Trying to Conceive Thread . . . .3!!

Right oh.

I thought the TTC Thread no. 2 was getting a bit depressing and we all need cheering up with extra sprinkles of babydust, so I thought I would start a new thread.

I also have a motive - having looked back at the last 4 ttc threads I have noticed (being the sad person I am) that the thread originators all became pg during the life of the thread.

So . .

Here's me:

24 years old, DD 16 months, ttc since September.

Anyone joining me on this nw, happy thread?

can't keep up here if I haven't checked for a few days! Good luck to everyone testing in the next few days.
We're busy bding the days away - and then have the 2ww. I'm away for that 2 weeks so it should take my mind off things a little. I see my GP tomorrow to go over all results so am a bit anxious about that. Will be good to know one way or the other.
Hoping for some strong blue lines Fisil..... and everyone else!

LOL @ Azure ! Can we place bets ??

BigBird · 11/02/2004 09:34

fingers crossed futurity and fisil.

Harman, def have your few drinks and relax (sorry - prob too late now!). After so long ttcing you realise you can't put your life on hold "just in case...".

Azure · 11/02/2004 09:27

Futurity - how can you possibly wait until Saturday??? The suspense is killing me Fisil, best of luck for today. Nerd fact of the morning: I have now put everyone TTC into a spreadsheet to keep a better track of who's due when. I really must get down to some work now.

bunny2 · 11/02/2004 09:22

Jellycat, I am 4 DPO, we are almsot synchronised! Got to go now. See you all later. Good luck everyone.

bunny2 · 11/02/2004 09:11

Futurity, do you have Poundland near you? They do 2 for a pound! Good luck with testing at the weekend. Last pg, I finally got a pos after 4 tests.

futurity · 11/02/2004 08:37

Still no news from me. AF not turned up and I am on day 32. The last cycle was 29 days and the one before 31 so not sure what to make of it all. Have already taken two tests which were negitive but read on an old thread the other day of women who had negitive tests originally and took ages to get a positive even though they were pregnant.

Anyway..not going to test until at least Saturday as can't afford all these tests!!

bunny2 · 11/02/2004 08:37

Fisil, I hope everything is ok at the docs. I think they can tell if you're pg by feeling your cervix. Ouch.

Harman, hope you enjoyed your drink, I had a couple of glasses of wine last night but much less than I would normally have. Really want a ciggie too, must be all this stress but I WILL NOT SMOKE, never again (the urge to never goes though, damn it).

Kay dont worry, you are not the only one obsessing. Dh keeps telling me not to get too fixated as I mightr be setting myself up for disappointment but I cant help it.

Still bleeding, now like a light period - what's going on???

Just a quick update - spoke to my boss when I got in and she said "get yourself to a doctor now!" and arranged a supply teacher for me for the day. So I will be off as soon as I can get an appointment.

fisil · 11/02/2004 06:25

Hi ladies. Was lying low yesterday - just wanted the day to pass. Bit more blood too. Was going to do the same today, but couldn't resist it when I got up.

DP says it's a negative, but a better one than Monday's - "must piss harder" is his verdict.

How can it be a "better negative". Surely that is what is known as a positive?

So I say that it was positive. Very faint, I admit, but definitely positive.

Mind you, then had another little bleed between doing and reading the test. So not getting too excited!

Not really sure what to think. I suppose it's "welcome back to worry"

ChaCha · 10/02/2004 23:58

Evening all,

Hope you are all okay.
Well today was CD7. Keep your fingers crossed for me please.

jellycat · 10/02/2004 22:25

Sorry eyelash, I didn't mean I was actually pg, it was just a joke about the fact that the 40 weeks of pregnancy start from before you've even ovulated.

Bunny, that sounds quite heavy for an ovulation bleed actually (IME) but it's also too early for implantation (IMO). Sorry! How many dpo are you now? I think we are almost cycle buddies so at least we can agonise with each other during the last few days (I am 6 dpo I think).

Harman, I hope you had a good night out! Drinking in the early stages isn't supposed to be very harmful (can't remember where I got that info from though). I have given up trying to stop drinking I have just cut down a bit (probably needed to anyway )

fisil and futurity haven't posted today - how are you girls?

Kay1 · 10/02/2004 20:58

harman - i think its ok if you have a drink whilst waiting for AF, just probably not a good idea to get completely bladdered!

bunny - this is only my second month of temping so very new to it all, unfortunately not so new to ttc and wishing i had discovered it ages ago. after having what seemed like textbook temps last month (except no pg!)I don't know whats happening to me this month - my temp is all over the place at the moment - did wee test yesterday and negative so went out to pub, had 2 pints of beer and decided to eat toast and watch tv when i got back rather than demand sex from sleeping dh! (This am he said i should have gone for it anyway - just for the practice!!) Am still doing OPK's so will see what happens later in week. I'm still learning about it but your temp chart sounds good Like Quackers i have been checking out all the pg charts on the ff website and comparing them - part of my campaign to discover what is happening - it's really lovely to know that other people do that too - i had thought i was going a bit mad!

eyelash · 10/02/2004 19:58

bunny2 - thanks for asking. I am feeling fine. Tiredness and massive boobs have started so good sign. First scan seems to confirm I ovulated on day 19 so technically just over 6 weeks. I have another scan on Friday, and hopefully every two weeks after that until week 14 when I get discharged to the ordinary midwives. On a positive have gotten further that last 3 misses but had first at 8/9 weeks so still feeling a bit nervous. But so lucky it happened again without any stress in terms of ttc or testing as didn't realise until past af was due.

Thinking of you all.

Eyelash, how are you doin'?

bunny2 · 10/02/2004 17:39

Harman, it is really early days, dont give up hope yet.

Thaks Jellycat and Quacks for your advice. My temp stayed up today so that was a good sign. I am still bleeding though, it's not like the spotting I get before AF, it is very fresh blood and it has been like that for ovwer 24 hours. Isnt there a chance it might be an implantation bleed?/? Just a teeny chance ... pleeeeease.

Azure, you made me laugh with your tired ancient ovaries!

eyelash · 10/02/2004 17:15

fisil - so sorry you didn't get the expected result but still early days.

Jellycat - are you due in October as well?

Bunny2 - sounds like an ovulation bleed but confirms you have ovulated.

Best of luck everybody.

Wow Azure, that was quick after that last bleed. Happy bd'ing!

Yes, I always thought it was odd, counting the 2 weeks before ov as part of the pregnancy (so I'm nearly 3 weeks gone by now!!). It's only because date of LMP was the only certain date the docs could go on (before the days of Persona, OPKs etc).

Azure · 10/02/2004 10:15

Things are sounding promising on this thread - good luck to those nearing the end of their cycles. I am on day 9 and had a strong second line on my Persona stick this morning (although no "o" ), so hopefully a nice, healthy egg is about to pop out of my tired, ancient ovary. BD'd last night, so may give tonight a rest and resume tomorrow. The strange thought going through my mind at the moment is: given that a pregnancy timescale is calculated from the first day of the last period, I could already be 9 days pregnant, before any fertilization has taken place!!

Quackers · 10/02/2004 09:24

Hi Bunny, only just seen this. Agree with Jelly cat, it's probably ov bleed, I've had them a couple of times and it is just a spot. So don't worry, either that or it's too much sex!!!!! Just kidding!
When I was at this point waiting to know if I was successful I was looking at the charts on fertility friend and comparing to mine - getting a bit obsessed as you do!!! It's really hard to tell from your chart for a while if you are pg as sometimes people can have an imp dip and still not be pg, However, your temps will stay high or maybe even go to a new level and rise again - triphasic and this is likely to mean a pgcy! I will be logging on and seeing how you're doing everyday and of course giving my opinions!! I'm just really please that the Clomid has worked and you have every chance now of getting pg, even if it takes a few months, you just don't mind as much when you know you can!!!!xx

jellycat · 10/02/2004 09:14

Bunny, it sounds like an ovulation bleed to me. Sometimes a bit of blood is lost when the egg bursts out from the ovary. Is it just a tiny smear? It won't be an implantation bleed, that would be 7-10 days after ov.

The 3 days of elevated temps is just to confirm that you ovulated. If you had a rise on one day and then the temp went down again the next then it would just be taken as a blip on your chart. Since you used OPKs as well and are pretty sure you ovulated then I'd expect your temps to stay high, but if you were using temping on its own you'd need the 3 days of high temps to be sure, IYSWIM.

I dreamt last night that I had an implantation bleed! I also dreamt about going to visit my friend, who is expecting a baby this week. Definitely getting obsessed here.
