Come on ladies, this is the one! Time for some BFPs!

The smallprint- Berries have a strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers)

Well I would love to report to the berries that when you are actually preggo NHS doctors' surgeries suddenly become amazing places where everyone is competent & reasonable but today's experience does not bear that out. I had the last appointment of the day at 6.30 but the traffic was horrific so I ended up running late. DP was already there & I'd phoned him & told him where I was so he'd told them I was on my way. I got there 10 min late to be told the dr wouldn't see me as I was so late & I'd have to phone at 8am tmrw in order to make another appt. I explained to the receptionist why I was there & that on the phone they had said it was possible to go straight to midwife track. She says yes it is & then proceeds to write my details down so that she will call me. That is until DP pipes up about not forgetting to tell them I've moved house. When I tell the receptionist my new address she then says I am no longer in their catchment (despite the practice being closer to my new house than it was my old). They say they're not sure where the nearest practice would be that is accepting new patients. Cue me bursting into tears! I'm blaming the hormones. Anyway second reception woman takes pity on me & lets me stay on the books as I'm already registered. Seroiusly though if I hadn't cried I would now desperately be trying to find a practice to register me before I could do anything! Arrrrrgh. What part of this is a very stressful time do these people not get?!! Rant over!

sconeoclock · 14/05/2013 21:05

Evening all.
I am confused!
Overslept this morning big time, woke up at 8am, needed to be downstairs by 8.30 as cleaner was coming so I forgot to do my opk.

Did opk a few hours later clear blue and got a positive.

Today is CD11 last month I didn't get a positive until cd13.

Did another internet opk this eve and line was much fainter, prob a negative.

Does this mean I ovulated this afternoon?

If so and my leuteul phase stays the same as usual then I should get AF 2 days earlier than usual which would be odd as my cycles are always 25 days without exception.

My temp did drop a tiny bit this morning so guess I will have to see what my bbt is in the morning and maybe do another opk.

If I have ovulated today then I think we missed it this month.

DTD CD 5,6,7 & 9 but not yesterday or this morning. :0(

SidneyBristow · 14/05/2013 20:38

Yorkie I think the different SA variables can change from one test to the next, so it's possible that next week's tests could show something more positive, so hang in there! Brew

Hi foody! can't wait for the day that we can all toss out our sticks and our pots and relax into this whole 'being prego' thing!! Thanks til then I hope you all keep popping in to offer encouragement, or better yet any secrets that will help us all move on to the other thread!!

Foodylicious · 14/05/2013 20:27

Hi guys just popping in to see how you are doing, I see frog had the same idea.
happy re tests, hope this helps -www.tandurust.com/infertility/blood-tests-for-infertility.html

Have also banned myself from poas as scared the shit after myself when clearblue went from 3+ to 2-3 5 days later, have had a few probs so been to EPU and all ok, phew.
Good luck on all your upcoming appts guys!
and bajas have heard lots of people have found reflexology and/or acupuncture really helpful. certainly worth spending some quality time on yourself too!

yorkiebilb · 14/05/2013 19:15

Okay clarity obtained. His sperm count is really high and appearance is double the average but his motility isn't great - not enough % of swimmers in progressive moving forward category. The rest are going round in circles. HmmHe has to go for another retest next week. Did any of your DH/DP have to go for another retest and was there any change in the results?

happylass · 14/05/2013 17:41

Thanks Yorkie panicked a bit then as Dr Google saying they must be done on cd3! Ill be cd9 when I have them done anyway, so if it does turn out I need them on cd3 then ill have to wait for next cycle anyway. She said there were certain tests that had to be done so at least things are moving now.
Glad to hear you'll be getting some clarity on your DPs (reverse) swimmers!
Off for a power hour now - this weather is beyond depressing.

yorkiebilb · 14/05/2013 17:37

Hey happy I got told the same when I went for mine as I thought I'd have to have them done at cd3 as well but she said anytime! The other is thyroid tests.

I think it sounds pretty positive. i guess they have do a certain number of tests before they refer and all the tests will probably be repeated anyway and more once you get referred.

Yes boom thunder I've no idea how they work out whether DH's swimmers are going in the wrong direction either?! DH is speaking with doc again this afternoon and has a list of questions to ask that I've told him to ask

happylass · 14/05/2013 17:17

Just back from the GPs and got mixed feelings about how it went! Didn't start too well when her response to my story was "Errr this isn't really my area of expertise. Lets have a look in the book" Then spends 5 minutes thumbing aimlessly through her medical dictionary before abandoning me to go off to consult another GP. Upshot is I'm getting a full blood count done on Thursday along with 'hormone' test. It says LH FSH and TFT on the form?? Any ideas? I thought at least some of these were the cd3 tests but when I asked if they needed to be done at a specific time she said no, any time. Got another appointment for 2 weeks time to discuss the results and if all is well she's gonna refer me on then Confused

BlindKitty · 14/05/2013 16:57

barkinghow was the vets?

frog had to lol at you doing another poas before you're appointment as I bound not to when I finally get preggers hope it all went ok x

bajas 6.am finishes? Them were the days!

sid know what you mean about daily shagging. Even on holiday there are times when I just can't b arsed (yet still always deliver)

Bajas · 14/05/2013 16:09

Hi berries.

barking I agree with everyone else- go for girlie night out while dh away and make the most of it. Hope your dog is okay.

scone welcome Grin if I had your job I'd be the size of a house!

frog good to hear all is going well. Good luck with doctor today.

I was away on a girlie weekend and still recovering. Some day I have to realise that I can't do 6am bed times any more. As a result my chart is all over the place this month.

One of my friends who was there also had difficulty getting updiffed and eventually had twins through ivf. She said she thought reflexology really helped her and has given me the number of the therapist she used so might give it a go. Anyone any experience of it?

Currently cd12 and don't think I've ov yet. Dh away visiting his sister in England this week so am hoping I ov late after I fly over to join them at weekend.

SidneyBristow · 14/05/2013 14:04

Thanks frog GL at the dr's today, I bet it will feel really surreal for a while, can't wait to experience it myself!! Good for you for tossing your PIMPot! Think of all the space in your medicine cabinet you can now devote to more exciting things!

Barking your poor pooch, he's in good hands today and you should feel proud for getting him proper care as quickly as you did. He'll be fixed up in no time! About the concert, could you & the other GFs/DW's come along to London but have a girl's night out there? Would be something special still & you wouldn't be sat at home feeling sad.

Merk boo on cystitis; it's torture! Hope you've started meds & will get some relief today.

CD11 here, high on CBFM, shagging daily come hell or high water seriously romantic, I know

MrsB00Mbastic · 14/05/2013 12:24

Good on you Frog, positivity all the way! No more pimping for you! Sure some of us will be following in your trailblazing wake at some point, seems there are a few doctors handing out magic sweeties at the moment not mine though boo

We miss you too! Keep popping back to say hello, a diffed berry is still a berry! xx

Frogcatcher · 14/05/2013 11:54

Flowers for barking, barking's dog & merk & anyone else I missed who needs them on my v quick catch up. Miss you guys. Most of the grads (except Foody) are way ahead of me & there are a lot of youngsters, instadiffers & second (or more!) pregnancies on my Jan 2014 thread. Someone has to come & join me soon - who's up next to PIMP?

Even now I still can't quite believe it's happening & had to POAS on a Clear Blue digital yesterday to make sure I wasn't making it up before my drs appointment later today. It said the P word though & 2-3 weeks (from conception) which is exactly what I thought. I then took a big step & THREW AWAY MY PIMPING POT!!

Thundercatsarego · 14/05/2013 11:00

Hey yorkie! Yeah what does swimming the wrong bloody way mean?! And did you get any insensitive questions that you could bat down with your killer up-front answers?

boom take a brolly!

MrsB00Mbastic · 14/05/2013 09:37

Morning berries

barking your poor dog. Mine's a springer so I know how easily they get their spaniel ears caught in stuff! Hope you manage ok dropping him off at the vets despite the bloody hormones making everything harder. He'll be back before you know it. I'm with scone and thunder, find something really cool to do while they're off doing their boy thang. Maybe something nice and relaxing? We have a turkish bath up here and that's my go-to girls outing/treat with the added bonus that you're not allowed in if you're diffed so NO bumps anything like that near you?

Merks cystitis - boo! Loads of water for you!

Goosey I'm nowhere near getting to FC yet, the gp/gynae clinic have done bloods (FBC, thyroid function, progesterone, LH, FSH, testosterone), 3 dildocams (plus the one after mc), and I've got to have a hycosy and DH needs a jizz test. By which time hopefully it will be August and they'll let me see the fertility wizard!

Kitty bwaha at vet visit for not smiling! That is definitely something I would do!

scone berocca for shag week - excellent plan!

Yorkie swimming the wrong way? How on earth can they tell? At least they're swimming in one direction or another I suppose!

Right, off for belated birthday brunch for DH. Going to get soaked, it's belting down!

yorkiebilb · 14/05/2013 09:17

Hi thunder

Thundercatsarego · 14/05/2013 08:55

Morning all. I'm still hovering here.

barking so sorry about your woofer. I too get really upset when I have to drop any of my pets off anywhere. Especially the dogs :(

Totally agree with scone (hi scone by the way!), book something really fun for the same time.

sconeoclock · 14/05/2013 08:22

barking hugs, I have a dog too so know how awful it is when they are hurt.
Can you arrange a girlie night out with your friends the night of the gig?

barkingtreefrog · 14/05/2013 07:53

I need Berry power this morning. AF due today and face full of spots and bursting into tears for no good reason show she's definitely on her way today or tomorrow.
I am not looking forward to taking the dog to the vets and leaving him there this morning. Possibly the worst day of the month I could have to do this!!! Sad

Also, DP has upset me through no fault of his own. His mates bought him a ticket to see Green Day in London. I used to be a huge fan and am massively jealous. Also, for him to go to London to attend it means we will have to cut our half term holiday short Angry . It's all his uni friends and it's the birthday of one of them and another is back from Australia so it's a no brainer that he's going, just wish they'd told him earlier so I could have got a ticket as well, even if I dragged someone else along with me!! No idea whether it's a boys only thing, but if I find the rest of them are all taking wives and girlfriends and I've been forgotten about (I've only met them all a couple of times) I'm going to be even more pi55id off Angry .

So, that's my rant for the morning done. Can't wait for today to be over and AF to be here so I can stop being an emotional mess and get my HSG booked in!!

BlindKitty · 14/05/2013 02:57

oh barking you are clearly ready to be a mum! Look what a good mum you already are! My vets must think I'm some mind of cash 'cow' as I'm always taking her (itchy ears, not smiling etc). Although had to take her for an enema a few weeks ago as she was massively constipated!

boom well done with the exam

merks cystitis can be stress related hon x

Re Facebook, starting to miss the cat so curiosity got the better of me and I had to look at updiffed friends profile (who is looking after her). Every other post / pic is of my cat and how she loves the bump Sad. She's going to be very disappointed to come home to my empty tummy :-/

Bunnygirlie · 13/05/2013 23:16

Sorry barking cross posted, hope you pooch is ok, when we only have furry babies they are our life, I know how worried you must be! Hugs x

OP posts:
barkingtreefrog · 13/05/2013 23:02

DP thinks he did it this morning, he stuck his head under a mesh fence to retrieve his frisbie and must have caught his ear on it as he pulled his head out Sad .

Bunnygirlie · 13/05/2013 23:01

yorkie off to Spain for a week, may not be able to get wifi (or wiffy as my mate calls it) so don't leave without me!

Sideways swimmers?!? Well they do say men can't ask for directions!

happy I don't call it lying, I call it stretching the truth! My doc knew I'd been off the pill a year in feb so we started tests then but we didn't actually start TTC till June so we reach a year at the end of this monthSad

Hey merks sorry to hear you have the burn

OP posts:
barkingtreefrog · 13/05/2013 23:00

Bad evening Sad . Just after DP left the house at around 6 I noticed something on the dog's ear. Looked more closely and it was a massive gash, made my stomach heave just looking at it. He has really fluffy ears (collie x spaniel) so I hadn't noticed earlier. I got all upset and called DP who said leave it, it'll be fine. Was supposed to be going out for a run so picked up my mate and her dog (which I asked her to keep in the front of the car away from mine) and drove to the park we were running in via where DP was, and he came out to have a look. He still said 'see how it goes'. I was really worried. It was a proper hole, looked like he'd torn the top layer of skin (as in 5mm of it in thickness) and pulled a big hole in it, 10p piece size. I thought it would need stitches both to keep out the dirt and to close the hole. I ignored DP's advice and drove to the vet (it was on the way to the park anyway) with mate still in the car. I took the dog in and asked the vet nurse on reception what she thought, and she said she'd get a vet to have a look asap. .
Vet said yes definitely stitches, but he'd eaten too recently so had a couple of injections (antibiotics and pain killer) and she bathed the wound. Got to leave him at the vets first thing tomorrow morning as I can't drop him off at 11 as I'm in work Sad . Hate leaving him there to wait in a cage Sad . He'll have an anesthetic and stitches tomorrow lunchtime and I'll pick him up after work. He doesn't seem remotely fussed but I'm quite distressed about it Sad . Called my job share/deputy and she said she'd cover my register in the morning if I wasn't at school in time. She's also got a dog and no children so understands completely how much the dog means to me Smile .

yorkiebilb · 13/05/2013 22:10

I've now got images of DH's swimmers laying on a lilo drifting slowly sideways and laughing at me!
