Right oh.

I thought the TTC Thread no. 2 was getting a bit depressing and we all need cheering up with extra sprinkles of babydust, so I thought I would start a new thread.

I also have a motive - having looked back at the last 4 ttc threads I have noticed (being the sad person I am) that the thread originators all became pg during the life of the thread.

So . .

Here's me:

24 years old, DD 16 months, ttc since September.

Anyone joining me on this nw, happy thread?

Futurity, i know how you feel. I have been searching the entire web already and am only just day one of my medication. It becomes an obsession! Baby dust to you anyway, your post made me laugh!

Bunny, sorry you had a lousy day. But do you really need that big glass of wine?

Am not having any side effects as of yet. Just snappy!

bunny2 · 04/02/2004 15:42

Blimey, we are due some good news on this thread. If it is any consolation I have had a horrid day too. Ds was set upon by some horrible boys at the play centre, they were hitting him for no reason, it was horrid so I had a go at them and made them cry, then on the way home we were accosted by a nasty drunk on the bus who frightened ds and told me I was a bad mother (not sure why). Then we get home and I do a second pissy stick but STILL no hormone surge. I have been doing a Brunhilda and eating really well, avoiding booze etc but think I'll have a big glass of wine tonight.

Moomin, it does take 3 months for sperm to form which is why men are supposed to have a healthy diet for 3 months before ttcing. But, I dont know any man who actually does this. I do know many men who have got someone pg after a boozy night out so I dont suppose the alcohol can do that much damage. If I were you I wouldnt worry about it (still make him grovel though).

Bad luck Bluestar, I thought it looked really good. It's natures wicked joke that the very early pg symptoms are similar to pre-menstrual ones.

Moomin · 04/02/2004 15:23

Right: me, fisil and furturity can be in the same support group, When Saturday Comes. I just hope that Saturday brings us some good news instead of that old cow AF!!

Work is crap because my HoD is a dick, he makes me and colleagues feel worthless, the travelling is getting me down but I don't feel that I can leave in case I get pg and lose out on all my maternity benefits. However, I've just been to see my Big Boss who is very concerned that we're all so down and wants to try to make things better. But I still don't feel I can tell him it's only the mat. benefits that are keeping me in the job!

At least I know that dh will have such a hangdog face when I get home and he'll have been dwelling on my outburst all day, so I'll be treated like a princess when I get home...

Just phoned our GP as well. All our hormone and sperm test results are in but our GP's not available until Fri morning so we have to do some more waiting and then speak to him. Still, at least we'll know whether either of us is a bit manky or not then.

Quackers · 04/02/2004 14:10

So sorry Bluestar, it sounded so positive from your temps. You just don't know what happens between conception and implantation and if it's going to succeed. You will get pg very soon, I know you will!!
Good luck all of you!!!!!! Hope someone has some positive news soon!

futurity · 04/02/2004 12:52

Hope that dust comes my way M2T! I am due on at weekend and already have period pains..cruel or what!! I think I am getting obsessed now as I have 4 books out from the library on pregnancy!

M2T · 04/02/2004 12:14

We are a sorry lot, aren't we. Bad luck about AF Bluestar. Twiglett - you're right, I'll get some different vitamins.

BigBird · 04/02/2004 11:01

Cheer up moomin
DH has a few boozy nights out too....(and me too!) I don't think it does that much harm ??

Bad luck Bluestar....

I read yesterday that a build up of 8-10 days sperm is bad....so if you haven't bd'd since well before AF then you should prob have one 'session' day 8 or so rather than waiting for 'Ov'.

fisil · 04/02/2004 10:57

Thanks for all your support ladies. I will hold out til Saturday (hopefully won't have much time to think before then anyway). AF will probably turn up before then anyway

Moomin - men! they just don't seem to get it!

CountessDracula · 04/02/2004 10:51

Moomin sorry you are having a rotten time, hope things improve soon - what is wrong at work?

Moomin · 04/02/2004 10:48

I feel a bit embarrassed now about my posting - well the last line at least. I'm silly to say the world's at an end when there are so many people worse off than me and genuinely suffering. Sorry... and thanks twiglett.

BTW we must have got rid of some already this morning ... before we got up and had our row, of course! But it this is the case, how is it true that alcohol can kill up to 3 months' worth? Is it only true if you don't have sex for 3 months?!

Poor you fisil and poor everyone else. (CD sorry to hear about your friend). We all seem to be on such a downer at the moment. Well, listen to this for a tale of woe... I don't seem to have picked up from my black mood yesterday which makes me think I'm ripe for a bout of nasty pmt with AF expected on Saturday. Last night dh went out to watch football in the pub and came home after I was asleep. In the night I woke up with such a dreadful sweat on I had to take my nightie off - I was soaked! That makes me feel it must be a huge surge of hormones as well (maybe it the bloody menopause )
And then in conversation with dh this morning he reveals that he drank 6 or 7 pints last night. We agreed a few months back that he would stop the binge drinking as we'd read it can kill up to 3 months' worth of sperm. He said he didn't think it constituted binge drinking bacuse he wasn't paralytic. I say it IS binge drinking because he doesn't usually drink at all most weeks and he had this much in the space of 3 hours. I could have KILLED him. Instead I sat crying my eyes out (after putting my make up on), thinking and saying "What's the point?" It's just made it all the worse, knowing how unhappy I am at work, knowing we don't seem capable of getting pg and now dh has probably killed off the next few months' supply because of his selfishness. I can't remember feeling so hopeless and down...

bluestar · 04/02/2004 10:38

AF showed up this morning
Can't believe I had such a good temp chart. Peeved that the cycle was 40 days though and that yesterday all afternoon and evening I had no spotting at all.
Feel crap but there you go, back to bding again in a couple of weeks.
Will there be anyone with good news soon????

Bad luck BigBird - postitive vibes for next month. Does anyone know whether it is ok to take a regular (i.e. non-pregnancy) daily multi-vitamin supplement? I have been taking one with probiotic whatever but it says on the side to consult a doctor if pregant or ttc. I vaguely remember that vitamin A (I think) intake should be reduced when pregant - is this the reason?

CountessDracula · 04/02/2004 10:01

Fisil, I hate to say it but it sounds to me like hormones, hopefully pregnancy ones, at work!

Come on you and Bluestar, test!

BigBird · 04/02/2004 09:53

not me this time

Good luck bluestar & fisil ( fisil - i'd wait till at least Fri / Sat to test)

About the CM link there...I tried the robitussin for a few mths and it dodn't work for me but taking Starflower oil capsules from cd 1 to ov did work a bit. Though I have given that up now too ! Take nothing only pregnacare now.

Azure · 04/02/2004 09:49

Good morning ladies. CD, so sorry to hear your news . I hope today goes as well as can be expected. Fisil, sorry to hear you're feeling down - I hope work picks up for you soon. It's amazing how many emotions ttc brings. Brunhilda, good to see you here. Have your periods got back to normal since your m/c? Mine are completely up the creek (9 day cycle last time, 21 before that).

Quackers · 04/02/2004 09:37

Fisil, I would hang on till saturday at least. That's 12 DPO?? If I'm right. I have had very early positives but it's just disappointing if you try that little bit too early and get disappointed. Maybe try a Frirst resp or boots on Sat???
Bunny, Hiya, fine thank you, 15 weeks now would you beleive!!
BTW I took evening primrose oil for CM as I didn;t get very much and it did work!!!
Brunhilda!!! Lovely to see you've graduated!! Won';t be long now before your appointment!! Good luck!!
BLUESTAR - how are you today?? Any news??

M2T · 04/02/2004 09:29

Me again....

I tested 9 days after DH & I bd'd and got a very faint positive with boots own brand tests... It was a much stronger positive 3 days later, so although it 'might' show a positive result, you'd be best to wait a few days to be sure.... I know I'm so impatient though, I'd want to do it right away.

Hi ladies. Feel awful to be doing this again, but arrived at work again feeling like shit. I just want to curl up in a corner and cry and then sleep. I want to know if this is early pg or whether it is just the pressures at work at the moment. Ov was last Tues (as was BD). Today is cd23 which is my shortest cycle, longest is cd33. Can I test yet? When is the soonest I can test? I only want to do one test, so that if it is positive I can stay home for a couple of days and bring myself back under control, and if it is negative I can focus on the work issues knowing that they are real. So when can I test?

PS I love you all, it is so wonderful to have a support network like this.

Brunhilda · 03/02/2004 23:29

Hi there mateys. Thought I would 'graduate' to this thread from mc thread. Am not actually ttc at the mo since am on waiting list to se consultant about my mcs - cd take 12 weeks and doc said not to try. In the meantime I have taken Bunny2's advice and have read a book by Marian Glenville about ttc and prevent mc. It was very good. As a result I have given up coffee and booze as of yestreday. Yesterday I really missed my coffee but feel betternow. Am also trying to eat lots of fruit and veg. BTW am 34 and have one 12 month old daughter. Anyone else doing without coffee and booze and eating lots of fruit type things?

bunny2 · 03/02/2004 23:15

ChaCha, great you can start the clomid. Good luck. It will become an obsession though, it cant be helped!

Good night all
