Welcome aboard ladies (though obviously sorry you have to be here). We're a friendly bunch so come in and plump up a cushion for POAS Fridays and lots of posifrickingtivity. With a few (gentle) fish slaps thrown in for good measure.

Big hug to Jbrd, it is quite distressing to know that you are completely empty after a miscarriage, but at least you are physically healing and hopefully will find yourself in a good mental place soon about starting again. I too feel like I'm getting on a bit (38 next month and no children yet) so totally understand the conflicting emotions you are experiencing. From reading earlier posts it sounds like there are lots of us at a similar age, so can do lots of sympathetic hand-holding.

Saggy that's just rubbish for you. I hope this limbo position you are in resolves itself soon.

Bodicea · 26/04/2013 18:27

Congratulations Santa xx fab news.

Saggy all hope is not lost yet. I think the poas is v hit and miss. Keeping fingers crossed for you xxxx

OneLittleToddleTerror · 26/04/2013 16:55

I just bought myself a heart rate monitors on ebay. Why are they so cheap? It costs only £5.95 with free postage. I'm hoping it can tell me more accurately how many calories I've burned while exercising. Hopefully I didn't just purchased a piece of junk!

Emki · 26/04/2013 12:46

Saggy thinking of you and fingers crossed its just too early to test

OLTT and jbrd I feel the same - waiting for AF still after erpc and thinking its due end of next week - that will be 10 weeks!!! Anyway I'm petrified of ttc again - the emotional roller coaster really takes it toll - I'm also 38 and worried it will take a long term

I'm going to go for a run / walk this weekend and some yoga or Pilates to lift my mood and I'm also so bloated - hoping that's mostly to do with the fact that I've had to wait for AF and not just to do with all comfort eating I've been doing.... X

Congrats Santa! X

OneLittleToddleTerror · 26/04/2013 11:58

jbrd it's definitely a roller coaster for me too. I already felt I couldn't afford to lose anytime at 38 (turning 39 later this year). I can't help but think it would be easier to take if I was 28. But I know I'm being stupid and I probably find it just as hard emotionally if I were 10 years younger.

The first thing I made my mind up when I mc was to exercise again. I felt horrible I couldn't fit into my jeans by week 9/10. I know I was still in them at nearly week 20 last time. I know it's good for me to keep exercising when pg, and that you shouldn't start any exercise regime while pregnant. So it's basically the best time to start for me. Then I should be able to continue until I needed to switch to antenatal exercise classes (which is probably third trimester). I really want to feel as fit as I was last time, instead of being a pear. I know I couldn't stop the eating when I do fall pg. So it has to be exercise to keep the weight down.

JBrd · 26/04/2013 11:47

All that talk of running is making me want to start again - I've been meaning to do the C25K, but every time I'd plucked up the resolve, I fell pg... So maybe now's the time? Really need to start exercising again and watch what I eat, the weight has been creeping up again.

Had my follow-up scan today. Everything is as it should be - no retained tissue, nice thin endometrial lining, no signs of infection. In the circumstances, this is how it should be, but I still feel sad, tearful and heartbroken Sad

Ttc and mc are such rollercoasters, no matter how much you try and steel yourself, nothing can cushion the blows when you fall down again from that emotional high after getting a BFP. Or the disappointment when af arrives again.

I've been thinking of maybe taking a break from it all... But I don't think I will, I really can't afford to lose too much time at my age (I'm 41). But the thought of ttc again, the stress and waiting, the worry that will now come with every BFP - I'm dreading it, tbh.

alyant79 · 26/04/2013 11:27

OMG santa losing 3 stones is AMAZING. well done you.
Agree with pushing on with training, but don't go too crazy. Try to keep up the miles on your long runs but let your speed drop off if you are feeling too exhausted.

GardenWorm · 26/04/2013 11:26

YEY Santa Congratulations!!!! XXX

WillSantaComeAgain · 26/04/2013 11:19

Oh saggy, am really sorry. How shite to be in limbo like that. You're not out till AF comes- it may be a WTF cycle and you ov'd later than you thought. Remember, I had a BFN last week and that was 13 dpo.

Feeling more pleased then expected but refusing to get hopes up- if all works well, then it will be fabulous, obv, but if it goes wrong again I want to make sure I haven't spent 2 months going backwards in terms of my health and fitness (I've lost 3 stone since mmc1, and taken up running in a big way, with a plan to do a marathon in August. Until I have a good 12 week scan, I will continue to plan and train for it.

Thanks for all the running comments - I am definetly going to get the trainers on and go for it over the weekend - thanks ladies for the push I needed!! Xxx

OneLittleToddleTerror · 26/04/2013 10:52

It's good news friday isn't it? I'm so pleased for your santa.

I've got a great story to share. DH was pulled out of work last friday because of my heavy bleeding from mc. He has to tell his boss why he was leaving. His boss told him yesterday that his wife has 4 mcs between their first and second. They were seen by doctors after the 3rd and they were told they were just unlucky and that there was nothing wrong. They now have 4 children. So it could have a happy ending even if you have 4 in a row. I can't imagine how heart breaking it must have been.

mummy exercise will definitely do you good. DH boss said the doctors just told them the best they could do to help ttc is to keep fit and healthy. I'm always petite, so I guess I don't look lumpy. But I definitely feel fat at the moment because I have gone from size 8 jeans to now not even fitting into size 10s. (I've both sizes in my wardrobe). It's a wake up call for me that I need to get myself together as I'm refusing to buy size 12! Especially since I'm still 6/8 on my top half. You can imagine how pear shape I look atm. I'm living on leggings and dresses now. I've joined the gym and started using myfitnesspal. Trust me, no one will look at you other than thinking 'good on you'. It's the same in the gym. It's really all in our heads! If nothing just think it'll help with ttc.

katerinaemalina · 26/04/2013 09:27

That's reassuring to hear aly I keep making feeble excuses why I'm not entering races at the mo! I know it def lifts the mood though so will aim for a slow meander through the park at weekend. Who's with me?!

alyant79 · 26/04/2013 08:55

Wooo! for santa. How do you feel? Still ambivalent, or pleased/scared?

saggy that is completely and utterly rubbish. Biggest of hugs. As the others say, give it a couple of days...

mummy def get out there and hit the pavement. I'm also a runner but have been v slack lately. Was itching to go for a run last weekend when the weather was so good but was sick. Am still sick (ggrrrrr!!) but am itching to get my joggers on. Might have to say fuck you to the rivers of snot and go out anyway.
Also nobody will be offended if you are a bit lumpy. They will just admire you for getting out there. And with respect to pregnancy - I ran up to 5/6 months when i was pg with DD. The current wisdom is that as long as you don't push yourself too hard, and listen to your body, you can run as long as you like. I even did a half marathon at 5 months (very, very slowly).
It's just very hard to have the energy over the first trimester. With this most recent pregnancy I struggled to find the energy to run, but whenever i did I felt wonderful.

katerinaemalina · 26/04/2013 08:35

Oh saggy go have a big cry. We are all giving big hug over virtual world. I would go get cb digital anyway. And it's Friday not Monday. Go to work. Get your head down. Do the job. Come home. Be nice to yourself today, take it easy. I hate my job too Smile remember it could just be too early to show that's all. Big hug

JBrd · 26/04/2013 08:27

Congrats, Santa, that's brilliant!

Saggy, you're not out yet, wait a couple of days (if you can) and try again - the exact same thing has happened to me last year, tested when af was 2 days late, nothing. Re-tested two days later and got the BFP. Good luck!

SaggyOldClothCatPuss · 26/04/2013 08:27

I'm so fed up right now I could cry! Work is shit today, I just want to go hide! I could go buy a CbD but it's a lit of money to waste! How can I feel all of these symptoms and still not have enough hormones for a faint line?! Sad

Bakingtins · 26/04/2013 08:13

Congrats santa !!

Not out yet, saggy, fingers crossed for you.

Zeuxippe · 26/04/2013 08:08

Congrats santa!! Great news!

saggy do you know when you ov'd? Could just be too early? It ain't over till af comes - fx.

Ariel21 · 26/04/2013 07:56

Santa !! How brilliant!

Saggy - when I got my (one and only) BFP I got diddly squat on loads of tests apart from the Clearblue Digital, maybe get one and try again? If not, hopefully it's a bit too early. Fingers crossed!

Darn, can't wait to start trying again.

Happy POAS everyone!

BlackholesAndRevelations · 26/04/2013 07:29

Congrats Santa!! Grin

Sorry saggy, hope it's just a little too early for you. Hugs x

katerinaemalina · 26/04/2013 07:28

Saggy just reread. What about clear blue digital?

katerinaemalina · 26/04/2013 07:26

Funnily enough I am a runner but am now too scared to run as worried its doing bad stuff. I know it isn't but I can't seem to get it out my head. It would help my sanity to start running again.

katerinaemalina · 26/04/2013 07:25

Yeh Santa congrats. We're here for hand holding now but v pleased for you!!!
Wtf - poor u saggy. Not amusing at all. What test are u using? Are you normal regular with af? Maybe another couple days will help if implantation happened later??

Thundercatsarego · 26/04/2013 07:17

Hi all

Congrats santa!

Bollocks saggy, what the hell's going on? You poor thing- limbo is not a good place to be.

Sorry to flower too, bloomin af Sad

All this talk of running- I say do it too. When I see anyone running, no matter what they look like, I admire them for getting off their ass and getting out there.

IBelieveInPink · 26/04/2013 07:09

Santa - whoop! Yay! Congrats :)

Saggy - oh love, that's shit. Any chance it still to early if you have all those symptoms?
