Hey solars. I'm about to go to the airport to meet dh :) Ooh your niece is born! How lovely, how are things with sil? Maybe easier now baby's born? I'm brooking you can start next cycle, with all the other brookers.

Solars · 28/04/2013 07:39

Goodness knows why I am up so early Confused

My story Kitty is ttc for 3.5 years, no hint of a BFP. Clomid on 4 months still nothing, 1 failed NHS icsi last sept/oct, scraped in before I turned 40 endometrioma discovered on left ovary had that drained last December. Now at argc, immunes tested and just 1 more blood test before I complete my monitoring cycle and they figure out what to do for me.

We are off to see my new niece today, looking forward to newborn snuggles.

What is everyone else up to?

BlindKitty · 27/04/2013 20:50

I'm sure its karma lol. My friend says its because everything else in my life is too perfect and I can't have everything lol

RubberBullets · 27/04/2013 19:50

I wish you all were, it is very unfair that ttc is such a lottery

BlindKitty · 27/04/2013 19:45

ha think sometimes I've forgotten what sff is! Of course, I'm only kidding. I just wish I was one of those brookers too!

RubberBullets · 27/04/2013 19:43

I am 'one of those' but the brookers are really lovely and let me stay anyway :)

RubberBullets · 27/04/2013 19:41

Sex for fun :)

BlindKitty · 27/04/2013 19:36

rubber ah you're one of those are you??? Only messing, i'm only jealous anyway haha! whats a sff?

RubberBullets · 27/04/2013 19:26

Kitty my story is a little different from the others as I'm the black sheep of the brookers.

I joined MN in August 2011 and fond the brooking thread really quickly. I became pg with dd in my first full cycle of ttc. DD was born in May 2012 and last month I got a very unexpected BFP from 1 careless sff Blush

BlindKitty · 27/04/2013 19:05

maybe love how you make it sound like the swimmers are just next to the frozen peas haha! Really brooking for your ICSI next month.

Really hope the shortbread you left isn't like the stuff dh made a few months ago. Think he either heated the toffee for too long or used too much (or both) but it was so hard it was inedible!

Solars · 27/04/2013 17:35

Yay Maybe you're starting next month! Wow so many of you, I won't know for sure until a couple of weeks! So we have you and Beedle on a dead cert starting and then potentially Cups & Geek exciting times for brooking BFP's for sure!!

Geek your appointment sounded extremely positive, brooking double time for your scan! Don't know much about metformin but brooking you don't suffer any side effects. It's a shame he couldn't perform the scan at your appointment.

Sweetie yay!! I have a feeling you may be on for multiples ;) Would saying you're on antibiotics help this evening?

Cups hope you had a lovely lunch

Looking forward to all the wham bam BFP's in the next few weeks, eeeeekkk

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/04/2013 15:54

I might try to get mrb on some vit E then. I did have him on dissolvable vit C and zinc from tescos (less pills to swallow) but as I haven't been to England recently he just on plain vit C.

How did I manage to miss next month in your post maybe ? Would that mean May as in starting very very soon? It will be very exciting around here :o

takes one to know one eh boo

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 15:17

you ARE all kinds of crazy Grin

ControlGeek · 27/04/2013 15:16

x-post beedle The cons didn't give a value for the vitamin E. MrG takes 1000iu each day of that (d-alpha form). The vitamin C is 1000mg, which is 1g which is what the cons recommended. He also takes Wellman Conception and as much HGW as I can throw down his neck Blush

ControlGeek · 27/04/2013 15:14

maybe !!!! Next month?! Yay Grin brooking like mad for you my lovely.

sweetie surely you driving is enough of a reason to not be drinking?

boo two days - TWO DAYS? I really don't know where this time has gone. So excited for you Grin Thanks for the advice on the timing of the metformin, I can see I am going to have to be very careful with my planning. I am to start on one a day, going up to three if my body is ok with it. I've just been googling and there are a lot of stories out there about how it can improve egg quality even in people without PCOS. And hey, if I get a little weight loss with it I'm not going to complain says she, scared to go back to WW in case she is so far above goal weight she has to start paying again

keep yes, just 15 minutes and I'm not even sure that we were in there for even that. I didn't ask about immunes in the end. I figured I would sound all kinds of crazy even to myself.

BeedlesPineNeedles · 27/04/2013 15:12

Fab news geek I'm brooking for an appointment very quickly and easily accessible ovaries. I have also put mrb on 1mg vit C a while ago, but not the vit E, how much should that be eachday?

maybe do you have an expected start date?

OP posts:
EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 15:01

Wow, bad grammar and half a sentence!! I would take it with/after food, not before on an empty stomach! Well you get what I mean Blush the end story is I have been fine! How many do you have to take how often?

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 14:57

I would take it with/after the couple of times I took mine before food I a really bad upset tummy, might have been coincidence though!

Also meant to add brooking for a quick scan date and lovely accessible ovies :)

keepitgoing · 27/04/2013 14:55

Ooh geek!!! Fab news! Was it just 15 mins in the end? What cd are you on, have you ov'd yet?

Beedle, cups, geek, maybe - so much going on!

:)

ControlGeek · 27/04/2013 14:53

Thank you boo those are the kind of stories I need to hear :) First one will be with tea tonight so will see how I get on.

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 14:29

Brooking brooking brooking!!!! Geek that all sounds amazingly positive :) next cycle eh :):) I am so excited for you.

Now for the metformin, really Bartlet is the brooker you need, but I have been taking it for the last 12 week's for the gd. It was expected to react badly on me and aggravate my Crohns, but I have been absolutely fine, everyone has been pleasantly surprised.

ControlGeek · 27/04/2013 14:23

I'm baaack GrinGrinGrin

I apologise in advance, this is going to be a mememe post because I just need to get this down in writing so I don't forget it all.

No physical exam, but from talking to me and hearing about my new cycle lengths the cons is happy that the op was a success. To confirm it, he wants me in for a scan asap, but only on a Thursday because that's when his NHS day is. I have to ring up first thing Monday morning to get an appointment for the first available Thursday, hopefully this Thursday but if not then the week before. It has to be before AF arrives.

Providing the scan shows that my ovaries are in the right place for egg collection, and that all is well with the world, he then wants me going straight onto short protocol starting from my next cycle!!!

He has said that the op he performed, he would expect 70% of his patients to get pg naturally shortly afterwards so MrG and I are to keep on trying despite the male factor issues.

I asked if there was anything we could do to help be in top condition and he has prescribed me metformin, which I'm a bit concerned about. MrG took it for a few weeks for his diabetes, and had awful side effects. Apparently, it will help my PCOS, help to maintain regular cycles and will improve the quality of my eggs. It means no alcohol whatsoever though that is probably a good thing in itself. He also recommended daily doses of 1g of vitamin C, and Vitamin E, for MrG to improve his sperm. I now feel vindicated over my nutty thorough internet research, as I have had him on this for about 6 months now in addition to the Wellman Conception.

So, ladies, this is it! Please brook for an early scan appointment so that I can join the ranks of assisted brookers on my next cycle Grin

EverythingIsTicketyBoo · 27/04/2013 14:14

Blush sorry Keep we would have if it wasn't for the hormonally charged clearly his fault argument small disagreement we had Blush he's at work now, so I have just done a full shop at tesco hoping that the walk round and carrying bags will help. Only 2 days till induction :):)
