Newbies very welcome provided they meet the strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers) and bring a bouquet of sausages when they join!

I have a question. as it's my first cycle temping, am I expecting my temp to go down on cd1 or before? I'm expecting af, and temp went Down to bang on coverline this morning but no af yet.

barkingtreefrog · 13/04/2013 10:03

CD27 here and my temp has finally gone up!! Which also means we only dtd once in the right window. But I was away for two of the days and have been full of a cold since, so I should be greatful we actually did it once given my total downer and giving up attitude this cycle!

So, looks like a 34+ day cycle. AF due next Saturday or later if my LP puts in a little effort and tries to stretch itself a little further

Expecting to get given more tests at the FC next wednesday but nothing to actually 'do' to help, so have ordered some vitamin B6 and will start taking it next cycle. Just so I feel like I'm doing something.

happylass · 13/04/2013 09:51

Morning berries. Welcome Poppy. If you don't already have a pot of choice for pimping I can highly recommend the little glass pots that come with the Gü desserts. They are just the right size and you get to eat a lovely pudding each time you need a replacement Smile.
Waiting for AF here, she should be along any minute now Sad One more cycle and I'm off to the docs to demand my referral! Good luck with the healthy eating Cherry going to try to eat a bit healthier this month too as really overdid it what with the choc fest that was Easter. On that note I'm off to the gym. Have a good day all!

cherrycoconut · 13/04/2013 09:47

Thanks guys and for the suggestions Poppy I can have fish sauce so feel a Thai curry coming on at some point!

Unfortunately no soy, alcohol, caffeine, dairy (except natural yoghurt), wheat, gluten, corn, pork, potatoes, white rice, lettuce, oranges, tangerines, grapes, melons strawberry, banana, refined sugar.

Then there are certain foods I have to eat a number of times a day/week for health benefits and I have to keep my calorie intake up as I'm at the bottom of my ideal weight.

Barking t'internet is proving tres useful.

BombasticPeanut · 13/04/2013 09:41

Cherry So glad you slept well, makes all the difference doesn't it! How about looking up paleo recipes, I think most of them would fit into your do's and don'ts and there are lots of good'uns online (DH eats paleo so I do a lot of googling for recipes). I'm attempting to get back on the healthy wagon myself so am writing down loads of ideas, going to do a mega shop on Mon (working all weekend, bummer) - love the smug feeling that you get when you go on a health kick and your trolley is full of green stuff. Nothing better than feeling godly at the checkout when other people are buying sausage rolls and cookies which would normally be me Grin

Just went back up to have a look at your food rules. Have to be nosy and ask - why specifically no pork? And why sage tea? Just interested!

Thanks everyone for the sympathy. Was just feeling ganged up on last night, flipping preggos everywhere. Have recovered now, onwards and upwards!

PoppySeedBun · 13/04/2013 09:20

Thanks barking! Thought that might be it Grin

cherry congratulations on the sleep! That must feel good. Good luck with the meal-planning. I find Asian recipes and sauces like soy sauce, fish sauce, mirin are great for when I'm trying to be super-food person: lots of flavour and little fat or anything else.

yorkie thanks - lots of great RL support. DH has been lovely, though its hit him hard too. My parents are coming to visit today. His parents being a bit difficult, but they are further away, so we don't need to deal with them too much.

barkingtreefrog · 13/04/2013 09:14

Pissing In My Pot!!!!
Too many of us are using the cheap opk sticks that you dip in the urine, so POAS (pissing on a stick) didn't work and Merk I think? came up with a better one Grin Grin .

Bet I've cross posted and someone has beaten me to it...

barkingtreefrog · 13/04/2013 09:10

Wow cherry that must have been a boost Smile . Good luck with the diet and coming up with tasty meals - is the t'interweb any help?

peanut that sounds awful. The last place you expect to be bombarded with pg women in numbers is a pub!!

yorkiebilb · 13/04/2013 09:06

Morning all!

Welcome to the thread poppy and v sorry to hear about your mc. Hope you've got lots of support around you in rl.

bomb I hope you're okay after the upset last night. I know exactly what you mean - you can prepare yourself for certain situations and feel okay about it if you expect it but the ones that get to me most are things that come out of the blue as I'm not prepared for it.

barking glad your DH spoke to the builders and you had a nice eve. They did give a crap explanation though!

sid and tally I reckon the only way to get what you want is to keep on hassling them until they want rid of you. I know it's not the same comparison but in customer service the ones who get dealt with first are the ones who shout and complain the loudest. Like someone else said on the thread these people aren't your friends so don't worry about offending them - it is there job and it is their responsibility to try and help you get the answers.

I had a very odd dream last night. I dreamt my boobs were really tender and I started getting excited that I was pg until I looked at them and saw they were just really bruised! WTF!! This ttc thing is screwing with my mind! Grin

PoppySeedBun · 13/04/2013 09:06

Aw, thanks everyone for all the kind words. Feels rather like we were moving square by square along a snakes and ladders board, suddenly found a ladder when the Clomid worked, and now we have come back down the snake again. So it's back to one square at a time :(

ERPC is the not-very-elegant Evacuation of Retained Products of Conception (miscarriage association are trying to get it referred to as Surgical management of miscarriage instead, as it sounds so awful!)
V. Short operation to get everything over with in my case, rather than waiting for natural process - I actually found it relatively untraumatic in itself.

In return, I'm going to have to ask - what's PIMPing??

Tallyra · 13/04/2013 09:03

Yay cherry!

cherrycoconut · 13/04/2013 08:58

Today = super diet Day 1 for me

I followed it as best I could yesterday with what we had in the house and I have to say I had the best nights sleep I've had in about three weeks. Slept from 11pm - 3am and was back to sleep within about an hour until 6am this morning. That, my friends, is a miracle!

Soo, just contemplating my breakfast options then off for a mega shop to stock up on health food extraordinaire... once I've got the looong exclusion list into my head and thought up some meals that DH will understand as edible that is! It also means I'm going to have to tackle the fridge defrost today but at least I feel I have the energy to go there today.

Tallyra · 13/04/2013 08:48

erpc is also known as d+c. it's where the doctors have to do what your body wouldn't when mc.

Tallyra · 13/04/2013 08:46

that's quite an.amazing procedure right there. Quite jealous - she's only 22!

cherrycoconut · 13/04/2013 08:42

Oh Sid how frustrating for you... we just seem to wait and wait some more through all of this. Meanwhile the whole structure of TTC is based on an age related time running out system that feels like it is galloping away without us. I feel like every time I step into a Dr's office I'm closer to the scrap heap of 'you're too late' and their eyebrows get higher with concern. I would definitely do as your DP says, see the neurology consultant and as soon as you have sign off get back in her office forgetting about the 4 month time frame.

Tally argh to GP's but hopefully all you need is a foot in the door at the FC and then you can take it from there to get your worries understood properly. Let it go and try to look forward hun.

Welcome Poppy so sorry to hear your news but glad you're bearing up. Sure its totally obvious but can I ask what a ERPC is please

Peanut sorry the preggo ones got you where it hurts just when you had your guard down. Hope you're feeling more chipper this morning.

Merkin I think it was Cats contemplating the new job. Sounds exciting Cats I'd go for it - you only live once and perhaps a new challenge would be just the thing to take your mind of this whole lark. With any luck it may also magnificently herald the superior law of sod for guaranteed upduffedness. I say go for it. :)

BombasticPeanut · 13/04/2013 08:30

Oh rubbish. Sorry puppy Sad

PuppyMummy · 13/04/2013 08:28

morning all. as predicted cd1 here today. cycle 16. lovely!
and last proper day of holiday. pah

BombasticPeanut · 13/04/2013 08:16

Obviously hoping it never gets to this point for any of us! But isn't this amazing? (excuse Daily Fail source...) Womb transplant pregnancy

BombasticPeanut · 13/04/2013 07:22

Morning berries

Poppy hello, welcome to the pity sofa. Loads of room Smile. So sorry about your MC, I had mmc back in Aug and just now getting (maybe, hopefully) pcos diagnosis, it's crappy so big hugs. Don't worry about the acronyms, just ask and they'll start to make sense - when you start using them in real life you need to worry (anyone else telling the docs about when they dee-tee-dee?)

Barking can't believe those bloody builders! The cheek! I'd hide the kettle at the very least, no tea = no toilet trips in muddy boots + revenge.

Sid sorry about your crappy doc's trip. So frustrating, I'd just keep making appointments every week until she gives in.

Bwahaha Merk I appreciated your strip, even if I was at work at the time..

Tally definitely just keep beating them round the head with what you want. Eventually they will give it to you when it's easier than continually saying no.

Frog bit late now but sorry about your childcentric conversation last night Sad

Got a bit upset at work last night for the first time - and not actually midwhiffy work but moonlighting at a pub to pay bills while at uni. About five zillion pregnant women came in and they were all doing the contented-bump-rub and ordering orange juice and asking if there was blue cheese in salads..and then I ran to the kitchen and cried like a massive numpty in front of the chef! Doesn't help being mid-AF hormonal at the moment. Still felt a bit of a plonker when I'd calmed down. For some reason at the hospital I can turn off the reaction because it's 'business' and I expect it, but in any other walk of life I'm emotionally mown down by a bump Sad

Right, off to walk the dog to cheer me up. She had a haircut yesterday and looks like a (slightly podgy) showdog Grin

barkingtreefrog · 13/04/2013 00:05

Rant away frog that's what we're here for, to shout out all the things we can't say to people in RL but really want to...
And it makes me feel more normal when I listen to all you berries ranting and recognise the same rants I'm having silently at people who claim to understand but really, clearly don't.
Hope you get it all out before you get home and get a good nights sleep.

Night night all.

Tallyra · 12/04/2013 23:55

hugs frog Xxxxx
night night all. phone about to die...

Frogcatcher · 12/04/2013 23:53

Welcome poppy. Sounds like a really tough week so pls share as much or as little as you need to.
Sorry if the typing goes awry but am on the train home [hic] after a few moderate drinks with friends. Trouble with being 36 is that all anyone ever talks about is their kids & they all assume I'm not trying or I'd be updiffed by now. I just leave wanting to scream that I am fuckin' trying ok so pls change the subject as we can't all be instadiffers & a step son is not the same & does not mean I am part of your club! Sorry for rant but I am going to either cry or turn on one poor friend who happens to say the wrong thing one day if I don't get to let it out elsewhere!

barkingtreefrog · 12/04/2013 23:52

Hello poppy sorry to hear your recent sad news Sad . Welcome to the sofa though Smile .

sid the waiting is a ball ache Angry .
tally that sounds rubbish, how unhelpful. Angry

I got back from the park and DP had spoken to the builders, who apologised as I was walking back out again to go to tescos. But they said 'we did try to keep the door shut' at which point I wanted to scream 'no you bloody didn't, and that had nothing to do with the mud you've trodden up the stairs' but I restrained myself and kept walking. By the time I got back from tescos they had gone and DP had done a sterling job cleaning up. We took flowers round to both neighbours as their windows, bins and back yards were all covered in brick dust and they were very nice about it after DP asked if he could hose them all down (the back yards and bins, not the neighbours).

Managed to get the curry cooked and had a lovely evening with friends. Grin

No lesson plans done though. Why do I do this to myself every holiday?! There goes my weekend!! Hmm

Pipbin · 12/04/2013 23:35

Welcome Poppy we are a friendly bunch. Join us on the sofa of self pity.

Bunnygirlie · 12/04/2013 23:20
