Hi all

I lurked on the last thread but didn't think we'd ever be in a position to make a decision but DH and I have finally decided we're going to start trying in September! We've been married 5 years in September and we'll be trying for our 1st.

I came off the pill in march after many years and was surprised that things started to get back to normal quite quickly. Since then I've been taking conception vitamins and DH has just started taking his too. I'm charting and using opk's with a CBFM ready and waiting for closer to the time Smile

I see that this thread has already had some bfps so hopefully that will continue for the rest of us when our time comes!

MissCalamity · 15/06/2013 10:42

Hi again,
Back from our small mini break, OH has been put off having a second for life! Our DS (3.6) & our friends DS (3.10) were fighting quite a lot and I did keep reaching for the alcohol myself..! They're just trying to assert themselves into top dog & I kept trying to explain having a second wouldn't be like that as they're be 4+ years difference. DS was protective of their little girl (1.5) & although didn't go out of his way to play with her. Our friends were arguing a bit between themselves so that again has put him off, grrr!

I'm still not getting any more pills though & have bought the folic acid.

I remember trying to convince him to TTC the first time, one of the biggest green lights was when the friends we were away with announced they were pregnant, so he has a friend to moan with for life.

Fingers crossed for everyone!

moominlike · 15/06/2013 07:55

Hi SS I remember you from the original thread, glad the move went well. Also just moved house (though not as far as you!) and just about finished the boxes! Hope all goes well with TTC, I never made it onto another thread as my BFP happened v.quickly and I still lurk here to see how everyone's doing :)

SuddenlySqueamish · 13/06/2013 15:50

Oh wow you've grown and burst in to new thread!

Just coming back on to MN for first time in ages. I was on the other thread and was waiting for house move chaos to be over to start TTC. Well we've moved and the chaos is mostly over. Still have junk in boxes but I'm down to only rearranging everything once a week now so that's kinda settled!
I did get offered a new job though which kinda threw me off a bit. But figured it might take a while anyway and it's only a year's contract so can't let that stop us! My first AF after moving was 4 days late which got me really excited. Normally have a regular as clockwork 29 day cycle but moving stress must have knocked me off kilter. But those few days of wondering if we'd manage to conceive without even trying made me ridiciulously excited and sure that now is the right time. So I guess I should hop on over to the TTC thread. Just wanted to drop by and say hello. Hope all goes well and this waiting time flies by for you all. :)

Buddhagirl · 13/06/2013 12:41

I just bought this www.vitabiotics.com/pregnacare/hisandher_main.aspx

Keen much? Hid it from dh for a while as he would just roll his eyes and I don't want to pile the pressure on, quite worried he is going to u-turn on the September date.

ThedementedPenguin · 10/06/2013 17:03

Hi Miss Calamity. That's what I done. Refused to get another pill packet. Hopefully things start happening quickly for you. How old is your ds?

I'm so fed up waiting for Af to come. I'm dreading it but wishing it would hurry up as I'd like a rough idea of dates, when/if it happens.

Hope everyone had a good weekend :)

Buddhagirl · 10/06/2013 13:41

Miss calamity hope July is your month :)

I'm waiting impatiently. Worried dh will change his mind in sept. But what can you do. I'm so not a worrier normally, this ttc stuff turns me into a nut job, I really hope we don't have problems ttc or I'm going to be a nightmare!

MissCalamity · 09/06/2013 10:13

Hello everyone,

I am loving this thread, glad to know there's people in the same boat I'm in!

Well, I don't know when we are going to TTC - had a chat with the other half on Monday, and said I didn't want to leave things too late, he's been mulling it over, and has asked DS if he wants a little brother or sister, DS said NO. But then I had a chat with him and he changed his mind, only if he got a brother...!

I only have one pill packet left after this month, so I will refuse to go and get anymore! We're going away for a few days tomorrow, so hopefully I can attempt to convince OH, we're going away with friends and their two children, so hopefully he can see how good it is with two. Grin

So, it's hopefully going to be July for me now (fingers crossed!)

Good luck everyone else!

thundernlightning · 09/06/2013 02:59

Congratulations Buddhagirl! It'll be September in no time!

Amymia03 · 07/06/2013 20:13

Great news Buddha girl, it's exciting to have a month decided. Smile I'm excited but really nervous about becoming pregnant again, it's been almost 10 years. Please tell me that second time is easier

Buddhagirl · 07/06/2013 19:18

My strike-through failed on my tablet :(

Buddhagirl · 07/06/2013 19:17

Thanks everyone, Disney you should stay and cheer us on and inject patience!

So I lasted 2 days instead of 2 months before I asked manipulated dh into making a decision and I'm glad I did as we 100% agreed on September!! That is not that long, Squeee :D

OwlBeThereForYou · 05/06/2013 20:53

Also any tiny "symptom" I get over excited...even tho I'm still on the pill Hmm I'm pretty sure I imagine most of them Grin

Not imagining this weeks sore boobs tho, they definitely hurt...sorry if that was tmi and you didn't want to knowGrin

OwlBeThereForYou · 05/06/2013 20:50

Buddha that is how I feel, our waiting is depending on our own home, which is waiting for a better job for DH, it feels like it's waiting for everyone else rather than what we want. And there are days where we say fuck it, it's probably gonna take ages anyway, but then we have to be sensible Hmm I don't want to be sensible any more!

ThedementedPenguin · 05/06/2013 20:45

20122012 I'm not ebf. My periods had returned after birth but I was on cerazette from November and my last period was over Christmas. So I'm waiting for it to return now. But we are pretty much happy for it to happen when ever it's right.

Oh buddha I hope you and your Dh can agree sometime soon. It's probably a good idea to give him some time then start the chat again. I'd imagine its very frustrating hearing all different ideas. Although it is a hard decision to make. So he could be afraid to do it in the wrong order.

I agree about finding this frustrating. We never TTC number 1. He was a lovely surprise so planning and waiting is annoying. Although I'm going to try and have plans everyday so I'm not sitting thinking bout it all the time, as it can completely take over your whole thought.

Amy I agree. It would be a great idea to take the coil out now, that way it gives your body time to readjust.

DisneyDiva87 · 05/06/2013 18:56

I am actually TTC now buddha but when I first started on these boards I was still waiting for my AF after stopping the pill so don't think I am actually on the list. This is my first cycle. I just kept on popping in Here Felt too rude to just stop cause I was TTC!

Amymia03 · 05/06/2013 18:38

Thank you disneydiva for your advice. Your right, it would make more sense to have the coil removed now, and give my body a chance to get back to normal. X

Buddhagirl · 05/06/2013 17:41

Disney, can't see you on the list, how long do you have to wait?

Buddhagirl · 05/06/2013 17:39

I'll give him a few more months of changing his mind then I'll pin him down to a decision, there will be no place to hide, mwahaha.

Luckily we decided to get a house that will last us for a while, taking into account a nice road, 2 bedrooms, half decent schools. So, thats cool.

I would not cope well if he said let's go for it then changed his mind!

DisneyDiva87 · 05/06/2013 17:31

DH and I had that same problem Buddha thing is there will always be something to wait for even when you have a house. My argument to DH was "what if we buy a house now then have a kid and find the house isn't suitable anymore" Our current priorities are going to be completely flipped on their heads when a baby comes along. I also really struggled with him saying "lets just do it" and then "no lets wait" it really messes you about so make sure he knows how it affects you emotionally.

Buddhagirl · 05/06/2013 17:30

Do you guys think it is just as (or more) frustrating waiting to ttc #2 than #1?

Buddhagirl · 05/06/2013 17:27

Well my dh is all over the place, first it was wait til the new house, then it was stay with inlaws and save money while ttc, then it was seriously consider ttc when we have mortgage in principle and more money and been in his new job for a while. Make up your bloody mind!

I feel like someone else is dictating (and constantly changing) a massive part of my life. Obviously it needs to be a mutual decision when we are both ready and in a good place, I just wish he would make up his mind as to when that might be! It would be easier to have the flat rule : when we have the new new house, even though that is further away at least I would know for sure.

20122012 · 05/06/2013 15:22

Hi thedementedpenguin. Ideally, as anal as it sounds I'd like next baby to be one school year after dd1 which means conceiving by November lol. But that's silly of me!! So we are basically ttc now. Obviously would help if periods returned to make it easier to track But given that you can conceive without having a period technically means that I could get pregnant now!?

What about you? Are you ebfing? Have your periods returned?

ThedementedPenguin · 05/06/2013 14:07

20122012 my ds is nearly 9 months old. Donor much older than yours, We have finally agreed to start TTC number 2.

Are you waiting for a specific time or going to start once periods return?
