insemination of one sort or another so keeping everything crossed! Had a 2nd day of positive Ov stick, so timing is good hopefully. Unfortunately I'm feeling as rough as rats with a temp of 101f so my temps are screwed for this month which is very annoying as it now means we'll have to go another couple of days to be on the safe side!

Mummytothearkbuilder · 08/06/2013 15:23

Hi ladies

So I had my ERPC yesterday and it went well and was not as bad as I thought. It started to kick of naturally about 30 mins before my op and they asked if I wanted to go home but I insisted that after having a natural miscarriage in feb I just couldn't go through it again so they did the op.

I felt a bit rough yesterday but today I'm feeling better than expected. I have done some bits round the house and had my hair cut this morning but taking it easy now.

Not actively ttc at the moment but will lurk here if that's okay - I'm not going back on the pill so if it happens it happens but we need to recover emotionally.

Thanks for all your messages - you are a lovely bunch :-)
Xxx

Clairey2012 · 07/06/2013 20:55

Hi peeps, mind if I join in? Totaly know what you mean alyant79. I havnt been on here for ages. Just feeling abit low and wanted to be injected with your positivity! Its been nearly 8 onths of ttc after a mc in october, would have my bambino now had It not ended up in mc. Just wish there were some magic cheats on how to get pregnant. Not feeling very positive. hmmmm.x

alyant79 · 07/06/2013 20:03

well my mc was diagnosed in feb, and didn't finish getting rid of all the retained products until mid march - which means if i'm going to fall in that 3 month window it needs to be RIGHT NOW!
it's funny/sad to think that when it first happened i was so convinced that i was going to be one of the lucky ones who gets upduffed immediately Sad

my DH has confessed that he doesn't think he can perform tonight, and i forgot to steal a syringe from work Hmm rats. tomorrow night it'll have to be

yay liesl!

alicebear · 07/06/2013 20:00

birds I think there's definitely something in it about us girls really going for it post mc that helps with those 3 month figures!
Yes it's really hard with pregnant friends. I have one due 3days before I would've been (by lmp) & just heard today she's having a girl. Really chuffed for her but I have a weird but certain feeling I was going to have a girl & it just makes me feel worse about what's not happening for us. Just keep hoping things will work out soon & AF will stay away. It is tough - all of this.
sal thanks for sharing those moments! It's pretty funny - if it works I think you'll have started a trend... Maybe?!

BirdsDoIt · 07/06/2013 19:34

Ha ha sal you made me laugh out loud on the train and everyone looked at me very strangely...I like your 'experiment of the month' idea but can I just dissociate myself from the earlier real egg white suggestion, as I REALLY don't want to try that! (Although I'd love to see the look on DH's face). Imagine it would all be quite, um, squelchy. Presumably it goes in before you start DTD?! Is that how preseed works?

Grapefruit juice (to drink) sounds much more palatable..I think plain robitussin is the cough medicine to try but haven't quite got desperate enough to track that down yet.

liesl great news your digi showed the right result!

I've now stupidly forgotten who said about having friends over for lunch and discovering they're pregnant - but I feel your pain - it is incredibly difficult especially when they're at same stage as you would have been. Sad I really hope I remember how this feels if when I get pg again so I don't inflict it on anyone too. {{Hug}}

It occurred to me today that all this stuff people tell you about loads of women getting pg in the three months after mc - and being super fertile - is that just because all those women are bonking away desperately in an attempt to get pg again?? (Though obv our chances are extremely posifrickintively good).

Sal1977 · 07/06/2013 18:52

Yep! Although its totally different the rest of the month when you're doing it for fun don't you think? X

OneLittleToddleTerror · 07/06/2013 18:49

sal isn't it so true ttc takes all the romance away from sex?

Sal1977 · 07/06/2013 18:32

Seriously, when you've done it 5 or 6 days in a row and have used all your best moves up, the thought of us both glumly thrusting away trying to think sexy thoughts just does both our heads in (plus my noonie is feeling a bit unhappy now!). This way, he knocks one out in no time,I get into position, he goes off to watch the tennis and I have a snooze or read my book. Done.

I read that the stats are the same as normal bonking. Not quite as romantic though! Hehe....imagine if it works!?!

Here's an idea, each month one of us should trial a crazy TTC trick that we've heard or read about and report back to base.

I'll kick off with the syringe method. Day 2 complete and tip of the day is to raise hips before plunging the plunger. If you don't, it goes everywhere which I can assure you is GRIM. Also, have NO eye contact with the contents of the cup, it'll make you feel sick. Grin

Lieslvontrapp · 07/06/2013 18:05

Mummy so sorry you're going through this again. Its so shit. Be kind to yourself.

Gutted we have no poasers today.

Well actually I did poas and got the 2-3 weeks I was hoping for. Starting to believe it more now especially as I have to wee so much at the minute. But still nervous so still trying not to think too far ahead which is hard as I so want this to be a healthy pregnancy. I guess only time will tell.

Sounds like everyone's busy on the dtd front. Interesting method sal! He he!

OneLittleToddleTerror · 07/06/2013 17:01

guff if you are following the SMEP, it suggests BD the last time at one day after ovulation. It's because the egg survives about 12-24 hours after ovulation. You might have that long lasting one that is 24 hours! There's no need to BD anymore after that window. HTH

Tomkat79 · 07/06/2013 16:38

Thinking of you today mummy.

Any BFPs today?!

Been 4 weeks today since my ERPC and no AF yet. Grrrr.

alyant79 · 07/06/2013 16:38

ugh sundance I know, I know... they are everywhere! the whole world is exploding with preggos.
Thankfully most of the preggos I see regularly know about my miscarriage so they are very good at not rubbing my nose too much in their happiness.
But it's still hard to see them, especially the one who has exactly the same EDD that I did Sad
chin up girls!! Posifrickentivity! In no time at all we'll be the ones getting all fat and uncomfortable.

Well done on the healthy regime. I'm trying to convince DH to do the 5:2 diet with me. I don't really need to do it but he does, so i'm pretending to go along for the ride. I can secretly eat at work Wink

Sundance2007 · 07/06/2013 15:52

My AF finally buggered off yesterday so today I've officially begun the improved healthy regime - vitamins, no alcohol and I'm trying to exercise as much as I can.

We had some people over for dinner last night, old friends of my husband's who we hadn't told about my MC as I don't really know them that well and it's not that easy to just drop into the conversation. And you guessed it, she's pregnant - she conceived just a couple of weeks after I did so it was odd to see her growing tummy knowing that I would have been the same by now.

Just feeling a bt sorry for myself today; I had to listen to all the details about how it started kicking this week, and getting exciting about the nursery, Mat leave etc. I'm genuinely pleased for them and it would have just been awkward to say anything after that, but talk about having your nose rubbed in it. I now have 7 pregnant friends. They're everywhere! aaaargh!!

alicebear · 07/06/2013 15:50

aly I know completely how you feel about feeling like you've been at it all month & when you look at the app it seems to only be a handful of times!
Still it only takes one go so surely all this effort during the green weeks will pay off for us all...
