Trying to Conceive Thread . . . .3!!

Right oh.

I thought the TTC Thread no. 2 was getting a bit depressing and we all need cheering up with extra sprinkles of babydust, so I thought I would start a new thread.

I also have a motive - having looked back at the last 4 ttc threads I have noticed (being the sad person I am) that the thread originators all became pg during the life of the thread.

So . .

Here's me:

24 years old, DD 16 months, ttc since September.

Anyone joining me on this nw, happy thread?

OOOPS! Sorry Bunny, I of course meant BUNNY!!

Quackers · 31/01/2004 16:30

Hi Nunny! Yes I generally get a dip before ov. Apparantly Fertility Friend put that as actually as my day of ov and then I got the rise the day after to confirm I had ovulated the day before. They say about a third of women get 'the dip' and it's grt when you do as you know to have a good session that night!!!!!!!

bunny2 · 30/01/2004 22:44

Hi Ermentrude
The idea is to start a chart on day 1 of your cycle so you can map an entire cycle out from beginning to end to get the whole picture. Starting at day 1 will give you a clear picture of the different phases of your cycle.

In answer to your second question, the first day of your period is the first day you have bright red blood flow, not spotting or brown blood. Mine always takes a few days to get going due to a luteal phase defect.

HTH

ermentrude · 30/01/2004 20:52

This might sound very strange, but I am a new to TTC so bear with me.
I have the thermometer and the instruction booklet and have afew questions.

  1. It says to start taking temperature from the first day of your period - is there any harm in starting before that? What is the reason for this?
  2. What do you count as 'my period has started'? Mine always takes a few days to 'get going' properly....

Sorry if these questions seem odd!

bunny2 · 30/01/2004 20:47

Anyone else on clomid? I feel pre-menstrual and cant stop eating chocolate. I'm on day 10 of my cycle and wondering if it is the clomid at work.
Also, has anyone who is temping had a significant dip just before ov?

Quackers · 30/01/2004 09:28

lol!!!!

bunny2 · 29/01/2004 19:25

Hana,
I hope you get the results you want. I am still not convinced even though everything came back neg. good luck.

bunny2 · 29/01/2004 19:24

Happy birthday Fisil. Hope you get the pressie you wish for. Bxx

Sex without legs in the air and ovulation charts? I am embarassed to admit itbut we havent really had a fun shag for a couple of years, I dont want dh to use up his fab sperm at the wrong time. Maybe we should do it "because we love each other"... there's a thought See you later

hana · 29/01/2004 18:04

fisil - 'just because we love each other'
you make me laugh! We've been bd'ing (but taking a break from the b in the bd) just because we love each other lately too. It's quite nice without the pressure of not moving for 20 minutes, or putting legs in the air or all those other things you think are necessary to fertilize that egg!!!
Happy Birthday to you

hana · 29/01/2004 17:59

Bunny - had my second set of blood taken today, there was a bit of concern as to whether the blood would get to the lab at 'room temp' as it was being sent via courier......it's very cold here today......but they said it was all well packaged up. Will know in another week or so if it's still elevated and I have APS. I was tested for lupus and that was negative, and was told they usually go hand in hand? At this point it will be great to have an answer and take it from there.

Have just got AF....and of course first thought (somewhat absurdly) was 'maybe this is an implantation bleed' what do I do to myself?!??!
You really do have to laugh at that! Feeling better though. DH and I away on the w/e without dd

Quackers · 29/01/2004 17:20

Fertiltiy friend is great. Well worth trying VIP membership for first month!! I got pg using it first month and OPKs! The handbook is very useful!

bluestar · 29/01/2004 15:51

www.fertilityfriend.com will plot your graph for you and you get a month's free trial of the VIP features.

ermentrude · 29/01/2004 15:39

My thermometer arrived today but it all looks very confusing. Is there anywhere online where I can just type in my temperature and it will create the graph for me. And then tell me when to get at it?!

Do I have to wait until the first day of AF?

jellycat · 29/01/2004 14:27

fisil, I conceived ds 3 days before my b'day so I am sending b'day baby dust your way!

OK Quackers, I'll let you know, so you can get excited!!

Quackers · 29/01/2004 14:08

Hi again! Yes you're right Azure, sometimes Persona takes a couple of months to give an O symbol. But if you watch the pissy sticks there will be the 2 lines. They start quite faint if I remember rightly and then get stronger. Wish you luck for when you do get your O!!! I'll get excited then!

Thanks Quackers and Azure. Quackers - don't get excited, the symbol hasn't appeared yet! On day 9 at the moment. Just one blue line on the stick when I tested. I was just wondering, that's all!

Azure · 29/01/2004 10:56

Jellycat - word of warning, I didn't get an "o" when I used it before, but still managed to concieve. It doesn't always show in the first cycle. I did get a second blue line on the stick, though, which I think indicates ovulation, although it doesn't say so in the booklet. Quackers, is that right about a second line? I'm on day 6, so had to test this morning. Also, every day from day 6 was red last time around.

Quackers · 29/01/2004 10:51

Good luck again Bunny!!! Thinking of you!

The 'o' symbol appears about 24-36 hours before you ovulate so getting moving and get BD'g!!!!!! This is the optimum time to do it and try tomorrow too if you can!!!

jellycat · 29/01/2004 10:04

Hello everyone and Happy Birthday fisil .

Azure, I have a Persona too. This will be my first month of using it. So, lots of weeing on sticks - hope it works. Do you know how long before you ovulate the `O' symbol appears?

BeckiF · 29/01/2004 09:39

I did several courses of Clomind about 8 years ago and even though I got AF the blood test showed I hadn't ovulated!

bunny2 · 28/01/2004 22:39

A bit more enthusiasm please Fisil!

Hana is right, clomid is the most common fertility drug. It is taken on days 2-6 of a cycle and triggers the body to ovulate. It is good for women like me who dont seem to ovualte or who do so irregularly. Last time I got pg on the second month of clomid.

Hi Hana, my blood tests came back neg so my Cons doesnt think I have antiphospholipid syndrome but I am still taking vitamin E, justin case. How are you?

fisil · 28/01/2004 22:10

Good luck with them bunny2!

I've been using Eyelash's ovulation testing sticks. Arrived home last night after massive 12 1/2 stint at work, felt duty bound to do the old pissy stick, and there is was, loud and clear "you must shag tonight however tired you are." So, what could we do?

hana · 28/01/2004 22:06

I think it is a pill/drug that helps to regulate ovulation? Bunny will correct me on that! Is that good news Bunny that you've had no side effects? Fingers and all else crossed..........

fisil · 28/01/2004 21:59

what is clomid?
