Thanks Yorkie, I needed smacking away from Google! To be fair, I've looked after women with heartshaped uterus..es before and know they can have no problems - just upsetting to find something 'else' not as it should be if you know what I mean! Had my little self-indulgent weep and back on track again.

Boodle that's great, I'll have a wee squizz at it!

BoodIeBee · 11/05/2013 15:42

Boom, someone started a thread on bicornate uteruses/uteri here the other day. I remember because I hadn't actually heard of it before!

Hi Scone - I didn't acknolwedge you last night when I logged on to hat-tip Cherry, very rude of me, sorry! (And welcome!)

Goose - I hope FC appointment has gone OK. I'm back to counting down the days to my next one - it seems so far away at the moment.

yorkiebilb · 11/05/2013 15:31

P.s enjoyed the non pussy footing around suggestion to awkward ttc questions boom Good Yorkshire woman response!

yorkiebilb · 11/05/2013 15:28

boom so sorry to hear about you about your frustrating appt. Did they give you any suggestion of what your enlarged ovary might mean?

I think you need to step away from dr google or you will drive yourself mad. I've heard before with a bicornuate uterus they will monitor you during 2nd trimester, put a stitch in the opening to your cervix to minimise the risk if necessary and deliver the baby through cesarean if need be. These are all options for managing if there were any possible risks. If you wanted to why don't you ask on mumsnet about any other women who have been pregnant with a bicornuate uterus rather than scaring yourself silly on google? I know I would be the same in your situation but just trying to be your voice of reason.

MrsB00Mbastic · 11/05/2013 15:01

Well berries, back from my date with dildocam and feeling a bit rubbish. Apparently I have one normal looking ovary and one that's very oversized (21.7cm sq where under 10 cm sq is normal) with lots of follicles but not 'typically' pearl-necklace in appearance. And I also have a bicornuate uterus, which nobody has ever found before despite several scans - the sonographer had to go and get one of her colleagues for a second opinion and said it was pretty rare.

I'm a bit thrown really, I went in there hoping they'd find PCOS and came out with a 'maybe' for the pcos but also a totally new thing to worry about. I know bicornuate uterus isn't a definite fertility issue but Dr Google says it could increase my risk of another mc and my ability to carry a baby to term if I do get diffed (apparently increased risk of cervical incompetence and early labour). Got to wait until June 21 to discuss any of this with a real doc so will probably drive myself mental in the meantime.

Thank god we're going out with some childless friends for dinner and wine tonight!

Anyway. Will stop grumping now.

Yorkie yep, I'm still here - tried to move to London but my Yorkshire genes weren't having it so here I am again..

With the awkward comments, to be honest I just go for 'we're trying and it isn't happening'. I don't really do pussyfooting around! Maybe something along the lines of 'just because you did, not everybody has babies straight away even if they want to'? Or is that still a bit harsh?

Let us know how today goes Goosey!

And hello charming!

GooseyD · 11/05/2013 14:34

Thanks Yorkie. Can't believe the admin nightmare you're having - seriously, have they not even told you the results over the phone given the ridiculous delay getting them to the GP? Agree re email, surely its all on the system anyway, why the need for faxes?!

yorkiebilb · 11/05/2013 14:19

sorry posted too soon and then computer crashed.

Meant to say thanks thunder for your suggestions and loving your positivity - bring on your summer bfp!

yorkiebilb · 11/05/2013 14:04

Good luck today goosey

GooseyD · 11/05/2013 13:17

Morning Afternoon all!

Hi Scone - I've joined this thread recently too. Everyone so welcoming - thank you Berries. I chart in F and it gives me pre O temps below 98 and post O above 98 which I find clear on the chart. But it's harder to buy the F thermometres in the UK I think. Probably you get used to whichever one you go for. I'm in the dark ages and temp on paper, which isn't good if you want to share charts online of course...

Hi Cherry too. I've got a close friend who had situation like yours a couple of years ago, so I have an idea of how tough it is, but also saw her deal with it well despite the inevitable ups and downs, and it sounds like you are doing that too. I'm just about to start Clomid (I hope) and haven't had ovarian reserve, but I'm 38 so am wondering if I should ask for one.

Boom it's me with the FC appointment today, thanks for the good wishes. So Barking I'll ask all about Clomid dates obviously and report back. Not surprised you had 3 Wine, I probably would have had twice that! Glad you've managed to sleep it off though.

Berries do you cut down alcohol to 1 occasional glass throughout cycle or just post O? Reading how good you all are is making me worry I'm not doing my body any favours!!

Boom good luck with the dildocam, hope they find out what they need to this time!

Thundercatsarego · 11/05/2013 12:39

Yeah yorkie I'll be back in the next day or so no doubt. And I'm here now eh?! No offence to you my lovely friends as I miss keeping up when I'm away but just not having MN on speed dial does mean I can distract myself for longer.

Next levels check is mid-June. I expect they will be good by then seeing as I'm now in the 'normal' range and have had a 50% increase in meds. Full steam ahead for a summer bfp!

yorkie re insensitive comments, I would be tempted to find a way of alluding to the truth without sounding angry. Like -you should be a bit more sensitive with comments like that, you don't know who might be struggling or suffering from miscarriages.....

boom are you making Brew? Yes please!

yorkiebilb · 11/05/2013 12:17

fair enough thunder if you think being on here less would help but don't forgot to check in every now and then. When is your next review on your levels?

Yep I am furious Angry. They have a 3 day agreement with the docs to return results and it has now been a week and a half. I really don't know what to do as I don't want to piss the docs/fc off and it have any impact on how quickly we get referred etc. but I am so annoyed that I wish I could shout at them!

boom yep I'm a v proud yorkshire lady and love coming back up here to visit! I'm assuming you still live here?

okay any advice on how to deal with akward questions from nosy friends? I'm off out for a birthday meal for my friend in a few hours and last time I saw them all one of my male friends kept on making remarks about me ttc and how it will be my turn soon. As you can imagine him and his missus have just had a child no problem. Anyway, the nosy git is bound to ask me again today esp. as I'm not drinking at the moment and I'd love to come out with some great comment in response! Any idea?

MrsB00Mbastic · 11/05/2013 12:12

Ps Yorkie for some reason my skim-reading meant I missed your ongoing sperm-chasing saga. Shocking! although I'm not surprised Can you storm the hospital? Or alternatively go to the doctor and demand that they phone the hospital while you're there and request urgent repeat fax? How long has it been now?? Agree with thunder, time for a complaint!

thunder thanks for the zen!

Right, off to drink lots of tea. Nothing like having your full bladder pummelled of a Saturday afternoon!

CharmingCats · 11/05/2013 12:10

cherry sooooo pleased to see you. Was thinking of you this week, wondering how you were doing. So pleased diet is having a good effect. Am working up to eliminating too. Bloody awkward though! We're going t a couple of weddings next month, so it'll be very difficult, but I can do my best in the meantime. I've been readin up and am convinced that dietary changes will help with the pcos that I strongly suspect I have. It also sounds very positive about IVF options on the nhs. Im sending loads of good thoughts. Totally understand about the zen and not logging on. Do check in when you feel you can.
Good luck boom. Hope they find 'strings of pearls' of cysts and that you get a diagnosis.

Hello scone! Sounds as though you have my dream job! I'd love to run a cafe and make cakes. A few of us are teachers - people with good appetite for cake in my experience.
barking good on you for getting some sleep. Glad you've got the cottage to yourself and can escape. Don't feel bad for doing that as much as you both need. It's hard work being with other peoples' kids socially. Not so bad teaching them, I find....oddly.
blind hope you're enjoying the hols and got something nice organised for oh bday.
I have considered not logging on in the interest of reducing obsession, but I'd miss the support too much at this point. Thank you, berries. You are great!

Thundercatsarego · 11/05/2013 12:03

barking well done with both drinking the wine in the difficult evening, and then recovering from that evil hangover.

tally ooh that sounds fun- have a great night!

yorkie WTactualF? That is absolutely shocking. I'd be hopping too, and asking about their formal complaints procedure.

Thundercatsarego · 11/05/2013 11:59

Ah hi girls, good to see you all. Yeah I have got a bit more inner calm even though I'm outwardly a nightmare at the mo so I think I'll still be on here a bit less but will check in every now and then. Just trying to fill up my time with other distractions.

cherry im so impressed with you maintaining that diet. It's great that things are bowling along in terms of next steps too.

MrsB00Mbastic · 11/05/2013 11:05

Aaah Tally maybe that's it...I was sure someone said 'fc on Saturday' this week but might have just dreamt it! Hope you have a lovely time tonight, sounds fab!

Yorkie good choice of county to hail from

Cherry thanks! I'm not worried about the actual appointment, this will be my..er..fourth appointment with said dildocam. Just hoping it finds whatever it is it needs to find this time to get this show on the road! Anyone want to take bets on which way round my uterus is today? (It likes to change position apparently. Weird).

Tallyra · 11/05/2013 10:59

hi all. currently waiting for dh to get out of the bathroom so I can get ready to go out... we are going to Ipswich tonight to seen a dance group Prodijig. dog staying with my mum and we are staying with a second cousin I haven't seen much of since I was little - really looking forward to it! Grin

boom it might be me you are thinking of. My appointment is a month from today.

yorkiebilb · 11/05/2013 10:37

Morning all,

Currently up in Yorkshire visiting the old folks but thought I'd pop on to say hi to you all.

DH swimmers results saga still continues. Hospital have apparently now faxed results to doctors two days ago and they have not received them. DH and I are hopping mad as we have no idea what to do next. Why can't they email the bl00dy results to them?

Welcome scone to the mad house!

bunny hope you're feeling better?
thunder nice to see you again. Feeling a little bit calmer?
boom good luck with the dildocam this afternoon. Hope all goes well

barking I do not blame you in the slightest for turning to alcohol in that situation. I'm off to a cottage with a load of DH's friends and all their children next month and I'm already dreading it. Alcohol is the only way to survive me thinks!

Hello cherry Glad to hear things are moving relatively quickly for you.

cherrycoconut · 11/05/2013 10:14

Thanks B00Mbastic and good luck for dildocam. It was really not so bad at all for me; easier than a smear and more interesting if they let you look at the screen. They even gave me the print outs, though the irony of possessing a picture of a blank uterus sans baybee is not lost. Think of England!

cherrycoconut · 11/05/2013 10:08

We can be zen buddies then thunder good to see you too!

Thanks for the lovely responses berries, you guys are amazing!

Hello Scone and welcome. I would chart in C if I were you; I did a bit of temping before I realised it was quite so futile in my case. I chose F after reading Taking Care of your Fertility but pretty much everyone else here goes with the C.

Thanks for the recipes offer. Mmmmm tea and cake! My diet is wheat, gluten, dairy, corn, soy, refined sugar free and I can't have things like potato or bananas but I'm discovering there are good things to eat with a little creativity! Paleo and raw food sites are the best inspiration, coconut, raw cacao and nuts are my friends!

Glad you're getting on with the tea happy I'm also not sure it's doing me much good but persisting nonetheless! I think it's meant to stabilise female hormones. They advise sage oil for menopausal women to help with hot flushes. I'm also on ground flax which is meant to help estrogen production. The tastes OK though hey?

sconeoclock · 11/05/2013 10:06

Thanks barking have just downloaded app to iPad thingy!

I must get to work, cakes, scones and jam to make!

MrsB00Mbastic · 11/05/2013 09:56

Hi scone, welcome! I'm not a temper because I'm too forgetful and basically lazy but the rest of the berries are pretty fab at it!

Nice to see you cherry, glad you've got a clear plan and hooray for getting it all on the NHS! Fingers crossed for you. Keep popping in to see us now and then Smile

Hey thunder been wondering where you've been hiding! If you find any inner peace please would you come back and share it, I've been getting my crazy on this week...

Bunny bloody fb announcements. To be honest even though I've turned fb off, I still wonder how many pregnancy posts I'm missing so it's not as de-stressing as I'd like, I just dread missing the virtual announcement and then being confronted with a real-life bump instead!

Barking here, have an anti-hangover cup of Brew. Sorry it all got a bit much for you, I can understand how it would. Baby/child chat is hard to take without wine!

Psyching myself up for my date with dildocam this afternoon. Isn't someone at FC today? Sorry, my memory is letting me down but whoever it is, let us know how it goes..

barkingtreefrog · 11/05/2013 09:52

Thanks for that kitty I'm just hoping desperately that this cycle and the next are on the longer side so I don't end up at the fc just one day past when I could start the clomid!!

barkingtreefrog · 11/05/2013 09:49

I'm starting today again, HELLO everyone!!!! Grin Grin Grin Grin

scone sorry if I'm telling you what you already know but did you know there was/ have you got the fertility friends app on your phone? It sounded like you were using it on a desktop/laptop.
I chart in C as well.

thunder nice to see you, I kept thinking of going cold turkey for a while in an effort to stop obsessing (ha ha) but I failed. Clearly.

sconeoclock · 11/05/2013 08:47

Yep got fertility friend this month, been using a phone app before that.

Started using opks last month and realised I ovulate 2 days later than predicted so only have a 12 day lp not 14. Tbh I wasn't sure I was ovulating at all after depo hence the bbt charting this month!
Currently on day 8 this cycle.
