Ahhhhhhhh....I need an ear!

AF has just reared her ugly head. I am not p*ed off this time - it means i can start the clomid and stop pretending that it is just spotting and the chocolate is a craving, hee hee!! Phantom symptoms syndrome!

I am letting this TTC control my life! It is becoming an obssession, perhaps i need a chill pill. What do you suggest? Am glad DH is not at home at the moment, LOL.

Moomin, thanks for the advice. I'm actually looking at promotions, which might be the bit which is making me think "ugh, will I ever cope." Maybe that's the bit I should change!

Fisil - I'm in the same boat as you at the mo. I am depserate to leave my current job as the new HoD is a disaster plus the travelling is getting me down. For the past 9 months I've been thinking I'd be pg soon and then could have all my maternity benefits from this job and then leave when the baby was 9 months or something. But it hasn't worked out like that
I'm starting to seriously consider doing supply work and tutoring just to keep the money coming in but without the stress of my current job which may be a factor in me not getting pg. A friend of a friend is getting plenty of supply work just at the schools she fancies so she doesn't have to "slum it".
I think you can still get your benefits if you move schools within the same authority. You'd still get smp (£100) anyway, but you may not get the extras that some schools give to longer-term employees. You'd have to phone your LEA.

Sorry CD for af showing up and for the loss of your friend. Know what you all mean about feeling weepy and crap. Cried when I went to bed last night thinking af would show, felt very low about ttc, the gap between ds and no.2 (if it ever happens), well you all know I'm sure. Feel a bit more positive today, not much spotting in last couple of hours. 13 days past ov today, would usually expect af to show up around now, so if nothing happens, will buy a test tomorrow. Hate the fact that I do usually spot before af, so can see why hard to get my hopes up despite good temp chart.

BTW, can anyone answer this. As I am fed up with all this waiting I have decided to go for plan B (plan A was "have a baby, get a new job". Because of the way teaching is, if I got a job tomorrow, it would be for 1st June or 1st September. In other words, I could accept a job not pg, but still turn up on day 1 in my second trimester. Where would I stand on maternity leave rights if I start a job at that stage?

Yes it is tragic, he was such a wonderful and interesting bloke, was on a motorbike in Goa at night, got to a T junction but didn't see it and there was a brick wall in front of him. Luckily he died instantly. Had been good mates since we were 13

I hate motorbikes. That's the third friend who's been killed on one but no-one this close before

I told DP last night that I "feared" I was pg, and that I was alarmed out how much it worried me, and should we stop ttc? We talked about it and decided that there is never an easy time to have no.2, it just isn't going to be easy full stop. And we decided that for ds' sake the sooner the better, so on with the shagging!

Oh poor all of us snivelling wrecks - I've been v tearful too but did find out yesterday that a v good and old friend has been killed in a motorbike accident while we were on holiday last week, couldn't stop crying last night as can't believe will never see him again (other than in box at funeral tomorrow )

Thanks for asking CD. I had a crappy morning. Gave up half way through breakfast and went back to bed to cry (left ds eating rice cakes and making very cute noises all alone!). Had a word with boss-of-choice when I got in to work and she agreed that work is really tough for me at the moment and we talked it all through. So feeling a bit happier, knowing that I have support here. Bit less happy knowing that there are very good reasons for me to be tired and tearful, so the hormonal explanations are less likely!

Bluestar, it sounds soooo promising. How long do you plan to leave it before doing a test?

Hana, cant you have a smear around day 9, then you'll have the green light for bding by day 11. I didnt think it had to be right in the middle of a cycle (I'm sure mine havent always been). How are you apart from that? I am tentatively taking baby aspirin (still convinced I have a blood disorder, there was an article on "cyberchondria" in the Indie on Sunday, I could have written it myself).

Bluestar, I know just what you mean about getting hopes up! The waiting bit is so hard and when you temp you have such a close insight into what is happening. I saw a dip when implantation occured but just would not believe anything until a test confirmed as that stage is so critical. You can have spotting for a few days with implantation and that's why some people think it's AF coming. Like you say no point getting hopes up but it is very promising for you. When do you think you will test if your AF doesn't show up??? What day are you on now??
