Newbies very welcome provided they meet the strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers) and bring a bouquet of sausages when they join!

Shameless self promotion
If you want to see some of the things I get up to fabric wise, look at soliloquilt.blogspot.co.uk
Haven't posted since half term though. Need to put some more up v soon.

BlindKitty · 14/04/2013 19:07

Bunny - if its any consolation, I was asked to be GOD MOTHER recently! To add insult to injury, the baby was conceived on the way home from MY wedding in a layby after us talking about starting to ttc!!!! She reckoned it was only fair as he was practically my idea lol!!!! Classic instidiffers!!!!

Oh and btw, I'm a dietitian if you want to try the FODMAP diet. Its meant to have great results.

Merkin I took the plunge and de-nurseryfied the nursery (it was already beautifully 'mamas and papas style' decorated when we moved in. Felt quite empowered at first but now I just feel a little sad Sad

Waves at thundercats

Bunnygirlie · 14/04/2013 19:02

thunder they are macaroons! I am slightly obsessed!

boodle it was a bad bunny, it had to be punished Wink

cats trying to eat healthily during the week but I do cave in at the weekend!

cherry yep I've found (and been told) that certain foods are tougher to digest, pork being one of them, green peppers is another, I have found the foods that don't like me now and I know I will suffer if I eat lots of spuds or white bread!

Tally you are so crafty, I am considering making some birthday bunting for hubby next month, quite daring for me!

I'm having to complete an application form by hand because the formatting of the electronic version is so bad things keep falling out of boxes and out of sight entirely. so annoying.

barkingtreefrog · 14/04/2013 18:53

Tallyra not good Shock. Hate it when you're caught out.

Merkin I'll be painting later this week, when the bathroom is finally finished. Don't ask. You know those quick jobs? Hahahahahaha

barkingtreefrog · 14/04/2013 18:51

I give up. 6 hours later I have done as much planning as I am likely to. It's not finished, but that's what happens when you realise on a Sunday that you haven't brought home the music book you need, the french folder, the science topic overview... sigh. I hate not doing it properly, especially when I have to email the plans to my line manager as she shares Y3 with me!! Oops. Oh well.

I can now start on the job application form I need to rewrite for DP..... He's basically put in bullet points what he's done and I now need to word it better for him. It's the general routine for every application he's put in since we've been together! He's going for leadership in the school he's already working in.

I've got similar work dilemmas to you charming. Don't know whether to make any changes now and then regret it if I finally become upduffed. It's all a bit tricky. I don't want to move schools, but there are potential options when pg colleague goes on maternity. However, it would be a nightmare if I took it over and then had to leave on maternity myself... Also, if I was to go on maternity, I'd probably want to return to my current role if I had a baby at home, and it might have then been filled and not available... If only I could plan these things like those damned instadiffers!!! I don't want to mess school around. But I don't really want to put my cards on the table and tell them I'm trying and therefore be able to talk all this through with them. Confused

Tallyra · 14/04/2013 18:47

Yes, lots of posts to catch up with. Might leave it as I've just got back from a day out looking at quilts and fabric and although it was brilliant, my eyes are so tired I might not want to use my phone much more today. However, (tmi, sorry) after rejoicing at saving my underwear this morning, I am pissed off that af decided to go from light to HEAVY, tampax failed and I hadn't got a pad on. It's SO unpleasent being out in public with horrible pants on. I almost took them off and threw them away but I'm not comfortable with going commando either. Ugh. Going to run a bath now. See you all later.

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/04/2013 18:42

Ooh let me know what happens with the imperial.
Bedroom painting not done as still not agreed on a colour. We have a big Victorian flat so huge rooms, vv high ceilings, picture rails, cornicing, foot high skirting boards, massive bay windows etc. so we can get away with colour... We learnt out lesson when painting the front room grey, picked one because we were scared the others were too dark but it just got lost In the size of the room, we definitely need bold shades or white! So we're looking at some 'Victorian' blue shades but can't agree. In fact I think I might now have gone off blue altogether.
Off out tonight to celebrate with a mate who has run a marathon today, she can finally have a drink (just when I can't!)

Frogcatcher · 14/04/2013 18:24

Evening all. A lot of posting so I don't think I can even try to keep up! My DP also drinks more than he should & I'm trying to tactfully suggest he should drink less. I did point out yesterday that SS was conceived 9 years ago & thinks could have changed since then esp he's now over 40. He laughed it off a bit but I think he has taken it on board as he said he would give it a rest in the week.
SS is causing a lot of stress with his behaviour right now so he's not sleeping so well which doesn't help. Mind you we got up at 5.30am this morning to do a car boot sale. House is less cluttered though which is great.
On the food thing there is a recipe book for a diet called Lean & Clean which sounds like similar principles. I did it once & it did make me feel more energised.

cherrycoconut · 14/04/2013 18:24

Did you get your bedroom painted Merk? We live in magnolia land for now so am really looking forward to getting a bit more creative with colour when renovation is finished and we've got time. What are the options? Can I live out my decorating cravings altruistically through you in the meantime?!

Yorkie I really feel for you, my DH is also a drinker and it does my head in TBH. He doesn't get hammered, just steadily puts away more than I think is healthy for him at the rate of a couple of large glasses a night. He knows I disapprove; if we fall out, it's usually about that. We're currently awaiting his SA results so we'll see. Have bookmarked the article in prep...

All the more frustrating just now of course when I can't have a drop and he is carrying on as normal.

CharmingCats · 14/04/2013 18:11

have a look at the FODMAP diet, if you haven't already cherry and bunny, it tallies with stuff already mentioned and makes sense with regards to digestion.

cherrycoconut · 14/04/2013 18:08

lol at Boodle and 'one of your own'! A christening may be enough to drive a bunny to cannibalism!

Enjoy it Bunny was v interested to hear of your exclusion foods too for IBS. Lots of overlap; they must be hard foods to digest.

Belated happy birthday for yesterday cats cheers for the cake, free from and everything mmm cake

CharmingCats · 14/04/2013 18:03

Whoop whoop! Well done, bunny! You do deserve to be kind to yourself after the Christening. I felt Envy when listening to a waitress at our carvery today talking about her pg. ffs!

barking, try not to feel guilty about not having done planning before now. One thing that used to work for me and I will do again if I manage to get another teaching job is to make a conscious decision to do work at the end of the holiday/weekend and to enjoy the rest of it without attempting to do work or feel guilty. Try it over the bank hols. Have Saturday and Sunday off and ring fence 4 hours on Monday to get work done. I do feel your pain Flowers

merks I have emailed Imperial - thanks for pointing that out. FWIW, I think getting tests done privately may help set your mind at ease and could help you conceive (obvs hoping that this one is sticky and you won't need it). I was thinking the same thing, and there's a clinic very close to me that does a couple's package for about £500. I ended up going elsewhere for the amenorrhoea, but would look into it again in a few months time if still not diffed. The only thing that worries me about it, aside from the money, is that if they find an issue, are you then obliged to have and pay for treatment with them or can you slot back into the NHS, without having to wait for initial referral? It feels like it could be a slippery slope....

Just had a conversation with DH about perhaps stopping ttc for a while in order for me to get a new job. He thinks we should carry on and cross any recruitment related issues if they arise. He said that it's obviously not going to be straight-forward for us to conceive, otherwise it would have happened by now. So, he does get it! Quite impressed. He refers to his instadiffing mates as people that it happened to on the 'first squirt'. He knows a few.

Grin bunny

Did you make them biscuity wotsamajigs? (can't remember their name)

Bunnygirlie · 14/04/2013 17:42

I did it, I bashed the bunnies brains in with a rolling pin Grin see my photo lol

CatsCantFlyFast · 14/04/2013 16:58

My next question was going to be which tests... The place I looked at had loads of stuff I've never even heard of. The standard seems to be LH, FSH, E2(?),AMH. Then they had extras such as other bloods, ultrasound, lap and dye etc. what's the thoughts?

Thundercatsarego · 14/04/2013 16:37

Ps I have cheese and Wine shhhhh

Thundercatsarego · 14/04/2013 16:30

Yummmmmm those round red Lindt chocolates- I love them.

I'm crampy today. Annoying 6-7 day before af comes. bunny well done for getting through it- time for some serious indulgence? I quite like having the house to myself sometimes- I watch all kinds of crap tv and cuddle the dog on the sofa etc.

I think the fertility trial is a great idea!

Bunnygirlie · 14/04/2013 16:25

I'll eat most choc to be fair, not a dairy milk fan though unless it's egg shaped!!!

Cycle 11 here, but came off pill 14 months ago so that's how long we have been TTC according to my docs Wink so just started the basic tests, I'm gonna see what blood tests and jizz test results are and I'd be tempted to go private too. What tests will you go for merk?

OP posts:
CatsCantFlyFast · 14/04/2013 16:10

Bunny be glad to know your Lindt is safe from me, I only like Cadbury!
I'm on CD10 (32 - 35 day cycles) so nearly a year, tho we were NTNP before then. The tests weren't as expensive as I was thinking privately so I may 'treat' myself. My weird tummy churning pains have just returned as per last month!

barkingtreefrog · 14/04/2013 16:07

I'm trying to improve my diet Bunny and we're eating lots of fish and protein and I haven't actually had chocolate for two weeks!!! I don't think I have anyway, unless you count the chocolate chips in the mint choc chip ice cream I had for dessert on Friday which would be unfair I've been eating a lot of cheese though as we were given a massive block of very tasty cheddar left over from the wedding last weekend and I don't think that's a good thing....

I think I want chocolate now.

And I've just realised it's raining and my washing that was probably just about dry 5 minutes ago is still outside. Marvelous.

barkingtreefrog · 14/04/2013 16:03

Getting nowhere fast with the lesson planning, having another break...

How long have you been ttc Merkin? As soon as it's a year they can't fob you off, you shouldn't feel uncomfortable. On the other hand if it won't stretch you to go private you'd get answers far quicker!

Fx you won't even need to think about it Smile.

Bunnygirlie · 14/04/2013 16:02

(slumps onto sofa) Thanks merks I am thinking about bashing a Lindt bunnies head in and scoffing the lot with a cuppa in a min!

OP posts:
CatsCantFlyFast · 14/04/2013 15:41

Yorkie I'm going to wait a week to see if AF arrives.have also decided that if AF arrives I may spend the £ to go for a full set of private tests. I'm v lucky to have the money to make this an option, as for some reason I am very uncomfortable going to the doc to ask for this, potentially because I expect to be fobbed off.
Bunny, plenty of room on the sofa. Do you need cake?
