Ooh, Greene, a fellow September TTCer - It's not long to go now! I'll be nice to have a TTC buddy

I'd not heard of SMEP in that term before, but I think we're looking at the same sort of method to try for a speedy result! I've read TCOYF and the Impatient woman's guide to getting pregnant, both are really informative. I've been temping since February now, so have a good idea what's going on. I also like the fact that we don't need to use condoms unless we're within a certain time period now, just makes me feel a bit more in control.

Now the time's getting a bit closer, it all seems so much more real and scary, but I suppose that's to be expected isn't it?

I've been having a wobbly day today, thinking "do I REALLY want a baby"?! or is it just social conditioning that's catching up with me.... I like my life of doing whatever I want whenever I want!

Hello please can I join?? I'm 27 ttc #1 with dp of 5 years in October we have a holiday to America planned. I was on previous thread and originally planned to ttc in march when I would be entitled to maternity pay .
However.... We had been umming and ahhhing over going to America as its something we both really wanted to do . So we decided to go for it as perhaps our last hol together with "no responsibilities " .
So we are going to start ttc while we are there very excited !! It all worked out for the best too as I've recently moved jobs which I'm much happier in !

DH knows the risk and I did say "are you sure"... but I know that if I did get pregnant now he wouldn't be happy about it, and I do want us both to be happy about our impeding first born! So may have to be more careful...

I got pg from withdrawal method happy - that was when we had our termination. Careful!

Been in Oz just over 2 years now, if we were back in the UK I think id be hassled on the kids front, although they know my DH well enough to realise he's not one for quick decisions!

I don't think it will be me that has an issues with dtd as I've always had a high sex drive, it will be convincing my DH!! I'm going to have to go all out with the sexy underwater to tempt him more than twice a week!

Still finding condoms a chore - not enjoying them at all. Actually didn't use today but withdrew instead... Once I get my af ill be able to track and make sure to avoid ovulation if we are going that route!

Sperm Meets Egg plan. Pretty full on (for me) schedule of DTD to ensure best chance of success! Involves ovulation tests etc. I am not sure I want it to be that involved. Will see how it goes! If you Google 'SMEP' there is loads about it online.

I am trying to get my head round how I can get myself in the mood for that much DTD!

I'm lucky I think that no one really asks us as we are over here and all our friends here don't have children. I do feel like no we are seriously thinking about it I want to tell everyone I know - because I'm excited. But I need to try and keep quiet really as you just don't know how long things are going to take! It is awkward being in that "getting ready" phase I'm finding - just want to get on with it now!

Yeah, I kind of want to tell my mum/sister/best friend but gonna try and keep my mouth shut :/ when they ask it's just so obvious we're lying though!

Dh wavered a lot over ttc dd1. Luckily we weren't married and noone was expecting us to announce pg so no pressure. With dd2 I was silly enough to tell everyone I wanted no 2 soon and it become a 'thing'.

I would go with not telling everyone.

This time round our parents know we are thinking of ttc next year but that is it.

I'm finding this stage a bit awkward, don't know about anyone else? People keep asking us when we're having babies since we've been married over a year, and I don't want to tell anyone when we're planning on starting in case it doesn't work out right away..
