Newbies very welcome provided they meet the strict entrance criteria (TTC #1, over 30, TTC for 3+months, must have a special pot, NO instadiffers) and bring a bouquet of sausages when they join!

barking, that has killed me! The bit about "My plentiful fertile cervical fluid directs healthy sperm to swim freely through my cervix" may also have slightly ruined dtd later as I will be snorting with laughter. Partner may not appreciate this Grin.

I'm so sorry merkin, you poor thing. Which tests will you get done?

Hugs to tallyra, bunny, trying and pipbin (although don't be jealous of seaweed, because it is grim and smells and my brothers used to throw it at me for fun).

Another ultrasound today to see how my follicles are doing. I don't usually OV until CD13 at the earliest (which is tomorrow), but hopefully they will still be able to see something useful. Yesterday's HSG was fine, and everything there is pretty standard apparently (although she said my uterus is quite high up, which I have chosen to interpret as her saying I have a bucket for a fanny) Hmm

Bunnygirlie · 16/04/2013 23:06

Pah! That should read my sister!

Oh no barking is that a new NCiS, I have some taped but not sure I wanna watch that one! LOL at chanting and good luck for tomorrow!

Oh pip that is bad, might even beat being jealous of the moon and sheep!

Had my own grrrrrr moment today, my sits told me her uni friend is pg, due sept, did my usual it's not fair, she's not married, she's only 29, blah blah blah Sad

Ha ha barking that is v funny!

Good luck at the fc tomorrow!

barkingtreefrog · 16/04/2013 22:24

Hmm. Been googling. How about we try chanting this and thinking positively. Grin

Apparently this idea is taken from 'hypnofertility'

First relax in a quiet place and take a few deep breaths. On each exhale, breath out all the tension in your body. When relaxed you work through the following visualisation:

It is easy for me to get pregnant. I will fall pregnant at my next ovulation. My plentiful fertile cervical fluid directs healthy sperm to swim freely through my cervix. Once they have swum through they easily find my fallopian tubes and make their way through, eagerly awaiting the arival of my egg.

My oestrogen levels soar and I easily release a perfect and healthy egg. This is swept up into my fallopian tube where it is greeted by lots of healthy sperm. A single, perfect and healthy sperm penetrates the egg and successfuly fertilises it (see sparks flying and fireworks going off!).

The fertilised egg makes its way freely down the falopian tube to the uterus. It reaches the uterus and nestles itself cosily into the thick lining of the uterine wall. Here, it attaches itself and my body starts producing the pregnancy hormone HCG.

The placenta develops and takes over providing nourishment for my baby. As the baby grows inside me, my tummy grows and I have a happy and healthy pregnancy. I go on to have a safe and stressfree home waterbirth and finally hold my perfect and healthy baby in my arms

Part of me wants to with derision and roll around laughing, the other half thinks 'well, it can't hurt?!' Oh dear, into desperate measures here. I think I'm just giddy with reeling from the big bumps and overly happy pregnant women and stupid wonderful mummy car stickers and trying not to get worked up in advance about the fertility clinic appointment which is tomorrow!!!

Anyway, bedtime for me. I need to sleep. Or at least calm down. Someone slap me with a sausage quick!!

BlindKitty · 16/04/2013 22:14

thundercats re exercise, its actually its easier in the morning than after work. When I?ve finished work, all I can think of is food!

Re FODMAP, we?re taught to advise to still have a reasonably balanced diet but excluding the ?riskier? foods. Can go through it properly at some point if you like. Should say its not my speciality (afraid that?s tube feeding so guessing that?s not of as much interest lol).

Re the dreaded 2ww, I always get anxious (and negative towards the end). Wish I had some words of wisdom but I?ll be just as bad in a fortnight!

yorkie I ALWAYS wear them under my gym pants. I?m 33 ffs, not 18 haha.

Re free IVF, they do that at the Priory in Brum, I just assumed they wouldn?t want me eggs lol

merkin sending positive thoughts. Please god let there be a proper line tomorrow

barking the berries would only let you off if you slashed her tyres as well?

bombastic please check which tests they were!

Pipbin · 16/04/2013 22:01

Hello ladies. Just catching up on the last couple of days. Sorry to hear its not looking good Merk

I did the couch to 5k programme about a year ago and can now run 5k with, not ease, but without too much stress. I used the iPhone app.

New low today, jealous of seaweed! There was a program about rock pools and they showed the seaweed eggs being released into the sea and then meeting seaweed sperm.

barkingtreefrog · 16/04/2013 21:52

Sorry cats, didn't reply to your earlier post. Your teacher sounds like a complete waste of space (can you tell I'm not in sympathetic mood tonight?!)
I'd go straight to the deputy and put your concerns to her. You've tried. He's not listened. He obviously has no idea how utterly incompetent he is and it's not fair on you, the kids, or the teachers that have to plug the gaps and pick up the pieces after him. Management may not do anything helpful, but you'll have done your bit and it's their problem then.

And get that application form in, you know you could do better than that!

barkingtreefrog · 16/04/2013 21:45

Right there with you Tallyra. I'm watching NCIS. It's about bloody marines and terrorism and murders. So I wasn't expecting a pregnant marine giving birth on Christmas Eve with Gibbs helping at the birth. Wtf?!?!
Am I not safe anywhere doing anything?!?!

Trying123 · 16/04/2013 21:42

Oooh, hugs back to you tally hope you have a less pants day tomorrow x x

Tallyra · 16/04/2013 21:35

Sorry, I'm not really in suppportive mode tonight. But you are all great, fingers crossed or hugs for everyone. xxx

Tallyra · 16/04/2013 21:30

Oh bloody hell. I was feeling a bit fragile so I thought I'd just go upstairs and sew, so I put the computer on to watch iplayer. I thought I'd avoid obem type shows and went for a history one. ffs. stupid idea. It's all about how kings and queens are ill and talking about a queen who had 17 pregs, 12 of the miscarriages and none of the rest lived past 12 years old. GAAAAAAH

yorkiebilb · 16/04/2013 21:30

cats sounds like your teacher isn't quite grasping your subtle approach so maybe the direct approach would work better.

barking the fertility clinic pay people who are just making a 'altruistic' egg donation. I did some research and the place has had some good comments on mumsnet. Sorry to hear you were so upset at work about your pg colleague and well done for holding it together so well.

merkin How frustrating you are having to deal with this confusion yet again. I definitely think you need to push to get some tests done and try and get to the bottom of it. I'm not sure what tests you need to push for but hopefully some of the others will be able to help. It sounds like you have no problem with the sperm meets egg bit so maybe that could narrow down what tests you should be having done?

smoothas I always get twinges/cramps between ovulation and af. Not every day though. I tend to get an increase in cramps a few days before af is due which is a sure sign that she is on her way. I can't remember whether I did the month I got pg (which was a mc) though and I really wish that I did so I would know whether to get my hopes up or not.

I've very excited about the acupuncture thing. I'm not naively thinking it's going to suddenly make me pregnant but if it can help calm me and my anxiety ridden brain a bit then it has got to be worth it.

Trying123 · 16/04/2013 21:06

See I'm not the only one expecting AF this thurs/friday! have had not PMT or sore boobs this month, but didn't last month either. sooo frustrating not being bale to rely on your own body to tell you what is going on. Sorry you having such a rough time merk, hugs x
thanks bunny for the list i am not Confused anymore.
and barking totaly feel your pain - things have lessened lately, but 13 freinds/family have had babies in last 10 months. not easy Envy x x

BombasticPeanut · 16/04/2013 20:28

Bah barking. Never good when you're pootling along managing well and suddenly you get stealth-bumped. Might I suggest Wine and Biscuit or is that not currently an option?

Have a hug sorry to hear it's not looking good this cycle Sad. It's a pretty cruel trick your body's playing on you. Which blood tests does the private consultant offer? I have a friend who went through private IVF and I remember her saying there are some tests that the NHS didn't even bother with and that she'd never have her daughter now if she'd not had them privately, but I can't remember the name of them...I'll check for you.

charming your colleague sounds like a plonker. Here's hoping your chats can knock some sense into him although it sounds like a lost cause

yorkie I have acu and she's said she won't do any harm if there's an unexpected pregnancy. I love her, my second session was today and she was so positive, she gives me hope where the doctors only give me utter black despair the brush-off. (Also she shares my opinion that GPs are rubbish at dealing sensitively with ttc-ers). I'm going back on Fri, because she's determined to stimulate ov before cd35 this time! Cd6 at the mo, so here's hoping for a normal cycle...!

Am feeling godly because I've just been for a waddle run with the dog. Hopefully it will offset the bag of depression-fudge I ate last night Grin Had a heart-to-heart with DH last night about how upset I am about the whole ttc thing, and ended up having a really good chat about how it's all tied up with my weight and eating issues as well, in as much as I feel guilty about not being perfect with regards to wine/puddings/stuff I shouldn't be eating when ttc, and it makes me feel like it's my fault we're not getting knocked up because I should just be drinking spinach juice and doing tai chi. Long and short of it, he's bloody marvellous, made me feel a lot better and is helping me train for the 10k I overoptimistically signed up for next month. So feeling good! Off to gobble homemade chilli and read my new Zita West 'how to get knocked up' handbook Smile

Thundercatsarego · 16/04/2013 20:18

No it's not over til she comes. The month I got my bfp (ended in mc) I had no symptoms until 2 days before af due when my boobs got so sore. Had to clutch myself to walk down stairs!

Smoothas · 16/04/2013 20:14

Thanks Thunder

I am forever googling symptoms for BFP and every month I think I have a new one. I remember reading once that needing the toilet regularly was a symptom so I spent the next few days downing litres of water trying to convince myself that my increased trips to the toilet were because I was pregnant and not just because I was drinking a ridiculous amount.

Sadly the only symptom I have this month are the mild twinges and they are always what I link to AF. That said, I guess it is not over until she reliably turns up on CD26.

Thundercatsarego · 16/04/2013 19:48

Ouch barking I hope you have some indulgence this evening after being whacked from a height too many times today.

merkin what do you think is actually going on there (if of course this isn't your bfp? Cps? it's bizarre. Sorry I don't know about tests as I failed the blood bit but I'm sure someone else will have some wisdom.

smooth yeah I get twinges between ov and af and they don't seem to mean imminent af arrival if that makes you feel any better. Doesn't stop me googling cramps plus bfp too though!

Smoothas · 16/04/2013 19:43

Sorry Merkin I think we crossed posts. Sorry to hear that there is no line today. i think you are wise to wait now and see if AF shows. i have my fingers crossed that it won't though!

Smoothas · 16/04/2013 19:40

Sorry to hear that you had a tough day Barking. I definitely have days when I am fine with the situation and other days when I just want to hide from everyone and cry.

I have everything crossed for you Merkin that this is a sticky one.

Technically I am in the 2ww (or in my instance the 8 day wait). AF is due Friday but I did ovulate a bit later than normal so really hoping that it doesn't turn up before Sunday. My LP is already short enough Sad

Unfortunately been having mild twinges for the past three days and seem to be getting worse so feel AF will be arriving Friday if not earlier. Does anyone else get mild twinges between OV and AF?

As DH was away when I was meant to OV this month, I really thought in my crazy TTC mind that it was meant to be my month when OV was delayed and we could DTD at the right time. Sadly I don't think it is going to be the case.

I think I fall into the same category as you Yorkie. I won't test until AF is late. I did in the first few months but found looking at blank tests so much harder than AF arriving.

CatsCantFlyFast · 16/04/2013 19:30

Evening. My last boring pee stick update for this cycle. No lines this eve, and this mornings squinter line now looks grey like and evap. Think I'm out. Tomorrow I will book tests and no more pimping for me as no point. Would like opinions of which first set of tests I should be aiming for (and remember I get charged a consultant charge each visit so the more tests I cram in per consultation the cheaper it is!)
Off to do some tidying etc then will be back later to catch up. Hope you've all had a good day devoid of pregnant ladies

barkingtreefrog · 16/04/2013 19:12

I imagine they can't 'buy' eggs from women, yet they can charge those who need them, so they probably off set the cost of the IVF? Only a theory!

I had a bad moment today. I've mentioned before that pg colleague doesn't get to me as much as she might as her size means it's not obvious she's pg. Not any more Sad . She's now 6 months and the bump is obvious, but the first time I saw it was when she stood up at the back of assembly. I was stood at the front, leading the assembly, and it totally hit me Sad . Really wasn't prepared for it and standing in front of 240 children and all the teachers is not the best time to start crying. No idea how I carried on cheerfully when I wanted to run to the toilets and bawl my eyes out. I suppose 11 years of teaching has given me enough experience to take a deep breathe and put on that happy face no matter how you feel inside.

And then I went to tescos and walked past a stupid car sticker saying 'best mum in the world on board'. I'd like to think a jury of berries would let me off if I had smashed the car window in.... Angry

Thundercatsarego · 16/04/2013 19:06

Wow that's one hell of an offer yorkie. I wonder how many eggs they take.

charming well done with your patience with that twat colleague.

yorkiebilb · 16/04/2013 17:54

sorry I meant free IVF in exchange for egg donations. It sounds too good to be true doesn't it?

yorkiebilb · 16/04/2013 17:51

cats thanks for that. I have no idea about acupuncture or what to expect!

For all you ladies 35 yrs and under going for IVF there is a clinic advertising in the London metro offering free IVF treatment for egg donations. The clinic is called lister fertility clinic if you want to research it. Quote reference: Metro Life I've no idea how good the clinic is just thought I'd flag it up to anyone interested.
